Provider-sourced guest reviews.
It was my first time staying at a Gay Guesthouse and it was great. Golf staff member was excellent, he made our trip special by helping us with travel arrangements and history of the Phuket. Especially at breakfast he made each meal to our request. I must say he's the star at Aquarius. He really knows how to make guest feel welcome.
Central location but relatively quiet give it is middle of gay nightlife area. Nothing fancy but facilities adequate.
central to every thing i wanted to do
Room was basic but more than adequate for my four nights stay. Everything worked as ot should do. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels and water were delivered daily unless you wanted otherwise. Chart and his team were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay again
Basic gay men’s GUEST HOUSE accommodation
Value for money. Rooms very basic. Good breakfast. Close to everything.
Spacious room with high ceiling Area and building a little run down. Sauna was good to visit in the afternoon ;) Check in was missing a smile! Quiet and short walk to everything
Staff very friendly. They took care of our tourists questions and guided us to our destinations. Highly recommend this property.
Location
The staff super nice and friendly
Our stay was very enjoyable, we felt like part of the family. They made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond. I was looking for matches for my brother who collects them and couldn’t find them anywhere, I asked Paul where I could get them and he said he didn’t know but he could order them online for me and he did, 3 days later I had them. This was awesome service. We will definitely be back.
Horrible place and experience! Stay away! WiFi is unreliable. Water pressure is bipolar. I was originally in room 307 and early evening I heard a loud sound come from the air conditioner then the smell of burning, it then stopped working, went down to front desk and they moved me to room 207 which was smaller, had sewage smell coming from the bathroom and bed was hard as a rock but I dealt with it. Came back from a night out and the air conditioner wasn’t blowing cold air and it was 80 some degrees and of course they don’t have anyone at the front desk at night time and with no number posted on who to call or contact so I was stuck sweating and not being able to sleep from the heat and had to wait until 8am when someone was finally downstairs. After I told him he didn’t even bother to come upstairs or even make it a priority, half an hour later I went back downstairs and asked to checkout early from my reservation and he was like you can checkout but we won’t give you a refund. Even after the experience I had been having, they were forcing me to lose my money I paid for the remainder of my reservation or once again move rooms. Guy obviously didn’t want to lose the money as they were only 50% at capacity during busy season. He even made it sound suspicious about my rooms saying they never had problems before, which by the condition this hotel is in I doubt it, it is completely rundown. I moved to 308 next which smelled like dust and wet cement. Also be aware that your reservation doesn’t include use of the gym or sauna unless you specifically look for that option when booking, had I known I wouldn’t have booked here. Cheaper and nicer hotels in the area than the price this place charges that doesn’t include anything! It is old and not maintained. Bar downstairs gets a tiny crowd (1-3 people) of just people of a late mature age, only young person is the bartender. Never had a drink there as it did not appeal to me nor did I want to give this place a single dollar more of my money which is also why I didn’t visit the sauna, but a friend told me he went during peak hours and it had like 6 people inside. It’s also hard to find as it’s down the alley of a plaza. Save yourselves the headache and book elsewhere.
The property to located 1 block from the "fun" bars!! There was entertainment every night, beginning at 10:00. I will stay there again on my return to Phuket.
Poorly maintained, unless in superior suites. Staff friendly, limited english.
Friendly and helpful staff. Apartment suite was comfortable and big. Bed mattress not the most comfortable, a bit too firm for me. Good breakfast although limited choice to either full American type breakfast or Thai. Both were great though. Housekeeping service was good, my room was clened daily, 2 bottles of water added daily. Discreetness upon entry/exit into premises and also location of dining area/bar area not great as this is located righr within the paradise plaza so something to bear in mind if you want a bit of discretion. Wifi not the best unfortunately, my signal kept dropping especially in the room despite having access to both 2.4 and 5g wifi. Unfortunately stairs may be difficult to climb if unfit or have arthritis. Sauna area may benefit from having some lights even if a bit dimm as i found it difficult to navigate whilst inside. My taxis had difficulty in dropping or fetching me from the guesthouse as there is no direct drop off point at the guesthouse bevause of its location within the passage of the paradise plaza so as a result i often had to use the name of an adjacent hotel whose entrance was opposite the paradise plaza, in order to get to my transport vehicles for tours/transfers. Date of stay 6 November till 9th November, had booked till 12th but checked out early due to changes in work schedule and change of flight bookings.
Quiet and comfortable stay with friendly and efficient service levels. The area many dining, shopping and entertainment options.
Fruit flies in every room. Left and could not stay as planned
As a return visitor, I'm always satisfied with my stay over here. The room was immaculately clean, in fact the entire hotel is always very well maintained. Situated near all bars, clubs, restaurants, shops etc. ideal for enjoying the nightlife.
Excellent value for money in a centrally located location. With professional and helpful staff. Rooms always very clean. Nice breakfast.
We wanted a centrally located hotel with character near all facilities. Our rooms were a good size with en suite shower room. Rooms were immaculately clean with daily cleaning done to perfection. Generous American breakfast, with refills. Hotel is within Paradise PLAZA. The bar is relaxing and friendly. The staff were consistently professional, attentive and helpful. Near all shops, restaurants and nightlife, with a 10 minute walk to the beach.
Liked the staff and location of this hotel. Easy walk to the beach, shopping and dining.
Average hotel poor wifi in rooms, poor blackout curtains, no elevator, not wheelchair friendly! Good location! Clean rooms! Owner is rude and burst into my room while i was inside to try fix the wifi, as it was too slow!
There is no phone in the room! Super slow wifi in the room, very noisy at night! The owner is not friendly but the asian receptionist is very friendly! Good location! Poor black out curtains! Good breakfast! No elevator!
**PROS:** Super kind and helpful staff and very nice owner. Everything was provided as advertized and promised. Relaxed, fun, easygoing vibes. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and as pictured. Free Water was always provided and room service was always ready. The noise from the parties and wild streets outside were surprisingly quite minimal and did not disturb us despite being so loud outside till late hours. Super convenient and fun location near all the gay life and shows. We did not eat the breakfast but felt that it was a bit on the expensive side. AC worked perfectly. **OTHER:** I would say the bathrooms need a facelift and it would be nice (because of the price that is charged) that they offered shampoo and conditioner. Bed was a little too hard for me, but i guess someone else might love that. Again: everything was clean. I do recommend for a few nights and would return for a quick fun stop at Phuket. 9/10
It's been a couple of months since I was there (sep 6-9). I have to admit I was hesitant to book here, but now am glad I did. Yes this place isn't a 5 star luxury resort, but I I definitely will be back. It's clean and comfortable, I don't know about anyone else but when I travel I don't live in my room. I only really had dealings with two of the staff who were amazing and very helpful. I'm terrible with remembering names so if I get them wrong please forgive me, big shout out to Chart and Pig. I did utilize the spa on one afternoon, not many others there but that was fine, I got to enjoy the hot tub, and wet sauna to relax. This was my first trip to Thailand so I just did a few days in different cities to see as much as I could. When I go back, which I hope will be soon, I will definitely be staying here again.
The place is falling apart badly maintained expensive. And very few people still going there. Visited the place over the years and every time it worse than the previous time. Now the bar is not even open downstairs swimming pool closed up. Guy at reception not welcoming at all. Not worth going there time Patong get another sauna. If the sauna is so disgusting and dirty I can only imagine how bad is the guest house. The open street bar section is open but not busy or friendly either. Walked past there many times and saw no people there. It is just not worth spending your time and money there.
great location , friendly staff and decent facilities
You will always find reviews where people rate a hotel badly as it didn’t meet their expectations, this hotel is moderately priced and had a variety to suit all budgets - so if you want basic get a basic room, if you want lavish - get a suite! I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks in 2 different types of rooms. One was basic room only big superior - which for sleeping in and having the occasional bed day is great. Water pressure and bed were comfortable. AC worked good and it was clean. 2 water bottles daily. You could hear the music from Zag at 10.30pm each night which didn’t bother me at all- it simply reminded me that I had to go have a beer :-) The next room I stayed in was the Michelangelo suite- which was a step up - more spacious and some more updated decorations. I couldn’t hear the music as much in this room. It is also included in sauna, breakfast for this one. Rooms were as advertised and I was satisfied with what I paid for what I received - altogether rooms were clean and worth what I paid. Now onto the bar downstairs - great place to meet people as I’m not a sauna person - I had many great evenings of conversation with people from all over the place - prices reasonable - Mai works hard behind this bar and is always smiling- please tip them! Chart and Paul work hard to being all of these services together and it’s great to see that after covid they have been able to keep the dream alive and hold onto a venue that provides good quality where you see many places closed shop for good. The staff are very good with recommending things too so I leveraged off their advice. Massage across from the main entry is great too and a hairdresser across from blue dolphin massage is great too! Breakfast was awesome! As I was having dental soft food was a must and the team were very accommodating. Location is the best of this place - Otop is about 15 minutes walk and that’s strolling, Bangla is 5 minutes, beach is 10 but 5 if you go down beside the Tiger restaurant shortcut. I have to recommend this place as a place I will stay at again if I come back to Thailand/Phuket. Yes the indoor pool is closed, but in a city where the beach is a stroll away and outside- I would say it was not the best part of this hotel. The rooftop spa is a good quick spot to get wet if you need it anyway. Thanks to the Aquarius team for my stay I had a wonderful time at Aquarius - if you are looking to book this hotel and see a negative review - it would be because they were being unreasonable as there is always 2 sides to every story. This was mine - I will leave it there - book it - you will enjoy yourself - whether you want a chilled break or a busy one - this place offers all of it. Thanks again team !
I had some trepidation based on previews reviews. Although difficult to find once there the check in process was quick and friendly. The room was definitely small and outdated while clean and "just enough". Can't say enough good about "Audi", check in and general helper, "Chart" cook and host. These two, for me, made whatever "bad" there was excellent. The housekeeper too was friendly and efficient. the sauna etc. ok and I didn't get to check out the sundeck because the sun wasn't visiting Phuket that week. The place could definitely use updating but it's clean, and extremely friendly staff. they need to figure out a way to be more easily found by taxis and airport transports.
Not a luxury resort while definitely having a staff that's 5 star. Shout out to "Audi' and 'Chart" who MADE my one week stay. While outdated the place is clean and the housekeeper conscientious about his job.
The friendly staff greeting on arrival and quick check in and had a nice chat with owner Paul over a few beers. The room was nice and well-appointed and most important the shower had good hot water and pressure. I am still saddened that this guest house is only a shadow of its pre-covid self but all of Thailand is suffering the same, many many small and large businesses have closed and no doubt never open again. Aquarius had a good restaurant with a wide variety of meals, I was saddened to have to walk to another motel to get breakfast but I am sure that Aquarius will get back to its old self.
The hospitality of the staff was amazing. The hotel is going through renovations, so not everything was available. The room was very nice.
central location near all night action and enjoyment
Good location for day and nighttime activities. The property is modest with a friendly staff.
Again a good stay at Aquarius, located at Paradise Area famous for gay nightlife. Also easy to walk to beach ans shopping centers. The hotel has a sauna, swimming pool and a toproof for sunbathing. Thanks to all the staff from Aquarius.
Again few guest therefore no funds to do repairs or mrc
Guests are not allowed to use the gym, it is ridiculous.
Right in the middle of the action in Patong. Sauna on site. Friendly helpful staff.
location for this type of hotel is excellent. Just in the middle of everything. The sunroof is great and opens 24hours. The sauna for hotel guests is free and opens from 3pm. Staff is very friendly and speaks English. For any problem or misunderstanding contact Mr. Chart who speaks and understands English perfectly.
Spent one night here. The fact is that the rate is inexpensive and you do get what you pay for. Room is comfortable. AC and water heating work very well. Staff are friendly and polite. Location is perfect. Can be a bit noisy after 12 am. It was not a big issue for me but just in case. Breakfast was basic but nice. Service was 2nd to none. And the sauna is small but everything worked well. Most importantly was meeting lovely lads there. It’s a pity that I was there for a one day but returning back in December, and very much looking forward to my visit. If you have a budget to manage for your accommodation whilst having added benefits I do recommend the place. Lee 🇮🇪🇵🇸🇸🇬🌈
By far the worst place I stayed in. I was very displeased with almost everything from this sub-par hotel. I wish I had seen photos of the room that I stayed in prior to booking as those were not available online. I was frustrated with the Internet connection (well if there was any to begin with) luckily I had SIM card otherwise my stay there would have been even more MISERABLE! Also the staff forgot the key to reset the safe and he asked me to give a call to get him. I was reading the dialing information using my cellphone as there WAS NO PHONE in my room although it was mentioned on the booking page that there was one. When I inquired about it, the staff just plainly said your room doesn't have a phone! The bed, well as soon as I sat and when I tried to sleep in the middle it caved it. The room was poorly maintained with cracks in the ceiling. The balcony was non-existent, you couldn't even sit outside because there were two air conditioning units, one on each side emitting more heat along with the sun. The bathroom was so small that the shower curtains attached to you while showering. The sauna facilities were ok, but the roof top had little privacy as the people from nearby hotels could see everything. The upstairs hot tub was out of order and not working during my entire stay. The archaic gym machines had so much rust that it was quite unsafe to use them and make sure you have your tetanus shots. For the price paid, so not worth it! Please do more research!
We originally booked for 4 nights but ended up staying longer after changing rooms. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. It is a little tired in places however the place does have a certain charm. Great location for watching the world go past when it rains. We did use the sauna and pool and met some nice guys, also tried a bit of skinny dipping in the pool. Would probably book again if we return to Phuket.
Nice guesthouse, with very comfortable rooms. Bed is large and firm, which suited me. Staff are always polite and very helpful. Good location with 5 min walk to beach, and major shopping center. In the next street you have all the Gay clubs, so not far to walk home after a heavy night partying. This is my second time staying and cant wait to go back.
My room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was reasonable and staff pleasant. However, there weren't many people staying there. My room was not at the same site as the front desk. I had to walk up a narrow staircase 25 meters away passed massage place and garbage bins often littered with rats, down a balcony hallway shared by the residents in this structure passing their hung clothes drying on the way to the doorway to my room. Though I was happy with my room, I wouldn't stay there again.
Pls don’t stay at this property.. to old... Waste of money stay here
Nothing to be complaint. All ok
Aquarius Gay Guesthouse is situated at the Paradise Gay Area, so its very comfortable, no Taxi or Tuk-Tuk needed after you went out. The staff is very friendly and the food at the restaurant is good. The internet connection is good and fast. I had a problem in my room but was fixed at the spot so no complains. Hope to stay there soon again.
The area was great. Frienly staff and great breakfast. Masaage was the highlight.
The property is definitely run down as are all the places ive experienced here in this price point. The staff was friendly, the room clean and I was surprised at the good selection of gym equipment. Loved the gym honestly.. the sauna and steam area were interesting and a bit odd but overall I had a good time. You get what you pay for and maybe even a bit more😉
Would like to express my concerns for this so called guest house. The guest house offers sauna ( really bad and filthy in shape, needs renovation) at a price. If you have booked online, they would charge extra for sauna. They offer breakfast but that's even not a buffet. It's a set breakfast with very limited quantity. The rooms are really small and not clean. Everything in the room is with a price tag to sell their minibar. Everything is priced 10 times then the market. The view from room is not worth a view. It's not worth sitting in the room balcony. Last but not least , if you have booked small room or a big room, it's not in the same building of sauna. It is a different building 100 metres away. The rooms are overpriced. They usually sell their small room without breakfast and without sauna for 1500 baht but you can look out nearby guesthouses at just 500 baht which are way better. One more thing, i have only seen old aged people in the hotel or sauna. No young guy prefers to stay there. They are a shame on the name of a gay hotel. The staff do not have any self respect. PFA images of the room
On the positive side, the staff are very friendly and resourceful when you need help with something. Location is very central and could not be closer to the gay live in Phuket. Now on the down side, prepare yourself that the list is long. First, I think every gay person that like to stay in gay hotels or resorts know that we always have to pay a premium for staying in gay accommodation but normally you will get apart from the exclusivity you are rewarded with nice surroundings, Aquarius guesthouse lacks of any charm whatsoever is old and rundown, the furniture is old, dirty and falling apart! The decoration is old, broken and ridiculous, example (an old bottle with a plant seating in dirty water)The walls are dirty, ceilings are covered in spider webs and the sauna has seen better days with old broken chairs and gym machines decorating some dark dirty corners!!! One day we had heavy rain and water poured into the room from the joint between the wall and the window which we have to say the staff quickly came to clean when we call them. I know the management replies to this kind of complaints with the excuse this is a humble guesthouse and prices are low!! Firstly humble and rundown are Two different things !!!! Well we paid more than €500 for a week stay (including the €200 xtra we paid for an upgrade to a half decent room) and for that money in Phuket there are hundreds of others hotels and guesthouses with way way way more value for your money! As the management mentions in other comments we don’t hide behind a nickname I give you our booking reference (29581) and I’m more that happy to discuss with you my comments! I believe the management takes this kind of criticism as a personal attack but could not be more far away from the true, we support gay business, but as a customer we appreciated we are not taking for fools and I’m sorry but our stay was NOT worth €500. We even decided to leave a day earlier and although we lost our last night money at least we stay in lovely modern clean and cheaper hotel. Just to finish our review I will post pictures of all the details we mention above. I invite the owner to put yourself on our shoes and think, if you checked in in a hotel like this what would you think? This could be an amazing place to stay if money was invested and attention to details were taking into consideration instead of just fooling people for one off visit, and like us not planing to ever stay here again.
Very kind and helpful staff and people around. So convenient place yet so quiet ! The gym is open anytime I wished to go. Breakfast was good and we got so fantastic coffe refilled without asking for it. First when we arrived, we were chocked cause the hotel was located in the market! And the building is quite old, so we were not sure how our 8 nights’ stay would be. But it turned out to be really good to stay there, we had such a relaxing time in a retro hotel with warm service and people! We will definitely come back! It was much better than staying at a hotel of a hotel chain or a boutique hotel. Cause of the feeling of an old days’ nostalgic hotel both place and people.
We enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the 1st floor above reception and despite it being over the market lane outside it was very quiet. It is aptly named as a Guest House - the room we stayed in was reasonably small but had all the basic amentities we needed. Good bathroom, bed was comfortable and the housekeeping very good. Felt secure in the room and it had a safe for valuables. Meals were good - western style suite our needs (breakfast included in room cost). Unlimited Wifi in room cost was reliable. Staff were attentive and we were able to book sightseeing trips and pay on our hotel bill. Bar / restaurant opened onto the market lane and this added to the ambience; an excellent meal street cart cooked right outside late at night ...... loevly Thai lady Chef. The Sauna and Pool facilities were clean and we found the Jacuzzi and deck chairs on the roof and chilled out with the a local brew (normally Singha) in the moonlight at nights. The gym facilities were good. Only 5 minutes walk to Patong Street where all the general main action is but the Gay activities are just around the corner in the next lane from the Guesthouse. Plenty of Spa and male massage places in the lane and next lane down also. Aquarius is not a 5 star palace but Paul and his team do an excellent job making the stay enjoyable - we will be back. Airport to Aquarius was at least 30 minutes and cost us 800baht (pay by cash - ATMs at airport;) - if driver a bit lost (as ours was) ask them to drop you off at the main entrance of the Royal Paradise hotel - the lane for Aquarius is opposite that and about 30 metres on the right down to the Guest House entrance.
It might not be the most glamours hotel in Phuket but it certainly has the most friendly staff, fantastic food (best pad thai I’ve ever had) and it is located at the heart of all the fun but quite enough for a good rest. Been several times and I will continue coming. I wish I could come more! Always feel sad at departure...
We spent 6 days in this horrible place full of mosquitos. Room small, bed lines dirty, bathroom dirty. Very noise by night cause of high music of gay bars. You can have much better places for this money.....
Last year was our first ever to Thailand, and we did enjoy the sauna-facilities by Aquarius. While back in area on holiday, we decided to try accomodation too by Aquarius for one night. The room (a junior suite in main building) was spacious, clean and well equipped. Yes, furniture is not brand new, but what is in the room works. This is a guesthouse in the middle of Paradise complex, but I expected it to be louder then it was. Staff is attentive and superfriendly. Breakfast was included in our rate, and also very fulfilling - a good selection between american, continental or asian style, served at the table. This is not like a five star hotel, but traveling as a gay couple the atmosphere in Aquarius guesthouse is so warm and welcoming. If we come back to Patong for more, we will strongly consider staying here for a longer period.
Annex standard room was very small and pokey. Bedding very worn, old decor overpriced compared to similar properties in same area. Not warned until after booking sauna and pool in main building not included with a no breakfast booking (so why the high price) situated quite away from hotel by massage shop Main hotel however did look alot better
The pricing was very inexpensive. That said, you get what you pay for. I will say that the room was basically clean. The linens were clean but had a few stains. The free access to the sauna was fine. I actually would have been irritated if I had to pay to get in. The sauna was very small and there were never more than 3 people in it. I stayed there for a week. The location is great if you want to be close to all the gay bars. The location is not great in terms of not being near the beach. I don't have problems sleeping, so the noise from the bars didn't bother me. If you are a light sleeper this may not be the place for you. The ceiling fan in my room didn't work, when I pointed that out to staff they just told me to keep the Air Con up on high. The water in the bathroom sink only trickled out of the spicket.
Nice but not that clean. Will try other room next time
Great value, good location, nice and spacious room.
Don't expect 5 star luxury or indeed, anything approaching that. What Aquarius is, is a fairly basic guesthouse in the thick of things. We stayed in a jacuzzi suite which was huge and had a kitchenette which was good. On the down side, don't plan on getting great sleep, as the night noise from the nearby bars is pretty disruptive. There was also no water one night we were there - the staff were nice about it, but really, having no water through to morning is not great. The set, included breakasts, though, were pretty great. So I suppose in summary, if you don't expect much and want an ok place to stay in the centre of the action, this will do.
Stayed in building next to hotel. Really awful actually. No explanation of anything upon checking in. Mini bar not replenished upon arrival. Tried to make me repay for nights already paid for. So many nicer places in the area. I wouldnt again
The breakfasts and dinners were good. My room was very dirty. The jacuzzi water was green and jacuzzi didn't work. The swimming pool was filthy. Each bill I was given was wrong, always overcharged. The manager didn't speak to me or even say hello for my entire stay, despite sitting at the bar each night, where I was often sitting too. It is in a convenient location for all the gay venues but that's all
Phuket was very nice. It the hotel was not a good hotel. Morning stag manager and desk not very friendly. Room is old and outdated. Will not stay there again unless it is updated you get what u pay for at this hotel. Not much.
it was good. thanks.
Hotel is in a good location with plenty of staff on hand. Is a great property and value for money but has potential to be so much more appealing if only the facilities, of which there are many, and some fixtures were upgraded/renewed
We had to change rooms as the first room was like a prison cell which cost us more money not good value at all
Accept men only but no women. Offered me a room in an old building, which is messy and noisy outside. Both Expedia.com.sq and hotel.com are ver irresponsible with no response of my complaint.
The staff were very good to all their customers. The facilities are suitable. The location is great for the shops, night life and beach. The sauna is the only one in town. We would stay here again.
Flew down from BKK for 4 nights. Quality of service is great. Best part is that the guys who work there act like friendly family and treat you like friendly family. Very friendly check in. Nice quiet restaurant and bar. Surrounding area has gay nightlife and can get noisey, however, Aquarius was not noisey. Amenities include free access to the spa which we used every day. Patong beach can have a run down look but other beaches in Phuket area are much better.
Really needs to upgrade and keep up wth the times. New towels would be a nice start. Staff are great and the location is sweet.
the car that picked us up from the airport booked for us by aquarius was late waited 20 minutes and found taxi was the same price as the hotel pick up car but as we were about to get into taxi driver shows up,no saying sorry for being late and he put us in a shuttle bus 9 seater, when we could have got a taxi or nice private care for same price so we are glad we did not book a return transfer organize that ourselves and found many better cars for same price,we had there 2nd best suite the jacuzzi suite for 12 nights, the bed was as hard as the floor but had noted that a couple other guys said this in reviews but we thought that must be because they must have stayed in the cheap small rooms, but no there 2nd best suite bed was hard, the first night did not sleep well because of the bed but also the aircon was loud like a car motor belt broken type of noise but is had stopped at 9.15 in the morning 2nd night was fine 3rd night is did is again all night we told reception they came up heard the noise it was making and later that day 3 guys from a air con place came and fixed it,the other reviews were saying how friendly the staff were we found most of the staff quite nice, there are quite a large number of staff including massage boys ect,but 3 staff were very unpleasant did not smile look like the hated working there never smiled there are 2 to 3 staff in the morning that would take care of quest for breakfast the older guy with the glasses was not very nice look down at us did no
Worn and tired rather than gay and fab. Would be in low budget category if not wrapped in gay tag. The receptionist was plain rude. The electrics in my shower might shock you - literally! See pics of taped bare wires.
Paton as a town is gross, will never go back. That being said this hotel was great to enjoy the gay nightlife for a couple nights. Gay nightlife was fun for 2 nights, they should move the entire gay scene to a different town though. Patong beach is dirty, didn't want to get in the water, moved to Kata beach which is wonderful but taxis are such a rip off, you can't come back into town for the nightlife. I guess they don't care as there are plenty of Russians that are happy there. I'll go elsewhere.
If you want to stay in a gay hotel in the heart of Patong, these guys did a good job. Although Patong and this central area is not so nice, it was still very fun to spend a couple nights right in the gat scene. Although the beach is gross, I suggest getting to a neighboring beach, although there was some eye candy, the water was dirty.
Well run gay oriented hotel in the center of gay the gay scene. I stayed in the annex and it was very quiet.
The hotel is overpriced for the quality of the room, there are loads of better standard hotels nearby.
Good place to stay and make new friends
As being my first time in Thailand and Asia in general I was afraid of getting it wrong with accommodation and activities. In fact, I now consider myself rather lucky to have found and chosen Aquarius gay gests house! From the very first day, I was greeted by lovely people who could not do enough for me! The owner Paul and his lovely partner were always very friendly and professional. "audi' (Apologies for the spelling my Thai is non existent) was a real gem ! He arrange for me great trips and has contributed to my stay being a truly amazing experience. If you are a gay guy looking for a truly good place where you can have all that you need, this is the place to be. I am now considering going back to Thailand at some point and of course Aquarius will be my new home when I go to Phuket which I hope it will be very soon indeed.
Outdated and non availability of amenities as advertised. Wifi was non available for the whole period of my stay without much explanation from the hotel. Room was more like a worker hostel and the sound of rats running on the ceiling the whole nite. Another point to note the taxi transfer to airport booked via the hotel dropped me at the domestic airport in which I had to run all the way to the International Hotel which is good 3-4 km to avoid missing my flight.
Great vacation spent in Pukhet in the middle of the gay area with easy access to clubs. Nice surroundings restaurant , nice massage available The staff is to die for. They are so helpfull and so pleasant.... It was a pleasure to stay at aquarius.
I spent 3 nights at Aquarius and it was amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The room was super clean and the location golden. I was right in the action, the shopping, the massages and the owner is very hospitable. I spoke to him a few times and I will surely be back. I really did not want to leave but I had a 4 am taxi to the airport. The staff is so well trained. Hospitality is what they do. Always ready and willing to help. I wish I could have stayed longer. The place is very safe and super clean. The saina is the right size and a lot of cite guys visit it. Overall what a great experience to have stayed at that hotel and the price value was super good.... This is the way to go Aquarius staff and management. I will ve back soon.
Went during low season and facilities were being remodeled but due to rain had been delayed. Will be awesome after completed.
I am missing Phuket already! I miss taking a good steam bath and having fun in Aquarius after a mid-day shopping spree!
I would stay there again
1. Main Entrance door to my room is so dirty. 2. My room was on the top floor. No lift to the top floor. I have to climb up the stairs. 3. Actually, I did not want to make a fuss about the above. It all started when I requested that the staff cleaning the room to replenish the teabags and satches of coffee only to find out that once I've consumed them I'm not allowed to ask for more. As a frequent traveller I must say that was a ridiculous excuse one could have given to a hotel guest. 4. The ceiling fan above the bed I think is a safety hazard. The management should consider a fan on the wall not on the ceiling. 5. I find the staff unfriendly. I felt so unwelcome to the hotel. They should not be so discriminative. 6. I was overcharged. I already have sent an internal mail to the hotel which is more personal. All I can say that I have been deceived with all the good reviews and ratings. I've learnt my lesson not to come to this hotel or the likes of this hotel should I visit Phuket again.
Very good place to stay, excellent staff, very clean, good food, great value, friendly
Overpriced for off season. Roof top pool area and spa in bad condition. Breakfast and meals very basic.
Great location with excellent food and service. The staff were very friendly.
Hotel is in great location in Phuket...close to shopping, bars, and beach. Rooms are comfortable with good air conditioning. Friendly staff however is what really makes this place work the best.
Me and my friend booked a room which was absolutely below standard in every aspect. Next night we got a suite for a small upgrade fee. Breakfast is poor. Atmosphere is good.
Amazing friendly staff & great coffee with breakfast only down side is noise from clubs until 5am
good over all .
i can hear loud music from massage salons that goes late into the night. The aircon constant loud whirring can be heard throughout the night construction from neighboring unit can be heard till 8 in the evening.
Was s nice place to stay. Close to most clubs, Bangola walk and the beach. Bit noisy from the gay club on gay street,
Plenty off Men That's all is required and an excellent hotel.
I booked a non-refundable "room only" rate which stated that it did not include breakfast. Fair enough. But nowhere within the description of the hotel or of the room did it state that there would be an additional charge for the use of the pool, sauna or gym. To use these facilities I was told would cost an additional THB300 per person per day. I ended up complaining to Hotels.com who agreed with me and they covered the additional cost. In hindsight it was not worth the additional cost as the sauna was empty most of the time and some of the equipment in the gym is dated or in need of repair. On the positive side the staff are very friendly willing to lend a hand when required.
When you arrive in the hotel reception all looks great, high standard of decor and cleanliness and the staff are AMAZING, friendly and helpful. The bedrooms however are a bit disappointing as they are tired and in need of a good DEEP clean, lick of paint and some new furniture. Having read most of the reviews previously, i wanted to try it for myself and can completely understand the negative reviews, however it you're similiar to myself who normally stays in 5 star hotels, its nice to try something out of your comfort zone especially as i am sure you wont spend much time in your room. Breakfast is great a good selection of things to try and as mentioned earlier the staff are all really great and they are what make the hotel such a welcoming place.
