Reviewed Sep 12, 2026The hotel was spacious, staff were friendly and polite and everywhere was exceptionally clean. We were at the property during a heatwave, and a fan was already provided in our room when we arrived. I thought this was well organised and considerate. The pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub is great, with towels provided.
Breakfast was the self serve buffet style, but many people probably like that.

Cleanliness of common areas in hotel was very good. I am still waiting for a response from management after I reported (verbally & in writing) hygiene & cleanliness issues of the bed linen. Also, breakfast selection did not vary from one morning to another, which was reported at the hotel.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026We had our wedding reception there in 1975 when we mentioned this we were given a suite and a bottle of bubbly which was a lovely gesture and not expected. The staff were very friendly. At breakfast there was a separate area with gluten free cereal, bread, grains and a toaster.

The only negative was there were children's swimming lessons in the pool so there was very little space for us to use the pool.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026The staff were all lovely, particularly Catherine who served us coffee in the lounge area. The reception and housekeeping staff were so friendly and helpful. We were presented with a voucher for €5 for putting a "save the planet...no need to make up the room " card outside the door which was unexpected. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and well tended. The hotel was convenient to the town and to the Riverbank Arts Centre where we were attending a concert.
I found it a bit awkward that the toiletries were frustratingly fixed quite high up on the wall in the bath and there was no flexible shower head which made it difficult for hair washing after bathing. The Saddlers Bar and Bistro menu was a quite limited so we ate out both nights.

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026It was nice size room, big bed and comfortable. Comfy blanket. Breakfast was nice, there was a good variety. The pool was good, just note, you can't lock the lockers. Beautiful location with a nice garden.
The cleaningness could be better, little details, paint peeling off, tiles were missing pieces, bathrobe still had lipstick on, the toilet door was grim in the lobby, looked like I hadn't been cleaned in ages. Just fix the little details and some paint, will go far. Room was hot, fan was provided, but aricon would be good. The pool area could do with a make over, tiles were missing, mould, unfinished pieces on the wall.

The room was spotless and very roomy and modern. Staff were very accommodating and lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely leisure centre and restaurant. Hotel was in a very good location, 10 minutes from Kildare village, and we got great value for money. Thanks to all the staff, we will definitely be back !

The only small fault can find is there was no safe in the bedroom.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026Ligging en sfeer. Zwembad groot en goed verzorgd. Ontbijt uitstekend in sfeervolle ouderwets ingerichte eetzaal. Bediening vriendelijk en snel. Mooie lounge en atrium.
Kamer was schoon maar gedateerd wat betreft inrichting en badkamer ouderwets met druppelende kranen. Bij aankomst temperatuur in kamer tropisch, geen airco aanwezig. Op verzoek werd de volgende dag een staande ventilator geplaatst dus dat werd keurig geregeld.

The breakfast wasn't great, we thought it might have been because they were very busy on the Sunday morning but unfortunately Monday morning was a big let down aswell. If staying again I would only stay room only and get breakfast elsewhere.

The USB socket beside the bed was appreciated as was the water in the room. The gym and pool area were really nice to work out in. The pool shower had great water pressure. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good with lots of choice at breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance of the town centre. A fantastic choice for a relaxing break away.
