Sahaa Beach Resort

The property is well designed, landscaped, and the rooms well equipped.

The location of Otres Beach is far, far less appealing than it was prior to 2020. The international ambiance was destroyed by demolition and redevelopment. Lack of WiFi coverage in our two rooms, absence of TVs in the rooms, non-availability of Western options for breakfast, lack of a bartender for cocktails.

Osebje zelo prijazno

There was a pool boy who pointed us to a direction with cleaner beaches.

Stay far from this side of town in general, if you’re coming for a beach vacation this is not a place to be. The beach on this side of town is totally trashed, the worst I’ve seen in my life. There was also trash in the room and in the hotel pool, stuff was not helpful at all. Do yourself a favor and don’t book this.

Needs a really good clean and updating. Breakfast choices not great & no coffee or hot drinks available

First, I should say that the staff were lovely. They tried to help. I refer to the younger staff members who are left with the lion’s share of the work, not the older owners or managers who don’t seem to do much. Let’s talk about the good stuff. When you enter, you can see traditional Khmer artwork and sculptures which make for some good Instagram photos. You’re right on the beach, surrounded by street vendors selling food, restaurants, cafes, and shops selling beach stuff like swimmers, floaties, sand buckets, and toys. Take a left out the door and stroll along the beach until you get to Khmer Noodle. They offer great food, both Asian and Western, as well as café drinks. The bathroom was huge, with a lot of shelf space. (We’ll talk about the issues of the bathroom later.) The shampoo and shower gel offered were good quality. There was plenty of wardrobe space in the unit. The desk was a little small though, with no chair, just a stool. There was a fan and air conditioning. The front veranda with space to sit and a small table to imagine the coffee that you could drink there. And there were extra racks to hang beach towels. The pool was nice. It could do with the leaves and pollen being cleaned off the surface, but it was good enough to swim laps in. There are no mattresses on the poolside furniture.

One of the biggest problems was easily avoided. Our bathroom was open to the elements. One of the walls was bamboo and there was a gap of more than 30 cm (12’) between it and the ceiling. I was okay with this arrangement at first because I like camping but the person I was with was worried about peeping toms looking in. We certainly got mosquitoes in the bathroom, and some of them made their way into the bedroom itself. Other units were not like this so, I don’t understand why I was giving this room when I booked a few months in advance. I was in the Deluxe Double Bungalow with Garden View, room 114. My advice, check the bathroom first before you accept the room. We asked about it and were offered another room but by then we had unpacked, and we were only staying two nights, so we did not want to make any trouble. By the second night, with the mosquitoes, I was second guessing this decision. Other issues that are also deal-breakers include: The food – it is impossible to get any fruit, even at the buffet breakfast or when it is on the menu. We tried to have dinner there on the first night but there was no fruit, no smoothies, no café drinks, and limited choice. About half the menu was not available. I walked onto the street and bought fruit to take back to our room. The cheesecake we ordered was not cheesecake. I’m not sure what it is, but it is nothing like cheesecake. The resort runs a buffet menu if they have ten guests, so I was able to experience both versions of the breakfast they offer and neither of them are worth it. Even the Khmer person I was with said the Khmer food was not delicious. The staff do not seem to understand coffee culture, it is terrible. My coffee with milk, even when I was able to get it, was cold too. If you turn off the air conditioning, you will notice a smokey smell. After a while, this made me sneeze and cough. I turned the air conditioning back on just to filter the air a bit. I’m not sure where the fire was though.

Die Aussen-Anlage ist wunderbar.

Schöne Anlage, die allerdings etwas ungepflegt ist. Der Service war mässig, das. frühstück ebenso

Internet speed in rooms was terrible had no roof on my bathroom and mosquitoes infestation

We enjoyed the villa pool, room was larger than expected, clean & comfortable bed.

Only down side was the mosquitos....need repellent. However, it is rainy season so mosquitos were expected to be around.

The cozy place, the choice of food is great. The room is clean and nice. The staff are good.

The facade outside needs to be painted.

Location and the friendly stuff. Close to the beach. Best spot.

Quite rundown, needs some maintenance. Could have been much better if it was just refurbished a bit.

I live in a remote room with a private pool, the pool was cleaned very rarely, there was practically no internet, the wi-fi router did not work. Television did not work at all.

Very good location

Too many mosquitoes

The rooms were spacious and comfy beds. The shower was powerful. Bathrobes and toiletries were supplied. AC was good.

The pool area was full of broken furniture and dirty. There wasnt enough places to sit for the 4 couples that were there. Old food plates, drinks and towels could lay around for days. We had the executive room with pool but it's on a corner so too noisy to sit there and traffic is all day and night. I never saw anyone clean our pool or the main one ever and they were full of leaves. Sometimes they would leave sprinklers on and the muddy water would run into the pool. Breakfast was a buffet for 5 of the 8 days we were there and it wasn't great..ran out of croissant, fruit, fruit juice toast, no butter, had to ask them to make coffee as the pot was empty. We often went and bought drinks outside as you could never find staff to order one. Far too expensive for what we got. Our booking said we would get a complimentary fruit basket but no one knew what we were talking about and we never got it. Otres beach is dirty and there is little there but lots of half built buildings...would not recommend.

Tranquil location feet from the beach. An oasis of a swimming pool.

Breakfast was the weak link.

Nothing

Work was going on while we were resting by the pool. It was very dirty all around the common areas. Noisy compressor starting up while we were by the pool.

Cocktails are really cool!! The team is really nice and helpfull!

Almost all the facilities are old, damaged and dirty. It feels like the hotel is 30 years old and no renovations have been done since. The pool and sun loungers are dirty and it doesn't make you want to swim. Around the hotel there is not much to do, almost no restaurants and no bars.

Beautiful location and great staff

I enjoyed everything at the property

The staff were amazing.

The property as a whole needs a little TLC.

The mini bar and the swimming pool. Exceptional services from the staffs. They are quick and responsive.

Beautiful place ,staff very helpful and nice Excellent food and service

Good location - opposite the beach, though need to walk across the road. Soft towels Coffee sachets and coffee mate in the room - I had to give some compliments 😂

Very dirty, not well maintained. No beach facilities or lack of. Mosquitos. And let’s put it this way… I had the executive room and it was a dive. Very dirty, old stained furniture. Honestly. It COULD be a good property. It’s just laziness and a lack of intent and care that’s let it get to this state. There are so many things that could be better and easily. You have good staff, that’s the most important thing. You just need an owner that actually cares and can put some money into the place. Honestly it’s a big disappointment. The staff were lovely though.

Although Sihanoukville is a little bit unobvious destination in Cambodia, Sahaa Beach Resort is worth of recommendation. Service was good, staff really nice and helpful. Hotel has absolutely gorgeous lobby, very pleasant for evening coctail or beer. Rooms are ok, spacious, located in villas in the garden. Swimming pool, although rather small, is really nice

The Curtain is dirty

Very welcoming staff from the start. We felt really safe there 24 hours security at the enterance from the street. Reception works till 22 hours. Food in restaurant is really good considering low prices - you can have decent meal plus drinks for reasonable price. The resort itself is really green, clean relaxing. Beach is on the other side of the road. We had villa with private pool so it was perfect to dip into the water any time.

There is no any flaws. The only thing to keep in mind, that resort is located near busy street so it's better to bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. It's quite noisy during the night. Of course it's not hotels fault but just the tip :)

Excellent staff - all very helpful and friendly - creating a caring, almost family atmosphere. I couldn't be more positive about them and their willingness to help. The pool was nice and the public areas attractive and welcoming. The location, just opposite the Otres beach is excellent.

Sihanoukville is in a period of change - especially the main town area. Otres beach is a better area and the Sahaa Beach resort seemed to us to be the best of what was on offer here - not as glitzy as some (but they appeared empty). I suspect that the Otres area will continue to improve over the next years. If you are heading to Sihanoukville this is a good choice. Our room was cosy rather than expansive.

Very clean comfortable beds, great location, very quiet, very good food in the restaurant and staff were very friendly and helpful. Best sleep I’ve had in a long time.

We had the room with the private pool and it was lovely. Room was comfortable and spacious. Pool was not overlooked. Staff made us feel really welcome.

Wonderful staff, so helpful (Sokea and Jamie) Very nice room, very comfortable bed Good road into town, Sokea super helpful with transport

A little noise at night (bass) from a few blocks away, not bad

Good service Restaurant area is pleasant

The food is not good at the restaurant. The bungalows are not well sound proof Swimming pool not children friendly

Welcoming and attentive staff. Good location for Sihanoukville. Well kept grounds and swimming pool. Nice facility overall.

Breakfast was a disappointment. Chafing dishes had not been lit, so buffet food was all cold. Even the local rice porridge was cold!

opposite the beach

staff not helpful. bar/restaurant close early. WiFi not working.

Everything was very good, but the employees were just fantastic, especially Sokea, who was amazing: nice and very, very helpful. Also the manager was very nice and helpful. Sahaa Beach Resort made us feel in an oasis inside Sihanoukville. Thank you for everything!

Hotel is okay. The area is dreadful. Sihanoukville must be the biggest building site on the planet! The hotel shakes when heavy vehicles pass the hotel. I am not exaggerating! This happens most of the working hours of the day. Thankfully hotel is not in the city centre. Avoid Sihanoukville till the building work has finished, what a mess.

The hotel was cute staff was friendly but the area around it wasn't and getting there was difficult as the roads were terrible almost 4x4ing to get there. I guess there was flooding in that city a month ago . Garbage all along the sides of the roads and the smell wafted into the resort off an on. Water is not crystal clear n blue like in most pictures of the region, more cloudy and greenish. I wouldn’t recommend going to Sihanoukville at all as it’s more little China with terrible roads and garbage no infrastructure to handle or care to and construction everywhere. koh rong islands were nice but again the water not as pictured by most.

The journey to the Hotel was disastrous, muddy and very uneven road to the hotel with full of construction along the way.

The hotel is nice, pity the service is so mediocre and the hotel is not very clean. The air conditioning was leaking on our pillows. The restaurant is okay, not delicious but not bad either. The worse is when you cross the road to go to the beach. It is a big pity because the beach is really beautiful, but filled with so much garbage, we couldn't even bare going, it is really disgusting. Not only few papers on the floor but piles of garbage. It is very sad to see, what a pity!

Considering this is a relatively expensive hotel for Cambodia I was disappointed with the room (this is not my 1st trip to Cambodia and I have travelled extensively throughout Sough East Asia). We booked the room with a private pool but on checking in we found someone in the pool and the room was not clean. The ‘private’ pool is NOT private everyone can see in and quite often come over for a nosey and the hotel staff often just appear through the bushes because they do not want to walk to the gate. It is anything but private. The furniture although appears quite new is very cheap, badly fitted (doors don’t shut properly) and chipped or badly stained. The walls are very thin. The bathroom had litter from previous guest that was still there when we checked out. Whilst I was very disappointed with the room the communal areas were lovely and breakfast was fine. The resort however has been very spoilt and is currently like a building site. We left 2 days early even though we had already paid in full due to our disappointment with the room and the resort. I would advise anyone to go to the Islands instead for a nicer experience of Cambodian beaches.

Sahaa Beach Resort is a super place to stay. The food was good, the rooms were really comfortable and modern. All The staff were brilliant, genuinely friendly, kind and helpful. The highlight for us were the well kept, tendered, lush gardens. Well done gardener.

The staff were very helpful but the location e.g. Sihanoukville was a stinking rubbish dum and that included the state of the beaches.

best in sihanoukville

Hotellet helt underbart. Fina rum och bra service. Närområdet skräpigt.

Beautiful place and amazing service. Close to the beach and restaurants. Nice pool. Beautiful room.

We only stayed for 1 night as we were heading over to the islands the next morning. The hotel was nice and we enjoyed the pool area for the afternoon after we arrived. Staff was kind and room was clean.

This hotel is an oasis in sihanoukville, which is not the nicest area (lots of construction/dirt roads/rubbish all over the beach/coming out of the sea). The rooms, pool, bathrooms, restaurants and staff are all great. We were unfortunately mugged on the beach close by and the staff did as much as they could to help following this. The shop owner/tour guide directly opposite the entrance is so helpful and would recommend visiting and supporting him. Overall I would say if you have to go to sihanoukville this is worth the slightly higher price, without being too expensive.

Very peaceful in the resort. Don't be shocked with the surrounding construction, the resort and the beach are lovely.

Staff at the hotel was lovely!! Restaurant food was very good. I would suggest wearing bug repellent when outside. Beach was maybe a 30 foot walk right across the street. Lots of local restaurants down the street & felt safe. Would stay again.

Best hotel in the locality, nice staff and good beach. Food is good too. However, the area is not to everyone’s taste, road outside is grubby and the pathway down to the beach is full of rubbish. The hotel should pay someone to clean this up. We had problems with the shower and electricity on the first day but these got fixed.

Intermittent electricity in the evening and no water pressure in the the morning which meant we couldn’t shower during our stay. We waited over an hour for our food at dinner and on a couple of cases our orders were mixed up or we were served something totally different. We shared our complaints with the desk on check out, although the manager was very nice and polite we were informed that the electricity and water outages were part and parcel of staying in the area (this was confirmed at other hotels). We suggested this should be included in the website, as we certainly wouldn’t have paid $120 for a night had we known... despite the issues the people who worked here were very polite and helpful, it is a shame as otherwise it could be a nice little resort!

Bathroom not clean and no hot water. Bathroom sliding doors do not slide without force. Empty glasses on outside table not collected during stay. Positive note - bed was very comfortable. Very sad for Cambodians of what is going on around there.

The hotel is one of the best in the beach.very good service. The room like the dream

Pleasant stay close to beach... nice pool... substandard breakfast as everything cold but coffee good!

Beautiful hotel, the area is not that beautiful... staff was great, really friendly, very helpful. Food was good, very close to the beach. Rooms were not that big but clean and looked beautiful.

Straße in katastrophalem Zustand, Müll, Schlaglöcher, Schlamm.

Amazing hotel and rooms, but the area around the hotel facilities is quite dead and not much to do.

Quiet and relaxing hidden gem. Comfy beds, nice pool and awesome outdoor shower facilities. This place is just a very short hop skip and a jump from the beach.

We had a really pleasant two night stay here. The staff are friendly, speak reasonable English and we got a nice Welcome drink. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. We also liked the “outside” bathroom, though it is part of the bungalow and completely private. The pool, bar and breakfast were great. The beach was just 50m away. And at the entrance is an interesting pool filled with fish, some very large, and turtles. The only negative points were the state of the dirt road and the bags of garbage near the hotel. However neither are the fault of this hotel.

1-The rooms are small , but clean and comfortable 2-my room wifi was not working 3-no much variety of food in breakfast 4-the hotel surrounding area is not clean and the road is bumpy and not asphalted

Outdoor villa vibes. Nice staff. Breakfast was bad. Surrounding area depressing.

Great location on Otres beach 1, opposite all the restaurants. Lovely clean room with an open air style but private bathroom. Service levels were very good and it came with a nice breakfast. Only downside is the beach side road at Otres beach 1 is unmade and is a bit of a mess when it rains.

Very beautiful hotel

Sahaa beach is a beautiful resort with good friendly staff. However, there could be slight tweaks to be made. I had to order a iced latte three times with my breakfast (this could be language barrier related rather poor customer service) & also outside our room was not cleaned for two days resulting in ants all outside of our room. Once these tweaks are done it would be a superb 5* resort. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Superb hospitality provided by the Hotel Manager Jamie and his very enthusiastic and willing staff. The hotel maintains a brand new feel and the beautiful lounge and dining area. The pool and loungers area is so comfortable that we frequently relaxed there, instead of walking 50 metres to the beach!

This is a lovel, well-designed hotel on Otres 1. I loved the room facilities, outdoor bathrooms with Bird of Paradise flowers growing, small pool, and charming restaurant. Good chicken with cashew nuts and mixed bell peppers and eggs benedict in the restaurant. The only flaws were that when I got into the room, there were no towels, soap, or drinking water. That was quickly remedied when I pointed it out to the manager. The next day the cleaning was very late (e.g. 3:30 p.m.). I had to get a bottle of water from the bar as I had already run out of my drinking water. I wanted to take a nap, but then the cleaning staff came. . .

Wonderful place, quiet, clean, peaceful. Beautiful room, amazing bathroom room. Nice swimming pool. Great food. Perfect service. Staff at the top!!!
