More breakfast ideas.
Variety was great, getting a coffee before breakfast was cold not so good
Coffee should have been served after you seat down, room wasn’t busy
Beautiful setting and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. We loved Pizza in the garden and enjoyed walking the grounds. Enjoyed a slightly later checkout and an easy check-in process. It was nice to be able to use the amenities while we waited for check-in time.
This has been a complaint from previous stays as well. For all inclusive breakfast you need to incorporate another non-pork meat option, many tasty chicken sausage options exist and for those of us who don't eat pork but would still like meat, there is no option.
All good
nothing
The dinner after we checked in was dellghtful. The breakfast was ideally delicious. The facility cabin dinning room was very spacious, & accommodating as my daughter & I sat near the sunny window looking out the vegetable garden, outdoor pool, & ski hill. The staff was great catching us up on present, & past history.
I really like the summer program which had quite some added values to our trip. We participated the guided hiking tour, wine tasting and dessert making and liked all of them. The heated outdoor pool is a gem too. Breakfast had great selection. Staffs were very welcoming and friendly
You can tell some items and facilities are a bit dated. They didn’t affect the quality of our stay though. In fact despite that there doesn’t seem to be any recent renovations in our room, the washroom looks relatively updated
TV reception was spotty, might have been a significant rain event .. I find the value is a bit off market .. well over $400 per night .. breakfast buffet is adequate but rather modest for the price point ..
Everything was excellent....Thank You!!
Staff were friendly.
Break was decent, the entire floor was sticky and damp. The facilities are dated and weathered considering the nightly fee that was charged. I was expecting of better
It was very nice and clean
Courtesy shuttle to and from Adomo should be available earlier at least consistent with when the winery is open. We had to keep waiting for someone from reception to appear.
Excellent breakfast - not a ton of items but everything was cooked excellently. Friendly staff.
Rooms a bit dated and dark. Exhaust fans didn't work in any of our rooms. Super soft mattresses.
Nice location. Quiet crowd. Mainly corporate functions through the week. Restaurants and pool area were great. Interesting events and entertainment through the day.
Resort needs to upgrade some of the facilities. Patio door was sticky. Screen on patio door was off the track. Carpets were at end of life.
Friendly staff, helpful when things go wrong. The reception staff could do better. On arrival they should point out the facilities and daily activities. I really like the thought of this resort but it’s lacking in too many places.
This is a tale of being given a terrible room near the lift and the stairs. The room was tatty and also for the money, just horrid. Unfortunately wedding guests disturbed us from 1:45 am till 4am! The manager did move and upgrade our room for the second night. Also the bar patio restaurant was using training staff so not great service. The whole hotel could do better with allergy labelling at the buffet and swap outs for gluten free, especially fries and dessert. The whole hotel has so much potential but I don’t think it’s there yet. The pool area was nice. Is it a resort or just a golfing spa hotel? I think high summer entertainment is missing. As I said the staff tried really hard to put things right and took responsibility for the issues. With staff like that it can only get better. Also why not bring wine tasting to the hotel? They are missing out on so many ways to attract and entertain guests and are instead relying on big group bookings.
Good
Pool is too small - trees blocked the whole Sun Not a lot of chairs to sit by the pool
Lots of things to like but the beds in room 310 seem to be original to the hotel. Sounds like straw when you lie on it and very uncomfortable. We both slept terribly on our last stay, the beds need to be replaced. We went to Millcroft recently and the bed was very comfortable. It will be hard to go back to Hockley knowing how uncomfortable and old the beds are. Shame on Marriott hotels...
The beds, no one wants to pay over $300 for a bed that's very old and uncomfortable, again, shame on Marriott!!
Wait staff at Babbo were incredibly slow. Waitstaff at Cabin were equally slow and completely forgot one of our meals and my partner finished his meal before I even got mine. When we complained the waitress tried to blame us for not ordering it in the first place. All we got for comp was one glass of wine. Our room 213 had a horrible smell similar to cat pee. There was a long black hair in the bathroom. Not ours because my husband doesn’t have any and I’m ginger. The pool was very cloudy and dirty. Not enough fresh towels provided poolside. It was a very hot day and the complimentary lemon water was empty when I got to the pool and never replenished during my hour swim.
Always a nice place to get away.
The breakfast is good but it’s clear cuts have been made. The removal of smoked salmon and smoked trout without changing the price have a definite impact. Bacon and pork sausages—couldn’t just one of them be turkey or chicken?
Piscine et l’emplacement
Un peu vieux, pas de belle terrasse pour dîner, les photos survendent le lieu
Pool and family atmosphere.
There was a loud wedding celebration below our suite and 1 unit over. Very loud. Did not sleep until 1am. Although they did discount our room after we complained which helps! Overall great experience.
The room was large and clean with a modern shower.
Service was poor. We were a party of 5 with a reservation in the Cabin restaurant, when the staff added a chair to the table she advised we'd get cutlery. We then sat for 20 mins without a drinks order being taken but an amuse bouche and we asked for cutlery and to make a drinks order. The server camr back with water but no cutlery/drinks order, after 45 mins of sitting 15 mins with food and no cutlery my husband walked up to asked for it again, there was no apology and she brought over a knife/fork, no napkin or side plate/knife but did take a food and drinks order. The wine from the partnership winery was not available the alternative Rose was very swee so i settled for white. We ordered 1 cheese platter to share and after 1hr it was served with meats on it, i advised that i ordered the cheese platter, she said the meat would be free and i said i don't eat meat and she came over with 2 more cubes of cheese, i again said I'm vegetarian, then she asked if my husband was happy with it which he replied that i don't eat meat and we just wanted the starter that we had ordered. Eventually she relented and a further 10 minutes later we had the starter. The main course took a while to arrive, chicken was well-presented and tasty but my main of pasta was not presented at all, we were not offered further drinks and all in all for a restaurants that calls itself "fine dining" the service was very poor although the food was nice. The breakfast in the morning was a similar experience - waited 10.mins to be seated (at a sign that says wait to be seated) then called over to and told to sit anyway, many takes had dirty dishes on them. It was self serve with a good choice of hot and cold but we weren't offered any tea or coffee in the time the 5 of us sat there. Not on par with similar resorts we've stayed at in the past.
Convenience and clean, master class like making cocktail, golf facilities, free bicycle
No shower right at outdoor swimming pool, we had to go to indoor facilities No safety box in the room
Location and super staff, nice large room
Nothing for children to do, except for the pool. No play area, or an area for outdoor activities. The restaurant Cabin doesn't encourage family dinner, no kids menu unfortunately not helping to enjoy an 80th birthday and daughter's anniversary with grandson as a family. They booked out after 1st night
Staff was excellent, Breakfast was very nice. Yoga instructor also very good.
The resort is very run down. It is not worth the money you are asking. Within the room; the wallpaper is peeling, the grout in the shower was dirty. The phone is just a regular phone, no designated line for front desk. The A/C unit woke me up 3 times during the night with a horrible and very loud rattling noise. The staff discounted our room by $40/night and gave a bottle of red wine to compensate but I would not stay here again. Not worth the money. My family stayed at the Best Western and it was nicer, cleaner, and more up to date and much less per night. The spa also had no availability and a limited variety of services.
Wasn’t impressed with first room. Dated and musty. They moved us no problems. Was not impressed with our dinner but breakfast options were good.
Great place for a cheekynget away
Great facilities and amazing scenery around the resort. The rooms was big and the beds were extremely comfortable. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We did enjoy our time there. I would recommend it as a quick escape from the city.
The rooms were dated. The shutters didn't block much sunlight so the room was really bright early morning during the summer.
Liked the relaxation by pool and quietness
Great property with golf course and ski hill
Needs an upgrade in rooms especially in bathrooms
Golf in site and top tier food.
Breakfast service was lackluster, waited for coffee, then asked and was told sit and they come, never ended up having anyone come to the table. Mentioned on my way out that it would have been more enjoyable with a coffee.
The scenery surrounding the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Country setting on acres of land with golf course and pond. The setting is very romantic. Great for couples who are in love to stroll the grounds and enjoy the wine from Adamo Winery.
Breakfast good. Dinner excellent. Staff excellent everywhere.
No negatives at all.
We booked two rooms for May 30th (spending over $2,000) specifically to watch the Champions League Final with a group of friends, some of whom drove all the way from Toronto. Before booking, I called reservations and the front desk twice to confirm the resort bar would show the match. I was assured both times it wouldn't be an issue. After booking, I even called the bar directly to double-check and received the same confirmation. Upon arrival, the bar refused to play the game because it required a subscription to DAZN or FuboTV, which they didn't have. When I approached the front desk about this broken promise, the staff was entirely unhelpful and dismissive, claiming nothing could be done. It is incredibly disappointing that a 4-star resort would practice this kind of penny-pinching and refuse to secure a minor subscription to honor a multi-thousand-dollar booking commitment. Our entire group had to rush to a nearby Boston Pizza to watch the game, meaning the resort also lost out on a lunch reservation for over 10 people. The service fell well below 4-star standards, and because of this experience, we will not be returning.
Despite the flurry of activity of a wedding, a reunion and regular golfers, my room was surprisingly quiet. I had two balconies in my unit which overlooked the large pond.
I was disappointed that my $500 a night room did not have a microwave or a place to charge my phone. I would have thought those were standard at that price. There were also some decor issues such as peeling wallpaper upstairs, an unfinished corner under the window downstairs, a ripped hem on the curtain upstairs. I couldn’t justify the price charged.
Comfortable
Nothing
Nice room, clean facility
Expensive drinks
Lovely bar staff
Nothing perfect
Clean Room was cozy Great menu on cabin
The website said that the indoor pool would be closed May 28 for a few days but the outdoor pool would remain open. We booked the stay as the website said there was both indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, jacuzzi bar service etc. The website was misleading. Outdoor pool should not be listed at all until ot opens. With kids it made it hard to explain to them We did swim a lot in the indoor area and it was clean and well maintained We got to Sunday breakfast that was included on May 10, mother's day at 10am. All the hot food was empty and we had to ask for more.
Liked the facilities, food was great, grounds are beautiful
Service in restaurants. Need more staff. Very slow
It is quiet and clean. Pretty good buffet breakfast included with the stay. Nice country setting and lots of outdoor seating areas. The weather was great for a stroll around the property.
Need to get global stations on the tv
Rundown, I've been coming here for many years and unfortunately it's become very outdated and extremely rundown. Wallpaper is peeling in rooms and hallways. On the 4th floor the hallway was very smelly like laundry that you didn't put in the dryer soon enough after it's cycle finished. Carpets in the buffet are stained and unraveling in areas, wallpaper is also peeling at the seams there too. Bedstand lamp shade falling apart, drapes in rooms need to be replaced or washed. Dated room decor, cracks in ceiling molding etc. no duvet cover over duvet just flat sheets on top and under duvet very strange and unsanitary. Furniture rundown throughout the entire resort. Light fixtures are dusty, the glass that in closes wine cellar beside the bar is fifthly, large candle holder with pillar candle sitting on top of the bar was covered in grease and dust. -The Devil Is In The Detail - no tea lights or candles were lit during the evening on Saturday in the cabin or lobby bar. No nice music was playing at dinner. Old canned food in Mason jars on display from over 10 years ago on display beside breakfast buffet need to go in the garage, they are just gross and unappetizing and have been there for years now ... Also covered in dust. Morning buffet also not what it once was. -Staff are really kind and the food was good in the Cabin restaurant. -Beautiful view and room layout Resort needs major money put into it and needs to be updated and cleaned. I used to love this resort but since the change in ownership it just isn't what it used to be. For 450$per night I would expect more , management needs to step up their game and this beautiful resort back into shape.
직원들이 매우친절하고 편하게 쉴수있어요.
시설이 많이 올드해요.
The room had a view of the ski hills which was spectacular. Noisey during the night due to grooming and in the morning with the snow cats. Bathroom was very well lite as was the room lamps. Beds super comfy and loads of pillows. Pool area was clean and fresh. Robes in the room would have been helpful as towels were not permitted to leave pool area .
There was no hooks in the bathroom for hanging clothes while you showered. , the faucet was in an awkward location and therefore difficult to wash hands and use the sink without leaving deposits of toothpaste and soap. Dead bees in the window wells . Stained couch , not sure what that was. Not enough toilet paper so was forced to use the Kleenex box tissues.
We love Hockley. We ski there with our family every Sunday and the hill is modest, but great facilities and staff. The restaurants are amazing! We also love Adamo next door which is a perfect chill Apres.
The building itself is a little outdated/needs a paint job; those are things I know matter to some people; however, not much to us. Otherwise, everything else is fabulous! Great food, wine, drinks and service!
Perfect location and good stuff
Food in the restaurant.
Spacious rooms with a view of the ski hill. Good breakfast buffet included.
Rooms were extremely cold. Heater blowing cold air. Maintenance came to fix but reported that it was working as good as it gets. They didn’t have enough space heaters for all the rooms. They did provide extra blankets. Slept with a toque on. Room temps around 10C.
Convenient if you want to ski with your family and stay close to your accomodation
I purchased lift tickets and ski package through the hotel website and I did not receive any confirmation neither receipt in my email (created login). This has become a issue to me because I had to prove I purchased the tickets and ski rental showing my credit card statement... Another point unacceptable happened during the breakfast this morning, when the restaurant of the hotel charged me for a scrambled eggs (breakfast was included in my hotel package).
The staff were amazing. I felt like we asked for a lot of things and they made us feel comfortable and like it was no issue
Nothing really
Got room upgrade at No extra charge
Beautiful resort. The rooms were extremely clean and the staff were friendly 🙂
Excellent meals
The room and balcony were very tired and run down
The room was a little tired. Carpet was buckled and stretched.
Breakfast was good. There wwre a lot of options. Cabin 1865 was INCREDIBLE for dinner.
The breakfast food was good, but it appeared the place was understaffed. Tables were not ready with utensils, and it took a long time to get coffee. The value paid for the breakfast was not there. The staff was friendly.
The coffee maker in my room was full of grime. I asked the front desk to have it taken care of and it was quickly wiped and not properly cleaned. There's no point in offering coffee makers in the room if they are left unsanitary. I had to go to the bar and pay for coffee because of this.
View
Smell of septic from balcony .. gross
The grounds are beautiful!
My bathroom smelled like urine. The toilet did not get a through clean. The shower head needs to be cleaned and decalcified. Because it was dirty the shower sprayed all over, wetting my hair and lashes. Not enjoyable
The breakfast buffet was very nice, staff all friendly
very small indoor pool
Beautiful location and hotel. Clean amenities.
Bed mattress are too soft
Location and activities
You need a convenience store
Rooms, skiing and pool fitness centre, complimentary game room and activities for kids.Front desk and restaurant staff were courteous and kind.
Check in disorganized and chaotic at 4 pm check in. Not enough parking and could have opened spots closer to ski hill for skiers or families with young children. Could have prepared one or two more runs fior NYE volume. Suggest they could add skating rink nearby. Breakfast buffet overcooked both days. Lunch options were either sold out or not cooked properly Even saw a few other customers send rare steaks back to the kitchen. Dinner was overpriced for children.
It’s nestled in the hills and surrounded by natural beauty.
Nothing
Rooms
The breakfast was great. the variety of foods was great. The restaurant and front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot tub and dry sauna was great. Overall it was OK,
Was not able to have our Christmas dinner there as it was booked out. Also the price for the dinner was quite expensive for only 30 min. The lighting in the bathroom was very low, there was limited towels available for the amount of people staying in the room. The heating system needs upgrading. Needed more hangers in the closet. Needs a bit more esthetics as the carpet is a bit worn
Had never stayed here but as the driving conditions were not conducive to making my time at Deerhurst, I thought the family might enjoy Hockley Valley Resort. Forget that the hotel is run down. Most places are nowadays since putting best foot forward does not seem to factor into taking guests’ money. From before we got there the front desk staff was ‘in training’ and nobody there it seems to train her - she knew no answers to any questions whatsoever. Ok. Got there, room was fine, standard. Had dinner at Cabin. Glass shards on the table and on my son’s side plate. Thick brown smears all over the salt shaker brought over. There was sand - literal sand - in my martini no clue how. Duck unchewable and even before it was cut into the stringiness was clear on the plate to look at. My salad was full of brown lettuce. Brought each issue up to the server politely as they arose, paid the $300 bill and gave 20% tip. No manager came to say anything. I brought it up to front staff, manager spoke to me next day offered free app at next meal. Thanks but I would not eat there again. Purchased 4 smores kits later on after another guest let me know where to purchase them as the front staff had no clue when I asked. Marshmallows were harder than the ones in Lucky charms. They’re just freaking marshmallows. Was out all day the next day let the front staff know to ensure they could get to the room and by 5 pm room still not cleaned. Went to pool to wait for them to clean the room. 1 hour and 5 phone calls later still NO TOWELS in the pool area. Finally went back to the room - garbages not emptied and no new towels. Tried to call front desk later on and phone in the room broken. Tried to call front desk 2 hours NOBODY PICKED UP. This place is a JOKE. It is an insult to any paying customer. I have no idea what is going on here. I would NEVER come back.
amazing time at a family wedding, what a 1st class place to enjoy for the weekend and look forward to coming back to golf and snow board in the future.
We had a great girls overnight getaway, that included the spa, the pool, dinner and breakfast. I would highly recommend going too hockley, and I look forward to going back again. The food is amazing.
Beautiful and staff were incredible!!! Mark the bartender was amazing and accomodating!!!!
Great place nice view
The staff is wonderful!
What a beautiful setting, but we did find the resort needed some updating and attention. It didn't look as luxurious as it did in the photos.
The pool wasn't maintained, it was full of leaves, so we didn't go swimming as we had planned.
Very quite
No Netflix or other streaming app
There was an odour around the hallways and the tables in the restaurant were dirty. Other than that we had a great stay
The foul odour
Breakfast and staff was awesome!!
No charging stations for phone..
Beautiful grounds Hot tub, sauna and pool were excellent
Just a tad expensive for what it was
An amazing Scent welcomes you amazing staff, wants a quiet place with spa, romantic, family friendly, golf, it's exceptional
N/a in this place
Breakfast was very good. Beds were amazing! Bartender was fun and interacted with us. we loved the room - it had a nice wrap around balcony.
Unfortunately we could here the bass from the music from the wedding but it ended around 12:30 am...so that was okay. The pasta and the fries I ordered for dinner through room service were not very good.
Rooms are very outdated and beds very uncomfortable. Value does not match the large price tag of 500 per night. Floors in restaurant very sticky. Staff in hotel is very nice and service and food were great.
Cabin restiarant menu needs upgrade.
Although the location was excellent, the hotel was very basic for a "resort"category. Staff were excellent, especially in the Spa area. The room amenities were sparse, no robes, only 2 glasses, no telephone shower, and so on. Food service for breakfast and in the restaurants was very good.
No tuck shop
Our stay at the Hockley Valley Resort was quiet, for the wedding we were attending and quite pleasant. The room was very comfortable although showing definite signs of wear and tear..... also the bath and shower area appeared renovated , we could have tripped over the wrinkles in the carpet. The check-in procedure could have been streamlined immensely. Although promised, check in staff neglected to notify us when our room was ready and we had to kill 3 hours in the restaurant prior to room availability.
Rooms need a MAJOR facelift. I booked online and the rooms I saw online did not match what we ended up getting. Grounds are beautiful, but do not match the rooms. Not all restaurants were open on Monday so we had to travel into Orangeville for dinner.
Clean rooms. Great service, beautiful spot.
