Staff was great, they helped with everything they could. They worked to make the stay the best possible. Rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfy. Would absolutely stay again
30 US dollar taxi fare to get there from the airport. Another 60 from Mariners to sandals. Mariners made the reservations and everything worked like clockwork... French veranda on site restaurant was good. Staff at Mariners was excellent!!!
This hotel was absolutely amazing. Everyone that I came into contact felt and treated me as though I were apart of their family. From the reception staff at check-in to the security guards, the restaurant staff and not to forget the food was impeccable. I'll definitely will be return soon.
Restaurant is great , although I would love to see more traditional dinner options . Staff was amazing and accommodating. Views were spectacular !!!
Property is tired and in need of an upgrade. Staff all quite friendly.
FRONT DESK STAFF very friendly and accomodating. Waitress Kerryann at french verandah very helpful. Location ideal - food, beach, entertainment walking distance
Hotel office staff is very courteous and professional. The ‘beach’ associated with the hotel is less than 50 ft along the waterfront and 30 ft wide at low tide, nearly non existent at high tide. Restaurant is not controlled by the hotel, the restaurant frequently had item unavailable that were on the menu. However, what the did have was reasonably priced and very good.
The room was comfortable and clean and the restaurant had good meals at a reasonable price.
This is the second time I have stayed. Most of the staff I recognise from my last stay. Plus some new staff. Staff old and new are excellent. Very polite fun to talk to. Made my stay a home from home. Food was lovely cocktails brilliant. Rooms cleaned to a high standard everyday. The only thing I would advise is a change of menu during the week. Other than that I have no criticism. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
Beautiful views extremely nice workers that make ur stay a joy. Close to a lot of places to enjoy a drink or good time.
Staff was pleasant and food service was excellent
Right next to the sea, the front desk staff are friendly and professional. Rooms are good size and clean. We will return
The room I had on the first floor "201" with a pool view was very basic and clean with a king bed. The mattress was comfortable. The room was a little dated and showing signs of wear, but it was fine. The positives were that it was quiet most days by the pool, the front desk was helpful, and there was a decent restaurant "French Verandah" on-site. Service at restaurant was a bit slow, but they had good variety on the menu and the food was okay. There were several other restaurants in a 1-10 minute walk from the hotel, so there were other options. The towels were nice quality, and they provided wash cloths and bar soap. The negative was that there was no sandy beach in front of this property, so you had to walk 5-10 minutes down the boardwalk to reach a small beachy area. Also, there was no hair dryer in the room. This was the first hotel in St. Vincent and the Grenadines that didn't have one in the room. Perhaps the front desk or housekeeping would have delivered one, but I didn't have time when I discovered there was no dryer in the room.
Restaurant and view
Good room size that overlooked the beach. Let down by room decor being old and dated. Shower was not powerful probably because the showerhead holes needed unblocking. My kettle lid was visibly broken but I had to report it. Many times restaurant was out of certain food items for days. Only one member of staff made coffee the right way from the machine, with frothy milk without me having to ask. Had to prompt others. Food took long to arrive a few times, probably due to limited staff. Hotel has a lot of potential but is in need of refurbishment. Looked at other reviews and people have been saying the same thing for years. There are 4 new rooms in a separate block with very nice modern decor. All rooms should have the same decor.
This is our second visit here. We love the intimate size and the situation of the hotel. It is generally very quiet. Views are stunning. The garden is lovely. The buildings need a bit of maintenance, in particular a fresh coat of paint. The restaurant menu could be significantly improved with fresh fish and more local fruit and vegetables. We love the cocktails and smoothies!
A Little oasis in a busy city.
Was okay however got bad info on ferry to Bequia. Good service and par room.
Warm welcome from Crystal on reception. Room had great view of the sea with wrap around balcony. Bed was comfortable, the room was clean with fridge and tea and coffee facility. Only criticism was there was an overpowering smell of bleach. Ate at the veranda restaurant. Food was slow in coming but was good. Overall hotel could do with a little upgrade. We had great service so tops marks. Would consider a stay again.
Staff very hi of. Reception excellent
The staff was exceptional. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Rooms were clean and cool. Rum Punch was a favorite. The house keeping went above and beyond for our anniversary with swan folded towels and flowers with hearts on our bed, complimentary drinks and wine with dinner! Taxi arrangement to and from by staff was a big plus. Would recommend this lovely hotel to all!
Gorgeous views and amazing staff!
Nice people.
I already left one
These people have gone beyond my expectations of staying at a hotel. My sister is going through some medical issues which I had informed them about. They have gone above and beyond to make my vacation pleasant. They provided security at her door to make her safe. The staff in all areas were there for us . They were so pleasant, professional and accommodating to us. I met the boss on several occasions, very pleasant and understanding.
Stayed here for 6 nights as a solo female traveler. Very safe part of the island overlooking young island. Had a friendly relaxed feel about the place. The reception team were extremely helpful and professional. Restaurant was reasonably priced and food good. My only moan was not having fresh bananas for 5 days, no conch and no yoghurt…?! Smoothies were excellent and so was the fish Roti. Room was huge with very comfortable huge bed. AC worked a dream. Bathroom/ Shower was average but I made do. Sadly the pool was closed for 4 days - but we were able to use you’ve island instead. Ferry man over to young island was rude on a daily basis. Upmarket resort yet the rudest staff on the island! I would definitely stay at The Mariners again but avoid their sister hotel Young Island - 5 star prices in a 3 star setting. Mariners - keep up the good work :)
It was comfortable and staff nice
Great staff but property is older but maintained fairly well.
Clean rooms. The pool was pleasant. The restaurant on site is convenient, but you should explore the other options up the boardwalk. I would stay here again.
Great
The staff was superb very helpful and friendly. The propert was dated and need some upkeep. Food service was slow and their were items on the nenu that was not available for breakfast both morning ms that I ordered.
If you're staying here, be aware that there are several bladders and nightclubs near the hotel that pump music until early hours in the morning, especially on the weekends. I stay on a Saturday and a Sunday and loud music didn't let me sleep until 5:00 a.m the next day
Good - Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Restaurant food was very good. Room we were moved to was modern and decent. Not so good- Restaurant staff were slow to take orders and forgetful with what was ordered. 3 days in a row asked for something on the menu but they didnt have it. Intial room we chose was so dated, old furniture, grey dry towels bathroom grubby, on inspecting the bed, I found a variety of hairs on the mattress protector with stains. Could not unpack! The only great thing about the room was the beautiful sea view, but I could not stay in that room, it would have been way out of my comfort zone. It was like a 2 star motel!! We were upgraded, at pur expense but with a discount, and the standard was more like what was expected. Clean, fluffy white towels, modern bathroom, however there was no space as the room was crammed with 2 large beds. The front door opened directly facing the the main road, so when a drink was brought to us from the bar and we opened the door with our nightclothes on, there were people waiting at the bus stop and traffic going by that ciuld see us and into the room. A screen could easily solve that problem. The balcony could not be enjoyed as it overlooked the reception area and entrance to the bar/restaurant, with cars, taxi's and deliveries stopping and passing constantly. If all the rooms were upgraded and configured better with privacy and a decent view, then i would consider revisiting. Other than that, not worth the
My check in experience was very good. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Buildings look old and worn. Room was clean and had a nice smell.
The hotel room that was provided was not the same style as what I paid extra.I was not given the room that I booked or what was advised as result I did not complete my stay here but still had to pay for an extra night which did not make sense as I was not reimbursed for any inconvenience caused. The only good thing was the restaurant downstairs which was very lovely.Other then that the hotel was a disappointment,I feel the room that was given was old fashioned and not cleaned properly especially the sheets.
Very friendly staff and great hospitality would be back soon
Property is very tired. It passably clean. Beds are comfortable and the ac works.
Nice view.
great staff very accommodating
Not high end but clean and convenient.
Stunning view. Cute small hotel with excellent facilities and nice little outdoor restaurant. On the waterfront though not at a beach. Taxi from airport US$30, from town US$20. You need a taxi to go anywhere; there was really nowhere to walk nearby.
Loved it. The food was great, the staff were friendly, the premises was clean, the pool was the perfect temperature, everything was great. It’s in a really quiet area, about a 20-30 minute ride to Kingstown and not too many food options available unless you go into town but you could always have food delivered to the hotel like I did if you didn’t feel like making the journey
The overall property was very average, nothing special and is in need of some upgrades. The bathroom was clogged and had a foul odor, the swimming pool was not maintained, the restaurant options were very limited and the staff needs to be trained.
We love the breakfast
My stay was great the service and staff were very attentive and did their best to make our stay amazing. My only feed back would relate to the structure which will need some updates which I assume was due to the recent hurricane and damages it caused.
The hotel is good , in St Vicent island not having to much hotel options so this hotel in my opinion is one good option,, I use in this island different hotel and this one is good
Food options were limited otherwise was a decent stay. Good location
Got one of the newly renovated rooms and it was great. The double rooms are spacious.
We stayed at the Mariners as we had to move from Bequia due to the upcoming hurricane Beryl. I’m so glad we chose Mariners. It was slightly sheltered from the hurricane , which dissipated several of the local Islands and left much of St Vincent without power. Mariners had a generator, so we retained all power and a/c. This made our lives so much more comfortable. And the staff were absolutely amazing, and so nice. We really couldn’t have been in a better place, especially as our flights were cancelled for a week and we ended up spending 2 weeks at Mariners. They looked after us so well, thank you
The location was perfect. The server at the Restaurant, kerrie-Ann B was exceptional, great service
Just as advertised. I stayed directly after the passing of a natural disaster and all amenities were up to par. The stand out feature for me though was the hotel staff. They were FANTASTIC!
Loved the area and service was amazing
Great place, great service
Property is in desperate need of maintenance. The location was on the water but that’s about where the positives stop. Run down, paint missing, mouldy grout in the showers, toilet didn’t work properly, some very average painting over damaged and tired joinery.
Lovely location on the beach and walkable to the cricket ground.
I stayed at Mariners in December and January for 9 days. I really felt like home. I met such wonderful people and felt really safe. Everyone treated me so well. I know the hotel is quite old but its maintained. Thank you to the staff for making my stay memorable.
It’s not bad
It was great
I LOVEEEEEE EVERYTHING ESPECIALLY THE SAFETY.
Great location . Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable place to stay overall
Very pleasant and helpful staff. I had breakfast and smoothies at the restaurant, which were very good.
I will definitely recommend!
Wish I stayed longer
The front desk staff was so kind
Breakfast was highly over-priced.
Very nice, staff was great
Quiet and relaxing
Great staff, beautiful location, great dining.
We stayed one night on a layover to the airport. It was so relaxing, we would have stayed longer had we known what a great place this is. The staff was the friendliest we've ever encountered. They were helpful and efficient in replacing an AC remote. Comment: We could have used an extra bath towel or two and there were no towels for use at the pool. A light blanket would have been helpful too. The pool and view were enough to warrant a return trip - but again, the desk crew was delightful!
Paint on the walls was falling off on the new block due to water damage and here was scent of mold growth as well.
Friendly and help staff.
The staff was friendly. Appreciated the complimentary boat ride to Yound Island.
Nice clean basic hotel. Great view. Friendly staff.
Great hotel. Best bar and restaurant. Friendly staff
Property is at the sea front with lovely view. There was good , very quiet AC unit in the bedroom.
I loved the proximity to the beach and the food at the restaurant. The hotel sent a taxi to pick me up at the airport which was greatly appreciated. I was warmly welcomed at reception and received a welcome drink :). I would strongly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.
Great restaurants nearby.
Probably the best overall hotel in the area that I've stayed in so far... First out of four. Lovely staff!
Very helpful and pleasant staff.
Needs a little TLC. Was probably in very good condition a few years ago but could do with some upgrading. Still a very nice location and the staff was friendly.
Third time to St Vin and 2nd time here. The rooms are outdated but comfortable and clean. AC works great. Staff are wonderful and the on-site restaurant is great
Friendly staff
My stay was fantastic! This is a budget hotel, so yes, there are a few scratches here and there. But it is right on the water with incredible views, very reasonably priced, great on premise restaurant and bar, with lots of smoothies! And everyone was so so friendly and accommodating! They allowed me to have an early check in (11am) and a late checkout (4pm) without me even asking which REALLY helped my schedule and I am extremely thankful. They also connected me several times with taxi drivers to take me around the island which was great since I didn’t rent a car. All in all, I would be thrilled to stay here again!
We had a fantastic 4 nights stay at Mariners! Our room was very comfortable, clean, and modern. The restaurant was lovely. Especially the friendly staff. We spent many hours there enjoying the view and sipping their delicious smoothies! The pool was clean and warm, and only steps away from the ocean. The entire staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful! Would definitely return!! One small note: there is an additional ocupancy charge over two persons per room. A family of four (in a double Queen room) was an extra $300usd over 4 days. Just make sure you read the fine print.
The views from the restaurant are stunning and among the best in the Caribbean region in my opinion. This is a small boutique hotel with friendly staff.
Could use a renovation- old furniture. No one in office 9pm to 7am daily. Frobt desk staff excellent service.
The front desk staff were absolutely outstanding - helpful, professional and extremely pleasant in every encounter. The bar staff were equally nice and helpful but unfortunately the same can't be said for the dining room serving staff. It was baffling and really unfortunate that the servers didn't so much as smile upon coming to the table. They made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. A simple smile with a 'hello' and 'how are you this morning/this evening' goes a very long way to making guests feel comfortable and welcome. I was also really disappointed that children at the next table were allowed to watch tv shows on their ipdads with no earphones, thus, subjecting everyone around them trying to enjoy a nice dinner while Sponge Bob Square Pants was playing at a very loud volume. A simple policy to welcome children but insist they have headphones when listening to music/movies is standard in most other nice restaurants. It is simply respectful to everyone.
What a view and setting, wonderful looking over to Young Island. Breakfast was lovely in such a setting. Rooms need updating but did have a fridge and kettle. The smell of drains at times from the bathroom was not nice, no doubt due to all the rains. Evening meal was not the best experience, pork chops do not need to be grilled twice and disagreement over what was included in the Bed and Breakfast on checking out left a bad taste in the mouth. Overall - could do a lot better.
This experience was great. I was a bit intrigued by some of the older furniture in the room, the dust on the headboards, and dirty toilet. (I cleaned myself) but other than that I have no complaints. My room has the best view and relaxing to the sound of the waves from the beach was a plus. The food was very good for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and you can tell the staff try their best to serve everyone. I really didn't use any other amenities besides the dining area. Overall a great stay for the price
Parking is a problem , particularly on Friday and Saturday. Menu has not changed in 3 years. Rooms need updating
Ok
I liked the view. The room was good, love to sleep on the bed. For the convenience of customers, it's best they put a microwave. Because when you order food, and you can't finish it you want to heat it up and eat it the next day. It will be also good when there are few water bottles available in the room. I didn't like the bathroom. Drainage of water was bad in the bathroom. From the sink there was also an unpleasant smell.
Great service esp. the front desk and the restaurant.
Great room, great views!
Limited choice on menu Non availability of items
A nice place
Overall we enjoyed are stay, the staff was polite and responsive, the facility was clean but dated and in need of an upgrade.
Right at the water's edge. Very convenient
The room was clean and staff friendly. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the drinks are great.
Its ocean front view .Customer service and empathy statement when necessary
