The air conditioner was so loud. The bed uncomfortable. The price was to high for the room. The air freshener they used was to strong and was like that the whole stay.
Good location
Couldn't get tv to work, toilet had flushing issues, cobwebs in bathroom, no wall plate on electrical outlet where lamp was plugged in, noisy a/c, room very bright all night.
Location. We were driving across Ontario and Blind River was a good midpoint break. We got in late after a 10 hour drive. The staff person behind the reception desk was very friendly and helpful getting us settled in the room. Also, the property is on the water which was nice. Sadly we did t have more time to enjoy that.
The A/C was a little loud. That’s about it.
The location by the river is nice and they accept pets.
The property could use some updates.
I like the location in the town of Blind River Ontario convenient & friendly atmosphere & great parking space
Location is great. Walk to everything. The king suite room provides a beautiful view of the lake and a nice patio to relax on
The mattress needs to be replaced. It felt like you were laying on boards
Nice location by the lake. Rooms were large and fairly clean. Fridge was on and worked.
There were bright outdoor spot lights all around outside shining inside the room. They never turned off. The curtains were thin and the light shone right through. I hung sheets over the windows too and you could still read a book in the middle of the night without turning on any lights. None of my family could sleep. The air conditioner was also very old and didn’t work.
Very convenient location, comfortable beds, very clean, staff is friendly, efficient and proactively helpful.
Room was a bit worn out. Very clean,
The setting on a charming little marina with a private beach has so much potential, it’s a shame that the grounds of the inn were so littered and run-down. The room, like the rest of the place, was overall pretty shabby, but at least the bathroom appeared to have been (cheaply) renovated in recent years.
DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE PHOTOS ONLINE, this place is a dump! A train track runs directly in front of the motel, but fortunately no trains passed on the night of our stay. The so-called deluxe room we paid extra for had a bunch of dirty old mattresses and junk strewn on the grass right outside our window, ruining what should have been a nice lake view. The motel itself was shabby and run-down, badly in need of paint and new furnishings. The bed cover had patched holes. There were nasty old cobwebs on the air conditioner. I felt compelled to wear shoes in the room full-time because I didn’t feel confident that the floor was clean.
Pas grand chose
Bruyant, humide, vieux.. . Très cher pour la prestation
Location
Nothing
Great being right on the water. Had a nice swing bench outside to sit in and relax whole enjoying the view
A bit outdated.
Easily accessed and very accommodating. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Motel is very dated, newly renovated bathrooms are better though.
Easy to find. Nice sitting out area by river. Nearby restaurant and town. Staff friendly and helpful.
Room was a bit old fashioned and could do with a little updating but was still comfortable. Very noisy fridge in room.
Location is prime right downtown and beautiful view of the lake
Driveway is very bumpy really needs to be redone, cleanliness of rooms needs to be better as I found hair and dirt in the corners and dust in window frame
There was nothing I can say that was positive about this experience other than it was nice to be able to park the car right outside of our room.
The staff gave away the original room we booked through booking.com. The beds were very uncomfortable and the whole room and establishment gave the impression of being run down. For example the screen on the room's screen door was missing and the blinds on the window were broken. It was not a pleasant place to stay at all, and the staff was very unhelpful.
Great location and outlook.
Location to highway & on the lake.
They are in the process of updating the suites. The exterior lights on all night & curtains do not shut out the lights. Bed not comfortable & tv too far away.
The suite was nice and clean! The bed was comfortable and the view was great. We had room 20 with a king size bed. It has 2 large windows overlooking the river. Across the street from the hotel is a couple of restaurants. The price was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
Nothing really to complain about. The only thing I would change is the chair by the fireplace should be removed. It's old and worn and it's needed in the space. Also the freezer needs to be defrosted in the small fridge. These are just suggestions for the owner.
The location near charging station and restaurants. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Minor irritations in older motel which was being renovated. Issues - bathroom door did not close fully. Front door lock needed to be adjusted to lock. Owner came and made the necessary adjustment.
The parking lot was not plowed. To the point I had to pay an extra 200$ for a tow truck to get my car out of the parking lot. The room was filthy. There were big yellow stains on the bed sheets, stains on the walls & curtains. The mattress itself was actually dirty. I slept in my jacket due to the filth of the room. The floors were never mopped. From my experience, I have nothing good to say about this place.
Nothing
Filthy
location was great right on Lake Huron. It was bitter cold out however the room was warm and comfortable.
Arrived early, no one was in the office. had to wait 2 hours for someone to show up- Even though the sign on the office door said open. Step into room is too high making it difficult to get into. Bathroom: Toilet is not secure ready to fall through floor. Cracked ceiling paint falling off. Shower wall has cracks in it. and is probably leaking. caulking is pour. Door has large chips all along the bottom. Not sure what the black stuff on the wall is. Chair at desk was ripped and falling off. and you couldn't sit on it. Needs to be replaced.
bright flood light shining in the room darker curtains would be useful
NA
I showered and slept there for 5 hours before heading out so I didn’t have a chance to see anything in the light of day. Rooms were old but clean enough.
Paying $142 for a 5 hour stay
I felt unsafe as a solo traveller staying here. The room entrance was directly off the parking lot, there were 3 gel air fresheners piled in a corner of the room resulting in an unpleasant and overpowering smell and were clearly placed there to cover up a different smell.
The View and being by the water.
Was very out dated with furniture and bed was horrible.
Being by the water
People outside our window smoking, even at 2 in the morning. Also there was a lingering smoke in the room from previous customer.
Room was booked through booking.com and front desk staff charged me $170.00 for the room. I didn't realize that booking.com paid the motel directly as I only found that out when my credit card bill came in. I had to call the motel and get a credit as the room had been paid twice
Location great! Quiet and dog friendly @
Didn't like the light outside our window. Very bright at night
nothing
Great restaurant across the road
Nothing, terrible accommodation, room was like a prison cell
The reception was closed on arrival, finally someone came and couldn't speak English. Room was very small.
Great location. Everything else was good or reasonable except not being able to make the room dark at night.
No window covering on one of the windows left a security light shining into the room all night so brightly it seemed like day time outside all night and disrupted our sleep.
the room was small and the upstairs shower drained in my tub - totally inacceptable and disguisting. There was noise till 3:10 am making it impossible to sleep and i did NOT feel safe at all. It was a horrible experience.
No breakfast. No hair dryer. OK for construction workers but nit7 geared for tourists. Liked the beach location
See above
The room was relatively clean but very old and dingy. The tub and shower area had mold around the top of it but the hot water was plentiful. The beds were not terribly comfortable. There was no screen on the window. There was absolutely nowhere to get any food as all the restaurants are closed and even Tim Hortons was under renovation. The most positive thing would be the beautiful falls and water at the back of the property.
Clean and quiet
Everything was great
Clean, affordable, friendly
Clean room, friendly staff, convenient location
It’s location.
Bug traps in the corners of the closet and a drip when using the bathroom sink.
👍
Being right next to the river and lake was nice
the room was clean, the staff was great
Where to start?? Smells , curtain broken . Bathroom door doesn’t shut. Extremely outdated. But we did lock ourselves out and front desk clerked came up to open the door lol ..
Okay motel.
Noisy. Lousy shower. Faucets were loose. Curtains were so thin and exterior lights were so bright the room was lit up all night making sleeping very difficult.
Nothing to like about this Motel. Stay away at all costs!!! Firstly, I was told the that the room I booked, the Deluxe, King, Lakeview, with Fireplace was "unavailable". I was offered a very poorly kept double queen room that we could not even consider staying in. They provided a different double queen room which was only very marginally better. I was not offered the difference in price. The staff advised to follow up with Expedia. When I went to bring this issue to Expedia, they did not offer any compensation either. The very small room had very uneven floors, carpet was disgusting, wires, ac adapters, cables dangling/hanging all under the TV which was wall mounted up high. Only one chair and the tiniest desk (un-usable), and the chair was broken (like someone put their steel toed boot through it) Paneling was coming off walls. The bathtub and surround was all cracked and discolored from smoke. The list of issues is too long to continue. They charged $182 for this atrocious room when I booked it on Expedia!!!!! The staff were unavailable in the morning of checkout, so I could not bring a further discussion of my concerns to ask for a refund for the difference. As stated, Expedia has not been any help either and I will likely not deal with them any more. Overall, a truly disappointing experience and proves to me, yet again, that customer services is irrelevant and non-existent in these times. Very sad indeed.
Older motel Friendly staff Hotel is bring renovated. Great location
The room i booked was not available when i arrived. And had to book another room to get what was needed. So alot of extra money for what we got
Beds were very comfortable. Nice staff.
Our room was on the river side, sitting up on the deck was pleasent with the sound of the water.
Stay was awful room wasn’t what we expected..the dirt and grease along the one wall and baseboard was filthy..thought as the picture show we would be on the water side no…someone pushed the door screen out they had it taped in..had to find a way to plug the microwave and coffee pot in…air conditioner at first didn’t work I found there was a reset on the air conditioner plug..bathroom smelt like urine. Was just disappointed I mentioned it to the desk clerk he said I will tell them ..I thought tell who he looked in charged..we should have been compensated..
A good place to stay for my solo trip. I like the view of the river next to the building.
Easy and accessible
They gave us a room for one but I suspect I was charged for a room for two. They were confused when two of us showed up and put us in the small room - I should’ve investigated further at the time. Some guy was knocking at our door at night and morning looking for his friend….
This motel was so bad. Room we have was dirty and unsafe.Key for room did not work. Fouset for bathroom was faling a part. I will never recomend this Motel to anyone
The location was good because of good dog walking areas and water view was great .
The room was very dated, no covers on electrical outlets, took 20 minutes to get hot water , beds were very uncomfortable, only 1 chair— extremely slow wifi, tv was an exercise in futility- cable box was hanging on wall sideways so you had to get under it to turn it on . We requested a ground floor room due to mobility issues and we had an approximate 10 inch step to get from hallway to walkway to room then another 6 inch step up into room— none of which could be done with a mobility scooter or walker. When we pointed this out to the manager he suggested an additional room with steps almost as bad . We were charged over $200 for 1 night - 3 adults and a dog !
Scenery is nice but it is 1959 palace. The dead bolt doesn’t work and I’m alone.. it’s very expensive for what it is. But the pillows are nice. It’ll have to do in a pinch.
It sits on Blind River beautiful spot. It looked like the floors had been replaced. It was a bed to sleep comfy bed. It was a cold night no blankets to keep you warm. Noisy fridge. I hope the owner puts some money into it as it could be a little gold mine. I’d stay again if I knew it had been upgraded.
A great deal of dog and goose poop on the property. Many people smoking tobacco and weed on the property. Very outdated. Ie no towels racks, only one electrical outlet. I do like Friendly people, beautiful scenery, easy to access off the highway
This is north country and they do charge more and offer less. This is a beautiful area in a very small town with 1 Tim Hortons and for that the hotel is mainly used for CN and hydro workers. The rooms are bare bone and somewhat clean the beds are well used and only a couple of thin towels not that we would use the tub but it was a place to sleep and go. No one bothered us.
older property but nicely situated. beds didn't seem like much but my back didn't complain. Fellow at front desk was helpful
Overall appearance of the motel seemed makeshift to make do without having spent way too much money on a redo.
Nothing. We were relocated due to flooding through the roof.
We were relocated to another property 50 km away which meant back tracking for us. We originally booked at Old Mill for the location and the view. Hotel in Spanish was very poor quality for price.
owner friendly and efficient
Everything was very Old and used we almost get out but a 22h00 it was too late :-(
The room was stifling when I arrived. To reach the AC at the top of the window, I, a senior citizen, had to stand on a rickety chair. The room was on the 2nd floor. Grudgingly, the landlord helped me carry my luggage up the stairs. Many plastic floor mats along hallways were in poor condition, the ends flipped up: accidents waiting to happen. They need replacing. Freezer section of fridge very thick with ice; obviously not defrosted all season: lazy housekeeping. Decor: 2 shades of pink, very dated match the small pink bathtub. I felt like I had fallen into a vat of strawberry ice cream. The most expensive and terrible motel I stayed at on my trip. Memorable for all the wrong reasons. Of all my road trips, this ranks as one of the worst, if not the worst.
room 75 a/c didn''t work on a hot and humid night bright light shining in room, with curtain too thin to block
The view was amazing! We could see the river and the dam from our room! The building has a lot of great character, and it's bright, making it feel like a safe place to stay on our travels. We walked along the riverbank and found a small beach area where a few people were enjoying an evening swim. There was also a communal firepit and a veranda that wrapped around the entire second floor.
The beds were not the comfiest, and the bathroom door didn't latch, but we enjoyed our stay regardless!
Dint't like anything about this place, because got a call from the management saying that they have water issues and hade no room available, and got send 50 KM down the road to a 2 star motel in the midle of no were.
Location and the rom.
Be careful! This motel isn’t in Manitoulin Island at all! The motel is 150km far away from the entrance of the Island. When I searched the hotel in Manitoulin Island, Expedia website recommended this Motel. It is a trap! Don’t trust the results about Manitoulin Island from Expedia.
