For the room rate, a modest continental breakfast should be included
Lovely helpful staff. Beautiful view. Very comfy bed.
There is aircraft noise. Not surprising or very persistant but the 6am take-off was disturbing and would deter me from staying again.
The location is fantastic, and the staff were excellent. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable.
Too expensive
Great facilities for a reasonable price
Check out time was 10am which is far too early
Great location on waterfront near shopping restaurants,.The attached restaurant was excellent. The room was modern, clean and quite spacious.
It met all expectations.
Good place to stay, near airport and ship terminal
Fantastic location. Beautifully decorated with gorgeous rapacious rooms. Impeccably clean. Comfortable beds, fridge and coffee /tea bar. Nice selection of teas and Nespresso. Even had real cream in the fridge. Sofa and small table with comfortable chairs in all rooms. Love the big windows and easy slide down sunshade blinds and blackout curtains. Beautiful bathrobes provided for each guest in room as well as slippers. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would love to stay here again for a weekend retreat.
I wish they had a hot tub. They do have a steam room in the spa, although we didn’t have a chance to use it. The bathroom could use a make-up mirror, and we found the lighting quite dim. The bathroom light switch is also located outside the bathroom, which is a little inconvenient in the middle of the night when you’re trying not to wake anyone. Providing a small night light in the bathroom would be a helpful addition.

Wonderful location, great staff, lovely view and close to everything in Sidney. Very relaxing stay.
Price is very expensive- must have risen since their renos.
Located in the cutest neighbourhood close to amazing boutiques and restaurants.
I recommend that the senior management team at Sidney Pier Hotel spend an afternoon walking around the waterfront area. There is a clear misalignment in the property's focus. The actual demographic on the waterfront heavily skews toward individuals aged 60+, yet the hotel amenities are geared toward a much younger crowd.
Location is fantastic
Great location, lovely spacious room with fantastic view. Comfortable beds and lovely, immaculate bathroom
Would have been good to have some water supplied in the minibar/fridge. Also, we had a fancy coffee maker with assorted coffee pods and tea bags supplied but no means of making tea e.g. kettle
Newly refurbished it is a beautiful design and very lovely
The light fixture, mirror and table/chairs were not aligned. Really hard for a Type A personality
Very clean rooms, friendly cleaning staff and front desk staff helpful regarding restaurant choices.
The fact that the billing was to be emailed to me because of computer problems. However, I had to remind them and then my bill was sent to my sister.
It was so quiet! One of the quietest I’ve ever stayed at! We also loved the sliding door window and our ocean view! The beds were good too.
Only thing was no room service available as they don’t have a hotel-owned restaurant.
Excellent location. Restaurant more like a bar, very noisy, wouldn’t go there again.
No fine dining in the hotel.
Location to ocean, ferries and Beacon Ave
No restaurant open for lunch
Clean
Expensive and had to pay extra for parking
The Sydney Pier Hotel is stunning. It was recently remodeled and updated and great thought went into the design. The rooms are generously sized with inviting furniture, beautiful bathrooms, and a view of the water. Staff at reception are friendly and remember you. Outside there is a walk along the water front and a pier. I can't wait to go back.
Beautiful renovations done to rooms.
This hotel has been totally refinished since our stay last year! It is MUCH improved and VERY nice!
It doesn’t have soft close toilet seats.
Great Gym and steam room
Could use a hot tub
I loved this modern hotel beside the water in the very lovely town of Sidney. My room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a large bathroom, and lots of wardrobe and suitcase storage space. I could see the sea from the big glass doors which opened out onto a courtyard. The bed was large and very comfortable with good lighting options for reading. There was a coffee maker and options for tea making in the large Sidney Pier mugs (which you can also purchase), and a fridge - which is very handy, as there is a well stocked supermarket on the other side of the roundabout. The room was very quiet and had good air conditioning. There is a restaurant in the same complex and a cafe which is open during the mornings for coffee and sandwiches/pastries. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and really went the extra mile to assist with bookings and queries. I’m very pleased I chose to stay in Sidney, it is a beautiful small town, with good walking options, good public transport, and on the bay. The bus ride to Victoria was about an hour, but that town was super busy with cruise ships in port, it was nice to return to the haven of the Sidney Pier Hotel at the end of the day. The main Victoria airport is only about 5 minutes by car. And the ferries at Schwarz Bay are only about 10-15 minutes drive, and the buses go directly there.
Nothing
Sidney is a quiet, scenic seaside town with nice walks and a few food restaurants. The Pier is a great place to stay. Well located, quiet, and comfortable. We had an unfortunate incident during our stay - and the management dealt with it in an exemplary way. We would definitely stay here again.
Elegant, clean, comfortable. Rooms are spacious. The all natural, beautifully scented body care made a wonderful touch. Towels are Plush. Coffee and touches of hot chocolate and mugs was lovely.
Staff super kind. Great location. Room perfectly clean and bed very comfortable.

Did not have breakfast there. But had to tush to catch the next ferry
Better directions from parking garage
Great location
Coffee machine
This u er modern hotel is lovely and our room was very tastefully. Bedding was superb. Our welcome was very friendly and professional. Parking onsite is available but there is plenty of free and safe on street parking on offer very close to the hotel. It is in a great location on the waterfront. BUT it is expensive at ~CAD$470 per night and does not even include breakfast. So I have to mark it down for not being good value for money unfortunately.
We could have used more coffee pods and the sheets weren’t on the pullout cot.
No bottled water in the room and front desk wanted to charge $4.00 per bottle. This should not happen at a 4 star hotel!
Location x 3. On the water. Close to everything.
Nothing
Good location n clean
No breakfast included Parking need to pay extra No gym no swimming pool No kettle Need to give gratitude for cleaning staffs?? What they charge for room rate they should be able to pay their staff well.
Gorgeous, newly refurbished room, beautifully decorated. A great location for exploring the charms of downtown Sidney. I'd love to stay here again!
Pricey, but that's to be expected with a waterfront location.
Good location.
Overpriced
I liked that the room I requested was honoured when I made the booking. I always book the same suite every visit.
We asked for our room to be made up one day and the bare minimum was done. I would have just asked for new towels. Aside from that the cleaning staff were very kind when we would chat in the hall.
Early check in & later check out…very accommodating. Good suggestion for nice ladies lunch at the Bistro.
Train noises but understand the difficulties in correcting that??
Clean, modern, spacious. Great property.
Nothing - wish the restaurants and stores in the immediate area stayed open later but nothing regarding the property itself that I didn’t like.
Great location on the water, clean comfortable and spacious rooms, helpful and friendly staff
The room was spacious. The view was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable.
I did not like the coffee machine and there was no creamer or whitener. It made only a small amount of coffee. One of the treats I look forward to when away on vacation is coffee in bed when I wake up. It was disappointing.
Sadly we arrived at the hotel after 9 pm and had to be out the next morning by 10. But we hung around the area for the rest of the day and were very pleased with location, cleanliness, comfort and though short, an all round wonderful stay in the heart of Sidney by the Sea. Parking at the hotel should be free though. It’s a bit chintzy to charge for parking at a high cost hotel. 🏨
Having to pay for parking 🙁
Everything. Staff are great. Very good experience
Price is expensive More lights in the bathroom to put on make up. Those lights are very dim
Newly remodeled suite with spectacular sea views!
Wished I could have stayed longer!
We stopped off here before flying out from Victoria Airport. Hotel was perfect for that and we were pleasantly surprised by Sidney itself.
Location & attentive staff
View to the buildings rather than ocean view
Were there for our wedding anniversary (too many years to mention lol). What a beautiful room! Spacious, clean, exquisite decor, honestly can’t say enough. We were on the second floor and we had a little patio with a view of the ocean. Was open glass so no privacy but not a big deal. Check in was great, as was check out. Kudos to these lovely gentlemen. Received some great recommendations for dinner which was very much appreciated. There was also a Thursday market on Main Street. Did not give a 5 rating as missed a few details; the wifi password, check out time, the $15 parking fee, and asked for some more decaf coffee pods (only had 1 in the room and were told if he gave us any more he’d have to charge (this was a bummer attitude. Other than these few mentions, we had a wonderful stay and will return!
only there for the night but I was wishing we could have stayed longer.Lovely surroundings on the waterfront
This hotel is a Holliday Inn with 4x the price. A basic hotel room. You also pay for parking?? Then, you get 2 pods of coffee and if you ask for more they charge you. They treat you like a bother. I will never recommend them. They honestly are not friendly, dont appreciate their customers, and make you feel like you should thank them at 550.00 a night. Stay elsewhere. We did when we left and are so thankful to be in a more humble hotel. Do your research. This is an overpriced nightmare.
Hotel was gorgeous, great location and a beautiful property
Housekeeping was very weak
The staff was very friendly, with helpful suggestions for restaurants nearby. The 24-hour parking in the basement of the building was quite reasonable. We had a nice view from our room, and good amenities in the room.
The HVAC system in the room was quite noisy and we didn't sleep well, and the bed was a little hard, with sheets that could have been softer.
Breakfast was delightfully varied with original baking. Lighting in the bathroom was very poor for putting on makeup, or for men shaving. The room was exceptionally clean with a great view, thick towels and housecoats.
Better lighting in the bathroom for makeup
No breakfast available. The staff (Jenny, Patrick and Christie?) were excellent - soooo friendly and accommodating. Can’t speak highly enough of them.
The mattress and bedding were not very comfortable. The sheets were a little rough, and the mattress itself not firm enough so that every time I tried to turn, I would just sink into the mattress and got ‘stuck’.
The hotel was located right in the harbor with an excellent restaurant. As a bonus, the facility was powered entirely by the Salish Sea via geothermal energies. Also, the staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating.

Location, recently refurbished rooms
We did not eat breakfast at the hotel
I would have liked a makeup mirror in the bathroom . The lighting is the bathroom was kinda low for applying makeup.
The Sidney Pier is a beautiful property on the water, literally in the town. Rooms have been renovated so it feels brand new. Staff are pleasant and responsive.
Location
The staff were amazing and friendly. The hotel and location were beautiful.
Was charged twice in error and refund was not immediate. WiFi password never worked.
Location and condition.
WiFi disconnected at time of checkout and not at 3 PM as the login said.
The view from our room was good but for the price point we should have had an ocean room at the end that wasn’t overlooking a roof and no patio access.
Location is beautiful.
On site dining is limited.
Great walking path along the water which includes art metal sculptures, a 2.5 km heart walk, the glass beach and lots of restaurants plus easy drive to Butchart Gardens
The location is perfect. Beautiful sunrise. Close to restaurants and shopping. The suite is newly renovated with heated towel bar in the master bath. The bedroom in the grand suite is very tight to manoeuvre around the bed and dresser. Otherwise very nice.
Construction goin on in hotel, a little messy.
Location, location!
There was no breakfast???
A microwave in the room would have come in handy.
Lovely renovation. Very comfortable bed, bedding and pillows.
Bath/shower guard allows a lot of water to escape onto the floor.
Late arrival due to delayed flight. Night clerk was very helpful and attentive. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We managed to get a good sleep after a full day of travel.
Nothing to complain about really. Wifi didn’t work, but not a big deal as we were headed for bed anyway. We would have liked the ability for a second cup of coffee, as there are only two Nespresso pods in the room ( decaf doesn’t count)

Love the new gym!!!!! Super impressed by the quality of the equipment!
They accepted my dog, and I was able to come and go at all hours so he could relieve himself. The gym was awesome, and of course, Sidney is a lively little town.
I wished we'd had a proper on suite kitchen, but none was available with my late booking. We managed, though!
The location was pretty good. The room was nicely set up and decorated. The view from the room was nice.
They wouldn't give us enough coffee (and didn't even offer us the ability to pay for more coffee). When paying nearly $500 for a night in a hotel room it would be nice to not be nickel-and-dimed.
Everything.
Coffee shop. Brilliant Great staff Food excellent.
Everything thing was perfect.
fine, location OK
no free breakfast
While expensive the Sidney Pier Hotel offers an unparalleled location in the sweet town of Sidney, BC. The rooms are large, very elegantly furnished and well equipped. Lovely Nespresso coffee machine! Beds are super comfy and the soap/lotion products of excellent quality. We always leave feeling like we had a day at a spa retreat - even if we don't use the spa which is also wonderful.
Very nice
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon!
I loved everything about it. The location is excellent and across the road from the beach and walking distance to everything. The room was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The fluffy soft robes and slippers in the room made me feel at home. It is also conveniently adjacent to a coffee shop and bakery that opens 7 am in the morning if you feel like an early morning coffee and snack. I have only good things to say about the hotel. I would love to go back for a longer stay at the hotel.
We always stay at this hotel in Sidney as we feel so welcomed by the staff. The location is excellent and makes for easy walking throughout the town and down by the ocean. Our room is always clean and it's very nice to have a coffee shop in the lobby. Food is excellent!
Cosy, comfortable, well appointed, coffee machine and kettle and all other amenities present including very fluffy robes. Great parking facility underneath the hotel. Excellent views of the ocean.
No problems with the hotel itself which was excellent. Shame there were no restaurants run by the hotel on site. Had lunch in the independent restaurant on site and could not get mayonnaise to go with my salad with two servers, had to have a third before I received some and food of very dubious quality.
Great location on the waterfront. A place where locals and tourists alike walk their dogs and enjoy expansive views and great service.
Super friendly staff & very clean & comfortable rooms. Beautiful location right on the water with a nice outdoor walking path which runs across the back of the property.
This property is located in a premium location along the waterfront close to shopping and a wide variety of restaurants. We chose a suite and enjoyed the convenience of the grocery, fish market, liquor store and local dining options all within walking distance. Watching all of the activity on the Salish Sea either through the enormous glass windows on a stormy day, from the balcony or while walking along the harbour filled our days. The only drawbacks for some (not us) might be the sound of the early morning flights coming into and out of the airport. My disappointment was the spa. It did not offer the full package of services each day, so I was not able to take advantage. Maybe on another trip.
Location, bed was firm compared to most hotels
