No me gustó la poca atención al cliente nunca no dieron el control del TV lo pedimos varias veces el último día ya no había luz en el baño y el aire no prendió más De paso cuando ya estaba entregando las llaves para mí regreso me cobraron un brazalete que te ponen al llegar el último día se me arrancó eso y me cobraron

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days. The first day that we checked in, I distinctly remember booking a room with a pull-out couch and bed but we only got a bed and the concierge said we did not book that room, we had no running water at least once a day (the water would turn off mid-shower), we had no hot water for multiple days, the toilets would not flush, you had to wear wristbands at all times or else you’d have to pay a $25 fee, there was a point that the elevator was broken as well. This hotel is poorly managed and not worth it - I say pay the extra $100 and stay at a resort or a better reviewed hotel.

On the bus route from Santo Domingo and walking distance to a variety of restaurants.

There are a few abandoned or unopened properties on the area and it felt uncomfortable walking at night as there were large areas along the street that are very dark.

Good location and price conviency

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Hotel El Cortecito. I contacted their guest service team the day before my scheduled check-in to modify my reservation from July 4th to July 3rd. Their own representative advised me to cancel the original booking and make a new reservation instead of processing a modification. I followed those instructions in good faith. Despite doing exactly what their representative told me to do, the hotel marked my cancelled reservation as a no-show and is now charging me a fee for it. When I reached out to resolve the matter, they claimed they never received a cancellation notification — which is a direct result of their own staff's mishandling of my request. To make things worse, they have failed to respond to my follow-up communications in a timely manner, leaving me with no resolution and an unjust charge on my account. I would not recommend this property. Poor communication, unprofessional handling of guest requests, and zero accountability for their own mistakes.Terrible customer service and unjust no-show charge

The security, maids and breakfast staff were very nice.

Unfortunately i had a very bad situation occur. On arrival the air conditioner was leaking water. Even though i informed the reception they never fixed it. But this was minor issue compared to what happened and how i was treated. I arrived back to my room with my friend around 3am. We left the hotel key in her sisters house who was asleep by then. My friends house keys, her passport was in my locked room. No problem right? The hotel has spare key and the sister will bring the hotel key tomorrow. Well, their master key didnt work. We waited 2 hours for the receptionist to resolve it. They wouldnt give us another room even to wait in and my friend is traveling that morning and needed her documents.. With the master key the door would open to a point and eventually i opened with force. They charged 500$ (which i found out from a local was extortionate) which i was fine to pay and did pay next morning. Although for me they should have waived 50% as their master key didnt work. My friend brought hotel key next morning and finally they said they would move me to a new room and told me to leave my bags with them. I went to santo domingo for a meeting and arrived back midnight. The night receptionist told me to pay the extra night in morning as he needed to confirm rate. My suitcase they never moved to new room and wouldnt give me. No toiletries, no clothes having travelled all day from punta cana to santo domingo and back The next morning im woken at 7am to being accused of not paying. I explained the night receptionist said and said i will pay on check out at 12 Then they claimed i never paid for door..i showed them my card transactions..as a european it showed in euros and they accused me of paying less not knowing the euro is stronger than dollar.

There was a guess with a dog and this pet was howling every night we could sleep well also the girl who prepare the breakfast she didn't have the good tools to make a wonderful breakfast, her kitchen is very tiny and very uncomfortable. Even though she was very nice and gentle.

Tiene muy buena ubicación y la opción de poder desayunar en la playa, esta espectacular 👌🏽 excelente decisión 👌🏽 los felicitó. Éxitos con esa iniciativa, aunque andaba de trabajo eso me ayudo a relajarme, bajar mi estrés fue estupendo

El desayuno estuvo regular para mi, pudieran mejorar el Mangú, que los plátanos sean frescos y mejor majados o machacados estaban con mal sabor y lleno de agua, las cebollas que sean natural no a todos nos gustan el vinagre o el limón, que tengan opción de cobrar en dólares, pues la tasa de conversión es abusiva por encima a la del mercado y a la oficial del Banco Central de la República Dominicana y más flexibilidad para el colaborador o empleado de turno, que no haya tanta burocracia para conversar o comunicarse con su supervisor o líder.

Payment was taken at the front desk but the front desk person didn't know how to handle it and wanted to charge us more than the reserved amount. Needed to spend almost 20 minutes on the phone to get the payment situation resolved.

No hay servicio a la habitación, durante los cinco días de estadía no hicieron aseo al baño, fue necesario exigir cambio de toallas porque no las cambiaban, el sifón de la ducha no evacuaba el agua y terminaba inundado, la llave del lavamanos completamente desajustada.

Мы приехали в 3 утра , заранее уточнив три раза если всё хорошо и нас примут в такое время но к сожалению по приезду обнаружили спящего сотрудника который проснулся как будто с испуга и держал нас примерно час не мог найти нашу резервацию а какой-то момент вообще сказал что нам нужен другой отель и мы приехали не туда. мы уставшие с дороги расстроенные пока не доказали ему что все оплатили и всё-таки это тот отель он обнаружил свою ошибку , оказалось что лист с нашей резервацией был распечатан прямо перед его лицом но он упорно искал что-то в компьютере и не мог найти и наконец-то привёл нас в комнату пока показывал комнату открыл дверь в туалет и отвалилось ручка, так что решили что лучше дверь туда не закрывать. Также этот работник дал нам знать часы завтрака но к сожалению когда мы пришли на него утром нам сказали что надо было делать резервацию заранее об этом нас не предупредили

The staff were very RUDE and UNprofessional. Only one receptionist at the front desk spoke and understood a little English and he was only there for a few hours in the mornings during our stay at the property. The night time staff only spoke spanish. The hotel was extremely filthy. Stained sheets and drapes, dirty bathroom, dirty pool, dusty furniture. It was nothing like what is being advertised on the website. MISREPRESENTATION!! This was MY worst experience at a HOTEL/PROPERTY ever! I have never written a bad review about a property until my experience at this property. I would not recommend that anyone book this property! AVOID!!!

Se presento un problema en el abastecimiento de agua, pero a las horas le dieron solución.

The whole experience was absolutely horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE. Lack of communication, mildew smell, poor cleaning, we didn't have water from 2pm to 9pm, no solutions presented, no management in the hotel. I had to find another place to stay still haven't heard from the hotel in regard to the whole situation, TV doesn't work, broken bed, bathroom gets flooded when you take a shower. Staff doesn't speak English but try to help as much as they can. Just a horrible experience, not sure how they are rated as good.

Where do I start...I am so disappointed in my trip, even though it was a significant financial investment for me, and it usually takes a lot for me to sit and write down a bad review. First of all, the airport transfer was never delivered, regardless of my numerous messages and confirmations. So being alone with a toddler at 1 am without a safe taxi driver was a poor beginning surprise. The hotel doesn't provide the most basic appliances, like a boiler to make tea. I had to ask to check me out so I could move somewhere else before they provided me with an old boiler. The location is poor, with a huge and loud construction project just in front, so be ready to contemplate a lot of loud, working men from your window. The breakfast could take an hour to get, just because the person who cooks also serves, and she is very relaxed in life. Finally, I was charged 100 USD more than expected at check-in (at 2 am without any more explanations), and the personal language barrier and their unwillingness to solve my problem left me with nothing to solve this issue. Please, avoid if you don't want to stay completely disappointed. Apparently, the tourists expecting basic good service are way too much for this hotel. It is a very uncomfortable feeling to constantly want to move out in the midst of an already short stay.

Desayuno (menos mal que era opcional) era muy pobre - literalmente te decian que tienes derecho a una tostada, un par de huevos, y si querias otra cosa, tenias que quitar la otra. Cafe muy malo. He llegado a las 21 de la hoche y no me dejaban entrar porque no tenian constancia del pago. Luego no me querian enviar la factura. Vamos, chicos de la recepcion muy majos pero tenian poca potestad para actuar y la administracion no se hacia responsable.

Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this property at all. The accommodation does not match what is shown in the Booking photos. The actual condition of the building and the rooms is very different, with clearly poor maintenance and lack of cleanliness. We arrived late at night and already at reception we had a very bad impression. Once we entered the room, the situation was even worse. There were multiple issues: swollen and worn doors, curtains in poor condition, old and worn grey towels, and very poor cleanliness. There was hair on the floor and in the sink, as well as visible dirt and footprints. The bathroom was in very bad condition. The sink was clogged from the moment we arrived, with dark stains and in a clearly neglected state. The ceiling showed visible humidity damage, with deteriorated areas and peeling paint. We reported these problems immediately at reception, but no proper or immediate solution was offered. The breakfast is very basic and of low quality. In addition, the information is misleading: the description and reviews mention breakfast on a terrace by the sea, but upon arrival we were informed that this belongs to another hotel of the same chain. This is not clearly stated during the booking process. The experience was so negative that, although we had no alternative that night, we only stayed one night and left the next day. We have photographs that clearly reflect the real condition of the room and facilities. In our opinion, this property does not match what is advertised and does not justify the price paid. It would be important for the listing and photos to be reviewed and updated to reflect the actual condition, in order to avoid misleading future guests. We strongly recommend future travelers to consider other options.

I had a very good stay, everything was comfortable and well organized. From the moment I arrived, I felt at ease and the overall atmosphere was excellent. I’d like to highlight Michael Alfredo at reception, as his service was very good: friendly, efficient, and always with a smile, ready to help.

However, the breakfast was quite simple and could be improved, as it felt somewhat limited and lacked variety.

Pésimo , al llegar estuvimos sin agua por casi 4 horas , el personal poco resolutivo , al llegar el agua solo salía fria y sumar que la ducha apuntaba a la pared por lo que era incomodo bañarse. Ademas solo tenian un jabon de pesima calidad. El 2do dia de estancia tambien se cortó el agua por un par de horas , horrible ya que se trata de un servicio básico. Sumado a esto, el wifi no llegaba a mi habitación, por lo que no podía utilizar la televisión ni celular. No me dieron ninguna solución , al personal de recepción al parecer le causaba gracia y solo me decia que como hice la reserva por booking ellos no podian hacer nada, que debia ingresar el reclamo por la app. Hable a alojamiento por la app y tambien escribí a servicio al cliente en booking y no tuve ninguna respuesta. PESIMA EXPERIENCIA

Lamentablemente no recomendaria el hotel ya que me quede dos noches ahi y las dos noches hubo corte de agua sin aviso previo. El dia de mi llegada llegue temprano hise check in y me guardaron las maletas ya que saldria a hacer el tour de buggies, llegue de vuelta al hotel a las 19hrs aprox. Ingrese a la habitacion directo a bañarme y mi pareja igual ya que estabamos llenos de barro y ropa humeda, y resulta que no habia agua, cuando fuimos a preguntar dijieron que estaban arreglando la bomba de agua que se demorarian 20min y terminaron siendo 3 horas. Durante ese tiempo de espera se fueron a preguntar varias veces que pasaba con el agua y el recepcionista con mala actitud no daba ningun tipo de respuesta y decia que el no podia hacer nada. Al dia siguiente en el mismo horario paso lo mismo pero al menos duro menos tiempo el corte de agua. Ademas la señal de wifi en las habitaciones no es muy buena. En cuanto a precio/ calidad de la estadia realmente no lo recomiendo nada.

The property has everything you need. The staff is helpful. The location is ok. In fact, it's located next door to the best Mexican restaurant in town. The shower has lasting hot water (which is a huge plus for me).

Despite all of the above, I don't believe the price is worth $71 per night. That's pretty steep for offering most things that hotels in America offer. I'll also add that El Cortecito Checkin does NOT have shower gel or shampoo in the bathrooms. You have to bring your own. This is something that pretty much every hotel, regardless of location or price, offers.

El check in era a las 3 pm y nos dieron la habitación hasta las 6 pm y aunque esperamos 3 horas, entramos y el baño estaba sucio lleno de arena, las camas a medio tender, no habían paños para secarse las manos, el desayuno muy básico y super grasoso.

There was not microwave. I guess it was to get you to go to the upstairs dinning. We went to the upstairs dinning on our last day to have breakfast and the attendant did not speak any English. So we went elsewhere to eat.
