Craggy Range Luxury Vineyard Retreat

The Villa and the location were absolutely superb. Excellent and very helpful staff.

The location is truly beautiful but the holiday was made so much better by the friendliness of the staff and the excellence of the river lodge and the restaurant. If anyone wants to experience true NZ hospitality I would say this is the place to be it is exceptional and we will be coming back in the future.

Coffee drinkers are accommodated but tea drinkers get tea bag not leaf tea.

Peaceful retreat. Easy to relax except when mower was going!!!

Given that it is a continental breakfast and it is isolated, from a restaurant setting with lots of choice it can t have as much choice as a general buffet, the range of stuff provide was quite good although a bit more choice of bread would be nice. As a marmalade fan the marmalade was outstanding

Our one and only dislike is that we are not fans of plunger coffee we would much prefer Nespresso pods which every other top hotel now provides

Luxurious, not pretentious. Accommodation beautiful, staff amazing and knowledgable! Shame the Loft wasn’t open on our stay, not sure why. Other than that could not fault it!

The service was top-notch! The staff really went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect. I felt like I was in my dream house. The wine tasting was fantastic—it was both fun and educational. And the restaurant dining was just wonderful.

The property is absolutely stunning — beautifully maintained grounds, peaceful surroundings, and a luxurious feel throughout. The accommodation was spotless, spacious, and well-appointed, and the location made the whole stay feel relaxing and special. Staff were friendly and the overall experience felt very premium

The only downside was the pillows. They were extremely soft and uncomfortable, and even after requesting firmer pillows, the replacements were still far too soft. It made sleeping difficult and definitely impacted the comfort of our stay.

Loved it ! Wonderfully comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, thought the reading books were fantastic. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

We absolutely loved our stay at Craggy Range.

Beautiful setting for a very comfortable villa stay. We loved the breakfast provisions, the log fire, the under floor bathroom heating, the lovely big bed and the complimentary wine made this a real treat. We also loved looking through the kitchen garden and walking around the site. Thank you

An option to change up breakfast a little eg have have a dozen eggs to cook for breakfast and some fresh fruit

Stunning location, well kept grounds. Beautiful, spacious cottage we stayed in. Continental breakfast supplied in the room. Complimentary wine tasting included. Had a meal in the restaurant, great food and wine.

Perhaps a little overpriced. Full breakfast in the restaurant would have been nice

We stayed in one of the cottages in the grounds of the cellar door/restaurant complex. It was just beautiful - very comfortable and well appointed. We loved everything about it, apart from the breakfast provisions. (See explanation below.)

The breakfast provisions were included in our rate, and these were supposed to be changed each day. Well, they were replenished but it was the same each day! The ‘home made granola’ turned out to be corn flakes - hardly 5 star food! But the bread and artisanal marmalade were very nice.

Location in the vines was beautiful. Vine tasting was an added bonus and having an excellent restaurant on site was great as well. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Definitely would recommend

The Craggy Range Luxury Vineyard Retreat was Exceptional ..our flight from USA was cancelled, our baggage lost and the lady of the reception done everything to help us and offer us a welcome drink at the restaurant. The view was amazing , the breakfast was so healthy with fresh produce, excellent coffee .. all amenities that you could imagine. Room was so comfortable , clean and quiet .. Top of the top.. lovely terrace. We strongly suggest to have lunch or dinner at their restaurant. We could not expect more and will come back

Beautiful vineyards and the te mata peak make this place so special. Loved the cellar door tasting and the restaurant too! Staffs are friendly and professional. I’d like to come back with my wine-craving friends some day.

Bit far from city center so you need a car.

Spacious cottage with everything needed except a decent breakfast. We tried many different wines. Some were good others not our taste.

The cottage was wonderfully private and had all the amenities we needed. The breakfast selections were delicious and were right in line with what we needed to start the day. Waking up to see Te Mats peak right outside the window was an added bonus

We loved the beautiful freshly home made bread each morning for breakfast which was made with locally organic produce. Also the homemade museli. The beds were super comfy!!! The wine tasting with tasting patter was a highlight the women at the winery were so passionate about talking about the award winning international wines that Craggy Range make. They did a outstanding job of making us feel welcome & showcasing Craggy Range vineyard and wines! The food at the restaurant was outstanding. We will be back to experience Craggy Range again. Fire place was smoking out our room for some reason so disappointed we couldn't have the fire going in evening when we returned from restaurant

The cottage we stayed in was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom quite large with heated floor, a small fireplace in the lounge and the refrigerator stocked with a fabulous breakfast along with other niceties such as tea and coffee along with several bottles of their wine should you want to stay in and relax. We had dinner at their restaurant where the service and the food was excellent. My only comment is that they do not make it clear where to check in. Definitely will go back again.

Cannot say enough about this property. It was sparkling clean. Restaurant superb , hated to leave. Located by several wineries, and a town full of good restaurants.

Absolutely beautiful! What a beautiful Vineyard! So manicured and tidy! Beautiful meal in the restaurant, and two bedroom unit perfect! Definitely recommend this place!

We felt so relaxed the minute we walked into the cottage. Plenty of space and everything you could possibly need. Each bedroom had a bathroom and doors opening out onto a deck with outdoor furniture. Added bonus of delicious and filling breakfast

Everything was excellent and there is nothing we could complain about. Craggy Range makes it difficult to stay anywhere else after the great level of service and the great accommodation provided. We will be coming back again.

Loved the shower and couch and fire. Only downside was the flies and light switch behind beds.

A really lovely unit, hope to be back one day. Nice setting, a real shame we couldn't use the walking track.

We stayed in a private 2 bedroom cottage in the vineyards. It was modern, elegant and bright, with good amenities including washer and dryer. Continental breakfast was provided in our kitchenette and a brief wine-tasting was included. “Terroir” is their fine dining restaurant on site, and we enjoyed an elegant dinner there. Excellent Pinot Noir wine.

This stay was the most enjoyable stay during our 3 week trip to both islands. The people could not have been nicer and the Charandonnay Cottage was wonderful. We have bought two cases of their wine after returning to the US. We highly recommend the experience.

Room was lovely. Can imagine very snug in winter and was beautiful in the warm sunshine we had.

Our stay at the Craggy Range Pinot Noir cottage was amazing. The cottage is located in the vineyard itself so for people like us who are passionate about wine we were thrilled with the very comfortable cottage. It was easy for us to stroll around the vineyard and explore the gardens and also visit the Craggy Range Terroir restaurant sampling high quality food and wine. The staff were friendly and informative. We really enjoyed our stay it was luxurious and we loved it. We will be back again for a relaxing holiday and wine experience next year.

Beautiful cottage, super clean with great small touches such as breakfast provisions which are replenished daily. Stunning location, restaurant and wine tasting only a few meters from your door what more could you ask for?

The Sauvignon Blanc Cottage was perfect for the 3 of us with two bedrooms comprising of super comfy beds, an open fire and well appointed kitchen. The views of the vineyard and the Craggy Range completed the experience. Will definitely revisit when next in New Zealand.
