Glen was an amazing host. Went out of his way to help us when one of the people in our group had an accident. So accommodating and really helpful with anything really! Thank you so much again, Glen!

Spotless . Bath room and kitchen . And bedroom . Great hosts father and son . We came in winter . Great time to come .warm place to stay . Not as busy very relaxing by the fire . Definitely will come again and stay in my 70s . But great for all ages . Hot water bottles . Home away from home . Pub up the road great roasts 5 min walk $20 was the best

There was no information given about how to access the building after hours and I spent a frustrating half hour outside in the cold trying to figure it out. While nobody answered their phone to help me.

Everything was great. Our favourite was the pool table. Every chance we got we were playing pool!

Honestly. There’s nothing to fault in my opinion.

Good location (not far from the railway station) Very nice staff, gave me recommendations on what to do or where the locals dine.

There was nothing in my room to lock away my stuff.

The Hoste/owner was super frindly and welcoming also offerd to give recomondation for dinner/places to go The buildinh is old but un good condiuns and I found it ok for the price

The man at the front desk was very helpful. There was a wood fire stove in the common room and hot water bottles available, which I didn't see at any other hostels in NZ. The decor is...unique.

The bathrooms were very drafty and cold. Overall felt a little worn down, but clean enough and I didn't have any problems.

Great location close to town, walk to everything.

Me and my partner walked in to check in and the staff turned us down and gave me a free refund as and this is in there words "we spent to much money on these rooms to allow use to stay here" and then to follow that starts saying how we looked like we ran under winz , this is an outrange! Just because we looked a little different he tried calling us poor. That is disgusting behavior and I do not agree to it

Friendly staff. Nice big clean kitchen. Small sink/kettle available on the 2nd floor, which was super convenient. Bed was comfortable. There is a small grocery store next door, although closes by approx 5pm. There are a few places within walking distance, but overall, most of that area of town shuts down early. Facilities are a bit dated, but it adds to the charm/history of the place. Plenty of free parking. Not a big deal, but make sure and bring your own shampoo and soap (which is not supplied). Manual (timed) heater provided in the room on the wall.

The room felt poorly maintained, with unfinished walls and exposed damage that made it look more like a renovation site than a hotel. Heavy condensation and streaking on the windows blocked natural light and gave the space a damp, neglected feel. Even basic fixtures showed buildup and grime, leaving little confidence in the cleanliness or overall standards of the property.

The room needed a rubbish bin. We were locked out of hotel as the outside door self locks when it closes.

Great big kitchen, walkways super clean. Lovely comfy bed in a clean room. Friendly owners who let us borrow bikes. Definitely recommend!

Location was perfect lots of breakfast options but unfortunately it was closed as it was public holiday.

Everything was great and offered good value for money, but the bedroom was very dusty. As we are sensitive to dust and have allergies, this was an issue. The bedroom only had bath towels; it would have been better if hand towels or face towels were also provided. Additionally, the toilet paper roll was positioned too low to the ground and should have been placed higher.

It is well located within walking distance of everything you need in Greymouth. The communal areas are great and the kitchen is spotless and well stocked. The owners are very obliging and helpful.

The place is near the train station to Christchurch (TranzAlpine). There's a supermarket, nice restaurants, pubs nearby, and also one of the most traditional breweries in the country. I really liked the city because it's very calm. The place has a great smell of incense. One of the people in charge is very friendly and obsessed with cleanliness. I saw him several times checking what was already clean, which is very good. It had boiling water for tea and noodles, large glass-fronted refrigerators for storing food, stoves with range hoods, and the kitchen was always organized and clean. The shower floor is interesting because its texture massages the soles of your feet. I loved the sensation.

I don't think anything about the hostel bothered me, considering it's obviously a hostel. Perhaps a few more power outlets for guests in their respective rooms would have been nice.

Comfortable place to stay for one night. Well stocked and large kitchen. Clean and refurbished bathrooms. Wood fire burner lit in communal area in the evening adding a cosy feeling and taking the chill off the air.

We had a wonderful time here! It was a great deal for the price. It was simple to spot the yellow building in the ghost town. We didn’t encounter anyone else in town except for quests from the hostel :) The atmosphere is quite unique compared to other places. We had a room with a shared bathroom, which was clean and comfy. In the morning, you can easily find breakfast at one of the cafes near the hostel. And of course, the admin-guy is a key and soul of this place :) Thanks!

Recently refurbished room, clean and comfortable. Right in the centre of town, with on street parking nearby. Lots of fridge space.

Nothing really. The owner was friendly and helpful, giving advice about paces to swim (or not!) and local places to visit. Son who checked us in was shy but welcoming.

The host was very helpfull and even carried our suitcases up the stairs to our room and down again when we left. Carpark was very close and handy.

Het is een prima plek om voordelig te overnachten. De host is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het interieur is wat gedateerd, maar de gezamenlijke keuken is prima. Wij hadden een tweepersoonskamer met douche en toilet. Er zijn ook eenpersoonskamers en slaapzalen.

La propreté de cet étau est très largement au dessus de 90% des hôtels booking que j’ai fréquentés. Bravoeaux gerants. Si il leur reste un peu de temps libre voir si la wifi peut être améliorée mais c’est un d’étayages. À priori on est là pour se faire beau se restaurer et dormir Bravo
