Reviewed Jun 14, 2026Probably the most warm and friendly welcome I have ever received at any accommodation, ever. When it was ascertained that I was in town for an intense few days of work, I was offered the opportunity to move to a room at the back of the complex, which was so quiet.
Unfortunately the wifi was really unreliable. Extremely slow.

WHEN ARRIVED I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD CANCELLED MY BOOKING AND HAD TO PAY ON BOOKING SITE (WHICH IT STATED WHEN BOOKED TO PAY AT OFFICE ON ARRIVAL ) AND I NEVER RECEIVED A CANCELATION EMAIL FROM BOOKING.COM OR THE CHANCELLOR. THE MANAGER/OWNER WAS SO RUDE MADE ME FEEL VERY SMALL, I EVEN ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER ROOMS HE SAID IF I WAS YOU I WOULD GO ELSEWHERE I ASKED WHY DONT HE HAVE MORE ROOMS HE SAID I DO BUT THEY ARE VERY DARE $350 A NIGHT PLUS ID WANT $200 BOND. HE WAS VERY RUDE AND PLAIN DIDNT WANT ME TO HAVE A ROOM THERE FOR THE NIGHT

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026Chancellor was super close to town, a few minutes walk, but really quiet with no traffic noise. Room was totally clean and tidy and spacious. Outside balcony with clean mould and leaf free furniture. Staff super friendly. Absolutely would stay there again.

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026Very spacious suite, heaps of room, loved the balconies although it was way too windy to really enjoy them. Beds were VERY comfortable. Kitchen facilities good, bathroom also very spacious. Great location, Woolworths just around the corner.
Only 1 chair! We had to either take it in turns to sit and eat at the table or one had to sit on the couch, not really great for eating with cuttlery. Not enough bench space for preparing food like sandwiches.

There was no heating apart from a very small oil heater and it was a very cold day/night. The tea/coffee supplies are very average - tea bags tasted like dishwater and I wished I'd taken my own.
