Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Clean rooms with very friendly staff. Walking distance to the town centre. Hotel was a pick up location for the bus to Mt Hutt ski area. Restaurant had nice food. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Once you used the supply of toilet paper, shampoo, bin liners etc you had to buy your own. We had enough for our four day stay but longer stays/ families may not. Small expense so not a game breaker but something to know.

The bed was too soft for my liking, but I guess that is a personal preference. I paid NZD290 for the studio which I think is very expensive. NZD200 - 220 per night is more fair.

Reviewed Jul 17, 2026We loved our stay. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor. The apartment was well equipped and spacious enough for 4 people. We had a mountain view, this was lovely. We travelled in the winter months and the heating of the apartment was wonderful and warm. We had a wonderful communication with staff on arrival and departure and enjoyed all the facilities at the resort.
The WI FI was not good. We were continually trying to connect to WIFI as it would drop out. We had to buy our own data as it became very frustrating.

Oven and stove both didn’t work, was reported to manager over the phone but nothing was done about it whilst we were there. There was a group having a party outside under a tarp directly in front of our apartment until around midnight. They weren’t overly noisy or loud but it did keep us awake.

Bathroom was dated and a bit old but it was functional and clean. The entry to the apartment was difficult up a steep flight of stairs which was challenging with all our luggage and the moths obviously enjoy the lights at night too…

The room was small and there wasn’t enough toilet paper for the time we spent there. They would only provide another role at a cost. The host was nice but not very knowledgeable about walking trails.

Reviewed Aug 24, 2025The resort itself is lovely — peaceful setting, great facilities, and a relaxing vibe overall. However, the check-in experience could’ve been much better. We arrived at 3:30pm, but no one was around. The dog on-site went off, and ringing the bell only made it worse. We called the resort, and the owner returned — friendly, but no apology. Our room wasn’t ready either — the cleaner was still finishing up. We gave it another 30 minutes, and all was fine after that. Without any communication from the resort, we missed out on valuable time up the mountain. On the flip side, if we’d needed the room at 2pm, it could’ve been a real struggle — especially with a toddler. The advertised check-in time is 2pm, and waiting until 4pm is disappointing. That said, check-out was easy, and we were sent off with a cheerful corgi, which was much nicer. A great place overall, but smoother communication expected.

Reviewed Jul 28, 2025We loved the view from the bar/restaurant of the sun setting over the mountains. Enjoyed mulled wine and tasty bar snacks. Room had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable.
The washing machine and dryer in hallway near our room was going until late and quite noisy. Heater couldn’t be controlled by us, seemed to be on timer and controlled centrally we thought so would be better to be able to control it ourselves.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2025Great apartment, comfy and warm. The room sizes were fine for holiday and the kitchen was well equiped. The ski bus picked up and dropped back to the Resort which was a plus.
It was a little compact - we had come from a more spacious apartment at our previous long stay so it took some adjusting but it was perfectly fine.

Not really a space for drying / hanging / storing ski gear, but we sorted it. Stuff dried overnight with the nice warm room!

Reviewed Jul 7, 2025Convenient pick-up point for ski bus. Close to the city centre. Comfortable beds, washing machine and dryer close to the room, AC in the room. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful views.
The room was smaller than it appeared in the photos, not enough space for your luggage especially for ski equipment. There was also unpleasant smell, hard to say if it was from the carpets or something else.
