Superb central Fontainebleau location - couldn't be better, lovely hotel, great room, great breakfast, just as we had hoped!

The breakfast was good but a little "samey" ever morning. Very poor at restocking items when low/empty

Pictures on the wall of the room. There were none. Poor restocking of breakfast items as mentioned above. The same empty tomato sauce bottle was there all week with no new one brought out Our hand wash gel in the room was empty most of the week and not changed. The pillows on the bed were very uncomfy. When the light switch in the entrance to the room is switched off, it cuts power to all lights and sockets, so had to be left on during the night to charge phones etc and to use the bedside lights. My wife was disappointed that there wasn't a vanity desk with a mirror to attend to her makeup etc.

What a beautiful hotel in tbe centre of Fontainebleau so close to all amenities. Tbe room was huge with beautiful decor and every comfort provided. We had a huge walk in shower, in the very modern bathroom. All spotlessly clean. The price was excellent and the breakfast was included, which is a rareity these days. Lovely big buffet breakfast. Parking in tbe underground car park very close by. Staff were amazing. One of my favourite stops.

Its a beautiful heritage hotel, very well located in the middle of town, opposite the entrance to the Fontainebleau Chateau. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a great icecream parlour connected to the hotel and many restaurants around. Great hotel to explore Fontainbleau. Will definitely stay here again! And as a bonus we got a free upgrade to the junior suite. Great coffee machine in the room.

We were in a junior suite, which is a large room and the air-conditioning for the size of the room was average. The pressure in the overhead shower was also weak. Being a heritage hotel with a lot of character and modernised well, these little issues were acceptable and we would definitely stay here again.

Excellent emplacement face à une entrée du château de Fontainebleau. Très beau bâtiment historique d'architecture néo-classique. Chambre confortable, demandes exaucées (étage, calme, oreillers). Petit déjeuner buffet varié et de très bonne qualité. Personnel disponible et à l'écoute.

Impossible de joindre l'hôtel par téléphone pour confirmer l'heure d'arrivée (petite musique, taper 1, taper 3, taper 2 puis ça raccroche). Rampe d'accès au parking beaucoup trop étroite. Climatisation à fond en arrivant dans la chambre, trop froid et énergie gaspillée.

La posizione (comodissima per visitare il castello), il parcheggio pubblico ma convenzionato, il fatto che si tratta di un edificio storico.

La prima stanza che ci è stata assegnata era molto al di sotto delle nostre aspettative (prese elettriche non funzionanti, macchia vistosa sulla tappezzeria dove avremmo dovuto appoggiare i cuscini, mancate istruzioni per attivare le prese elettriche, assenza di tazze per usufruire di bollitore e macchina espresso, assenza del minibar o anche solo del frigobar nonostante questo sia indicato su Booking.com). Fortunatamente quando sono andata alla reception con una lista di appunti e lamentele, la signora è stata gentilissima e mi ha proposto un upgrade gratuito a una stanza di gran lunga migliore e questo ha reso molto più piacevole il nostro breve soggiorno. La valutazione finale è il risultato della media tra le due stanze.

Le manque de prises électriques !!! Le manque de lumière et éventuellement de miroir grossissant dans la salle de bain. Impossible de se maquiller ! Et pas de miroir dans la chambre.

It is a very well run facility but some os the furnishings showed their age.

We had a great, big, lovely room that was beautifuly decorated ! The réception staff was very flexible and the location is great.

I think there was a staffing issue at breakfast: buffet was always nearly empty, tables were left with dishes and it was impossible to get a barista coffee. You could see the only one person in the room was in over his head.

We stayed four nights in a large suite in this so-called four-stars establishment at end of June and early July. When we checked-in, there was one female staff at the counter (a single desk). She acted rather indifferently, as if we were there disturbing her routine. We had four suitcases and there was no porter to assist us to transfer them to our suite. There were two bathrooms in our suite, and they both smelled of a terrible stench. Despite our large suite, there were only two cups in the coffee/tea bar available. Staff at the breakfast restaurant were uniformly unsmiling and did not even greet their guests with a "bonjour" or "good morning". They just mechanically asked for guests' room numbers like robots. We prebooked a car to go to the CDG Airport two days in advance. Yet on the day of our departure, there was no record of our pre-booking, and the car had to be re-booked again. In short, the hotel was terribly managed by some incompetent staff. We do not recommend this hotel to travelers and will never stay there again!

Hotel location was excellent in center of town, with easy walk to Fontainebleau Chateau and gardens, restaurants & shops. Our room faced onto courtyard, with large windows & wqs wonderfully quiet for restful night's sleep.

The rooms were lovely and large, cool ( !!) and easily accessible. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and I felt really safe there. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

Nothing really! Perhaps an upgrade would be a smart TV so people could relax with something familiar. Not a big deal though, you don’t need TV in such beautiful places.

Hotel avec du caractère, idéalement situé proche du chateau de Fontainebleau. Les chambres étaient spacieuses, le lit extremement confortable. Beaucoup de choix au petit déjeuner. Le staff a fait preuve de beaucoup d'hospitalité et ce fut un véritable plaisir d'avoir séjourné dans cet hotel.

Un bel emplacement, en face du château. Un lit très agréable. Tout était très propre. Le personnel de l'accueil est très serviable. Le petit-déjeuner (breakfast) est un vrai plus, il est excellent. Juste dommage que le dimanche matin durant lequel nous étions là, il n'y avait pas de chocolat chaud.

Leider hat das Haus seine Eleganz eingebüßt und müsste dringend an vielen Stellen repariert werden. (Gerissene Tapeten, Ränder und Flecken auf den Möbeln)

Les + : literie très confortable, hôtel très joli, Clim dans la chambre, personnel notamment le soir au bar très sympa.

Pour une chambre à + de 200€, rien pour accrocher les serviettes dans la chambre, robinets de douche cassés, propreté de la sdb moyen, pas de sacs poubelles dans les poubelles, pas de code wifi, c’est un peu limite. Et surtout : il est annoncé sur booking que l’hôtel possède un parking mais ce n’est pas le cas. Il faut aller se garer dans un des parkings publics aux alentours, et payer 17,50€/24h… détail non négligeable. Heureusement que nous ne restions qu’une nuit.

La ubicación es fantástica, frente al Château de Fontainebleau. Habitaciones de buen tamaño, las camas eran cómodas, pero son bastante anticuadas y necesitarían una puesta a punto. Los lugares comunes están mucho mejor mantenidos. El desayuno es variado, con buenos productos y el personal del hotel es muy amable

Necesita que se haga una modernización de las habitaciones y los baños, así como del Mobiliario.

L’emplacement à proximité du Château de Fontainebleau et des parcs, mais aussi du centre ville et de ses établissements et commerces. Au pieds de l’hôtel un parking souterrain.

L’accès à l’hôtel est compliqué. Aucun arrêt pour descendre de voiture. Il faut savoir qu’il faut se rendre immédiatement au parking public et y garer sa voiture et se débrouiller avec ses bagages pour rejoindre par ses propres moyens la réception: pas de voiturier ni de bagagistes. Nous avons eu á l’arrivée et au départ, Matilde, la seule personne souriante et avenante de la réception.

The hotel is ideally situated in the very centre of Fontainebleau, the (side) entrance to the Chateau gardens is just across the road. Plenty of cafes and restaurants around, and the hotel’s breakfast selection is also quite good. Rooms are clean and comfy, with stylish decor, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. One thing that I found a bit disappointing was the “gym”, which is really a room with some mats and weights, but not much more. However, if you are going to Fontainebleau for an INSEAD programme - there is a fantastic gym on campus, and the 20mins walk/ 10mins jog from the hotel makes it a nice warm-up. The walk is beautiful and helps you see around town - it is a great hotel choice if you would like a mix of the campus proximity and the Fontainebleau charm.

Emplacement idéal face au château de Fontainebleau, personnel de la réception particulièrement attentif et agréable, chambre au charme désuet avec sa toile de Jouy (des chambres contemporaines existent aussi pour ceux qui les préfèrent).

The staff is wonderful! We needed to change our room from the first floor, which is quite dark, which the staff did for us -- gave us a lovely room on the third floor. LOVED the open window, the LIGHT, super comfy queen bed, and the breakfast/brunch is fantastic -- best we have ever been offered! The dining room also has a small library, and the location is perfect. Staff is very cheerful and forthcoming about best restaurants, etc. 10% discount at WONDERFUL day spa, Le Spa Oïa, just half a block down. The spa manager, Catherine, is awesome; she is very kind and elegant, and speaks English.

Parking was a bit crazy -- it's in a lot across the street, so you have to take luggage through the garage, up an elevator, and across the street into the hotel. They do validate parking, I think it was about $15 a day, not bad. The lot is VERY tight.

La chambre confortable et vaste, avec de jolis fauteuils incitant à la lecture. Le petit déjeuner royal, toujours servi par une personne accueillante. L'emplacement de l'hôtel, au centre-ville et proche du château.

Sans aller jusqu'à dire que nous n'avons pas apprécié : le mobilier accuse son âge et sa peinture mériterait d'être rafraichie. Petite difficulté à nous faire comprendre au sujet de notre besoin d'avoir des couvertures plutôt que des couettes.

In addition, they serve a buffet breakfast in the morning at an extra cost. With numerous restaurants just a short walk away, lunch and dining options are plentiful. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone planning to spend a night or two in Fontainebleau.

We really liked Aigle Noir after our stay in a 4 star hotel in Paris which was not great. The staff here were really nice and helpful, the room was nice, quiet. Comfy pillows and bead and good shower.
