Nice and quiet
Great time at the pool. Got a cabana and Emma took great care of us, and made our day perfect! She always checked in and made sure our drinks were full and was super nice. Give her a raise!!
Great stay. Amazing service. Left my sunglasses behind by mistake and the house keeping team found them and sent them to my home!
I liked the pool and the hotel. It was very clean and we had plenty of towels.
I didn’t like that there was only 1 man working the 1 non-VIP front desk line and that I had to wait 45 minutes total in line to check in when we arrived. There were two other ladies working the two VIP lines, which didn’t always have someone in them, but those two ladies only started helping non-VIP guests after we waited in that line for 30 minutes. Why didn’t they have at least 3 people working us peon non-VIP guests? We were not good enough to have more help for non-VIP guests?? I paid over $500 for that room. Why were we treated like lower class and only had 1 person checking us in during a super busy time? I’ve been to hotels all around the country and they always have more people checking everyone out as equals. I’ve seen more help at hotels that only had rooms for 100 people. They need to stop being cheap and hire some more people in these positions. Second problem, why were there only 3 bartenders at the outside pool at the busiest time of day in 100-degree weather when there’s over 100 people in the pool and over 100 around the pool?? Golden Nugget needs to hire more people so they can offer excellent service to their patrons. I cannot give an excellent on this survey because the service in these two areas was subpar for a hotel that wants to claim this kind of caliber
Pool area
Pool area bar was under staffed during peak time.
Didn't get breakfast
It was too expensive
Mostly everything and the fact I don't have to leave. Everything was there as far as shopping and eating
I didn't like that you had to pay to get in the pool. I think that should be included with the stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots to do
Area beautiful
Extra 50 dollars charge
Very Clean
Nothing
Clean, nice great music
Close proximity of everything. The pool, too.
Each of the 2 nights we were there we could smell marijuana on our floor. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with that.
Great location, easy access
We had no problem with anything except we planned on dining at Landry’s but didn’t realize they were closed on Tuesday. Our bad
Everything that I like was right there.
Restaurant that were closed
Horrible rm 1017 couldn't close blinds broken sunlight in room couldn't sleep let in light. Horrible experience. Water in shower couldn't be adjusted either scalding hot or freezing cold no in between. They didnt even compensate me for this Horrible stay. I will never stay again. Old and meaty smelling room . HORRIBLE!!!!
Very nice
Everything is way over priced
El cuarto con vista a la piscina
Que no cuentan con un microondas y un refrigerador en el cuarto
Nice and elegant
They lied about housekeeping
I love the pool area
The amount of bands you can get per room especially having 5 kids
It was awesome
Excellent
Excelente. La limpieza, la habitación increíble. El personal amable.
No tengo nada que decir negativo del lugar .
The Hotel staff was very respectful of my privacy. Check-in staff was very nice. Great restaurants. Vic and Anthony's is a true five-star restaurant, I can't say enough about the quality of their food and the professionalism of the waiters. The overall look of the resort is beautiful. The bathroom was great.
It was my Silver Anniversary and I mentioned this to the staff. It would be nice if the Hotel would acknowledge that kind of event. My room had cobwebs. The room was not really what I asked for. My two rooms were on different floors, so my family and I were not close together which was not what I wanted. The ice machine was empty when we got there. I wish they had not scheduled a water shut-off during my stay. It lasted about five hours. I expected something a little more special.
Don’t have to leave
All good things
The Claim jumper restaurant had my order of food just sitting there for atleast half hour and they had a I don't care attitude about it Also the jacuzzi was dirty
We had a wonderful experience!!! Everyone form the front desk to the bell hops to the housekeeping and lost and found depts treated us like family! We showed up w o a reservation late on a Saturday night and they we able to find us a room on a busy Saturday night. We left a few items behind and the housekeeping/lost and found depts were able to assist us in locating and ensuring we got our items back as well! Excellent service all around we will definitely be back and time and time again ! Kudos to GNLC, keep up the great work.
The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in in a hotel, it was warm like the AC wasn’t working properly and a lot of the restaurants were listed as open is why we booked but we’re actually closed
I try to stay at this location every time I pass through the area! Very nice and relaxing. So thankful for the semi truck parking!
No complaints!
Everthing was really nice.
We paid the full resort fee at the Golden Nugget as they stated that’s how it’s always done. However, booking.com charge us $106.44 for Resort fee also. I expect to get reimbursed for that ASAP.
Room, pool, restaurants.
Prices in shops could be a little more reasonable.
We loved it
It was crowded
Room was nice, view not so much
Boats and people not staying there taking over the beach, no room for guests to swim or enjoy the beach.
Rooms spacious, clean, beds comfortable, pet friendly
Food at landrys seafood not up to par
Ty was a great server! Me and my husband will definitely be back. Try the general tso!!
Staff was nice and friendly and very helpful
Having to add family to my room in order to access pool
The amenities the amount of on site accommodations. The ability to enter the pool before check in.
The lazy river was FILTHY early morning Saturday. Requested late check out never got a response. NO UMBRELLAS poolside????!!! 👎🏾 Parking garage FILTHY
The pool, the convenience of the eateries and shops inside.
I reserved and paid for a room with a lake view that included a robe. When I arrived they gave me a room with a pool view so I had to go back downstairs to let them know I had the wrong room.. no apologies they just gave me the correct room but the balcony was full of cigarette butts and spider webs so we couldn’t even go outside and enjoy the view from our room. Also, we had been downstairs enjoying and celebrating my bday at the pool then dinner at Salt Grass. When we finally came to go and rest in the room, the TV didn’t work. I called the front desk and all they said was they would let maintenance know but no one ever came. But the next day when I checked out I complained and Ms. Denise was very helpful and apologized and told us next time to come downstairs and ask for a manager. She made up for the issue with her professionalism and kindness. She felt bad and asked to comp us with lunch.
It’s a great property, convenient restaurants.
Staff couldn’t find my reservation when I first checked in. I stay there every year in May. They kept insisting I had just checked out but they were looking at last year’s stay.
The pool
The staff and the manager Tim
We checked in on Sunday after a long drive. We tried to order room service for dinner. We were told they only provide room service on Friday and Saturday. What a joke, a casino hotel with no room service. To make matters worse, the fire alarm continued to go off several times at 1:15 AM. I came to relax for a couple days only to be more stressed out, and when I arrived. Also, they only have a few blackjack tables which limits play on how many people can play at one time what a joke I don’t recommend this hotel at all! Steer clear!
Loved it

The staff members were great. Very helpful. Very friendly. The young lady that helped me at breakfast was fantastic! Liked the crowd and the energy of all the people.
Excellent resort and the pool was wonderful. Left my boots and a pair of wife's shoes, and was pleased to learn the housekeeper had identified my error and checked them in with the housekeeping coordinator, Cynthia. She responded to my inquiry and their team was super helpful with instructions on how to send a FedEx ticket. They were kind enough to box everything up. What's more, Cynthia emailed every step of the way. Thanks Cynthia and housekeeping team!!!!
Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the restaurants (Lillies and Saltgrass were both Phenomenal).
Hotel staffing was minimal. No security in parking area. No one greeted you at front entrance. No bellhops. Front desk was barely staffed. Entire lobby and first floor smelled of stale smoke. Casino was too smoky so stay more than 30 minutes. Rooms were nice. Concert venue was good. Food was average.
Venue and room quality free valet parking and concierge very helpful.
Long line at check in. There were 50 plus people ahead of us but the line did move quickly.
It’s always nice and clean, the staff are great!
The staff in the casino area, only offer certain people drinks. Which is very rude, in my opinion.
The restaurant were good
The bathroom was dirty, the towels had hair stuck in them. Tub was dirty. Wish the pool closed later
Room was not as clean as expected.
I liked that everything that you could want was in one place...Starbucks, Icecream, a pool....all there!
I did not like my mattress :/ that's it.
Food choices
Pillows too small and soft. Mattress very uncomfortable
The resort was clean and felt very safe. The room was large, the decor was fresh, and the bed was comfortable. My adult travelers loved the pool/lazy river! (Everything is a little easier without kiddos.) Most importantly, staying at the casino provides the option to indulge in all the adult fun offered at the resort without having to drive to a separate hotel. The drinks at the bar across from the hotel registration desk were amazing!
Everything was a bit pricey in the resort, and I mean everything. The pool hours were a bit short, but they did not lock you out of the pool area. However, we stayed on a Thursday, so the weekend could be different. Also, the staff was wonderful - hotel and casino. Southern charm and hospitality was definitely on display and working in everyone's favor.
The bed was very comfortable The view was very nice
It didn't have a refrigerator
Bel hôtel casino top
Restaurants fermant un peu tot
Pools, valet, and casino was nice
Room wasn't very clean
It was a nice stay
High pet fee
Great room and experience. Pool was kinda of chilly and not too many people on Easter weekend.

Perfect no issues
Stay away. Second attempt at posting a review. The first one was taken down. See photos below
Wonderful place for fun and the staff was amazing, I lost something while at the resort and they found it and shipped it back home to me.
I had one of the worst hotel experiences at Golden Nugget Lake Charles. The staff was rude and unprofessional. I went to the swimming pool with my room key and towels, clearly a guest, but because I didn’t have my ID with me, they told me I shouldn’t be there. I have never felt so humiliated in my life. On top of that, the room lacked basic amenities like a microwave and freezer, which was very inconvenient. In contrast, I’ve had a much better experience at L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles—the difference in service is night and day. After this experience, I would definitely choose L’Auberge over the Golden Nugget.
Easy to navigate very fun for the kids at the pool
Loved it all
Chambre
Piscine
The only problem is when there was cleaning the building with a pressure washer and me and my wife was walking They doused us with chlorinated water, and we lost our clothes; when we spoke to the staff, they refused to take responsibility.
Pool stayed open late
We arrived at 4:30pm. It clearly says on their website check-in is at 4. Our room wasn't ready. They said maybe not till 8pm. We decided to go back to the bell service to change to go to the pool. They didn't let us in the pool without a room #. So we went back to the front desk, they downgraded our room. Supposedly they gave us a $50 credit. We went back to the pool, now they didn't let us in without an id. So we had to go back to bell service to get our id. In between of all this running around, I lost a pair of $600 Gucci sunglasses. Then we finally got into the pool, went to buy a drink. They didn't take tap. They need the actual card. Smh!!! So we didn't drink. Then we went to Cadillac Bar for dinner. Worst food I've ever eaten. No flavor and cold. The service was good tho. Tried to use my $50 credit. I was supposed to pay only $8.18 with a $10 tip. They charged my card 3 times. This was on Friday 4/3. Still trying to get my refund back almost a week later. Never staying at the Golden Nugget ever again.
The scenery
Nothing
We love staying at the Nugget in Lake Charles. The service there is great as is the food. This time we ate at Lillies for the first time. We ordered the firecracker shrimp from the small plates menu and it was anything but small. A very generous and delicious plate of at least 20 or so shrimp was served. We had also ordered the chicken and vegetables fried rice which was also plenty and delicious. Our server Alexis did a great job getting our special order just right and then helped us pack up the leftovers. Our experience at Bobs Burgers was also great. Piper was our server and she and her manager were right on top of things. And the sliders were perfectly cooked and delicious! Thank you Nugget!
