Location and honestly not much more

For those from the UK it felt like a Butlins but with less entertainment. Tried to cut my stay short and was told I won’t see a penny back, no negotiation. The “Resort” was about 30% occupancy, I requested a late check out and was told “sure that’s $25US an hour” Awful awful place.

De kamer (Deluxe studio room) was ruim, had goede airco, een bureau, een keuken met magnetron en een groot bed.

Bij aankomst merkte ik dat het resort heel weinig gasten had. Aangekomen bij de kamer was ik eerst blij verrast (zie hierboven bij wat ik wel goed vond. Bij het openen van de terrasdeur viel meteen op dat er condens en vochtige lucht tussen de ruit zat. Dat valt niet weg te poetsen, daar moet gewoon een nieuwe ruit in. Op het gras voor het terras lagen tientallen peuken!! (zie de foto’s). Het was duidelijk dat er niet schoongemaakt was. Dit werd pas na een paar keer klagen weggehaald. Op het terras stond een airco die verroest was (foto). Het hotel oogt oud en heeft een sfeer van vergane glorie. Het ergste moest echter nog komen. Ik bestelde eten op de avond van aankomst (crab stuffed lobster) en heb voedselvergiftiging opgelopen. Vanaf de volgende morgen tot de vroege middag heb ik moeten rennen naar het toilet. Zonde van de ruim €70,- wat een belachelijke prijs is. Bij het bestellen van eten twee dagen later heb ik direct geklaagd na twijfels bij de salade met kip die niet goed rook en niet goed smaakte. Neemt niet weg dat ik daar toch behoorlijk ziek van geworden ben. Daar ga ik nog een aparte klacht over indienen. Het hotel is overigens niet dicht bij het strand van de Frigate Bay Strip, daar moet zeker een kwartier tot 20 minuten voor gelopen worden. Het strand bij het Marriot waar het hotel aan refereert, is niet gratis. Daar moet een dagpas voor worden gekocht van 50 US dollars. Ik ben erg teleurgesteld in dit hotel, zeker gezien de prijs die ervoor betaald moet worden. Het is geen 4 sterren waard. Er zijn andere hotels die direct aan het strand liggen en een stuk goedkoper zijn. Kennelijk maakt niemand daar gebruik van het ontbijt, want vrijwel alle gasten die er waren gingen naar de supermarkt aan de overkant. Het lijkt wel een hostel in plaats van een hotel.

It was a tranquil environment. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Overall a wonderful stay!

The property was well maintained and the staff was pleasant. This property also has an excellent gym facility that beats out many standard hotel fitness rooms.

The pricing for this stay aligned with other hotels that offered daily housekeeping and breakfast, despite being an aparthotel without these features. I was there for a birthday and they had no special offerings (i.e glass of wine, chocolates,/ candies, flowers in the room (which they could cut from their many gardens)). At check-in I had to ask a lot of questions about the property, when I got the room I saw a QR code leading to all the info. I wish that QR code was offered/ shown at reception. They could easily take their stays to the next level witha more personalized/ thoughtful approach to the customer experience.

The room was in a beautiful location on the lake with a pretty view and was peaceful apart from the music from the pool and bar area. Generally the staff were lovely and very helpful although often the messages given to the front desk weren't communicated to housekeeping. There is a nearby supermarket opposite the hotel, which is convenient. The gardens are well-maintained. I recommend that they give the same care and attention to the rooms and building maintenance as they do to the gardens maintenance. The nearby beach was full of seaweed so not suitable for walking or swimming.

The room was in need of a thorough deep clean. It appeared that only a surface clean had been carried out. A single wipe of the floor clearly indicated that it had not been properly cleaned or mopped for some time. I arranged for housekeeping to bring a mop so I could clean the floor. The outside room doors and walls throughout the room were marked with dirt and would benefit from repainting. The paint on the balcony was blistering and peeling, giving the area a neglected appearance. The brown carpet was heavily thick with dust and required a deep clean. Overall, the poor level of cleanliness and maintenance created a gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere, making the room feel rather depressing. The hotel is very overpriced for what they deliver and does not provide international standards.

The staff is awsome. I would definitely recommend.

First of all, let me say that Blondell was the best. I spoke with her on the phone last Christmas but never got to meet her until this year May. She is very helpful and she treats everyone with equal respect. The place was nice as usual. Sleep everyone very well. Very comfortable. The AC worked well with was a major plus. The bathroom was small though and the water kept splashing everywhere outside the bathroom. We did not eat at the hotel but that is only because the of the perfect location. We like to try new places and food. We tried Rock Lobster for the first time (Overpriced) and we did breakfast at Rituals with is always nice.

The bathroom was too small and needed some kind of barrier for the water. We had the change the bathmats very often to prevent going from the nice hot shower to the cold wet bathmat. The pool water was freezing but it was still a nice swim.

I like that the room were clean fresh and modern

Could use a general uplift in certain areas.

The location was great. The room had a fully loaded kitchen, even though I did not use much it was a plus for me. Everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. Felt safe and secured. Security walked the grounds.

Simple toiletries that you usually find in hotel in case you forgot your own. We’re not there.

Loved our stay at this property. The hotel is nice and clean with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding areas. Our 1 bedroom apartment was lovely and big and comfortable. The bed was huge and so big. Loved it! Room has well equipped self catering facilities. Also self service laundry on site was was very useful for us as we aware travelling for several weeks and needed to wash clothes. Well equipped, air conditioned gym. Location is very good, on-site well stocked and good priced supermarket and pharmacy. Plenty of places to eat, all within easy walking distance. Area feels safe and laid back. Staff are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Special thank you to staff at Front Desk who helped us to sort changes to booking due to last minute changes by our airline, resulting in us having to book and the cancel accommodation additional nights. Really apprentice help in getting refunds organised.

Loved it all

Nice space, but needs maintenance attention — 3/5 Check-in was smooth and the gym and bar area were both decent. Service was generally good but a bit slow at times. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but several things need fixing. The bathroom tiles look dirty and discoloured, likely from mold. We also had a toilet that wouldn't flush for two days, and it was noisy after it got repaired. The in-room cooker is old and sits unevenly, making it hard to cook with properly. Also, only one of the two bedrooms had a working blind — the other had none at all, so we had to stack boxes against the window to block the stairwell light at night. Towel supply was also an issue — we were 4 people but only given 2 towels, and had to request extras. Housekeeping/cleaning was only every other day as well. Good bones here — spacious rooms and nice amenities — but the property needs some upkeep and better daily service to match. Hoping these get sorted soon.

I loved the pool that it’s not to deep , neither sallow I only stayed one night I didn’t get chance to explore the rest of property but I’ll be back .

I felt as if we were given a room that was cleaned days ago , due to leaning lamp we meet in the room and dust on the Back porch . But nevertheless I enjoyed my stay !

Options were good . More local options could be on menu . Wide variety of international choices .

Swimming pool was taken up for entire afternoon by children party .

Ideal hotel surrounded by restaurats and the beach is not too far. You either can walk or use transportstion. Two swimming pools on property which we used both. There is secuirty around the clock so I felt extra safe at nights. The room we stayed in was an upgrade to what my partner booked, what a surprise. The room was clean and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay there becsuse the staff we encountered made us feel like family, always engaging us in a brief conversations. Thank you to Ms. Jeffrey at reception who arranged all of our transportation needs. You are the best. We are already planning our next visit for December and would be staying at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel. See you guys soon.

I visited the island of St. Kitts with a group of friends recently. We stayed at the Royal St Kitts Hotel, Frigate Bay and I must say my vacation was amazing. Rooms were clean and spacious with comfortable beds. Kitchenette equipped with your basic amenities. Outside surroundings clean and well kept. The staff over at the Splash very pleasant and friendly. Great breakfast every morning. Big shout out to Gabby and the other Servers. The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. I must mention Ms Blondell Jeffery who assisted some of us in printing our AD forms, when we were having problems. I, will definitely recommend the Royal St. Kitts Hotel to my friends or anyone who needs a comfortable place to stay in St. Kitts. Ms. P.S.Walker Trinidad W.I.

This hotel is perfect and 5 star the rooms are specious with a Full kitchen we ate at this hotel 4 times and the good was amazing fresh cooked with beautiful views sat by the lake in the evening Situated in Frigate Bay close to loads of bars and restaurants there is even a Hard Rock Cafe Opposite the supermarket opposite it large and sells everything you will need I have no negative comments about this place great stay and lovely quiet holiday

The suite was huge. Largest I have stayed in. Very, very clean and well maintained. bed was extremely comfortable. the grounds of the property were immaculate!

Staff were pleasant but obviously a bit drained after the peak season and service was okay but not great. For example we returned from the beach and were ready to head up to the room for a shower and there had been a water issue. Despite chatting at the reception desk ( in a very quiet hotel) no one mentioned that there was no water for showers. We were also drinking the tap water and on realizing there was now none available in the rooms, we then asked for a couple more small bottles which were complimentary when we first arrived. We were told only the first 2 are complimentary and we would have to buy additional bottles. Fair enough, we were happy to drink the tap water normally but there was none available! Overall it was all just a small inconvenience, but a more professional response and better training would have eased the situation.

The property grounds were clean and well maintained. The gym is small but yet functional. Everything you need is there. Plus the room is cozy, clean and comfortable. It felt like home away from home.

The pools could get a little upgrading. Other than that everything else was fine.

The hotel was very relaxing, quiet and we loved the spacious rooms, the staffs was very friendly and helpful. And the ambiance was a plus. A hotel that we would visit again. 👌😍

The hotels resturant very good, like most good restaurants, not a huge evening menu. The time of year that we stayed was how we liked it, Quiet no hustle and bustle. View from the balcony over the lake excellent. A very chilled 10 days.

People downstairs constantly puffing the ganga. Down mind a bit of bob hope, but their heads must be some where completely else.

Most of the Front Desk Staff was not very welcoming or took the initiative to greet you as you passed by. My group's first meal at splash was met with unpleasantries and they got something as simple as sándwiches all wrong. The room was poorly cleaned, the sofá had a poor smell. The Dining table was in a bad condition and one of the stools was falling apart. The sliding doors was dirty throughout my stay. There was a smell of sewerage everytime I exited my room.

pool was great, facilities were great, liked the recreational facilities for guests. Supermarket and stores on site. Our room was next to laundry room which was great for us.

Wonderful experience! Stayed in a 2nd floor Studio suite which was spotlessly clean. Enjoyed the pool, and Splash restaurant/ bar. Front desk staff were always helpful. Highly recommended resort in a great location. Easy walk to many restaurants.

There’s nothing not to like about this place to stay. I’ll stay here every time.

The one bedroom upstairs apartment overlooked the lagoon which meant we had the sun on the balcony from early afternoon. The bed was huge and comfortable, the apartment had everything you could wish for. We had 2 balconies and a large bathroom, bedroom and living area. The gym was great, well equipped and well laid out. 2 pools were really good, towels were provided as required and there was always sunbeds around the pools, they were never busy. There was entertainment on at the bar area 2 or 3 nights per week. The staff on reception were really helpful and friendly, as were the grounds/maintenance staff and also the cleaners. There were lots of places to eat nearby, most of them good value.

We had breakfast there on the first day, but didn't do that again. For the price, selection was limited and the food wasn't great. There are some good places nearby. Also we ate at the bar area a few times in the evening. The food was fine, but some of the servers weren't too customer friendly. The beach on the East side was difficult to get to near the Marriot Hotel as the hotel didn't allow you to walk through their grounds to get to it. They said it was a private beach, but it isn't. Regardless, swimming on that side is not advisable. The other beach at Frigate Bay was okay, it was sandy but getting in and out of the sea wasn't easy due to a steep slope and stones everywhere. Once in the sea, it was fine.

I enjoyed my stay at Royal St. Kitts. This was my 2nd visit & I can confidently say I would not choose to stay anywhere else. The room was spotless, spacious & very comfortable, the rooms come fully equipped with a kitchen, which is always a big plus for me. Another highlight is the staff were super friendly & helpful, with special thanks to receptionist Ms. Blondel, who went above & beyond to provide information on things to do around the island & even arranged all of my rental needs. She made my trip extra special. For anyone planning to stay more than two days, I highly recommend renting a car rather than relying on taxis, as fares are around USD 20 each way & can add up quickly. Having a rental made exploring much easier for me. Royal St. Kitts Hotel thank you for another fantastic stay.
