Stay was good. Staff was friendly and able to explain clearly. Near fengjia night market too.

Location was perfect, multiple night market nearby and plenty of food. Facilities was good for the price. Although the lift button is not sync feels abit weird ( had to press both lift button ). Overall would stay for its price and location

Cannot flush toilet paper in the toilet bowl because of poor piping system in the hotel. Hotel guests were instructed to throw them in the dustbin - very unhygienic practice

The location of Beacon Hotel is wonderful. It is smacked right in the middle of the Feng Jia Night Market. One can easily pop by the area be it in the morning for a quick bite on breakfast or a late-night supper. Amenities wise are alright. One plus point, the shampoo provided by the hotel is one of the best amongst the majority of the hotels of the same price range I've patronised. It is also convenient for drivers to pick up tourists right in front of the hotel. Those who are driving may face challenges in negotiating to the hotel car park entrance during the night.

Convenient location

Right in the center of feng chia. That could be the reason why it was noisy. Finds the room dark even though lights were all on.

Staffs are very friendly and polite. Hotel is very near to Fengchia Night Market. Everything is good, just the room is small.

Location is good, room is big enough and clean, but Wi-Fi is really poor, unable to watch videos on YT

The hotel looks very tired comparison to our previous stay. Hotel towels in major need of a change. Staff services are not quite as helpful as our previous stay. Far cry from our previous experience with this hotel.

The self service washing area could have been better with more machines to cater to the needs of the customers. long waiting as there are only one washing machine and 2 dryer, and it will be gd for customers to leave particulars so that other customer can know the clothes belong to which room.

One of the best location with very reasonable pricing. Clean room with lovely interior design and bathtub, only thing is breakfast could add an egg station

Very convenient. Near to Fengjia night market. Baggage was delayed and all essential items can be bought around the hotel before heading to Alishan.

Good location and nice breakfast

We booked a family room (for 4). It is spacious. There is 2 washers and 2 dryers on the 8th floor, which we use on all 3 days of our stay. Fengjia night Market is just a minute walk away, and there are a few 7-11 and equivalent stores around. Breakfast is included in our accommodation, and quite typical of most hotels.

Room was clean. Location is great since it's right smack in Feng Jia Night Market. There was a laundry room, however tthere were not enough washing machines and dryers. Also needs a proper system to ensure people don't hog on to the machines. We ended up lugging our wet laundry to a 24hr coin operated laundromat (450m, 6min walk) to dry our clothes at 1am in the morning. Advice to anyone who wants to do their laundry, just go to the coin operated laundromat as they use industrial standard equipment there. Apart from that, the lifts are extremely slow and small. When a huge tour group arrives, you can be prepared to wait 15-20min just to get into the lift.

Great location, just next to night market. I got a room on 7th floor and it is not noisy. Self laundry service available on 8th floor. Breakfast choice is average. Staffs are helpful and friendly.

Currently, there is only one door used to close the toilet and showering tub. Best to include separate door or screen to the showering tub.

The room was fine, but the air conditioning was faulty for my room, averaging at 30 degrees. front desk offered to swap a room for us but we were too lazy to repack and unpack in the wee hours.

Room & toilet too small

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights from 15 to 16May 2019 at room 506, it was a luxurious huge room however i had gotten many terrible bed bugs bites all over my legs and arms from that bed (2 single beds that make it into a king size bed).

First room provided had smoky smelly even though its a non smoking hotel. Was replaced with another room immediately =).

Location was awesome! Right at Fengjia night market with lotsa food & drinks even till 1am. Hotel was relatively well maintained . Only issues was their aircon for 1st night which was heated mode for all our rooms and we perspired thru the night. Then after 2nd stay the central AC was alright as the staff explained they have fixed the issues. Staff wasnt well versed in English but were friendly. Breakfast selection was quite limited but has a variety of carbs dishes (congee, rice, noodles, bread) . Overall quite a comfortable stay.

The service is good and fast. The room is clean and comfortable. Location is good as well, lots of foods and shops around the hotel.

Excellent location near to the famous night market Fengjia and shops. However, was disappointed with the check in . We arrived at 5.30 pm and was told to wait for a while as the staff is still cleaning up the room. They apologised by saying that it is full occupancy & some had late checkup . If the room is already booked, why did the hotel agree to late check out? Imagine if we checked in at 3 pm (international time), then we have to wait for 2 hr 45 min? This is really bad. We’ve been staying in this hotel every year (almost) for the past 6-7 years. The hotel does not recognise the regular customers as it does not have any VIP card (I like most hotels i’ve Stayed before). I’ve also told them a few times before that the wardrobe should have more hangers (instead of 3 for 2 people). Alas, all feedback not taken seriously. So I brought along extra hangers this time round, which comes in handy.

Overall, my 2 stay was great. Hotel location is good. Near to shopping and night market. The only thing is the air con requires maintenance servicing. The bed was full of the dust/dirt whenever the air con was turned on.

Strategic location right at the night market. Good space in room for luggage. Breakfast was ok. There’s a heavy smell in the room though, like some after paint/metal/acidic/alcohol smell. Don’t know how to describe this, but it hits the nose until unbearable. We bought our own air purifier (our habit) which usually does the job for clean air in the room, but the smell in this room is too strong for it!

The given buffet for breakfast was good with a nice spread of food. Its location was excellent for both shopping and night market exploration and eating. Strongly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is right in the middle of Fengjia night market. Room is a bit old, wallpaper torn and bed is not so comfy. Worse is the toilet. It got clogged. Receptionist came over to help to unclogged and told us not to throw soiled toilet paper. I can’t accept this.

Great location - right in the middle of Feng Chia Night Market. Breakfast could be a little better, although it is decent enough. Loved the self-service laundry and the room (family suite) was big and spacious enough for family of 4.

Clean rooms, very convenient location for shopping, night market, food, but need to take bus for sightseeing. I can go back to the hotel to drop off my shopping bags and go down again for dinner. Checkout time is 12pm, which is a bonus. Staff are very nice, they helped me carry my luggage downstairs to the taxi. Just find the room is not sound proof, I can hear people talking outside my room early in the morning and woke me up. The bathroom can use more storage and hooks for hanging things. There was no place to hang my towel.

Hotel location is next to FengJia Night market which is good. But the hotel and room condition is old and there is a foul smell along the corridor.

The hotel is located just on the fringe of FengJia night market and is super convenient. Room is clean and WiFi is strong. Amenities are adequate.

Poor service. I could not connect to WiFi on 8th floor and the staffs (one lady I believe is the supervisor) were not helpful at all. They said I am the only one cannot connect so could not offer help. Their staff also could not connect when they came to my floor for assistance.

A good choice for business and pleasure

It’s a very convenient and comfortable hotel. It serves nice breakfast and have very friendly staff. Only 2 downside was its shower curtain is too short and water floods the bathroom and they only provide 2 pillows instead of 4 pillows for a king size bed. We can smell cigarette smoke even though it’s a non smoking hotel but this is more the fault of the occupiers which we highlighted to the staff and they set forth to investigate.

It's very close to Fengjia Night Market, a great location for foods and shopping. The lobby is on the 12th floor. The staff were friendly when I checked in. I reserved a Classical Double room. The bed was very comfortable. I slept very well during my stay. However, I wasn't very happy with the bathroom. It looked much smaller and less modern than the pictures. I felt I was cheated. The design of shower head holder was quite weird. It wasn't adjustable, and it showered straight up. The other thing I felt sad was the breakfast. I liked their variety of breakfast, which was served until 10am, but I guess they stopped refilling foods after 9am. There were some empty containers when I got there from 9am.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and the stay was fantastic. Conveniently located at Feng Jia night market and hotel room was clean and comfortable too.

We stayed in the Family Room which comes with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. The size of the room, including bathroom is kinda small for our family of 3 adults and 1 child. The aircon also requires maintenance as it gives off a loud bang every 10-15 mins or so.

Hotel need a bit of update and the room could be better maintained. Staff is very helpful and polite. Selection of breakfast item is ok. Location is good if you are there for the night market.

Repeat stay at Beacon, however wrong choice to book the standard room as the room was near the elevators and was noisy with fengjia market just below us. The entire floor carpet has a wet stench, especially in the room and from the toilet. Sheets were not clean, and I had difficulty sleeping the entire night. Only comforting part was that the location was superb, and service staff were friendly. Will consider to stay again, but in their deluxe room instead

Went back to stay at the same hotel which we stayed 2 years ago.. it was very near Fengjia market.. hotel was a bit small but cozy for 2 adult and 1 toddler :) .

Ventilation of the bathroom needs improvement as there was a strong stench of dampness

the front office staff really need to improve on their customer service. i requested for twin bed upon check-in and they told me that only big double bed can be assigned to me even though they did have twin bed available. Only until i showed them evidence that i had indicated in the remarks column during reservation that i needed twin bed then they are willing to re-assign twin bed to me. that should not be the way. also, as we were about to check-out the hotel in less than 20 mins’ time, so we requested if they could kindly help us charge our phone over at their counter while we were having our breakfast. but their rude front office staff insisted that we needed to go back to our hotel room and charge our phone even if its just a mere 20 mins of phone charging. hotel was inflexible and unwilling to go the extra mile. very disappointed in their customer service.

Execellent location. There is direct bus from taichung hsr. Just alight at feng jia university stop. Great room n there are washing machines available to diy your laundry.

It's located in a good neighborhood. The night market and everything are just across the street. There's a taxi stop within two-minute walk, which is very convenient for us since we didn't rent a car this time. The only issue is that if you stay at a lower level room, you might hear some noise at night because of the crowd. We stayed at 7th this time and we could hear some during our sleep.

My family and I stayed there for 3 days from 20th to the 22nd of December 2017. We were pleasantly surprised by the service as they let us check in earlier than 3pm as we had booked a car to bring us around Taichung. It is also within the Fengjia Night Market and very convenient to move around. Service was great as we complained that we could not get Wifi signals and they came to the room to do a test within minutes and gave us access to the other floors' wifi too. I would love to go back there again if I ever visit Taichung in the future.

Don’t be misled by the entrance of the hotel. The hotel lobby was on the 12th storey and it was service oriented with staff welcoming you the moment the lift door opens.

The room given full with smoking smell, we requested to change room but were told all rooms were fully occupied. There were bed bugs on the bed too, I realized I was bitten by bed bugs the next morning i woke up. The shower head was not adjustable too. Even the location is amazing but I couldn't sleep well the whole night.

The briefing on the use of the security feature in the lift and where to take our breakfast was done professionally. Our queries were answered promptly and the information we received was accurate. We will definitely return the next time we visit Feng Jia in Taichung city.

The hotel is located in fengjia night market one of the most visited night market in taichung. Hotel staff are very friendly. Overall it is a good hotel to stay.
