Amazing pool and staff were good

Bed and pillows are not very comfy and the breakfast could be included in the high price

Die Anlage ist schön aufgebaut und der Pool ist super zum Entspannen. Wir bekamen beim Check In ein willkommensgetränk. Unser Zimmer war im 1 OG, was leider nicht so kindersicher ist. Das Zimmer selbst ist groß. Wir haben auf Anfrage ein babybett zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen.

Es könnte mehr Sonnenliegen und ein paar Sonnenschirme geben, die Schatten spenden könnten. Das Badezimmer ist sehr klein und man stößt sich auf der Toilette die Knie an - nix für große Menschen! Wir haben die Unterkunft aufgrund des Spielplatzes und der angegeben Kindersicherungen gebucht. Leider entsprechen die Fotos zum Spielplatz nicht dem aktuellen Stand. Alles war in die Jahre gekommen bzw. Die Kletterwand gibt es nicht mehr und für unsere 1,5 Jährigen Tochter nicht nutzbar.

Die Unterkunft hat einen tollen Außenbereich mit gepflegtem Pool, in dem man sich toll erfrischen kann. In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich viele Restaurants und der Strand ist nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Die Unterkunft stellt kostenlos Wasser zur Verfügung, was uns sehr gefreut hat.

Die Zimmer sind etwas einfach eingerichtet, ohne Nachttisch oder Mülleimer. Das Frühstück besteht lediglich aus Toast mit Ei und etwas Obst. Bei einem längeren Aufenthalt wird das Frühstück etwas eintönig.

Nicely maintained property

Absolut die grüne Idylle! Der Garten ist ein kleiner Dschungel – perfekt für meine Street-Photo-Leidenschaft, nur dass hier die Natur das Motiv ist. Der Pool erfrischt nach einem heißen Tag, und das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen (frisches Obst, sri-lankische Küche – ein Traum!). Das Team um die Managerin ist wahnsinnig herzlich und hilfsbereit: Sie haben uns Wäsche gewaschen, Touren nach Galle organisiert und immer ein offenes Ohr. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber blitzsauber – da fühlt man sich sofort wohl. Und als kleiner Bonus: Am Abend habe ich sogar eine spontane Schachpartie mit einem anderen Gast gewagt – fast wie in den Alpen nach einer Wanderung, nur ohne Mückenstiche.

Der Fluss nebenan hat seine Tücken: Abends zieht manchmal ein modriger Geruch auf, der die Tropenromantik etwas trübt. Auch die Moskitos sind allgegenwärtig (aber Mückenspray wirkt Wunder). Die Zufahrt ist ein holpriger Sandweg – mit meinem geliebten Käfer wäre ich da nicht durchgekommen, aber unser Mietwagen hat’s verkraftet.

E' il posto più rilassante e silenzioso in cui sono stato con una piscina fantastica come un oasi dove riposarsi leggere nuotare. Molta privacy. Nella natura a pochi passi da tutto. Gestito da ragazzi ma molto sofisticato.

Wir haben hier leider nur eine Nacht verbracht. Es war ein tolles Zimmer und sehr sauber. Die Familie ist so herzlich und freundlich. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und der Pool wirklich schön und toll angelegt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Excellent location away from the madness that is central Mirissa with a lovely jungle setting. Very nice swimming pool and surrounding area with the occasional visits by a family of monkeys. Staff were helpful when you managed to find one. Free tea/coffee and water in the dining area. Overall a nice relaxing stay.

Staff could have been more visible at times. No Fridge in room. Having to pay by cash with only Dollars, Rupees and Euros being accepted.

Die Zimmer waren sehr schön und mit universalen Steckdosen ausgestattet. Die Betten waren bequem.

Lediglich das Dach war bei Regen sehr laut und nachts haben die Affen Geräusche gemacht.

Easy 5 minute walk from the beach. Plenty of food nearby. Our room was huge and very nicely built. The shower worked as a real shower should (which is a bonus in Sri Lanka). Pool is really large and the toddlers pool is great for them or for sitting in with a beer. Really relaxing hotel, we very much enjoyed it.

Service was not good (they thought we reserved for another day) the bed was very uncomfortable, there was a lot of street noise at night, mirissa itself is very dirty (trash everywhere), the hotel is very much oriented towards russian travellers, room was dirty, no mosquito nets, no fridge or watercooker…

Friendly staff, but the owners (not Sri Lankan) ignored you completely. Maybe it's just a difference in culture. Solid breakfast and a very nice pool open till late. Nothing like a dip before bed :)

The garden could use a trimming.

Location was very convenient. Staff was very friendly and you can discuss any inquiries with them. Room was soo spacious and clean. Parking available for some vehicles and that was very convenient. Pool and the outdoor area was well cleaned.

Its better if the room could provide the guests amenities like soaps, shampoo. And the stair case to our room wasn't cleaned.

Amazing pool and facilities. The room has working AC (was a little loud), but good bathrooms and space. Incredible location within Mirissa.

The rooms smelt a bit funky and the mattresses weren’t comfortable.

The toilet had an open window that let all the rain sink in, soaked all the towels that were hanged underneath it and let all the mosquitoes get in. It's an area with a lot of mosquitoes and we would have appreciated if the beds had mosquito nets. The staff is short in english and made simple things (as laundry, money exchange, etc) a bit hard. We did the laundry there and didn't even weight it in front of us. Altogether the attention could improve.

The owner is very friendly and helpful! The location was great, a short walk to the beach. The pool area is great but unfortunately not swimmable due to it being green (this seems to be common in the off season). Peak season, this would be a great place to stay I think!

We booked here specifically to have to pool but unfortunately it was green and not able to be used. The showers drain was concreted in so the bathroom flooded every time you showered.

The location is practical. The grounds are beautiful, everything is so clean and well kept. The manager and the staff are wonderful and so friendly. They really made us feel welcome. We loved the attention to detail in this property. The location is brilliant, the beach is a short walk across the road. Nice good priced restaurants around. The beds were a great size and comfortable. The seating area out the front door is nice to look out on to the pool. Generally, the most welcoming host and staff and beautiful property and there is such a calm feel to the place

Very nice place with a swimming pool close to the beach and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was delicious. We were allowed to check out later. We had a great stay. It's a shame we only stayed one night. We would love to come back.

All was perfect.

A hidden treasure just a short walk away from Mirissa beach. The place was peaceful and beautiful just what we needed, and the host was so kind and welcoming.

AC was a little dated had to change the remote a couple times but the staff were always available and sorted this quickly.

Great apartment and pool, also nice area where you can have breakfast and chill out. Tishi really took great care of us, the surfing with her brother and owner Indi was also a fun experience.

The garden is exquisite! The trees the plants the pool is massive for a good swim the monkeyts are playing in the trees and the communal area is very Sri Lankan style (you can get oyur tea and coffee, water and breakfast there) Breakfast was tasty and great The room on first floor is much nicer for me than the one downstairs as there are high ceiling and gorgeous wood furniture. Best service from Kavindu! He is very attentive from the start I came to the end of my stay. friendly and accountable! There is an assistant with him and the Lady Manager all very helpful. Thank you again for making me feel home!

The personal was super helpful. The breakfast was served with sausages, bread, jam and omlettes with handful of fresh fruits.

The pool was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly. The room was spacious.

The bed was very noisy, even just sitting down on it. Turning during the night was distracting. The water in the shower ran towards the basic instead of towards the drain. We had to sweep it down the drain. The bathroom door didn’t close.

Great value for noney, especially the pool is amazing. The owner also has a great surf school.

The family that owned it were so lovely. They were extremely accommodating and made sure we had whatever we needed. They made us really nice breakfast every morning and organised tours for us when requested. The pool was really nice with comfy sun loungers.

Spacious rooms, beautiful property and conveniently located! Indhi was a wonderful host, and gave us amazing tips for navigating Mirissa and finding surf! Such lovely staff and the pool area is fantastic! Definitely recommend for your stay in Mirissa 😁

The location was good and that’s it. Also pool was good but doesn’t have a clear water in it.

The AC worked 50/50. Hot water you will get only if there no clouds during the day and sun is up. Pillows wasn’t comfortable at all. Bed linens and towels has the dump smell. We face the cockroaches in bathroom and changed the room for the same but without insects.

Location was fantastic, it's close to the main beaches, coconut hill, turtle beach etc but fair enough away to be quite and peaceful, they have plenty of accommodation with good sized rooms and comfortable beds, shower plus some amenities, the pool is by far the biggest we have come across (excluding big chain hotels), good breakfast in the morning. By far the best best bit though were the staff, they were so friendly and honestly couldn't have done more for us they were there at a seconds notice, amazing!

Honestly really struggling with any negatives, if I had to put one it would have been that the Aircon unit in our room decided to leak midway through the night and it seemed to lose it's ability to cool but this fixed itself after a few hours.

The location of Riverside Cabanas is great. There are lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away. The rooms were comfortable and the staff is friendly.

There is nog refrigerator in the room, bit you can use the fridge at the chill area.

The room was fine but not cleaned at all. The bedsheets had been changed but there was mice droppings on the table. There was water on the floor and when showing us the room then they started to clean and tidy it, which really should be done before.

The breakfast was not good. The fruit was not fresh, the bread was hard and even the tea had a strange taste. Which is unusual for Sri Lanka! Our worst experience however was with the staff. They spoke to us only to try and sell us something and when we rejected they weren’t bothered. Then at checkout they tried to overcharge us claiming taxes were not included and when we corrected them they got annoyed at us. It was funny you don’t allow yourself to be taken advantage of and it’s a problem. We have no problem leaving tips when service is good but this accommodation was overpriced for the quality. There is much better in Mirrissa for half the price.

The staff super helpful, they advised us a nice beach to watch turtles, a good surf school, and also arranged to rent a scooter and a taxi to the airport. The location and the rooms are perfect. I would recommend this place definitely!

Nice cabanas next to the main road in Mirissa. Beach, Lot of restaurants, bus stop and everything else in walking distance. Indee is a great host, who takes care all the time and organizes everything that you need.

Unfortunately the beds were really uncomfortable, thus sleep was not really relaxing.

Very good location close to Mirissa beach, ATM, supermarkets and restaurants. The pool and sitting area was beautiful and clean! Could see the monkeys on the trees, breakfast was very good and fresh fruit nice tea and coffee. The owner was amazing very helpful and would go out of his way to do anything for you and the other staff was lovely and made us feel very comfortable I would recommend staying here if you come Mirissa will definitely come again. He will sort out trips for you activities and taxis all cheaper then online! My boyfriend went to his surf school and he loved it very professional and good rate “blue wave” one of the best customer service accommodations I have ever stayed at.

such a very pleasant experience in this cabanas and the owner was very nice to recommend an excellent Chinese restaurant of seafood nearby:) 100 scores!!!!! Moreover my family quite liked the lovely swimming pool and all decorations, and the breakfast was also very good, I would definitely recommend the riverside cabanas to my friends !

Amazing place! Massive pool, very clean, comfortable beds and bedroom. Great location close to beach. Nice restaurants close by, the milky wave & garlic, must visit! The owner Indee is great, so welcoming very friendly and had lots of time for us, helped us with organising our future route and took us on surf lessons - which is a must, so fun and the best teacher! Must stay here if in Mirissa😁

Everything was top notch!

We absolutely loved our two-night stay at the property. It was clean, comfortable and had a great chill ambience that's perfect for leisure travel. The rooms were comfortable, the washroom clean, and the balcony helped us hang our clothes to dry (it was the rainy season when we stayed here). The pool at the property was a cherry on the top. If you are a pet lover, the two cats and a dog that roam the property are certainly going to bust your stress. Victoria and her team made sure we were comfortable. We had to check in very early to catch our flight from Colombo, and the staff went the extra mile to prepare our breakfast early in the morning. The resort is walking distance from Mirissa beach, and there are a couple of decent eateries to grab a quick lunch or dinner from.

How can I even start. I loved everything there. The only place in Sri Lanka where I felt like at home. it’s clean, spacious. beds are big. No ants. Once I left some food by mistake and came back two days later and to my very surprise there were no ants in it. In Sri Lanka it’s very very rare thing. There is no humidity in the rooms. Everything is new and clean. Pool is clean. I want to give special shoutout to Dmitriy, the manager. He made everything so I could feel like at home. In Sri Lanka hosts sometimes overdue the hospitality and it feels so fake but not with Dmitriy. His genuine, great person to chat, share stories. Never bothers with to much hospitality. Very positive and caring human. If I was the owner I would never let Dmitriy go. I stayed there 10 days and unfortunately I couldn’t extend my stay there cause Guest House was fully booked ((( If you’re lucky and there is an availability book without thinking. highly recommend

the Riverside Cabanas is an amazing place, run by a very very nice guy. the location is perfect, close to the beach and all the good restaurants, we had a great time and most definitely we will come back . pool was clean and the breakfast is good as well.
