A fantastic place to stay! It is located in a nice area, well furnished, and has ample kitchen supplies. No oven but really nice bbq's. The master bedroom doors opened up to the best saltwater pool ever! Very nice staff. Desere lives across the street and provided an early check-in knowing our other rental had an early check out. l would highly recommend the Canucu Residece.
What an amazing time we had. Reggie was a delight to be in communication with. He was extremely helpful and fun to talk to. We will definitely be returning. Location is excellent close to everything. Bed was comfortable. Place was very clean
Pool and kitchen were nice. Very large rooms. We will use this hotel when we come back.I
Home away from home.
Overall we had a very good experience staying here. They were so friendly and so helpful. Our suite was excellent and well equipped with everything we needed… even a cooler for going to the beach. We were close to everything. I highly recommend staying here.
Quiet area, plenty of stores and supermarkets nearby. Private parking
The girl who takes care of everything, sorry didn't get her name but she is wonderful! Place was clean and the pool was sooo nice and quite.
Stayed at the Aruba Cunucu, great place to stay close to the beaches and many restaurants. Nice pool also, highly recommend. Paul R.

This place is fantastic. John is a great host and I love this place . It’s close to everything.
The host was so nice and accommodating. Would stay again.
Property manager was very sweet and gracious. She made us feel welcomed and ensured that we had everything we needed.
I would recommend staying here over and over again. If you're not one that needs the big resort on the beach but enjoys simple and peaceful, this is for you! Check in was easy, we had a kitchen, the ac was amazing, we had our own poolside space. It was great. I would recommend having a rental vehicle, you aren't walking distance to shopping or beaches but you are a short drive to the beaches. Our host was hands down one of the kindest and most accommodating to all of our needs while there. She helped us with places to go, shared with us about Aruba and taught us a few things. Her warm spirit made our stay 100 times better! I dont think you would find this in a large resort. This listing says there is a bar and i can say that there is not. But if you'd like a drink, there seems to be no shortage along the beach or at any of the local supermarkets. Overall I'd without hesitation book here again! One happy island!
Staff is great
Ursula was excellent!! Very helpful when we realized we needed a rental car while staying on this side of the island!! Properly is clean peaceful and very welcoming! Pool is amazing!! We will stay here from now on in Aruba! More info about the property on “Travelguruvt” YouTube page!!
El lugar es muy tranquilo ideal si quieres salir del drama de una ciudad grande
It was our first trip to Aruba And the Cunucu Residence is 5☆ Thank you 😊 Aruba is my favorite island now 1 Happy Island 🏝
Extremely clean and comfortable apartment. The host, Ursula, was very friendly and caring. We had everything we needed and felt safe, I would definitely stay here again and again.
Everything at this property was exceptional. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with utensils and the host was exceptional as well. I highly recommend this place
Large kitchen/living room. Towels for bath and pool. Outdoor area in front and back of rental space. A staff member on site. Adjustable air conditioners in bedrooms and living room l.
There is only one bathroom for two rooms (we had four adults). There were no paper towels or napkins in the kitchen.-Needed to ask for them.
Great place for on a budget
Nice pool, easy to get around the area to beach, store or town, preferably need rental car.nice manager Owen and wife Cherry very helpful. Nice kitchen, refrigerator, nice bbq facilities. One problem is road name and place name etc not marked well,
Clean, friendly staff and peacefull
Every one was very accommodating
the Staff was great
We stayed at the property for two weeks in October of 2019. We had a fantastic time. Right from picking up our rental car at the airport. Rental car was arranged by Aruba Cunucu residence. We decided to rent a car so we would have freedom to see more of the island which we were certainly glad we did. Our closest beach was 5 minute drive away. We chose to drive so we can put our lawn chairs and coolers in the car. Many people walked it to the beach 10 minute walk if that. The on-site manager's 24/7 where Mr Winnie and his wife. By our choice we sat with them poolside many of times and learned a lot about Aruba through them both. We cannot wait to return to Aruba and will definitely stay here again. We've been to Aruba many times by way of a cruise ship. We enjoyed the freedom the car gave us and visit it five other local beaches. And a must-see for animal lovers is the Donkey Sanctuary.
My last trip 2019 was my 5th vacation time in Aruba & always stay at Aruba Cunucu Residence! It is the perfect place to stay and do my own thing while on the Island - it is like having my own place with a beautiful pool right out my patio door! Cannot wait to go back this November 2021 as safe travels are back in place. I LOVE Aruba and the only place to stay at Aruba Cunucu Residence!
The property is clean and the people are very friendly. They are very helpful too if you need something. Anything that you need for your condo, you literally walk down a few steps and you have a live-in handyman right at your doorstep.
I recently wanted a family outing to celebrate mi wife's birthday and seeing the whole CoVID situation we are in decided that traveling is out of the question and decided to stay here and enjoy ourselves for a bit... I judge everywhere I stay for 3 things; tranquility, cleanliness and friendliness and must say that this place passed all 3 subjects with flying colors... the place is quiet, serene and relaxing, the staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms where clean and up to date with a complete kitchen and grill... if the situation we are in doesn't improve I will be staying here fort my birthday as well
Searched the internet looking for the best place to stay for our first trip to Aruba. Really glad I found this place as it was perfectly located close to great beaches, especially Arashi beach. We rented a car through them as well and was able to explore almost the entire island. It was really great to be able to make breakfast, eat out by the pool, store cold drinks, sandwiches in a fridge that we were able to pack in the provided cooler for a day out. Beach chairs were also a great bonus. Communication with owner and managers was easy through email. Wenny was very friendly and helpful. Hopefully we can make it back again. As others have said this is not a 4 star hotel type, but it is clean(daily housekeeping included)and well maintained. No better value on the island.
The manager, Wenny, was pleasant upon arrival. But we didn't see him after that. Two of the AC units had visible mold. Great to have free beach chairs at Moomba beach.
This was our second stay here. Again a great choice. Very welcoming, friendly. Always so clean and tidy. Soft, fluffy, clean towels and fresh swim/beach towels daily. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Not a party spot, perfect to shut down from work and relax. Most persons that we have met here are repeat visitors.
Great stay! I would record this property. Car is necessary.
Best value for your dollar. Don’t expect a five star resort but it is quaint, exceptionally clean and quiet away from the high rise hotels. You are still close to everything you would want and the people there are so helpful and friendly. Whenny and Flora will look after any of your needs and are super people. We hope to see them again in the not to distant future.
very very relaxing ! we had a wonderful time would definitely recommend !
This has been a really nice to stay and very nice people who run it. The rooms were clean and big. The kitchen was fully furnished with everything you need to cook. The pool was very clean and nice. We would come back and stay here.
I stayed from 5 to 11 aug. Room 3. Service was excellent. Manager was friendly and always ready when you need him. Friendly cleaning lady too. Pool was wonderful. I will stay there again next trip.
Positive is that you have the possibility to use the pool the whole day and night. But in the night it lacks light around or in the pool.
very tranquil. Great pool. Great time. No amenities (but for the pool) on property but entertainment is close by. Great to take some time off.
Perfect location to allow you to enjoy the island and also enjoy down time. Located in a residential area about a five to ten minute drive from the main beaches. Our one bedroom unit, with a living room, kitchen and bathroom was clean, wifi was great and the air conditioning worked well. Beautiful pool and deck area with plenty of tables and chairs is shared with five other units. Everything that you might want and need is provided. Especially appreciated the blender, beach chairs and cooler! A rental car worked well to visit the island and the beaches, however buses are available close by. We were very pleased and will definitely return!
Away from the hustle and bustle. Quiet like our own hideaway would return
This is such an awesome place - not a 5 star, all inclusive but exactly what we wanted - GREAT value, Extra Clean - and very roomy! We had a king bed that was actually comfortable - Apartment has a living room with TV, separate bedroom with another TV and a kitchen that is stocked with good pots and pans, all the utensils and dishes you need, toaster, microwave and stove. Plus, there are 2 grills out at the pool. Restaurants are a bit on the expensive side in Aruba (not horrendously - after all, it is an island and they have to bring food in) so it was great to be able to cook breakfast (we loved sitting out at the tables by the pool for breakfast) and having snacks and cold drinks in the frig. We made one trip to the supermarket and we were in good shape for our stay. We had beach towels provided and beach chairs too which was awesome but also, a handy size cooler and ice packs to take it out each day. Really considerate of those things to be made available! It's a bit older but they have done extremely well in keeping it up-to-date and make sure everything is working and in good order. Air conditioning was super nice - units in both rooms cooled the place down fast when we came back in the evening. There was a front and back door for easy access to parking in one direction and the pool just steps out the other door. Beautiful, clean pool too. Oh - this was our first visit to Aruba and we covered the island (be sure to rent a car! - I saw a lot of people very sorry they hadn't rented a car - taxis are not as common as other places) and this was the very best area to stay in....lots to do - easy to get to the snazzy, hotel strip but very accessible to get to other parts of the island. We thought we wanted to stay in the rural, southern part at first but very glad we didn't. This place is 1.2 miles from Arashi Beach - some of the best snorkeling on the island (swim out from the shore) and just a beautiful place for sunsets! Wenny, the caretaker lives on the premise as do the Scottish owners and their Mom who are delightful. It's no wonder so many people come here year after year - We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Aruba! By the way, this is totally handicapped accessible from the shower to the entry to the parking lot access. We didn't need it but it might be good for someone to know!
Great service immediately from booking, assisting with setting up a rental, and through out the stay. Would stay again in a heart beat.
My wife and I stayed in studio unit and it worked perfect for us. Nice quiet location, well maintained grounds and pool. Near enough to beach to be easy access with car(recommended). Nice bbq grills, had friends over and cooked out, they loved it. Was never windy here, just nice breeze to make it bearable. Always looked forward to coming back to pool and relaxing atmosphere. Thanks Wennie and Patricia(managers on site)
The neighbors were very nice. Helped with check in and gettong a car.
Small facility set in a nice residential area in Aruba's north end. Units have kitchens and plenty of space. Pool is great with views of an open area. Manager very helpful. We didn't like that we were unable to stay longer.
Very comfortable. Manager was very friendly. Wifi worked great. Very quiet, pretty good location if you have a car. It was a little difficult to find at first, I'd recommend using a GPS. Bed is very firm, but ok. Housekeeping and fresh towels every day which was wonderful. Previous review should not scare people away. Is this a modern location? No, but everything is updated, the bathroom and kitchen are great, the ac is super cold, no bugs. Pool was clean every day. Would definitely stay again.
Having stayed here 8 years ago we had pretty well had a good expectation. Upon arrival we could see that this property has not been maintained or improved in the 8 years since we first visited, except for WIFI. The furnishings (drapes ,sofa, lamps, tables, bedding) were exactly the same as 8 years ago (we have photos to prove it ) The pool deck has deteriorated and the broken terra cotta tiles have been replaced white mosaic tiles. The landscaping shown outside the pool does not exist, the stone and cacti have all been removed and replaced with some shoddy cactus .I think in 8 years they could have updated 1 unit at a time with a fresh coat of paint and some new furnishings. The photos shown are a true representation of what it looked like then and not now.
Friendly hosts and nice pool. The rooms could use updating, but great for the price. Location was good for me because it was close to where my family was staying and there was a small grocery store nearby. 👍 ❤️Aruba
Great pool, wish it was still salt water though Property manager is great
I spend five days in Aruba and unfortunately booked a studio apartment in what turned out to be a very noisey place in an industrial warehouse area in Aruba. After two days, I left and was very fortunate to find Aruba Cunucu Residence with a vacancy for my remaining days in Aruba. It is located in a quiet residential area just south of the Terra del Sol Golf Club off route 2 with an easy drive to the beaches and restaurants. There are only 8 units of various sizes, one of which (unit 4) where the manager lives. I stayed in unit 7 which was a large one bedroom apartment which could accommodate up to six people with two sofa beds in the large living room. The kitchen was fully equipped. There was wall unit air conditioning in the bedroom, living room and kitchen which was more than adequate; in fact I only used the living room a/c to cool the complete apartment. All units have their entrances in the back overlooking a large beautiful pool and patio area. Most of the other residents were from Canada including Toronto and Hamilton and the owner is from Canada and resides there during the Winter months. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly; a most enjoyable place to stay. Designated parking for each unit is on the front of the property. Aruba has a terrible lack of road signs so driving can be very difficult unless you live there but a sign on route 2 for Aruba Cunucu Residence made it very easy to find the location. I would gladly stay there again.
what a wonderful location, great property and the pool. it is something to step out of your room and into a great sized pool. the rooms are a good size, lots of amenities to enjoy taking to the beach!
Comfortable, clean, quiet, friendly and attentive service. I loved my stay. Next time it will be for longer.
We had a family weekend and we love it.. One thing that we had some issue with was the WIFI that most of the time out of service / poor signal. But overall we want to go back :)
Awesomeee stay
Aruba Cunucu Residence is not on the beaten path by any means. It's a five minutes drive to the High rise area. I arrived at the airport and was greeted by a staff member with a prearrange rental car, we drove to a nearby location and completed the rental transactions. I was given a map with the location and directions to the Residence. I arrived after 5 pm, so the office was closed (which was no problem for me).My apartment was large, it had a king size bed and two convertible couches, two flat screen televisions (one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen/living room). The Television channels are mostly Spanish, but the cable box in the kitchen had more English channels then the box in the bedroom. The house keeper does and great job cleaning the place, I had fresh towels everyday. The pool was nice and clean. There's plenty of chairs to lounge in. When it was time for me to leave the island, Mr. Hink (residence's manager) was at the airport waiting for the rental car. It was a very easy and smooth transaction. Navigating the island is not hard, My smartphone GPS worked fine.
Aruba cunucu residence is a perfect vacation spot for families , couples if you like to feel at home away from home ! I would definitely recommend this place , it's comfortable , clean And definitely worth the price ... if you're looking for a relaxing spot to stay in Aruba it is the perfect place ... I would definitely go back there !!
We stayed in Canucu Residence for a week, and we can highly recommend it. The property is on a quiet street. We rented a studio apartment. It had everything we needed and more. There were beach chairs and a cooler available for us. A cleaning lady was coming to clean daily. She supplied us with clean beach towels every day. That was a pleasant surprise. The pool was a great asset for the afternoon swim. Since we rented a car, we were able to go sightseeing. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches in the morning and the trips in the afternoon. Our favorite beach was the Eagle beach.
Decent place.
Our staying was smaxing
Lf you are looking for a mega resort don't stay here. If you would enjoy a quiet clean small property with a beautiful pool at reasonable cost, stay here. All units, there are only 7 or 8 have a full kitchen, restaurants are expensive you can defray a lot of costs by eating in occasionally. Even the studio unit is very large. You should rent a car. The beaches, shops, restaurants and entertainment only a few minutes away. North end of the island.
My wife and I stayed here for three nights in mid December. Very nice small place with 7 rooms. Rooms were very spacious and the pool was beautiful. Furnishings a bit dated but functional. Large patio area gets plenty of breeze. Only minutes from beach, hotels and shops. Car recommended, can be arranged by management.
The residence is poor and dated. The pool is great but the houses are in a need for some attention. The owner lives in Canada and isn't there. The owner of the car rentambt runs the place but is busy with his own company. The place is quite but there is no vibe at all. We shared the residentie with one otter couple. There were no other guests buring our stay. Its very expensive for What you get and there are a lot of hidden costs. We had to do a lot of deposits i didn't like and who no one tell. We always go to a residence on SXM, we pay less and it's sooooo much better then this. Nothing on Henk (car rental) it's a nice guy.
I had a really good stay here, the pool is well kept and the rooms are very big, its advisable to have a car, it was really cheap on Aruba and that way you can get to different beaches etc. The lighting in general around the apartments and pool area needs to be maintained for safety, The pool is really nice and well kept. Highly recomended
A nice place with large rooms and well equipt, away from the beach but walkable but a car is preferred
Booked last minute with April and she set up everything from Canada! We were upgraded to the 1 bedroom suite for the 8 nights we stayed. Located in Ruby, safe neighborhood, super convenient to the beaches and very quiet at night. Room was very clean but a little outdated. Housekeeping was great as they cleaned up daily except sundays. Kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. Drains were a little slow as I heard this was usually a problem. They have a salt water pool which is a nice addition. Parking on the premises right in front of the rooms though there is also plenty of street parking. Would definitely stay here again. Great value.
If you are looking for a 5 star resort, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean place that is not over crowded that is conveniently located to nice beaches, this is a place for you. We found the place on Tripadvisor and exchanged a few messages back and forth. We then followed up with a couple phone calls with John, the owner who is a resident of Canada and spends a lot of time in Aruba, to confirm some of the details and the location. We stayed Monday to Saturday after staying a few days in Oranjestad. We wanted a place that we could make our own meals and do things at our leisure. We rented a studio but it was way bigger than any studio I have stayed in. It had a very spacious bathroom, a full size fridge, a microwave, a stove top, toaster, blender, a full sink and lots of pots/pans, dishes, serving utensils, tupperware, ice cube trays and glassware. We made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the beach and we brought some frozen meat from the US in a cooler to grill by the pool (glad we did as the meat at the stores did not look as good as it did back home in our opinion). We grilled out by the pool and found the grill under the palapa to be fine and then heated up our leftovers from grilling or eating out in the microwave as need. The pool is an extremely nice infinity pool with palapas all around. The place was a 2-5 minute drive to a couple beaches that were not overly crowned like Palm Beach. Hank, the manager, was on site daily and asked if we needed anything and the cleaning lady was extremely pleasant and would greet you each morning. Our room was cleaned daily and we were provided clean towels. As others have said, the furniture is a little dated, the wifi may not be as good as it is at home and the hot water is not extremely hot but if you are looking for all of the amenities, you are better off renting something that is going to cost you twice as much. I would definitely recommend others to try this place as long as you are not looking for a 5 star hotel and we will more than likely stay here on our next trip to Aruba.
We really enjoyed being in your hotel, my kids love the pool and love the view and the comfortability.
The owner, John, is very helpful. While this place is not the Marriott, it certainly was comfortable and adequate. You stay close enough to the Palm Beach area (less than a 10 minute drive) without the Palm Beach prices(which are astronomical). I would stay here again.
When we landed we met a local couple which gave us a ride to residence. When we arrived there the owners introduced themselves and gave us all info we need to get transportation. We been all over the world world and this hotel should be rated at 5 star for everything except location(not on waterfront).
This place was perfect for our stay one week stay in Aruba. It was just a short drive away from Palm Beach, yet away enough from it. The neighborhood is very quiet and we felt very safe. The apartment itself was a great size with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom. The only complaint I would have was the hot water would finish very quickly but apparently that is the case in most parts of the island outside of the mane hotels areas. The pool was very nice to have for an evening refreshing swim, be cause the beach is where you want to stay during the day. If you truly want to experience the island, make sure your rental car is a jeep. Take it off roading if it's too cloudy for the beach. The off road trail by the lighthouse (takes you to the goldmine ruins and what used to be the natural bridge) is free, and the National Park one (to the natural pool and caves) is $11 per person. As far as food goes, make sure you read the attachment on the confirmation email you'll receive by the management at the apartment complex here. The owner John and his wife, Eleanor, know all the local spots and best places in the island for a well priced grub and drink. We had the pleasure to meet them both while we were in Aruba and they were awesome people very pleasant to talk to. We had an awesome and unforgettable relaxing week at Aruba Cunucu Residences and would strongly recommend it to our friends and family. We hope to return there soon.
Very friendly housekeeper who was only regular contact through the week. Never once saw the property manager, only his wife once while checking in - tried multiple times to ring bell to speak with him to get the wifi password but never reached him (eventually found the password taped to a mirror in the apartment). Note the wifi was not very strong, and should not be relied upon for any length of time. Very peaceful location out of the way, but if there are other loud guests in the adjoining rooms it's hard to tune out the racket. Shower drained so slowly that a <5 minute rinse left a 2" puddle for about ½ hour to 3 hours, depending, and there was only one temperature for any of the water: warm-ish. No access to laundry facilities though saw on last day there was a washing machine for the housekeeper to use - would have been nice to pay an extra fee to use it if necessary or to even pay to have laundry done on premises. Overall a great value if you don't mind not having things in tip-top working order and you don't mind springing for paper towels, hand dish washing soap and going without an oven (though there was a gas range with an assortment of pans).
Lovely pool. In a fairly nice neibourhood, fairly close to the beach. Must have a rental car, but that can be taken care of very reasonably through the reservation with john. Rent 4 cheap is a great company. Henk will take good care of you and the cars are new and very clean. Would definitely use then again. Great time in Aruba. B & b Kurtz
The over stay I would rate a 3. I think the location is not that bad. It's only a 10 min drive to the high rise area. I think this place would be great with a few updated. The beds, decor, kitchen is very outdated. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay this is for you. If you can afford something a little better go ahead and spend it. My favorite part of my stay was the pool area. It was very relaxing and quiet. I expected more for Aruba.
Quaint little place tucked away. Nice sized room, decent bed. Nice staff. Could have been cleaner. Obvious upgrades have been made, but still some things need fixing. Very nice pool.
They offered free WiFi, but was able to get it at only certain parts of the room. They offered free cable, but received static on all TV's on all channels. The kitchen sink flooded because the manager said that it does that when the septic is full, which is daily (my husband had to use the plunger several times). The manager was not accommodating and always seemed to be in a hurry to rush off to his car rental business. They advertised several times that he would assist with attractions, but when asked for help, he never delivered. Several, if not all things, worked only partially. The kitchen faucet was about to break off the sink, the shower needed adjustment along with the toilet handle, lamps burned out or were missing bulbs, only half of the toaster worked, drawers not closing, all the French doors to the pool bang open and shut all the time making a nice quiet place very noisy (even with all that wind, they could be adjusted), the grill outside had only an empty propane tank and the pilot light wasn't working, The place was filthy when we got there (lots of black mildew in bathroom ,esp. on showerhead and urine around toilet, there were sugar ants all over the kitchen area for our entire stay (over a week). The reservation was for two king size beds; but the room had only one and the other was a queen size. It is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood and Marta, our housekeeper, was excellent! But if we get partially what was offered, we should be paying partially as well!!
My wife and I stayed here for a week . This spot was perfect for being away from the crowds of the highrise area, but close enough to walk to there or Malmok beach ( a long walk but doable ) if you wanted to . Pool was clean and warm. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had a problem with the fridge and it was fixed pronto. The kitchen and fridge really helped reduce food costs as there was a grocery store close by. I would recommend a rental car though . We tried using the bus and walking for 2 days but we were all worn out. The rental car really took our vacation to the next level. I would come here again in a heart beat . Good price , great staff , good quite location.
C unucu residents is not too well known by its residents taxi service had a hard time finding the place the place itself had no sign letting you know you were at the right Place. Check in time is limited you may not have anyone to received you after 7 pm. To get around you may need to rent acar.
Nice staff, quiet and comfortable rooms. I also liked the pool, nice for lap swimming.
