Ata Lagoon Beach Hotel

This was probably the worst hotel I have stayed in throughout my entire history of holidaying—and I am not exaggerating. From the moment I arrived at Athea Lagoon Hotel, I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. The manager looked me up and down at reception in a way that made me feel judged and rejected. I cannot say with certainty what motivated his attitude, but I genuinely felt there was an element of discrimination in how I was received and treated. Because there appeared to be very few staff available, the manager took me to my room himself. He led me down to what felt like a basement or cellar. The smell of damp was so overpowering that it was almost intoxicating. The room was completely unsuitable and, in my opinion, should never have been advertised on Booking.com as an acceptable economy room. I am disabled and live with severe arthritis. I have a right knee replacement that is failing and a left hip replacement that is also failing. There was no reasonable way I could stay in such a damp and inhospitable room. I firmly refused to accept it, but the manager repeatedly insisted that it was the room I had selected. Instead of being allowed to settle in and begin my holiday peacefully, I had to argue just to be given somewhere habitable to sleep. Eventually, he moved me to another room but demanded an additional £60. I objected and contacted Booking.com for help, but I received no useful response while I was actually at the hotel and needed support. The following morning, the manager told me that if I did not pay the extra money, he would cancel my entire booking without a refund. I felt pressured and backed into a corner. Rather than risk losing my accommodation and all the money I had already paid, I reluctantly paid the extra charge. Unfortunately, the upgraded room was not much better. I was given dirty towels on two separate occasions and had to take them back to reception.

A zona exterior da piscina é realmente muito bonita e confortável. O hotel está localizado muito perto de restaurantes e praia.

Os quartos económicos são bem mais pequeno do que mostram nas fotos. É difícil abrir as malas neste quarto. A mobília é bastante antiquada principalmente as casas de banho e cheira um pouco a mofo.

Camera înghesuită, miros de mucegai și mucegai peste tot, mobilier degradat, televizorul cu telecomandă nefuncțională și programe neinstalate. Când am cerut la recepție să se rezolve problema cu televizorul, au spus ca nu merge, dacă vrem să vedem meciurile de la campionatul mondial, să mergem la restaurant, unde bineînțeles trebuia să faci consumație,pentru că oricum au decât 4 canale turcești și nu e meci pe niciunul. Am reușit eu să instalez 8 canale, din care 4 în engleză, iar unul turcesc transmitea și meciurile de la campionatul mondial. Deci, un dezinteres total chiar și pentru un mic amănunt. Camera, cum am spus, cu un aer irespirabil din cauza mucegaiului. Pozele de pe booking, sunt făcute probabil din câteva camere renovate, pentru ca în rest e nasol. Am avut 6 camere rezervate, toate cu aceleași probleme. Păcat ca nu pot să partajez decât 4 fotografii. Aveam mult mai multe de aratat.

Отличное месторасположение, до пляжа и центральной улицы 5 минут. Не много отдыхающих, лежаки всегда были свободные. Отличный бассейн. Хороший завтрак. Удобные подушки и кровать. Уборка каждый день.

Иногда не было горячей воды. Одно утро не было горячей и холодной воды совсем. При заезде в номер не закрывалась дверь в душ и из крана текла во все стороны вода. Обратился с проблемой - починили, спасибо, молодцы.

Beautiful swimming pool area with a bar and lovelly coctails ,hot chef during breakfast, sunbeds are so comfortable toilets near the pool and all the plants it is so green with palms and exotic plants also lightning is so nice and stuf is so nice

Bathroom wasnt realy clean bit moldy , odour in room like in cottage, pillows were realy hard and thick for myslef personally

Locatie was echt super, ontbijt en zwembad gedeelte was fijn voor dit prijs

De badkamer was helaas erg oud en niet schoon, bovendien was de douchekop kapot. Jammer dat er geen aandacht is besteed aan de kamer, want dat is eigenlijk heel belangrijk. De locatie van het hotel is verder uitstekend en het zwembadgedeelte was ook fijn, maar de kamer zelf liet echt te wensen over.

Breakfast was really good, room clean, staff are extremely helpful and friendly we had an issue with the bank and they allowed us to use their phone. Pool area was really nice I couldn’t fault the hotel. Location is brilliant as it’s right in the centre everything is walking distance. I see why people return here multiple times.

Die Hotelanlage war optisch schön gemacht und das Hotel ist sehr zentral sodass man in 5 min an der Einkaufsstraße und am Strand war. Der Pool und die Bar waren auch oke.

Im Allgemeinen wirkt die Inneneinrichtung von Rezeption und Essensbereich eher wie ein wild zusammengewürfeltes Sammelsurium – alt, verbraucht und teilweise unhygienisch. Die Stoffbezüge der Stühle waren klebrig, was den ersten Eindruck alles andere als einladend machte. Auch das Personal konnte nur bedingt überzeugen: 1–2 Mitarbeiter grüßten freundlich, der Rest nahm kaum Notiz von den Gästen. Erschwerend kam hinzu, dass viele Angestellte in privater Kleidung unterwegs waren und dadurch schwer als Hotelpersonal zu erkennen waren. Die Zimmer stellten leider den Tiefpunkt dar. Uns ist bewusst, dass Bilder oft geschönt sind – aber so etwas haben wir bisher noch nicht erlebt: • winzig (ca. 20–25 qm) • Türen und Fenster stark abgenutzt und unsicher zu verriegeln • extrem hellhörig, morgens laute Putzkräfte, abends Geräusche der Nachbarn • Klimaanlage und Fernseher aus den 90er-Jahren • Badezimmer in desolatem Zustand: kaputte Ablaufrinne, starke Verkalkungen und Schimmel, so klein, dass selbst schlanke Personen Mühe hatten, sich zu bewegen • Möbel im gesamten Zimmer alt und verbraucht, Beleuchtung schief montiert, Bett unbequem, Bettbezug fleckig • überall Flecken: an Kopfteil, Vorhängen, Stuhlbezug und Wänden Auch das Frühstück konnte diesen Eindruck nicht retten: Es wurde in einem Nebenraum lieblos hergerichtet und war qualitativ enttäuschend – wir haben in deutlich einfacheren Häusern schon besser gegessen. Fazit: Dieses Hotel hat seine besten Jahre lange hinter sich. Von Komfort, Hygiene und Gastfreundschaft kann hier keine Rede sein. Wer einen erholsamen Aufenthalt sucht, sollte dringend Abstand nehmen. Leider haben wir keine Bilder gemacht da die Vorfreude zur Abreise höher war.

La ubicación está bien, cerca de la playa y la zona de ocio. La zona de la piscina muy bonita.

La cama no era cómoda y en el baño había humedad. La ducha no parecía limpia. El aire acondicionado o funciona bien, tienes que ponerlo al mínimo para que funcione algo pero en un sitio de playa y por el precio que cuesta este hotel en general la comodidad e instalaciones no están a la altura. El chico de recepción no era amable, si estás de cara a público que mínimo que ser un poco simpático.

The receptionist when we arrived didn't speak English，so the staff didn’t ask us check in and took us to the room directly. the economy room suite is in the basement. The Front desk staff gives us a room which is quite different from the official picture. The suite includes bathroom is narrow, small and poor light. If you shower too late, you won't have hot water. Apart from the great location, great scenery and swimming pool, there is nothing else to recommend.

The pool area, the layout of the property. The food and the staff and especially Cem he was amazing throughout my stay. Made the best cocktails and was so helpful with everything.

The room was very small and I booked a double but received two single beds pushed together. They did offer me a room the next day but it’s a little too late then.

Staff members made our stay very comfortable and we will surely come back again. Room was nice. bed comfortable.

We are not the ones to complain, but we were not happy with the first room we got, since small balcony and poor view. We complained and got the better room after two days.

The property was very good, cozy, well maintained, near to the city centre and to the beach.

Room was very small, literally no space for luggages. It was also dirty, same as a towels. I would recommend the hotel to change they towels, cause they not new anymore.

Rooms were small and did not feel nearly as good as the photos suggest. One of our 2 rooms was dirty and smelt of mold and the door did not lock and had a broken handle.

Water from the sink was coming on the floor of the bathroom, all flooded. In the morning there was no hot water in the shower. No proper blankets even in october when night is cold. Very noisy like there is no soundproof at all.

Room 604 is private enough. Our roomkeeper (cleaning lady) was very nice. Beach is close to hotel.

Internet is very bad. Almost unusable, and only in restaurant which is anoying. But biggest minus is breakfast. Same every day, no sausages or pancakes, bread could be better.

Excellent location and lovely swimming pool. The room was basic but comfortable and the balcony was lovely.

The drain in shower is not clear, so after taking shower all the water stays on the floor of the bathroom . The bathroom at all needs renovation. Towels was very old, with a lot of scratches

The staff and location were brilliant. Rooms were clean and good size and had a nice view of the pool and mountain from the small balcony.

My only complaint was not having wifi in the room. It is very unusual for a hotel of this standard to not have this. At least wifi was available around pool area.

The location near the beach was its only redeeming quality.

I stayed at this hotel recently and I have mixed feelings about it. One positive aspect is that it is located near the beach, which was convenient. However, there were several issues with the room. It had a damp smell, and the air conditioner was not working. We had to buy batteries for the remote control ourselves. Additionally, the faucet in the bathroom was leaking. One major disappointment was the lack of service at the poolside bar. Despite a large number of people wanting to order cocktails, there was no bartender available for at least 30 minutes. Furthermore, the internet connection was only available near the pool and reception area. It felt like we were stuck in the year 2001.

It was a nice hotel, located near the beach and was clean with a decent breakfast included.

The wifi did not work in our room so used quite a bit of data and the bed was very springy and sunk in the middle.

We paid the same amount for 2 rooms, but got one big and one small. Upon asking them to change it, they said there was no availability. And it was precooked already, so I don’t understand why they didn’t give us same category rooms

Convenient location. Breakfast was pretty good and the fresh orange juice that was provided every morning was a big plus. The area is quiet and you can rest well at night, far away from the loud music.

We didn't receive the same room as we requested. The better looking rooms, by the pool, were most likely given to the package holiday tourists (e.g. Jet2 Holidays) that come to this hotel in large numbers. The room that we received was old, the walls looked dirty, the bedding was always stained even though it was changed daily. The worst bit was the awful sewage smell that was coming from the bathroom. Absolutely disgusting. Also, there is no wifi in the room and the quality of the connection in the shared areas is abysmal... basically you cannot use the internet at all during your stay. I wouldn't come back for sure.

Clean rooms, nice pool and the food was reasonable

Breakfast advertised as included but charged extra for eggs or pancakes. Music by the pool was VULGAR especially with young children around, despite complaints it continued daily. We were overcharged on our final bill for multiples of dinners we didn't have and as we were in a rush for our check-out we just paid without checking. Pool rules state no reservation of sun loungers with towels but it wasn't monitored so loungers had towels on from 3am, ridiculous when people wouldn't show up until 3pm. Poorly managed hotel with superb bar and cleaning staff. Receptionist spent the time admiring herself in the mirror but no proper engagement with guests. We wouldn't go back.

Cleaning in bedrooms was first class and the food for lunch etc was lovely.

Terrible wifi, bar staff seem uninterested, lazy and bored. Area around the pool was dirty on a few occasions, sunbeds not cleaned nightly and the pool turned green a few times. Second time back here but unfortunately will probably look elsewhere next time unless they sort wifi and cleanliness issues out.

People putting towels on sunbeds early in the morning then going on a boat trip or to the market. They then return to them at around 4pm! It's so annoying! There should be some system in place to stop this. One guy said he set his alarm for 5-30am to secure his bed. My message to him is 'you're on holiday mate'!
