La struttura molto bella e mantenuta nella sua autenticità di ex monastero. Ottima la colazione. Soggiorno tranquillo anche perché era quasi vuoto.

La zona un po decentrata e con poca ristorazione di qualità, anche media, nelle vicinanze. Reception freddo e poco presente nel corso del soggiorno. Fastidioso episodio al giorno del check out: dovevano ricevere degli ospiti di un matrimonio, preparativi con notevole franbusto, senza considerci minimamente! Peccato questo episodio ha "macchiato" il ns soggiorno.

Sehr freundliches Personal,tolles Gebäude mit großem Pool, leckeres Frühstück mit frisch gepresstem Orangensaft. Das Gebäude ist wunderbar auch wenn die Zimmer keine Balkone haben kann man auf verschiedenen Terrassen ungestört sitzen und den Sonnenuntergang genießen.Die Lage ist super um von dort die gesamte Insel zu erkunden.

Unser Zimmer war in einem Seitentrakt zur Straße gelegen daher leider etwas laut. Man sollte möglichst ein Zimmer im Haupthaus bekommen.

Struttura storica affascinante e con un restauro conservativo attento. Bella atmosfera e buonissima colazione con prodotti locali dolci e salati serviti in un ambiente curato nei dettagli. Gradevole anche la possibilità di fare un bagno rinfrescante nella piscina del giardino.

Stanze belle. Unico miglioramento qualche luce in più per illuminare maggiormente la stanza e qualche appoggio in più in bagno.

We missed couple of hangers or something similar for wet towels and swimsuits after beach day.

Wir waren für 4 Nächte dort und es hat unsere Erwartungen absolut übertroffen. Wir konnten erst spät im Hotel eintreffen und es ging reibungslos, auch am morgen wurden wir direkt herzlich empfangen und zum Frühstück gebracht. Was wundervoll angerichtet war und viel zur Auswahl hatte. Es ist wie eine Burg aber sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und hat auch aufenthaltsorte es fühlte sich an als konnte man ein wenig dieses portugiesischen Charme mitnehmen. Der Pool war ebenfalls sehr sauber. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder gehen und es auch weiter empfehlen.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Convento. My husband and I travelled from Ottawa with my 89 year old mother. She was able to manage the stairs easily. The ambiance and character of this old yet beautifully renovated convento added so much to the experience. The pool was lovely, the staff were fantastic and the breakfast food was delicious. We absolutely loved every minute of our 7 night stay. Make sure to ask for the tour of the building. You will see the state it was in after a devastating fire. The owners and town raised money to save the buildings and restore it to its original condition. We whole heartedly recommend this boutique hotel!

Merveilleux endroit. Relaxation garantie. Il n'y a pas de lieu plus accueillant et plus paisible au Portugal. Le déjeuner avec des produits locaux est le meilleur de Sao Miguel. La restauration de l'edifice est impeccable. Expérience incroyable. À deux pas de tout. Profitez de la crème glacée du parc près des églises en soirée pour une expérience locale. Le café et les gâteaux disponibles toute la journée. Meilleur endroit de Sao Miguel.

Internet pouvait être parfois difficile. L'histoire du couvent pourrait être mieux décrite pour les férus d'histoire.

A hidden gem, no less. A beautifully kept historical building, not spoiled with any kitschy faux-luxury items so often encountered in other places of this kind (gilded faucets, ugly lamps, artificial flowers etc.); just raw stone, spacious halls, cozy nooks and crannies - really smartly arranged space. Tea, coffee, cake and fruit available 24/7 in the breakfast room. Lovely vegetarian breakfast from quality products (is it the same every day? Yes, but boy is it good). The homegrown pineapple is to die for. The economy room in the side wing was good value for money, with a very comfy bed (yes, you can hear your neigbours as they pass the hall, but as there are only three rooms on this floor, this really isn't an issue). I was worried that wifi might be patchy, with those thick stone walls, but it was perfectly reliable. Nice pool and garden, a very convenient location; overall: just perfect. Ah, and the host - great vibes.

Ein ganz besonderer Ort! Kühl, ruhig mit einer wunderbaren, klösterlichen Atmosphäre. Ein wunderbarer Rückzugsort zum erholen und genießen. Das Frühstück war herrlich, der Yogaraum ein Traum. Das Personal sehr freundlich, immer frische Handtücher.

Wir hatten nichts auszusetzen.

Calme et très reposant complètement hors du temps ! Déjeuner généreux et abondant, le Couvent est un véritable musée où il fait bon de circuler lors du séjour. La piscine est agréable ainsi que le jardin attenant. Chambre inoubliable et unique décoré avec soins et antiquités

Das Kloster wurde wundervoll mit viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert. Die Gastgeberin war extrem bemüht und hat uns nach der Anreise gleich eine Führung gegeben. Die Ruhe innerhalb des Klosters und des Hofes ist toll. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, es war alles extrem sauber und man hat sich wohl gefühlt. Ich würde 10 Sterne geben, leider hatten wir Pech mit unserem Zimmer, siehe unten.

Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer, welches direkt an einer stark befahrenen Straße lag. Trotz Ohropax konnten wir leider nicht gut schlafen. Empfehlenswert wäre noch ein Sichtschutz für das Fenster im Badezimmer. Ich würde die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen, nur unbedingt ein Zimmer zum Innenhof nehmen.

Magnifique bâtiment, ancien couvent rénové, très grande chambre avec vue mer, parquet ancien et calme absolu. Accès à toutes les dépendances, cloitre, jardin, terrasses , grande piscine, plusieurs salons rythment les vastes couloirs… Petit dejeuner incroyable et hôtes très sympathiques!

The people were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful! The setting was a mix of history and wonderful accommodations. Would stay again!

Spezielle Athmosphäre im historischen Gebäude. Nette Besitzerin, super leckeres, frisches Frühstück - bestes Brot der Insel :-)

De kamer lag in een schitterend gerenoveerd klooster, met zwembad waarin je heerlijk kon afkoelen. Er werd een voortreffelijk ontbijt geserveerd en het beheerders echtpaar was uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

In de kamer misten we een plek om beide koffers op neer te kunnen leggen.

Ubicado en un antiguo convento rehabilitado, mantiene todo su encanto original con muebles antiguos y espacios cuidados con mucho mimo. El personal atentísimo y muy agradable, especialmente Manuela. Desayuno bueno, variado, con productos locales y caseros (la piña buenísima). Jardín y piscina muy buena. Ideal para conocer el centro y este de la isla y aprovechar para tener unos momentos de desconexión en sus muchas zonas comunes.

No es accesible ni hay ascensores. Nos alojamos en una "habitación económica" y la pared con la contigua era de pladur y se escuchaba todo. También falta iluminación y algún enchufe más cerca de la cama.

Lieu d'exception plein d'Histoire ! Un autre monde. Le couvent a été transformé en hôtel très accueillant avec de grands espaces communs pour se détendre, lire, écouter de la musique adéquat au lieu. Le petit-déjeuner est délicieux et varié. La gérante est très sympathique et gentille, plein de petites attentions. Une belle et grande piscine dans un jardin verdoyant. La situation géographique est top, près du centre et quand-même au calme. On peut facilement se déplacer à pied.

The manager is very nice and friendly, we got checked in at 9am, then she made a tour of the building for us, was always ready to help, we loved her. The building itself has the greate atmosphere and fancy interior. We absolutely loved our bed, it was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was tasty, with local food, although it could be more various. The location is perfect, 6 minutes by car to the beach

I'm lying here trying to take a nap but sweating too much to sleep. Why? THIS PLACE HAS NO AIR CONDITIONING! IN A HUMID WARM ENVIRONMENT SOME PEOPLE ESPECIALLY WITH ALLERGIES NEED AIR CON. I can't believe over 100 reviews and i found only 1 reviewer who slightly mentioned this key problem. The rest of you did not cover all the bases. And one more missing piece: This is NOT a boutique hotel. It's a nice unique b&b that's showing wear in a few spots like the bathroom. Tripadvisor people really messed up the advice on this one.

Schlechte Beleuchtung am Bett und im Badezimmer. Es wäre günstig, wenn man im Bad mehr Halter für Handtücher und Kulturbeutel hätte.

Il posto è molto piacevole, un convento trasformato in B&B, senza stravolgimenti architettonici. Appena si varca il portone si respira quiete e ci si rilassa. La nostra camera era ampia e spaziosa, così come il bagno. Non avevamo a disposizione nè frigo nè cassaforte, ma se ne può fare tranquillamente a meno. I letti sono comodi e la nostra camera era fronte mare, e fronte piscina. La colazione era fantastica: formaggio dell'isola, yogurt , torte caserecce molto buone, frutta locale, pane e marmellate varie. Il personale gentile e disponibile. Consigliato a chi cerca tranquillità. Ci sono anche un paio di salotti arredati con gusto e due terrazzi con poltrone per poter leggere e rilassarsi.

El alojamiento es un antiguo convento con mucho encanto, tanto la habitación como las zonas comunes y los jardines son muy bonitos, y además hay piscina. El desayuno es muy completo y está todo delicioso. El personal se mostró muy amable.

Se echa en falta algún enchufe más en la habitación y alguna percha o estantería en el baño. No está demasiado céntrico.

Ik was met een vriendin op reis, we logeerden hier 13 nachten. Zeer leuk verblijf, het oude klooster is groot, mooi, rustig. Er zijn allerlei balkonnetjes en zithoekjes waar het zalig vertoeven is. Je hebt een mooi uitzicht vanaf het balkon. We genoten ook enkele keren van het grote zwembad en de ligstoelen errond, ook daar was het steeds erg rustig. Er is een hond op het domein maar die is ook zo rustig en lief. Het ontbijt was goed verzorgd. Onze kamer werd dagelijks schoongemaakt en we kregen verse handdoeken wanneer we dat maar wouden. We hadden een ruime kamer. Er was een goede douche, lekker warm water met stevige straal. Wifi werkte uitstekend. We konden steeds voor de deur parkeren. Er is een hele grote supermarkt vlakbij het hotel. Erg handig. We konden een frigo en diepvries gebruiken. Wij gingen heel vaak eten in Mercardo da Vila (daar serveren ze Italiaanse ,Mexicaanse en Azoorse keuken), dit is op wandelafstand van het klooster. Wij vonden Vila Franca do Campo een ideale uitvalsbasis om het eiland te verkennen.

Wat wij jammer vonden, is dat wanneer je als laatste gaat ontbijten, de lekkere ananas vaak al op was en deze werd niet meer bijgevuld.

The property is perfectly located for exploring the island. Our stay was fantastic, immersed in an almost mystical atmosphere, elegant and full of charm. I really appreciated the sustainable approach and the delicious zero-kilometre breakfast. Highly recommended!

The accommodation was superb! We stayed for five nights and would more than gladly recommend it to anyone. It’s located in a beautifully renovated monastery-style building. The whole place is spacious, and you can explore everywhere freely. There are multiple balconies where you can relax, and you can even climb up to the roof to enjoy the nice views. The room we stayed in was spacious and had everything we needed. Hand towels, shower towels, and even pool towels were provided and changed daily. Breakfast was included and featured delicious local vegetarian dishes. There were also homegrown bananas and pineapples that were incredibly sweet and delicious. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Overall, this is an amazing place to stay — absolutely worth it!

Notre chambre était sombre avec peu de rangement et notre bâtiment donnait du côté de la rue proche d’une station service Le gérant nous a précisé que nous avions réservé une chambre économique par Booking donc nous avons eu une chambre côté rue !

Un espectáculo de hotel, al principio viendo las fotos de la reserva parecía un lugar lúgubre y nos daba un poco de mal rollo lo de dormir en un convento de monjes, pero la verdad que esta muy logrado, la habitación era increíble, la cama bastante cómoda con sábanas super suaves, baño equipado y toallas muy acolchadas. Hay muchísimas estancias comunes llenas de butacones, sofás, hay tantos espacios que si quieres no te encuentras con ningún otro huésped. Piscina fabulosa, abierta 24h del día! Con muchas tumbonas cómodas, todo muy limpio. Jardín gigante y bien cuidado, tenían un perro y un gato que nos hacían compañía, muy casero. La dueña una señora majísima que siempre estaba ahí para ti. El desayuno ESPECTACULAR, hemos leído comentarios negativos de si es monótono o faltan cosas, no nos lo parece para nada, es tan extenso que cada día puedes desayunar cosas diferentes. 4 variedades de mermeladas, queso, granola, leche vegetal de dos tipos! Café recién hecho, zumo de naranja NATURAL, bizcocho casero, piña, de todo, a nosotros nos encantó. Muy buena zona a 5 minutos andando a la plaza principal, parking gratuito de fácil acceso. Vistas espectaculares desde la torre del convento

Por ponerle alguna pega diríamos que falta luminosidad en general tanto habitación como zonas comunes

We had a wonderful time here and wished we would've stayed longer. Having preserved so much of the former convent's spaces and furniture, the atmosphere has a relaxing effect that can't be overstated. Whether we lounged by the pool, or sat reading by the fountain courtyard, the austere charm of this place was a much welcome break. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. The breakfast was excellent and featured among other delicacies, sliced pineapples from their own on-site plantation, which felt like an amazing luxury.

Parking was a little challenging being just off the road at busy roundabout.

L'hôtel, ancien couvent est un lieu magnifique, et atypique avec son cloitre ses serres pour ananas. Vue magnifique des terrasses et de la tour. Chambres et lits confortables. Très bien placé pour itinérer.

Nous avions les chambres côté rue donc un peu bruyantes. Le petit déjeuner si vous restez plusieurs jours, manque de diversité, mais à part ça très bien.Nous aurions aimé que les hôtes que nous ne voyions pas souvent, nous proposent une visite des serres à ananas, ce qui est dommage.
