Beautiful spot right on the beach, devine swimming in calm seas. Fabulous restaurant, beach toys for the kids. Jane picked us up in a nice spacious SUV from the airport and was lovely to chat with. Easy check in and the fan bungalows were all we needed, right in the sand a few steps from the beach where you can watch stunning sunrises. The restaurant was atmospheric with great food and views. I thought I'd lost my key and Jane was very patient and helpful sending some staff who were off site to help me. Sorry about that! 10 min walk to the Maenam tourist street along the beach or the road. Close to the Pralarn Pier handy for tx to Koh Phangan. Highly recommend if you prefer a quieter area. Bonus of a hot shower too which wasn't expected.

Wir hatten die einfachste Ausstattung der Bungalows gewählt und waren damit zufrieden. Das Zimmer war einfach eingerichtet und sauber. Ich habe mich in der Anlage sehr wohl gefühlt und man hat Zugang zum schönsten Strandabschnitt in Maenam.

Ich liebe diesen Strand und das moonhut Restaurant und Bar. zum Frühstück, zum zwischendurch-snacken oder zum Abendessen, es schmeckt immer toll. Die Bungalows sind einfach, aber es ist schön Abends auf seiner veranda zu sitzen und dem meer zu lauschen. ich komme wieder.

Eine wunderschöne und außergewöhnlich gepflegte Anlage. Die Bungalows stehen leicht versetzt zwischen viel Grün und sind ein wenig in den Dschungel hineingebaut. Dadurch liegen sie angenehm im Schatten und heizen sich nicht so stark auf. Besonders am Abend ist die Anlage mit ihrer indirekten Beleuchtung wirklich wunderschön. Vorne am Strand gibt es eine Bar und ein Restaurant mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und bietet sowohl thailändische als auch westliche Gerichte. Dadurch findet sich für unterschiedliche Geschmäcker eine gute Auswahl. Auch das Essen selbst war sehr gut. Koh Samui ist inzwischen sehr stark touristisch erschlossen und hat durch die große Hauptstraße viel von seinem früheren Charme verloren. Das sollte man wissen, wenn man auf die Insel reist. Moon Hut Bungalows fühlt sich dagegen noch wie ein kleiner Rückzugsort an, der ein wenig an das alte Thailand erinnert. Auch wenn es leider keine Bambusbungalows mehr sind, ist dieser besondere Charme erhalten geblieben. Eine so schöne und gepflegte Anlage habe ich in Thailand bisher nur selten erlebt. Der einzige Minuspunkt war für uns die sehr laute Musik im Restaurant. Beim Essen konnte man sich teilweise nur schwer unterhalten, und auch abends war der Bass in den vorderen Bungalows deutlich zu hören. Wir hatten einen Bungalow mit Klimaanlage. Ich würde allerdings einen günstigeren Bungalow ohne Klimaanlage weiter hinten in der zweiten Reihe empfehlen. Durch den vielen Schatten reicht das meiner Meinung nach völlig aus. Außerdem bekommt man dort wahrscheinlich deutlich weniger von der Musik und dem Bass mit. Abgesehen von der lauten Musik war unser Aufenthalt eine klare 10 von 10. Moon Hut Bungalows ist ein toller Ort, um nach einem langen Flug erst einmal in Thailand anzukommen, sich zwei Tage zu erholen und neue Energie zu sammeln. Anschließend kann man von hier aus weiterreisen und Thailand in alle Himmelsrichtungen entdecken.

Great location with the beach right at your door step, but it was a long walk if you wanted to go to any shops. Restaurant was very good.

My room didn't have aircon, this was my fault as i didn't notice when booking it that it didn't have aircon. They couldn't offer me an upgrade because they were booked out. It was impossible to sleep, I had booked 6 nights but only stayed/suffered through 2 nights. The bed was extremely hard and there was no mattress protector on it just a sheet. the thought of other people sweating on that mattress, not good!

Everything was perfect, location is the best for exploring the island. The shops are close and the restaurant had the best drinks and food. Overall, we had a really nice stay—the bungalows were clean and the staff was very friendly. However, having a mini-fridge and a kettle in the room would be a huge improvement. Also, reviews mentioned daily towel and sheet changes, but ours weren't changed once during our stay. Not sure if we had to ask, but usually that’s done automatically. Still a pleasant stay, just a couple of small things to improve!

Had a great time here, Jane was fantastic, she gave us a lift to the elephant sanctuary on her day off and hung around till we were finished to take us back

Klasse Aufenthalt! Wir waren als Familie mit 2 Kindern (14 & 7) und es war super! Zimmer (wir hatten einen Familienbungalow, also zwei Bungalows mit Verbingungstür) sauber und alles, was man braucht mit traumhafter Aussicht/Kulisse - vor allem am Abend. Oft auch Live-Musik im dazugehörigen Restaurant, die man auf der Terrasse genießen konnte. Sehr gute Gastgeberin die bei Fragen/Ausflügen/Roller etc. immer sehr hilfsbereit war und man direkt über sie buchen/mieten konnte. Der Strand ist perfekt für kleinere Kinder, da es sehr flach ins Wasser geht und die Wellen nicht so hoch sind. Sitzsäcke/Stühle genügend vorhanden und kostenfrei nutzbar - auch im Schatten. Die Unterkunft ist nur ein paar Laufminuten zum 7/11 und 10-15 Minuten zu einem echt schnuckeligen kleinen Markt (nur Essen) der abends öffnet und für jeden etwas zu finden ist (gegenüber Chinatown). An der Hauptstraße sind auch etliche Möglichkeiten zum Essen.

Au calme et posé sur la plage. Très grande plage avec mer calme. Belle vue sur l’île de Koh Phangan. Plage ombragée si besoin. Le restaurant de l’hôtel est bon mais les prix sont un peu plus élevés qu’ailleurs. Le bungalow était bien et bien équipé : clim, frigo avec bouteille d’eau quotidienne, four. Belle terrasse.

Nous étions dans le bungalow 1 sur la plage tout devant. Nous manquions un peu d’intimité avec beaucoup de passage devant et des personnes s’installant au pied du bungalow. Bungalow très chaud, clim peu efficace. La porte du bungalow ne fermait pas à clé. Et en plus était très difficile à faire coulisser. Nous avons payé un lit d’appoint pour notre fils : lit de camp très dur avec une vieille couverture dessus à la place d’une couette. C’est dans cet hôtel qu’il était le moins bien installé. Douche sans protection. On arrose toute la salle de bain. Plage et mer à la propreté moyenne. Nous avons trouvé plusieurs morceaux de verre.

I had Bungalow 1, right on the shore. Could not have been more happy. It was paradise. Having the restaurant only metres away as well was super convenient.

By no means a complaint, but the bed was a bit firm for my liking but I still slept comfortably and soundly.

Amazing location, not many people, nice restaurant and right on the beach. The water is amazing. Jane was incredibly helpful, even took us to the airport at 5am. We will absolutely come again.

Only issue was that our bungalow was right next to the restaurant which had music playing into the late evening. But that is a minor gripe and we were ok with it.

Bungalow eine Katastrophe: Spülung der Toilette geht nicht, man muss mit einer Abflusssauge jedes Mal nachsaugen - sehr unangenehm. Badezimmer sehr in die Jahre gekommen sowie der Bungalow insgesamt. Musik bis 23 Uhr abends, Bungalows sehr hellhörig.

Proste, wygodne bungalowy wyposażone w niezbędne przedmioty potrzebne do funkcjonowania. Wiatrak w zupełności wystarczał żeby spokojnie spać. Lodówka mogłaby być na podstawowym wyposażeniu. Jest dostępna za dopłatą. Aaa! I zamiast szklanek lepsze byłyby nietłukące się kubki ;)

Stunning location. Of all the beaches we've su far visited on the islands, the beach at Moonhut was the nicest in terms of the sand and sea. Although the huts are simple, this place represents very very good value for money, given its location right on such a beautiful beach. The place was so chilled and calm. We would definitely return.

Het extra 4e bed die je extra bij kan kopen is hard, een plank met dun matrasje.

Ganz klar: das Personal und die Lage. Traumhafter Strand, wunderschöne kleinere Anlage mit persönlichem und familiären Flair. Sowas gibt es nicht oft auf Samui! Lokale in allen Preisklassen sind in unmittelbarer Laufnähe, inkl. klasse Laundry um die Ecke. Motorrad ausleihen ebenfalls super und die Managerin macht ebenfalls alles möglich und ist supernett.

Kleine Lampe am Bett wäre schön, ist aber wirklich so gar nicht tragisch

Prachtige plek. Je ontwaakt aan het strand. De bar is geweldig. Ontbijt tot snacks tot avondmaal tot een drankje. De mensen zijn hemels. Love CoCo.

Dat we maar 6 dagen hadden geboekt. Volgend jaar langer!

Outdoor tables/loungers belonging to adjacent bar placed very close to the front of our bungalow. This obstructed our seaview and created a busy noisy environment. There were LOTS of children! The area felt more like an apartment complex than the peaceful beach hut escape we were looking for. Bathroom very basic and furniture had seen better days.

The Moonhut Bungalows were a perfect place for our family of 6 to stay. Jane was extremely kind and helpful, both with getting us from the ferry and sitting down with me to help plan our activities. The bungalows were cute and on a gorgeous beach that almost felt like our own. The water was super warm and we spent hours lounging in these bean bag chairs and swimming. It also had great beachfront restaurant and a really good vibe. Plus, it was a very short walk into town for anything else we wanted. It was fantastic value, and our whole family loved our time there.

Le cadre est sympa. Mais il n y a rien. Ils sont très désorganisés. Et l endroit est très isolé ( scooter obligatoire). À ne pas renouveler. Et pour 30€ par nuit, c est cher pour ce que c est.

We had the most amazing time at Moonhut Bungalows, couldn't have wished for anything more. The family bungalow was perfect, with it effectively being 2 adjoining bungalows there were 2 bathrooms between the 4 of us and plenty of space. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and water etc, there was a kettle and large fridge also. The onsite restaurant was delicious, we loved started each day eating banana pancakes looking out over that beautiful beach. There were other restaurants along the beach that were also lovely, the next one along lent out SUP boards if you bought drinks or food there - the guy there was so lovely. Also have the options of 7/11 up on the main road for bits and toasted sarnies etc for a cheap eat. Mae Nam is a quieter more laid back beach on Koh Samui, we took a taxi over to the busier areas which were great to spend some time in and then head back to our slice of paradise. Also highly recommend hiring a driver for a few hours to go on a drive around the island, we used Mr Pi who charged 500baht an hour. He took us all around the island, make sure to travel up to a high point on the island - well worth the drive up for the spectacular views. But mainly, all you need to do here is relax and savour every single second, it will forever be a special place for us and our kids and we hope to return one day!

I can't recommend Moonhut Bungalows enough. We stayed in the family bungalow, which was fresh and perfect for our family of 4 but could easily fit a larger family. The beach is beautifully calm, starts shallow for kids and goes a deeper further on for swimmers. The restaurant has a huge selection (including great Thai food - we stayed a week and we didn't feel the need to go anywhere else). Great selection of board games to be played in the beachfront tent table, or in the evenings, and there's a pool table as well. Plenty of beach yous for the kids (our little ones are 2 and 4.5) The best thing was the staff, they are fun and friendly and the kids absolutely loved them - this includes KitKat the most patient cat in the world, but especially CoCo and Honey who managed to get a smile out of the kids even when they were hungry or tired! Jen is also extremely helpful and prompt in answering, and helped us book a super nice ethical elephant sanctuary tour and with transport. The location is also great, far enough from the main street that it feels secluded and there's plenty of birds to be heard and seen, but shops and restaurants are in walking distance (and a pram can go on the road). Great 2nd hand clothes shop nearby as well if you have packed light!

Reservamos un bungalow sin aire acondicionado, y el alojamiento se adecuó a nuestras expectativas. La habitación era razonablemente cómoda por el precio que pagamos, y, para no tener aire acondicionado, no pasamos excesivo calor y no había ningún mosquito en la habitación. Estaba todo muy limpio y la experiencia de quedarse en la arena a unos metros de la orilla es muy especial.

El servicio que recibimos por parte del personal del establecimiento, aunque no malo, fue de los peores de todo el viaje que hicimos por Tailandia. A diferencia de en otros alojamientos, no nos informaron con detalles sobre excursiones o actividades que podíamos realizar por la isla cuando preguntamos. Pedimos que nos reservaran un tour para ir al parque nacional en barco, y nos cobraron muchísimo más de lo que pagó la gente con la que hicimos dicho tour. Recomendaríamos a futuros viajeros reservar las excursiones por su cuenta, y no directamente desde el alojamiento. Además, la wifi no funcionaba muy bien, y los colchones eran un poco duros.

Der var cikader der larmede på et helt ekstremt højt niveau jeg aldrig har oplevet før, hele natten. Det var umuligt at sove i på trods af ørepropper. Sengene var stenhårde og også puderne. Der var ikke noget køleskab til vand, og vi havde et værelse med ventilator, så det hele blev meget varmt. Restauranten der er tilknyttet stedet havde vi håbet at bruge en masse, da der ikke ligger så meget andet lige om hjørnet, men vi synes at det var nogle høje priser og en ikke så god kvalitet. Stranden var meget fin, men vi besøgte nogle smukkere strande andre steder på øen.

Lovely rustic beach huts alongside the beach. Very natural and relaxed. Loved the veranda. Property cleaned daily. Tea/coffee facilities plus a fridge with water topped up daily. Choice of air con or fan. Perfect.

Nothing to dislike for us. Fixtures and fittings not fancy, possibly in need of a refurbishment but it is as described and suited us perfectly. Use of single use plastic water bottles a shame.

Świetna lokalizacja, przy samej plaży, ale też sklepów czy knajp. Domek czysty, miał wszystko, czego trzeba do wygodnego pobytu. Cudowne masaże. Plaża czysta, dostępne leżaki, huśtawka i parasole. Obsługa miła, pomocna.

Koło naszego domku trwały prace budowlane, ale nie były w ogóle uciążliwe.

Die Lage der Unterkunft war etwas abseits vom Geschehen. Außerdem hat mir ein Abzieher im Badezimmer gefehlt.

Gemütlichr ruhiger Abschnitt mit leckerem Essen und sehr freundlichem Personal. Man läuft immer Barfuss auf Sand, hat Schatten und es ist nicht zu überlaufen.

Right on the beach with a nice restaurant. The single fan did an ok job of keeping the air circulating making sleeping possible.

The notion of a romantic, beachfront chalet is ruined by the old shacks which the staff tried hard to make clean and comfortable. The electrics are dangerously exposed. WiFi is sketchy away from the restaurant.

We had a fantastic stay at Moonhut Bungalow in Samui. Our budget beach hut was lovely—simple, comfortable, and just steps from a beautiful, quiet stretch of beach. The location was perfect: peaceful but still within a short beach walk to other great bars and restaurants. A special thank you to Jane, who was an amazing host from start to finish. She went above and beyond to help us with everything during our stay. She arranged excursions for us at prices cheaper than booking online, organised taxis to and from the hotel, helped us book the boat to our next island, and sorted motorbike hire while we were there. It made the whole trip so much easier. What really stood out was how helpful and available she was—throughout our stay she was always at the end of the phone if we needed anything. That level of care and hospitality really made a difference. The restaurant was also lovely, and the beach was quiet and beautiful. Overall we couldn’t have asked for more and would definitely recommend staying here.

For a budget hotel, there is nothing we didn’t like.

O chuveiro nao tinha divisória principalmente no chão, ficando literalmente o chão da casa de banho tipo piscina municipal. E o manípulo do chuveiro não funcionava nada bem.

We had a lovely stay here in family bungalow for 8 nights. The bungalow was right on the beach and walking distance to the shops and 7-11. The restaurant on site has lots of food options and there are a few other nice places on the beach if you are looking for variety. The room also had a TV with Netflix which was a nice addition to put on a movie in the evenings.

The beach is very quiet which suited us but may not suit if you are looking for more lively resort.

Le petit déjeuner était parfait.. à la carte ! L'emplacement du Resort est sur le sable devant la plage. L'eau de la mer sans vague, turquoise,et délicieusement chaude !

Douche dans salle de bain avec évacuation mal construite. Trop peu de serviettes a disposition ! Service restaurant trop lent et mal organisé ! Mais un personnel adorable, avec un sourire en toute circonstance !

Der Aufenthalt war richtig angenehm. Jane (die Managerin) hat sich sehr gut um uns gekümmert. Sie hat uns günstig vom Flughafen abgeholt und auch wieder hingebracht. Tagesausflüge hat auch sie gebucht und einen Transport organisiert. Also man hat sich rundum wohl gefühlt und hat richtig gut relaxen können.

eine der wenigen Unterkünfte mit einfachen und preiswerten, sauberen Bungalows in einem gepflegten Resort direkt am Strand.

Stromausfälle (die zwar mit Generatoren kompensiert wurden) und einmal eine Überschwemmung, die das Gelände knöcheltief unter Wasser gesetzt hat. War aber am nächsten Tag weg.

Great location with a good restaurant and great food with a bar area. All the staff were very friendly and the Manager Jane was first class and provided a great overall experience.
