Reviewed Mar 11, 2026De locatie was wat afgezonderd maar prachtig. Een oase van rust met uitzicht over het meer. Ook de mensen waren erg vriendelijk.
Ontbijt was niet bij de prijs inbegrepen en vonden we aan de prijzige kant, waardoor we kozen in het centrum te ontbijten.

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026Hermoso jardín con una habitación excelente, muy bien equipada. Desayuno muy bueno, piscina y laguna hacen que el lugar sea muy acogedor. Silencioso. Muy bien adornado.
El dueño/administrador tiene que tener un poco más de ganas de recibir a sus huéspedes.

Reviewed Jan 18, 2026Отель расположен в лесочке на берегу озера. Очень красивая и ухоженная территория (хотя и небольшая). Вокруг лазают обезьянки, а на территории отеля живут четыре милых щеночка (в январе 2026). Персонал заботливый, номер чистый
Довольно шумно (вокруг много больших отелей и оттуда часто доносится громкая музыка). Розетки в номере расположены неудобно. Бассейн всегда прохладный, днем это ок, но вечером прям холодно купаться. В номере были муравьи. Есть проблемы с Wifi, ловит только в некоторых местах на территории - в номерах нет.

Reviewed Jan 3, 2024we chose the property due to its beautiful gardens, and it did not disappoint. it was a quiet haven away from the busy centre of Hikkaduwa but also close by enough! it was very tranquil. the staff were very friendly. We had breakfast included and went for the srilankan breakfast each day which was wonderful, the portions were huge! they helped us rent a scooter and were the best place we've stayed in in Sri Lanka, jungle vibes with clean rooms and Sir Lanka vibe but also modern enough!

Reviewed Mar 26, 2018The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake.

Reviewed Jan 27, 2018Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb und in ruhiger Lage direkt am See. Die Besitzerin ist sehr nett und bemüht, die Zimmer sauber und geräumig mit Blick auf den See. Mit dem Tuk Tuk ist man in 10 Minuten / für unter 2 Euro am Strand.

Reviewed Mar 4, 2017The hotel is nestled in the jungle along a dirt path. Our room had a balcony, with chairs, looking over the jungle and the lake, incredibly tranquil and beautiful. It was perfect even in the rain. We were treated superbly by the staff who wrote happy birthday mum in palm leaves on the bed and produced a cake with a firework fountain on top. All the Tuk tuk drivers new exactly where to take us and it was less than 10 minutes drive from the station - negotiate the price. The owner told us how much to expect.

Reviewed Feb 6, 2016Villa bird lake is beautiful and relaxing. The rooms have amazing views over the lake, and the beach and town are only a few KMs away. A lovely place to stay.
