Friendly welcome, lovely spacious clean room with all amenities. Great breakfast.
Very nice location, great breakfast,
Bed too small for 2 people
Location was excellent for the town. Clean and modern facilties in an old inn. The staff were polite.
I booked on the basis of reveiw scores , without reading all the details. These became clear in the pre stay communication. These took me back to the 1970s staying with a landlady in Blackpool in that there is a night time curfew. After arriving, it was explained that I had to leave the key when we went out and that breakfast had to be booked item by item the previous evening. Our room was modernised and with good drink making facilities but the shower room created by partitioning off a corner of a bedroom, left the bedroom itself with limited space. I was happy to supply my details prior to arriving thus saving time. I was less keen to supply some information requested on the form such as my passport details or driving licence details. This is very suspicious information harvesting. I missed these sections and submitted the form. There is no justification to ask these questions for a prepaid credit card booking.
Excellent staff great location. A must is to use the restaurant excellent food!
Bed too hard and not long enough { I’m 6ft 3}. A bit dark but that in keeping with the character of the building.
Beautifully decorated room with everything we needed. Modern and clean yet all without detracting from the very old building.

Location was great, beautiful old building
A bit noisy
It was quaint and very clean. The room had everything you could possibly need.
We were in the very top attic which was decked out beautifully but I am a little claustrophobic so I would have preferred to be lower down and the staircase was very steep with luggage, although the staff kindly offered to help with that.
Good central position, all staff very friendly and helpful, great breakfast in lovely surroundings
The place has tonnes of character, the room was really nice and clean and the mattress was amazing and breakfast was great!

Aanrader!
Geen haardroger op de kamer
Welcoming manager. Great spaceous room. Comfortable and very clean. Brilliant breakfast.
Nothing really, perhaps that it has no parking.
What an absolute gem we found. We only had two nights but would easily of stayed for longer, the rooms are so cute and very clean. The food in the pub itself is amazing and all the staff were absolutely lovely, I Will definitely be staying here again when visiting Wales.

Central to town
Nothing all fantastic
Characterful, comfortable, clean, lots of stylish and thoughtful touches, good location (opposite car park), great staff - altogether a very nice inn.
They don't serve dinner on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Fair enough, but it would have been useful to have been made aware on booking, but there is a decent-enough choice of eating-places nearby.
Very cosy authentic old hotel in the middle of town. Very friendly and helpful staff, good facilities in the room, very clean. A very good choice if you want to explore nature in Brecon Beacons.
Perfect location and the staff are wonderful. I was in a single room and the bed was more than big enough - though the mattress was a little lumpy in places. Rooms were incredibly clean and nicely furnished. Lovely breakfast and you order in advance so there was no waiting - perfect!
Had dinner at the hotel - a buddha bowl - and it was not what I was expecting. I would expect some kind of grains with it and definitely not deep fried cheese?
Lovely room, friendly staff, good breakfast, parking close by...
All good
Very convenient location in town.
STRESSFUL! Room booked in 4th april . On 30 June, 3 weeks before arriving at the hotel, we were told in an email from the hotel a party would be happening in the room below us until midnight which would be noisey. Leaving it so late no other hotels were available in the town to go elesewhere. Called hotel saying they should have told me earlier, grumpily they managed to find me 2 singles not a double in the same building but further from the event Dinner was also stressful. We booked early as we were told that would give us plenty of time before the event we were attending. WRONG. 47 minutes to get the main served after finishing starter and that took many attempts to get attention of serving staff. Almost had to cancel desert which turned out to be highlight of the meal! Breakfast was slow due to failed boiler. Food was served acceptably fast, but Coffee was not served until we reminded wait staff we were still waiting for it after we finished eating the food! Will definitely go elsewhere next time i return to the town
Conveniently situated. Excellent breakfast!
Small room overlooking courtyard so a bit noisy.
L'emplacement, le bar/restaurant très convivial
Nice position, parking near by, very welcome staff and comfortable room.
The hotel is part of a pub that has a long history. The building is old so the floors and walls are crooked which is quite charming and the hotel is very close to the large free car park and the high street
Comfy beds . Very clean.Friendly staff in all departments. High recommended 👌. Fan in our room was great too as very hot !
Caratteristica è personale molto gentile

Ambience, decor and the building itself. Efficient staff. Dunner and breakfast were excellent.
Staff very friendly
Very nice and helpful staff. Good location and breakfast. Good reading light in the room.
The room was noisy from the pub guests socializing outside.
Premises, staff & breakfast were good Location to the town great.
Beds & pillows uncomfortable. Bed too soft & pillows too hard. During the function being attended (funeral) I unfortunately found a long black hair within the mini burger I had chosen
A warm welcome, excellent service and lovely room - highly recommend

Lovely welcome, great breakfast and cosy room
Location , cleanliness and staff all so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely return as everything perfect.
Nothing to dislike
In the heart of town with easy parking. Great features and modern facilities. Great coffee.
Could be noise from customers of the pub.
Very clean and comfy beds. Breakfast good and staff helpful
Parking was in pay car park
A lovely place in the heart of Abergavenny. We had the loft room no 11 which was beautiful. Spotlessly clean and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was gorgeous with a slipper bath. We didn’t eat in the evening but our breakfast was very nice. Maybe a little choice of cereals would be good but that’s just my personal preference. Staff very polite and friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Nothing to dislike

Town centre location. Friendly, efficient booking in procedure and helpful staff from the outset. My four poster en suite bedroom was spotlessly clean. Quite inspiring! The restaurant was closed on the night of my stay, but breakfast the following day was first class. I thoroughly enjoyed my accommodation at The Kings Arms Hotel and will book again when I next visit Abergavenny. Highly recommended.
I have no adverse comments.
Exceiinet breakfast, the hotel manager was very helpful, loved the room. Would love to come back.
Excellent service and good quality produce
No hot water on the Saturday evening stay
Great location. Beautifully renovated and very clean. Smashing pub and Indian restaurant downstairs and all the staff were lovely 🤗
Little bit noisy at night but l suppose that’s what you get when you stay on the main high street.
Great location and friendly, helpful staff
This was true of all hotels of this vintage, no a/c in the room, but the fan provided was good

zeer vriendelijk personeel.,mooie propere kamer, goed ontbijt
Central position. Clean spacious room, nicely decorated in keeping with the history of the hotel. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious
Highly recommended. Staff couldn’t do enough to help. Definitely coming back.
Breakfast was tasty and cooked just the way I like it .Good choice and the orange fruit juice was just as good as you could expect. What ticked all the boxes for us was the the care and practical help we had when we arrived and throughout our stay as my partner is unstable when walking
In our minds there was nothing of anu real note to dislike. The very helpful lady who wecomed us put us in the best room available for what we had paid for as earlier we were put in the loft , but beacause of the heatwave that was impractical.
The hotel is over 400 years old and still has many original features like oak beams open inglenook fire place uneven floors and wonky doors. But it’s clean and very comfy.
No air con but a large fan provided
Ideal location and spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.

Locality comfortable room
Noise which carried everywhere !
The site manager was so welcoming and extremely helpful enabling my friend to attend an important Teams call before we had checked in. Rooms were lovely and clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and made with good quality ingredients. On one of the hottest nights of the year I was still able to sleep thanks to the staff keeping the room cool during the day. Thanks to all the staff on making us feel welcome
The restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday but the site manager gave us some good recommendations
Staff service. Food in restaurant and at breakfast was hot and plentiful.
Check in was a really nice personable experience, it's nice to be shown to your room so I couldn't have asked for more. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was also really nice.
I got caught out by the parking which isn't on site, although it is fairly close by. There was no dinner available on the day I stayed, even though there is a restaurant on site - this was not evident on booking. Although the room did seem generally clean, some surfaces did seem to be sticky.
Loved the breakfast. Loved being in the town !
Wasn't so happy with the "music " on arrival but heard nothing once we were in our room .
Lle cwyrci yng nghanol y dre. Roedd y staff yn gyfeillgar iawn.
Dim bye.
Excellent service and pleasant people.
Nothing.
The hotel is in a great position, both for the facilities in the town and for the walking trails in the area. The whole building has great character and is kept in first class condition. The breakfast was excellent and catered well for my gluten intolerant partner.

Breakfast was very good. Location was good. Staff were lovely. We visited during a heatwave and unfortunately our room was extremely hot but the staff tried very hard to make it cooler with fans etc.
Nothing.
The hotel exceeded my expectations in every respect. The welcoming staff, efficiency of service, attention to detail, quality of food, quality of items in the room, comfortable bed and thoughtful additions all contributed to an experience which made my visit to Abergavenny so enjoyable. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to those who have not been a guest to it's current hosts.
I cannot fault this hotel in any way.
Location of hotel is perfect, on edge of town, 2 mins walk to shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere of hotel relaxed and welcoming. Breakfast option included in price and option to book an evening meal.
We found the evening menu slightly restricted, but quality of food good and resturaunt very pleasant.
Staff were very friendly. Great old hotel that has been tastefully modernized. Scrumptious breakfast cooked to perfection.
Lovely old building with creaky staircase, wonky floors and some low beams. Very comfortable bed. Lovely staff, good breakfast and snug bar with good beer.
I loved everything about my stay. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive, the room was spotless and comfortable, and the location was perfect. A really enjoyable experience from start to finish.
The only downside to our stay was the strict 11pm return policy. We found a lovely pub nearby and ended up chatting with the landlady, who invited us to stay for a late drink. When we returned slightly after 11pm, the staff member on duty was clearly not impressed, which did put a bit of a dampener on the evening. It would really improve the guest experience if the hotel reviewed its security arrangements so guests can come and go more freely — after all, being able to relax and enjoy your time out is part of what makes a holiday enjoyable.
Sasha was so kind to change our room after realizing we inadvertently booked a twin bed room. It’s is a very historic Inn and we appreciated the sloped floors, low ceilings etc.
Character, charm, comfort and great staff. Great location and my favourite beer on tap (Butty Bach)

Great location, lovely rooms, good food in the restaurant and the staff are so lovely.

I have stayed at this property on numerous occasions, it has always been a good experience. This was not. A real “ computer says no” experience.
I got the impression that the place was in a post bank holiday malaise. The atmosphere was not a positive one, or conducive to a stay. The sink in my room was blocked, and almost overflowed. I mentioned this to the reception staff who stated “ this is an old building, and it was probably a blockage “. My knowledge of plumbing is minimal but , not that bad. An explanation was then given on how to unblock it with some sort of contraption at the back of the sink. It was also made clear that I had to be back at the hotel for 23.00 hrs as there were no reception staff available . I am sure that the signing in material stated 23.30 hrs. I was due to go out for a late dinner at a friends house so cancelled it. This is the first time I have encountered such a negative stay at this hotel, and was sorely disappointed. I booked out and went home .
Beautiful old building, lots of character
Wonderful staff, great size room, super comfy beds and a delicious breakfast. Fantastic location
Lovely staff and atmosphere
Room was great.Just the right size.Lovely breakfast. Excellent friendly service.Great location to explore what Abergavenny has to offer.Would highly recommend.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff made us feel most welcome. Lovely full breakfast.
We didn’t mind at all, but was noticeable noise emanating from the small courtyard. Given it was a bank holiday with a festival going on, was to be expected. However, stopped at 10.30pm and didn’t cause us any problem.
Great location, comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, very good breakfast.

Great location, loved the character of the old building and the staff were excellent along with the breakfast and the evening meal we enjoyed while staying
