The location was spot on. Handy to everything.

Staff only available when we checked in. Stayed gor 3 days & never saw them. Room got cleaned once.

Handy to Whirinaki where we attended a tangi (funeral). Lovely peaceful spot. Beach across the road, grocery dairy shop 5 minutes walk from the motel.

The heater in the unit was a bit suspect - unstable leg and the cord got very hot

There was no heating and no working electric blankets on the bed they seemed to be missing the cord to plug it in not really sure it was cold.

It was warm and airtight - love the heat stayed in

there was some one in the unit when we arrived so we had to wait also there was only one fork and one cup in the draws no coffee or thee was there and the tv was not good so a bit disapointing

Je suis arrivée en avance et ça n'a posé aucun problème, j'ai pu parquer ma voiture sans contrainte. Le chalet est magnifique, jolie décoration, salle de bain moderne et agréable. Plein de petites attentions dans la cuisine (café, thé, chocolat). Il manque juste une petite plaque de cuisson pour les oeufs du matin :-), sinon le reste était très bien. Merci.

Staff were hardly seen.

The location is right opposite the beachfront and directly across from the dunes. The motel has a front garden that is beautiful with native plants. The Opononi Hotel and yummy fish and chip takeaway are close. Though the autumn weather often brings grey clouds, the units/rooms were very cosy.

Location and rooms have been renovated.

The Lighthouse service doesn't seem to be as good as before.....no servicing, which meant asking for clean towels, taking out rubbish which was overflowing at the motel collection point. Broken door handle which meant my daughter had to move from a 2 bedroom to a one bedroom and not compensated fir the price difference.... The place has been renovated and it seems a shame to see a lower level of customer service. Also now has MSD guest with dogs, not a good look. Also office not open at 8.30am when checking out, just need a bit more effort put into looking after your guests please...

Morning ,We had a family gathering so this was perfect for this.All had our own units.

The quietness. The safety. The friendliness. The closeness of shops etc.

Things were addressed immediately. Efficient. Caring and concerned.

The owner was very friendly- we were able to check in early which was appreciated. The unit was spacious, well equipped and very clean. The gardens are well cared for and currently full of flowers. Loved that we could walk to the local grocery store and restaurants, as well as to the beach.

Leider konnte man die Lüftung / Klimaanlage nicht steuern. Es war sehr kühl im Apartment.

There was no spa/jacuzzi as in the ad. It would have been good with hooks on the wall and in the bathroom to hang things on, since there wasnt much room for suitcases or bags.

We only stayed one night and it was good for the one night.

Beach was just a hop across the road, restaurants and Tavern was within walking distance. Property was clean and had everything we needed.

The shower was small, shower curtain kept getting in the way or stuck to you once wet

I loved that it had everything I needed taking 2 young children away. Communication was excellent!

Nice clean facilities beside the beach. The owners were very understanding to let us use the laundry service and even offered to keep it open till we were done.

Sehr bequemes Appartement für 3 Personen. Sauber und ruhig. In der Nähe gute Möglichkeit sich preiswertes und schmackhaftes Essen zu holen. In der Nacht war es sehr ruhig.

Tolle Lage, direkt über der Strasse ist der Strand.

Wir hatten das behindertengerechte Zimmer, da wir 4 Personen waren und es das einzige solche Zimmer war. Daher war das Bad für uns nicht so optimal.

Sehr schön war die Lage, direkt gegenüber dem Strand. Dieser war trotz Hauptreisezeit relativ leer. Prima fanden wir, dass im Motel ein schöner Grillplatz zur Verfügung steht (Vorsicht: Vor Benutzung die Funktionsfähigkeit prüfen. Bei uns war eine Schraube am Deckel locker, was erst beim Grillen auffiel und dadurch das Grillen deutlich erschwert hat!) und man kostenfrei Handtücher für den Strand erhält. Die Unterkunft war sauber, in der Küche war alles vorhanden, was man für einen kurzen Aufenthalt mit Selbstverpflegung benötigt. Die Terrasse vor dem Haus ist schön - wir hatten Nr. 7 mit Blick aufs Meer, was auch sehr schön war und worüber wir uns sehr gefreut haben, da wir ein Appartment ohne Meerblick gebucht hatten. Die Gegend ist insgesamt sehr schön und ruhig, trotzdem kann man ein paar nette Ausflüge machen, z.B. zu Tane Mahuta (dem ältesten Kauri-Baum - Autofahrt ca. 30 Minuten) oder zu den Koutu Boulders - Autofahrt ca. 10 Minuten. Zwei kleine Supermärkte sowie Restaurants sind fußläufig gut zu erreichen. Wir waren einmal beim Thai und einmal beim Takeaway - beides war lecker. Es war unsere erste Station auf unserer Rundreise und wir haben das gechillte "Ankommen" bei schönem Wetter für insgesamt 3 Tage sehr genossen.

Die Einrichtung/Ausstattung ist alt, an den Waschbecken gibt es getrennte Hähnen für warm und kalt. Außerdem ist die Dusche nicht geeignet für Menschen, die größer als 1,60m sind. Für den Zustand fanden wir den Preis zu hoch.

Great location to enjoy the beach and easy walking distance from the village amenities. Room was clean and comfortable.

Despite the description, there is no sea view from the room, or any view for that matter. The parking is a little tight and directly outside each room, so sitting outside on your ‘terace’ does feel a bit like sitting in a car park.

Nice position, easy walk to shops and hotel. Older units but well maintained.
