Provider-sourced guest reviews.
This is a gem , clean room , friendly staff. Juanita have all your needs ,she has contact for everything in Harbour island and Eleuthera. We stayed off season and she made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Nice on site restaurant as well! Can’t go wrong!
Loved the atmosphere. Unique. Wonderful hospitaity.
I expected more for the rate I was paying.
Baby Ruby out did herself. From the moment we stepped of the ferry we were greeted with kindness and efficiency. We received a celebratory anniversary welcome with flowers and champagne.During our stay everyone was extremely attentive. The bar and restaurant was not only convenient, but had wonderful food. Golf cart rentals available at the hotel. Would definitely stay again.
This was our first time on the island. Baby Ruby’s hospitality was amazing. Our room was so comfortable and very clean. Loved that they had a bar and restaurant right on the property. The food was authentic and amazing. We rented a golf cart from Tingum Village which made things so convenient and only a 2 minute drive to the Pink Sand Beach!
Staff was very warm & friendly ! Great location and A/C was very good in the room .
Very Bahamian and comfy. We loved it
Booked trip to bahamas with tingum village hotel and expedia. Expedia had us flying. To nassau but tingum village is on an entirely different island which requires an entirely different flight. Customs would not allow us in bahamas unless we booked a different hotel. When i filed complaint and asked for refund with expedia both expedia and tingum village denied my refund request. Piss poor customer service and will mever book with expedia or tingum village again
The staff was so friendly and always greeted us, which was lovely. The included continental breakfast included was light (fruit, toast or bagel and beverages) but quite good. I can only give 3 stars overall however due to value- rate paid versus quality of product- and Wi-Fi issues. The main problem was Wi-Fi, as it is listed on the property’s booking site and I also called before booking to confirm since we needed to work a full day from the hotel including video calls that required privacy. I was told Starlink was available specifically in the rooms so we booked at a hefty price tag. Unfortunately, we discovered internet was not accessible in the rooms (networks displayed but would not connect), and it was only able to connect in the lobby area (and we were in a room quite close to the lobby). We had issues with the Wi-Fi dropping out intermittently but managed through. We heard another guest complaining about no Wi-Fi, so I know it was not just our devices or room. We ended up working and taking calls & meetings from the lobby/restaurant area, which I hated doing with other guests around & possibly disturbing them. While the room was very spacious and tropical, the appliances and plumbing fixtures were extremely old. The flow from the shower head was barely a trickle & the hair dryer was equally low pressure. Clearly repairs & additions had been made in certain areas with plywood and not expertly done. I expected more when paying equal to a premium or luxury US hotel.
We stayed in the Eleuthra Room. It was roomy, clean and really pretty. It had a big jet tub with a nice rain fall showerhead. The staff was happy, pleasant and attentive. We liked that it was a short walk from town. We rented a golf cart from them, too, which is a great way to get around the island. Regrettably, I left my make up bag at the hotel. When I called to report it, the staff already knew I had left it and Juanita was planning to take it to the States and mail it back to me, which she did as promised. So not only was our stay comfortable, Juanita continued to look out for me even after I left!
The stay in the hotel overall was great but the service in the restaurant was terrible, the worst experience ever. Staff was so slow, once we had to wait 1,5h to be seated, than another hour to get our food and than another half an hour to get a bill. Never ever in my life seen such a slow people. It wasn't even busy to give them an excuse. Prices for food were extremely expensive.
A great place to stay. Would definitely stay again. I loved that it is locally owned and staffed. The room was great. Plenty of towels and toiletries to use. The breakfast was simple by tasty. The staff was overall very friendly. We got a complimentary late check out, which we greatly appreciated. The only downside was that the ventilation duct in the bathroom is communicated with other rooms, and you can hear conversations and noises very clearly from other rooms.
Mommy stepped on the property Juanita and crystal made me feel like I was at home.
We loved our stay at the Tingum Hotel on Harbour Island! Juanita is the most gracious and welcoming host you could ask for. Our accommodations were fantastic—charming, comfortable, and full of island character. Each morning started with a delicious continental breakfast included in our stay. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. You *can* spend more time and more money elsewhere, but you simply won’t find a better value than Tingum. The atmosphere, hospitality, and location make it a hidden gem. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Harbour Island!
Juanita runs Tingum Village. She goes above and beyond to make her guests feel at home and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable. They have a fridge, microwave, TV, AC and fans in each room. Tingum Village is very laid back and friendly. Dylan gave exceptional dinner service. Sally offered to give us a lift in her golf cart to the beach out of the goodness of her heart. Franklin is a wonderful man that you will meet at TV. He will do anything for you and he has great stories. Juanita has golf carts right on property with great rates. Rent from Juanita. Tingum Village is very clean and their menu is very good.
Very Nice. Very Affordable. Excellent Management. A Golf Cart is Needed to get around Harbour Island.
Upon my arrival at Tingum Village, I was utterly displeased with the resort. The roof was leaking, and there was a strong smell of mold in the room. My staff and I left the resort and found another hotel on the island instead. With this being my experience, I reached out to Expedia and requested a refund, but they refused to refund my money
Loved our stay - in particular the staff running it! They are warm and friendly locals, especially if you are genuine too. Our room was clean and very accommodating, although do have to request to clean it. They conveniently offer cart rentals on site. The hotel felt totally safe. Now possibly the bad news: this is not a fancy hotel. It has a local feeling to it. It’s very simple. Sometimes the power goes out. Sometimes the water pressure is low or water is cold. There was a strange and quite large vent above the shower head. But hotel was walkable to town, has a great local feeling bar on site, and the best burgers in town. The staff are helpful but it’s a very laid back vibe. You want new towels? It may take a while. Garbage emptied? It may take a while. But if all that doesn’t bother you then this is your place. :)
I really love the local vive. Compared to other resorts, these family owned place gives you the opportunity to share time and drinks with locals. Juanita, the owner, will make sure you will have a good time. She is well connected.
Wonderful staff and location, will stay again.
The stay at the Tingum Village Hotel has been a disgrace since check-in which was delayed for more than 1 hour as my room was not ready for the time as it should have been. The disgrace continued as I stayed in the room: water, electricity and noise were the issues. These basic things were not at a standard of a 3 star hotel. The water kept on not functioning and going off in the most inappropriate times; I couldn’t shower when I wanted to and couldn’t use the bathroom. The water pressure of the shower was not existing and the hot water was not working properly. Workers were making so much noise below my room at the most inappropriate times and I was not informed about nor moved to another room to ease my discomfort. I heard nailing and drilling right below my room and couldn’t rest in quiet when wanted to. When I tried to outreach to the owner Juanita she kept on reassuring me but no actions were taken to ease my discomfort and my concerns. I was literally left alone with no water on one night and told to use an outside bathroom in the dark with no light. This is not just a clear lack of customer service and hospitality but also disrespectful towards me as a human being. Especially as Tingum is not cheap; if you want to be cheap then you cannot charge those prices. And Juanita kept on promising to refund me fully and she never did. I tried to outreach to her multiple times after my stay and she never replied nor said a message of apologies. Tingum is fraud and it made me feel embarrassed to have my guest staying in this “so called hotel”.
Beautiful, cute place. Friendly staff.
What a great little family establishment! The staff couldn’t be more accommodating and when we had a slight inconvenience they comped our dinner! It’s very quite and peaceful, and only a short walk to the main part of town or the beach. I will definitely be staying here when we return!
Tingum Village 17th and 18th of February 2025. We actually booked our trip to Tingum Villlage Hotel via Agoda but for some reason I cannot find any way or writing a review on the Agoda website. This may possibly be because Agoda, despite accepting our payment and sending us a booking number, had double booked us at the Tingum Village. I must emphsise that this was not the fault of the hotel and they were most apologetic and ended up upgrading us as the room we'd booked was aready taken. Everybody the the hotel was super helpful. We enjoyed a quiet drink in their characterful bar while they dealt with the situation. We ate at the restaurant both nights of our stay and really enjoyed the ambience and food. The accomdation was clean and comfortable and if we end up visiting Harbour Island again we will most certainly be booking a room with them. The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of the island a short walk from the beach, marina, shops and restaurants. The staff were lovely to talk with and could not have been more helpful.
Juanita is a wonderful proprietor and custodian of one of the few local owned hotels. We will be back!
It's been 30 years since we were last on Harbour Island. At that time we stayed at a different property and we had dinner a couple of times at Ma Ruby's which we always remembered as a great experience. So this visit we decided to stay at Tingum Village with Ma Ruby's daughter, Juanita. This is a great mid-range property with a number of room options. Our first week we rented a 3 bedroom "cottage" as our daughter and her family joined us. The second week we moved to what I think is called a "deluxe suite" as it was just my wife and I. While not on the beach, you're also not paying those exorbitant beach front prices. We rented a golf cart a few times but you can easily walk virtually anywhere on the island. We spent our daily beach time renting chairs from "Ms V's" which was about a 14 minute walk from Tingum Village. We had a daily continental breakfast of usually a bagel, or toast, or johnny cake and fruit, or order off the menu. Dinners at Ma Ruby's were great and the Native Grouper was exceptional. There are certainly other very good dining options on the island. Juanita and her staff were very friendly and attentive and took very good care of us. The rooms may need of bit of updating but other than low water pressure which seems to be an island wide issue, we were more than satisfied with our accommodations.
Lovely setting. Calm and welcoming.
The Tingum Village is a wonderful spot on Harbour Island. The rooms are amazing and the property has so much charm, from their restaurant/bar to their hammocks around the property. The beach is walking distance and they are steps from the town. They have a lovely spa and the staff is so amazing, friendly and attentive. I can't wait to visit again. --Erika Humphrey
Pros: Excellent Property, lush greenery. Friendliness. Do rent a golf cart during your stay. Cons: Dated rooms, needs a lot of renovations and upgrades and cleaning. Especially with ventilation, room service, water pressure and check by supervisors before guest’s check in.
Weird vibe. We stayed for over $400/night. Location is terrible with noisy generator, roster crows all night and area around it is a junk yard. Definitely got gouged because of late booking and low availability. No house keeping service. Restaurant food was inconsistent. Service is poor and slow, a whole other level to island pace. Room included breakfast. But only the continental breakfast. This was a piece of toasted presliced bagged bread, coffee and a slice of melon. It’s listed for $15 which seems crazy even for Harbour Island. Arthur’s bakery gives omelette, bread and fruit for same price. They don’t allow you to apply the continental breakfast cost to an egg breakfast. Omelette was good some days, bad other, and cost $18 just for the omelette, no toast, no fruit, no potatoes, etc. Roster would crow at 2AM and not stop till light. Location is also outside the best area on busier road. We spent our last 2 nights at another hotel that was more central between the marina and government dock. It was much better and really improved our whole experience. Before we left they went and inspected our room … maybe to make sure we didn’t steal the soap dish … or TV??? Tingum has a weird vibe … like they are laughing all the way to the bank taking advantage of visitors.
Everyone was friendly the only bad thing was there are roosters in the area that make a lot of noise, but it is everywhere on this island having nothing to do with the hotel.
We arrived late in the afternoon to a warm welcome. Not the best timing though as they were having a birthday party. They were in family mode and largely ignored us, their hotel guests. We had booked a room with two beds. The room was not ready and we were asked to wait while they prepared two twin rooms and we could then choose. We ordered a drink, from one of the family at the bar, but were met with complaints about how much effort it was to get from the bar stool and prepare them. An hour later we viewed the room. It was awful, bedding was damp as though it had been sprayed with deodoriser or similar. There was no water in bath room tap. Cupboard door was missing, and the lamps / powerpoints did not work. We understand this is a budget hotel on Harbour Island, but the twin rooms on offer are sub-standard. We were moved to two very nice separate rooms. They were 100 times better than the twin rooms they offer and we appreciated the ‘upgrade’. The mattress though was still in plastic which made for interesting sleeping. It needs to be ‘unwrapped’ - thanks :)
Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay.
The staff are so amazingly accommodating and friendly. Do all they can to go out of the way to help in any way possible.
Very Friendly staff. Enjoyed our short stay very much. Clean room and comfortable bed.
We had a wonderful experience. The staff was amazing and Juanita was very helpful. She helped us set up a great excursion. We loved the food and drinks as well.
We had an absolutely lovely time. We came here on our honeymoon and they upgraded us the honeymoon suite free of charge. Literally the nicest people ever. Tingham is an incredible option if you're staying on Harbour island. Baby Ruby is a gem of a person. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
We stayed here in December 2024. First and foremost this is an honest review without emphasizing short comings or negativity. I’m more about making human connection growing up in a developing country myself. Having said so here is my honest review: We walked by Tingum during our stay at Coral Sand. I immediately loved the lush green. We spoke to Crystal and requested if she can pick us up from Coral Sand on Friday the 20th December. That was the day we were to check in at Tingum. She said she would come for us at 10 am, but she didn’t come so we had our Coral Sand front desk call her and she stated she was busy. Which was fine but we would have appreciated if she would have let us know by calling Coral Sand. Eventually Coral sand gave us a ride to Tingam since it would have been a long walk with our luggage from one place to the other. Also, we had to reach Eleuthera for a day trip by 11 am on that day so we were on a tight time crunch. Once we arrived though Crystal was welcoming, gave us complementary water, took us to our room and also gave us a ride to the dock since we were really running late. She was kind enough to pick us up as well at the end of that day from the dock. The ROOM: I’m not going to sugar coat this but the rooms need a lot of TLC. The furniture was dated, the shower faucet was broken and water pressure was very low. We had to flush the toilet twice and hold down the flush knob. The room had a weird smell I thought lighting up a candle would get rid of that. There was one fully melted (not usable) next to the Jacuzzi bath tub (that we didn’t use). I lighted another which was more than half used tropical flavor candle that was also there, but the candle made the smell worse. We met a couple whom we saw hanging out in the breakfast area for 3 days in a row and working in their mac books. My husband said that maybe their room stinks too! I wish we were given a room on the second floor so that we can at least open the door to the patio but I didn’t have the heart to ask since as I said people were so nice. They even put a heart shape with fresh Bougainvillea flower on bed the day of our check in. The bed sheet didn’t look clean and no one came to clean our room either (changing bed sheet, replenish toiletries etc.) in the duration of our two days stay. The hammock right in front of our room I decided to lay on our checkout day only to find out that a corner of it was broken. THE FOOD: We had dinner here on the day we checked in. I ordered the cheeseburger since I heard so many stories already. I felt that the portion size could have been better since it was from the dinner menu. I did like the traditional Goombay Smash drink. On our checkout day we also met Juanita the daughter of the owner. I’m glad to be able to have a conversation and exchange gift with her! I also found out that we could have used a pool that was down the street. I was wondering about it since I did recall seeing a picture of a pool before booking this place but couldn’t find it in the premises. Pros: Excellent Property, lush greenery. Friendliness. Do rent a golf cart during your stay. Cons: Dated rooms, needs a lot of renovations and upgrades and cleaning. Especially with ventilation, room service, water pressure and check by supervisors before guest’s check in.
Do not be deceived by the pictures! If you want running hot water, no noise at midnight and staff that truly care, stay somewhere else! We were supposed to stay 5 nights. Left after 2. Would never return calls or emails about a partial refund. Never ever again!!!
Room was too small. Secada bugs and chickens very loud.
Very nice and accommodating staff.
Beautiful seetin5 wonderful sataff thabjs for everything Fridge
Quite well maintained cared for the people staying there
Beautiful property and locally owned by a loving family. They treat their guest like family and make you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. Also loved that they have a small restaurant and bar in the front. The rooms were clean and strong working A/C. The shower water was a little in the cold side but otherwise I loved it!
The biggest disappointment was the Customer Service at the hotel. The trip I had long awaited for unfortunately flight was canceled due to the airlines fault, but they did not respond when I reach out to the hotel to let them know what was going on. Even after booking agent contacted the hotel they did not respond right away by phone. Later on after I have reached out to them and they didn’t not response, it took a few days but then they responded saying that they will not be giving me a refund other hotels give me refund when I let them know that I could not use the room due to some emergency reason that is of no fault of my own. Tingum village hotel was the worst because they never reach out to me personally to try to make things better for me even if I had given them a bad review they could have given me a refund to change the review but they never did because they would rather steal my $ for two people to stay there for seven days. they are taking advantage of vulnerable customers whose flight was canceled and there were many. I will give no Star if I could!
We had a wonderful two night stay. The service was great and a very friendly staff.
I would of rated it a 5 star if we had WiFi access for TV in room, instead of going where the lobby was just to have internet access.
Slightly outdated and showers were a struggle but the beds were comfortable and clean
Tingum Village was our favorite part of the Bahamas vacation and we did everything there was to do on Harbour Island. We were given authentic Bahamian hospitality. Baby Ruby and all her staff took such good care of us- and were available at all times of the day and night providing sunburn cream, extra towels, and advise about what to do. The restaurant food was delicious, and Mike, our Bahamian chef, even cooked the fish we caught from the boats that day. The continental breakfast was perfect and the coffee was the best on the island. The beach was a short walk and so was the harbor. The internet did not work great and the water pressure in the shower was a little light, but it didn't matter a bit. Air conditioning was awesome and cabins very comfortable and clean. The porch and hammock in the gardens were perfect for a shaded afternoon nap. We loved staying here, and when it was time to leave...I misplaced my cards and they came in to help me look. She found where I had put them but didn't remember. They even gave us a ride to the dock to catch the water taxi. Tingum also had brand new golf cart rentals. We highly recommend the Tingum experience and we can't say enough great things about this gem of a place.
Thin walls and shower pressure was finicky but other than that decent place
Tingum was a dream! From the second we got there everyone was so friendly. Our briland suite was clean and cool. Three AC units, super hot water, large fridge for beer and leftovers. The free breakfast consisted of fruit and bagels which was light and easy to start the day at the beach. Our friends spent a lot more at surrounding hotels and were totally jealous of our setup. Cheeseburger in paradise was written here and it was so accurate. Can’t wait to go back, thanks again yall!!
Very nice stay
Management were very accommodating. They were outstanding. Renting a golf cart gave us access to the magnificent beach.
Beautiful property, amazing staff, 10/10 would recommend anyone to stay here. Juanita is amazing.
Tingum Village is run by a truly magnificent and highly respected local woman named Juanita who's family has deep rooted connections to the island and is heavily involved in supporting the local community. It is not a super luxurious stay (so you should not expect it) but you are made to feel like you belong and the hotel has everything you need to have an enjoyable time (golf carts for rent, fun bar, nice restaurant with live music, and no frills rooms that are comfortable)
Our last night tonight staying at this perfect hotel for our stay in Harbour Island. The hotel is situated in the centre of the island within close proximity to everything. Tingum Village Hotel was everything we needed, we were in the suite and it had everything and was more than comfortable. A light continental breakfast was included but you could order more off the menu if wanted - and the food was lovely. We rented a golf cart - and Juanita was more than helpful and accommodating and has even let us use it to drive with our luggage in the morning to get to the water taxi. We cannot express our thanks enough to Juanita - a real gem of a person, kind and authentic and an amazing host. Juanita has been outstanding and so welcoming - thank you for making our holiday even better than we imagined. We will definitely be back! Cate and Rob Gray x
Juanita and the team treat you like family. Tingum Village is an island gem with clean updated rooms. They have an incredible restaurant too!
Had a great, relaxing time here. Buildings are old, but clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water, cold air conditioning, comfortable bed, etc. Owner of the business was present every day and was extremely welcoming and did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The whole place has a very warm "family" atmosphere to it. Would definitely stay here again. Might be the best option when it comes to affordable lodging on an otherwise fairly expensive island.
It’s a cool secluded experience away from the tech, hustle and bustle. Looking to completely disconnect, this is the solution. #hideaway
The staff was truly amazing very warm and welcoming- the property is tired needs attention
We liked the rooms and the setting, and the staff was very friendly and the food was good, but nothing worked. The internet/wifi was down throughout our stay so the tv didn’t work which wasn’t a big deal except when it was raining, and the jacuzzi tub didn’t work, which had been sort of touted to us for the room we’d booked. Then the morning of our departure the water was off so we couldn’t wash up before we left. Much of this was blamed on local infrastructure but if outages like that are customary why not invest in a generator? Especially for the price we were paying.
Wonderful friendly staff
Juanita and staff make you feel at home! Cozy room, great location, and delicious food. Would stay here any time I'm on the island!
Harbour Island is an incredibly magical place and there are a lot of ways to experience it. You could stay in a super fancy resort on the beach, tie up your yacht in the marina, or AirBnb a tucked away house. Tingum Village is the place you go if you want to feel embedded in the island community- and it’s a beautiful, kind, generous and centered community. Ma Ruby is the hard working, problem solving, island historian and caring host. We will be back and we’ll stick to Tingum. There are fancier places, but this family owned hotel is priceless.
So authentic! Juanita and her staff are wonderful. Thanks for a great trip!#
Although it’s not a fancy or posh hotel for Harbor Island, we really loved it. For us it was fabulous! It’s excellent value for money compared to how expensive everything else is in Harbor Island. We also loved the local Bahamian owners and staff, we loved the way the chickens run loose around the place, and the informality of this hotel. We were upgraded upon arrival to one of their better rooms which was very nicely decorated in floaty white, clean and the ensuite bathroom always had plenty of hot water, we also had a a little fridge and microwave. I do not know if the other rooms are as attractively decorated because I did not see them. The rooms are bungalows and nestled amongst coconut trees and gorgeous lush vegetation. We found the hotel restaurant to be great value for money. I had a wonderful tasty toasted grouper sandwich. The menu is Bahamian typical foods such as conch fritters etc. we rented our golf buggies from the hotel and also booked a fantastic half day guided tour of North Eleuthera with Ferguson who is a taxi driver/guide and knows Juanita, the Owner of the hotel. This was truly memorable and worth every penny. If you want an authentic island stay with great local friendly hosts at a reasonable price with a central location and don’t mind some of the quirks of the place, then this is the place to stay!
The owner, Juanita, is *awesome* - as is her entire staff! Really enjoyed our stay and getting to know some of her family history. We would certainly choose to stay here again on our next visit to Harbour Island.
Baby Ruby was absolutely amazing! She and everyone else there treated us like family and catered to all of our needs. We missed them as soon as we left but look forward to visiting again!
A quaint older resort that my wife and I love. Mostly cabins. Great food. No pool, but who needs a pool at Harbour Island? Each room comes with a golf cart and gas and the very, very nearby beaches are incredible!!!
We enjoy the personal touch. And lovely accommodations
The staff was very nice and accommodating. The internet service went down on the island and that made payment for food, drink and general services difficult.
Wonderful stay
Luke Ruby was spectacular and super helpful. She made my birthday great!!!
This was the best place to stay. Friendly, kind, genuine, family -run business. I had a family emergency, and Juanita helped in every way to make my shortened experience there the best experience. Most of all, she spent her time and solved my problem of getting home quickly to my family. Thank you, Juanita!
People were exceptional
The owner was the kindest, most personable person I ever met!such a great experience!
How could I rate something if they didn't have a room for us on our arrival date due to overbooking (the owner said a glitch on the system) on our arrival date I was bounced around and didn't get an answer, went to the alternative hotel that according to the owner she booked 2 rooms for us and they didn't have any reservations for us! I started calling other properties and finally got 2 rooms for the length of my stay. Called Expedia next day via chat (with Ahmet) and he helped me out with the cancellation of this reservation? who was never honored by the owner of Tingum. This person at Tingum told Ahmet that she had upgraded us and reserved rooms for us at the Romora, when I called them they had never heard about a reservation on our name and/or from Tingum. I am not going to make any reviews about this place as they don't deserve good and/or bad comments, but if they can't honor a reservation they shouldn't be accepting any electronic reservations through Expedia. By the way, Ahmet was efficient, friendly and professional helping me solve this problem, thanks for your great work! This Island is very expensive and we were traveling for work (crewmembers of a private aircraft) luckily we solved the lodging problem still within budget as the other alternatives were almost double the price or of very low quality.
Juanita and her staff are very friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel special. Delicious meals too . Thank you .
Management and staff at Tingum Village made us feel very much at home!
I had a flight cancelled last minute so i booked a stay here and i have to say that the staff were the most friendly staff i have ever encountered anywhere i have ever stayed. They made me feel so welcomed after a super stressful day. It was a cute little hotel and i would stay here again if i was on harbour island. Thank you for your hospitality !!!
Juanita knows everyone and it shows. When travel to the island went awry she made arrangements and stayed late to get us checked in welcome us home. Food is great and local. Tips of where to go and explore are perfect. After adventurous days you can rest wel. The beaches are amazing and at times you feel like no one else is on the beach and much of the time that’s true. Local food is awesome and the vibe is chill. Should have stayed more days here. We will be back.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
They were out of guest sized shampoo, and we never had internet or TV in our room…. so in a way it forced us to unplug, but it also forced us to dine there less, because we went to other sites for internet and TV. Extremely nice staff, great location.
Great place
Loved our stay! The staff made us feel like home right away. The cook at the restaurant there was great too! Could use some updates but we didnt mind because it was very clean, and just felt great to be there.
Ma Ruby is super friendly and helpful, happy to chat with the guests and recommend places to go! Rooms are not fancy, but they are clean and the property is central to beaches and restaurants.
SO…we got stranded at the airport due to a cancelled flight at 9pm at night. Eleuthera is a tiny island where everything ends pretty early and we were terrified as we were traveling with our 3 children, youngest is 6. The nicest man Harrison who was in a taxi (we just blindly got in a taxi because we didn’t know what else to do) made a call and thank goodness Tingum had a room because of a cancellation. We literally walked into Paradise. Everyone was so welcoming, and they opened the kitchen to make sure we had dinner as we hadn’t eaten since breakfast. The grounds and room were so beautiful and the people so nice. They turned what was a terrible situation into a fun evening where we got to stay in a beautiful place and meet beautiful people. We are literally planning our next trip back to stay there as we drive home. To the Percentie Family and staff and friends who were there last night, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!! ❤️
The property is in need of repairs.
We loved our stay. Juanita made sure we had a golf cart when we got there. Staff was welcoming and the food was good. Will stay there again.
I’ve never met a more tentative and caring hotel owner than Juanita. AKA Baby Ruby! She runs a tight ship and she and her staff couldn’t be more kind. If she felt something wasn’t up to her liking or standard, she made sure it was taken care of. I loved my “Deluxe Standard” room. It definitely reflected the feel of a true Bahamian setting. By the time our visit was over, we felt like family and were talking plans for the future. Juanita definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! There are a few friendly roosters on the property, so if you’re a light sleeper bring along some ear plugs. Highly recommend the Tingum Village Hotel.
If I could rate higher than excellent, I would. Juanita was incredible in every way. She was the perfect hostess and she and her staff treated our group of 9 people like family. If you are looking for an authentic Bahamian experience then you should book with Tingum Village. I know we will be back.
Very friendly people. Nice Bahamian experience.
the property as unique and authentic. Rooms needed more amenities such as a trash can, towel racks and a dresser.
The vibe is immaculate. The woman that runs the hotel is the nicest person on the island. She is so nice and seems like so much fun. Ms. Juanita gave us recommendations and fun things to do while we stayed with them. I really enjoyed my time there and will definitely go back. If you get a chance to meet Ms. Karuna, she's awesome. I will definitely be coming back one time in my life. The restaurant is also quite good. MUST GO SEE PINK SAND.
Tingum Village is rustic, but overall in a good way. The shower could use some improvement and there could be a toilet paper holder on the wall right next to the toilet. Nonetheless, the grounds and surroundings are quite superb and charming with much greenery, and the staff are amazing and friendly and go out of their way to help when needed. The place has a real, authentic Bahamian feeling that isn't necessarily present at many other, more expensive hotels. A piece of advice for future travellers...in certain sections you do need a flashlight to walk through at night because it could get quite dark.
The Briland roosters are very unique on this Island, but they do wake you up at 4:00 am.
All of the above
We stayed at the tingum for one night. There was no hot water, in our very filthy bathroom. we told the woman working and she acted surprised but offered no solution or apology. Based on previous reviews the water pressure and temp have always been an issue. The site advertises bar and restaurant on site but they were both closed. There were a copious amount of roosters that started shrieking at 2am till 6am right outside our room which made our sleep absolutely awful. Even though the food was shut down they said they’d still honor our continental breakfast which was 4 grapes and half of a banana. Pretty overpriced for what they offer, especially when what they offer isn’t included when you get there.
This was a the perfect local hotel, or really like a bed and breakfast. The owner is super helpful and attentive. The rooms were well maintained and clean. For a real Bahamian feel, Tingum Village is the place to stay.
We loved our stay at Tingum Village where Juanita and staff created a welcoming place to stay, eat and drink. Of our 10 days on Harbor Island, this is where we felt most connected to the local people. We didn't feel like tourists here. They performed a lot of extras for us like upgrading our room and picking us up from the boat dock when we first landed. We spoke to the chef and got to know him a bit and Juanita was a pleasure to talk to and get to know. I would venture to say, this is one of the more authentic places to stay on Harbor Island and well worth a visit.
