Alexandra Motor Lodge NZ

Very friendly staff, good central location

Friendly hosts, comfortable warm rooms with all the facilities I needed. I’d stay here again in a flash. 10 out of 10 for everything, except the dog. She deserves 11 out of 10.

Location

Communication with owners was great. Upgraded due to wifi issues in other unit. Great experience.

Whilst the motor lodge may be 30yrs old the rooms are clean and comfortable with great value for money as a result. We were really impressed with the location and how quiet it was that we stayed an extra night. Highly recommended.

The bed was very comfortable, the shower was great and the location was excellent.

Location great extremely clean as older motels

Nothing

Great location and very friendly staff

Location and friendly staff. Clean rooms

Great comfortable and clean accommodation. Friendly staff. Good location.

The location is handy

The room was big but wow, it was straight out of the 90's. I don't think a thing has been uodated for 30 years. The price was higher than more modern, up to date motels in the area.

Tv couldn't get it to work

Great location

The front door had a draft which would be easily fixed.

Spacious and very clean. Large bed and great shower

A bit dated but perfectly functional

Friendly and obliging owners, they upgraded us at no cost into a two room unit. This was spacious and warm. The property is old and shows it in the decor.

The location is on the main road and traffic noise was an issue. No double glazing so noisy. Close to the fire station and this was an early wake one morning!!

Location is perfect, owners are amazing! Everything available for a short stay. 10/10!

Roomy and well located next to a supermarket on the main road

drive in access is tight and a bit narrow

Friendly staff. Location is central.

Noisy at night ...but it is in middle of town. Carpet was not clean but everything else was

Got everything that you need.

Wifi is very poor.

The facility is an older but has been tastefully renovated and updated and was very comfortable. The kitchen allowed self-catering which we prefer. The second bedroom was a bonus and allowed us to manage our wardrobe easily. The beds were comfortable, the linen and towels were clean and the water was hot. The staff were welcoming and friendly and check-in was easy. Overall, it was a very pleasant and satisfying experience.

Nothing comes to mind. Overall, we were very satisfied.

Loved the location, staff were lovely, rooms were tidy and comfortable and loved the kids area!

Only complaint was that under the couch cushions hadn't been cleaned for a while. Only noticed because my son had flipped a cushion off while playing.

So handy to everything

Nothing

Although a quick stay it was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful

Two bedroom room, great location with all amenities near by like laundry supermarket and cafe/food outlets

Nothing

It was very clean, comfortable and lose to town,

It was old style, so spacious but done up so all mod cons. Ground floor, good parking.

Being Main Street a bit noisy early night but settled

I stayed 4 nights here, grateful to the owners for being able to juggle my original 2 night booking to 4 nights. First impressions always go a long way. Reception sealed that impression - very friendly and helpful. The motel is probably an older establishment, but that adds to the character. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable, making for a good nights sleep. Located on the main shopping street, everything is only a few minutes walk - right into centre of town, is less than 10 minutes walk. As others have said, right next door to a supermarket, 1 minute walk to a Chinese restaurant and takeaway, plus more restaurants are close by. I will definately use this motel again. Thank you Jo.

Great location right in town, but still quiet.

Cheery greeting and nice rooms. Not flash but clean and comfortable. Great value for money. What more needs to be said?!

We have spent twice as much per nght at other motels with no greater satisfaction

Close to restaurants and the pool

Not much

Good communication from staff

The motel is set in close proximity to restaurants and shops so very easy to walk to. We needed to come and stay a day earlier and Johanna the owner of the Motel really went out of her way to help us at an extremely busy time. Her and her husband are very welcoming and the property is such a lovely set up. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Room was clean, comfortable and warm. Bathroom was nicely updated. Staff were pleasant on the brief interaction we had.

Very minor, low cold water pressure. Hot water/shower was perfect

Wifi was average. But thats not uncommon

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was ideal for us. Was helpful to have council rubbish bins nearby to take excess rubbish. Unit was very clean and tidy.

First class. Modernised unit with a great air conditioner / heatpump, central location, and excellent hosts. Highly recommended.

Centraly located

It's great next door to supermarket and foods shops just up the road

Staff excellent.

Location was great Staff are lovely Unit had everything we needed

The unit was well appointed and had been recently updated with a new kitchen and bathroom. Had everything we needed

The WiFi could be better

Great location, owners are lovely.

The hot water in the sink wasn't great but we just boiled the jug so not the end of the world.

Stayed here for a night, room looked like the bed had been made but the benches and surfaces hadn't been cleaned, some parts of the walls were dirty. Have stayed in many hotels / motels throughout nz and this was definitely my worst stay, the individual in the office was extremely rude, and I had a very uncomfortable stay, im very certain one of the workers or owners went into my room while I was gone and looked around, even thought the door was locked, things were moved around. I can confidently stay there is no respect for privacy and as a solo female traveler i would recommend to steer clear of this place.

It is really quite town but you got everything you need.

Great location, comfy beds, spacious rooms, lots of parking, and an awesome shower! Booked last minute on a roadtrip and the owners were flexible with the check-in time. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Such a fantastic central location where everything you need is within walking distance as well as a well stocked supermarket right next door.

Only dislike and being very picky here, was the tight car parking but still really a very small issue for me.

Very central The unit was roomy considering it was only a studio room.

Space to store the bikes safely. Nice and tidy. Friendly staff. Next door to the supermarket.

Had a lovely stay here. Good sized rooms and well appointed. The building is a little dated but the unit I stayed in was nicely renovated and the hosts had thought of everything you may need. Good bathroom hooks and lighting etc. Location was great, next to the supermarket. Friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Bonus of on site bike hire.

Great location to walk to the town and restaurant and bars

Staff were amazing so helpful and friendly

Friendly hosts, nice bathroom.

Spacious and central

Very nice and comfortable.

All good.

It was an excellent location, room was clean and tidy, bathroom was perfect - great shower which is always important.

Mattress was not the comfiest. Perhaps invest in better quality or just newer mattresses

Friendly staff. Good location away from craziness of Queenstown

Older but very caring owners

The location was close to the supermarket which we used often for our stay and the takeaways. The kitchen was good too easy to use and functional.

We didn't find anything that didn't satisfy us. The room is a bit outdated but it still suited the purpose we were after and that being roof over our head whilst visiting whanau.
