Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Excellent service, very helpful staff and a beautiful property/rooms. The location is perfect and having a city parking nearby was definitely an extra bonus. We were a group of 7 and everyone had a great time here!
food was not as great as expected, especially the breakfast - very little variety, it was included in price so we didn't expect a lot, but it could definitely have a few more choices.
Close to the wedding venue
Construction outside made it inconvenient to get to River’s Edge.
The location of a historic building in downtown Paris. The staff was helpful.
The breakfast was mediocre!
Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
Construction out in front of hotel and started at 6:30am in front of hotel where our room was!
Location
They didn’t tell us about the construction going on and there was no water from 6am to 10 am which meant no shower first thing in the morning
Close to everything
Breakfast could have been more organized and attended to
Nice quaint hotel
The road outside was under construction. We were not made aware that the heavy construction crews were working all night outside of our room. We were forced to leave as the noise was too great and we would not have slept. What was supposed to be a nice night away turned into driving home at 10pm at night. Unfortunately we had to pay 1/2 price for a room we never stayed in. Had we been informed this work was happening all night we would have booked to cone on a different day. The staff knew it was happening but failed to share with us upon check in.
Location was great

We loved the themed rooms, and the way they were presented.
Wonderful large and clean rooms
No ability to log in to streaming services on the television; breakfast was very bad
Room was nice
Breakfast, didn't like the eggs but im fussy.
The uniquely themed rooms were fun, which we learned about on the first day. The architecture was very charming and it was a central location to the sights/activities we pursued during our stay. The air conditioning was great for the summertime. We received a permit from the hotel, allowed us to park for free in a nearby lot. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming.
There were a lot of ambient noises (electric buzzing, elevator whirring) and the walls were very thin. The breakfast selection wasn’t very wide and quality could have been better. In terms of amenities, it seemed like there wasn’t much to do at the hotel during downtime (no pool/hot tub, no workout space).
Loved the hotel room. The clerk that checked us in was so friendly and helpful. She was so happy to assist us
Nothing
Loved this hotel full of history! Amazing customer service, the food at the library bar was unique and delicious, the room was huge and nicely decorated with a literary theme (we had the J.R.R. Tolkien room). The old cellar bar in the basement was a really cool added bonus to check out!
Location, history of building, cleanliness, staff was pleasant, good breakfast options
Construction outside of my window but I know that is not on the property itself, just poor timing of me visiting while it was going on.
The themed rooms are exceptional with amazing attention to detail.
Staff were not of the caliber expected for the price you pay.
Everything about the hotel was great, except restaurant was not open when we were there was looking forward to trying it wasn't aware of that ahead of booking
Clean, bright, themed rooms with small touches that were lovely
Close your places I wanted to visit
Unfortunately, the library bar was closed for renovations
Great location Friendly staff. Nice themed rooms
We stayed in the Sigmund Freud room: It was dusty, the air conditioning was very loud, very small parking lot.
The Arlington is a wonderfully situated hotel in the heart of Paris, Ontario. Each room is themed, which makes every stay unique. It is affordable, with better pricing than local Airbnbs. Our room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately, while breakfast is included, it is not high quality. We attended at 9:40 AM and there were no clean plates or coffee mugs left, and the food was either gone or cold. I had to ask the concierge to replenish the plates and eggs. The next day, my partner and I got breakfast across the road at the Dog Eared coffee shop. Another annoyance was that the TVs do not have Netflix, Disney, etc. so you are stuck with watching whatever is on the local channels, rather than being able to stream your own. Casting from my phone to the TV did not work because the TV was not on the network and I was unable to add it due to setting restrictions. All in all, this is a great value stay and the staff are very attentive and friendly. However, the breakfast is skippable.
It is a classic hotel in the middle of the city, close to everything.
It was not the fault of the hotel that there was a construction site right outside the hotel, which had made it not as convenient as it would have been. It was totally understandable. Hope the city will be more beautiful after the renovation construction of the downtown street.
Breakfast was great. Nice options. Lots of space and I appreciated that it went until 10am as we are not early risers. Loved the vegan milk option.
More vegan breakfast options would have been amazing but it was still good.
Location.......... and lunch.
First, there was major construction right outside in front of the hotel in the main street. No housekeeping service at all. One window could not be shut therefore dust in the room (from the construction) and at night cold air entered the room. Breakfast! What breakfast.....
the breakfast was good, lots of options. location was good staff were great, friendly and helpful room was very clean, beds were comfortable.
this was not the hotels fault, but there was road construction all around the hotel which made it inconvenient to get around
Location was perfect within walking distance of many cafe’s restaurants and shops. Also walking distance to the river and local picturesque spots.
Construction in Paris made navigation more complicated but it’s ok.
The rooms are great. Staff is nice.
The breakfast sucked. Stale bagels. Awful eggs. Says they serve Paris bakery pastries. This is a lie.
The themed room was spacious and clean. The historical ambiance of the hotel was well preserved.
The entire downtown area was under construction making access to the hotel difficult. The room keys malfunctioned multiple times despite being re-keyed. At 9am on Friday morning all the 'hot' food breakfast items were cold.
It is conveniently located with large comfortable rooms and a big bathroom.
The main level (lobby, restaurant, Library Room) is somewhat worn. The breakfast was below average as compared other experiences with limited selection. There were no napkins available for breakfast. Finally, while the hotel is conveniently located with easy access to the Main Street shops and restaurants, the Main Street is torn up with construction making it tricky to get to using back streets and noisy during the day.
Great location, spacious room, clean, friendly staff
Bathroom could use an update
Good hotel with nice staff and rooms. However, breakfast is average and insufficient parking spaces.
The eggs were not very good. They tasted weird. But everything else was very good.
The eggs..weird texture
Very nice breakfast. Nice variety. Staff very pleasant and got things refreshed quickly.
The room we had was fairly small for a king room. And very dark. But this is a very minor complaint. What makes a place in my opinion is the staff.
Location
Construction which will be over soon
The room has got good decorations and thematic. Great location. The staff is friendly.
We enjoyed the location
There was nothing to dislike
Nice little area , no one in booking let u know the hotel has Big Hole in front . A maze to get in parking .
It was All Construction , no notes in Site .( booking . Com
Historic hotel, centrally located in one of Ontario’s pretty and historic towns. Rooms have been nicely renovated. As has the rest of the hotel, which my husband remembers, from his youth, as a dive where he and his buddies drank beer…
It is not quite as posh as its “Signature Hotel” designation would lead one to believe. No proper restaurant, although the bar serves snack items. Breakfast was included, but not up to the standard I was expecting.
We enjoyed everything. Would have loved to be able to eat in the dining room but it was closed. It should be open every day.
Breakfast was disappointing. With that big beautiful kitchen the food could be so much better. The eggs are tasteless and potatoes cold. The bagel was so stale it couldn't be cut with my knife.
The rooms are themed. Tolkien! Our floor had mary Shelley sigmund freud etc. room was huge great value and comfortable.
250 deposit when room is 238 but much. And breakfast was an after thought. Was not attended too bagels hard as rock. Warm yogurt. Nothing on ice or there was ice at beginning but was now water. Messy bar area.
Central location, theme rooms and historical nature of the hotel
Limited parking adjacent to the property but it was only an issue once during our stay
Located on a street in with shop, bakery, restaurants so walking is easy
Nothing
Everything was wonderful
Nothing
Love the decor, room size was awesome, super hot water! Great options for breakfast, liked that it was self serve.
Nothing
Great stay! Loved the themed rooms and great staff at front desk and the bar!
Great location and loved the building itself
Nothing wrong with the property
Everything is within walking distance
Quite fot the season
The continental breakfast was pathetic, very poor. It is the only reason why I did not give it a perfect score.
Decor of room was wonderful. The whole hotel was so uniquely decorated.
Breakfast could have been better. Same selection both days.
Good
Clean quiet large rooms
The big dig outside
Welcoming staff, comfortable and clean room, good variety of breakfast.
Can't think of any.
Location was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. We loved the themes room. The breakfast was very delicious and we were impressed with the options available
We didn't realize that each room was decorated based on a unique theme so we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in our "superhero" room. It really added to the boutique hotel vibe. The staff was very kind and the continental breakfast was the best I've had so far. And can't have a better location.
breakfast was perfect. the staff very coutious.
not the fault of the Arlington but the odor from the construction area was very bad.
we enjoyed the simplicity if breakfast.
Found the location good but the amount of traffic noise at night interfered with sleeping.
The breakfast was great and included and the cleanliness was welcoming .... bathrooms in very good shape beds beyond comfort nice Victorian style palace type rooms but set up modern ... im an asthma patient and I never was bothered
Everything was to our liking was a great get away for a anniversary
Parking was tight
Unique, historical Hotel in awesome location / setting and close walking distance to town shops. Also walking distance to restaurants and the scenic Grand River and waterfalls. Location feels very safe .Main drag is under construction right now however a slight inconvenience and signed well and detours no problem.Great overnight trip for us.Followed by a nice Continental breakfast included. Will definitely return for more adventure.
Nothing!
Friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable beds
Parking
Very nicely redone hotel with the old character
The historical presence
This lovely old hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard without losing character. We stayed in the Brothers Grimm room which was immaculately clean and well equipped. The staff were very pleasant to deal with. The in-room coffee maker is a Keurig so we could choose the coffee blend we preferred. The provided coffee whitener was not to our taste so we chose to purchase our own cream which we stored in the in-room fridge. We had planned to explore Paris as the hotel is very conveniently located in the centre of town but inclement weather forced us to make an early departure. We will most certainly book a visit here again…Agatha Christie or Tolkien rooms perhaps?
Parking is limited, on a first come, first served basis. It’s quite cramped and a challenge to negotiate.
Everything in the hotel
Parking
Location, old building
Breakfast could have been warmer
I liked the breakfast, our room was clean and we has a quiet stay, we liked the 2 pm check in.

Bathroom ventilation
The hotel has old bones but some updates have been made. The room was spacious and clean but there were signs that it needed some love; holes in the wall that were not repaired, wall paper peeling in spots and water damage on the walls in the bathroom. The shower water temperature was also inconsistent and never got truly hot. The location is ideal but the price point is high for the lack of attention to detail.
Cute hotel in a quaint little town. Hotel parking out back and breakfast on site.
Breakfast was lackluster. The eggs need to be changed. The staff was amazing. The gentleman at the desk was top-notch.
Location, staff and room
Bar wasn’t operating on Tuesday
The hotel is old but the room was adequate and clean. Parking is free but difficult to access on site. The problem is they’ll tell you they can accommodate any dietary requirements. This is not true. Both the hotel and wedding venue did not provide suitable options for gluten free diets. If you have celiac disease, this may not be a safe place to eat.
Location was great - right downtown. Period decore. Clean, quiet. Interesting bookcase bar.
Nothing.
Room was clean and quaint & the bed was incredibly comfortable.
Free parking, walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Super cool
