131 on Herbert Baker Boutique Hotel

This used to be an old favourite, the location is lovely. Breakfast improved since my last stay

Upon walking in, we immediately felt something at this property changed. The bar fridge was almost empty, not even coke stocked. There was an overflowing, dirty ashtray on our porch. Dirty hand marks on the patio door, as if someone looked into the room. Noisy fan in toilet. Broken soap dispensers. Not super clean. Staff screaming at the gate early in the morning. I doubt we'll return

Room nr 06 needs a deep clean. Shower was blocked, not all plugs working, hair dryer not working, carpet and furniture extremely dirty, bed lamp not working, stains on duvet cover

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, and the bed and cushions were very comfy. The breakfast was lovely. The area was very safe and secure. We enjoyed our stay.

A small, very nice hotel located in a secure, gated neighborhood with controlled access and security guards at the entrances. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the rooms are equipped with European-style power outlets and other thoughtful conveniences. The breakfast is delicious, the bed is large and comfortable, and the bathroom includes both a bathtub and a separate shower, along with soap and shampoo. The hotel is clean, very welcoming to guests, and conveniently located close to Brooklyn Mall.

Staff extremely friendly, plenty of parking. Breakfast was really good. Room was extremely clean.

The hot water was working however you couldn’t get it to set nicely, either boiling hot or room temperature.

Wonderful location in the security village of Groenkloof! Rooms vary in how polished they are but all are well-equipped, including with workspace — city view rooms are particularly nice.

Thank you for a fabulous stay. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking Pretoria. The staff very friendly and Savemore went out of his way to make us feel at home. My granddaughter even had a swim in the pool. Breakfast was super and all around good value for money.

I highly recommend 131 on Herbert Baker Boutique Hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff are warm, courteous, and genuinely helpful with everything from check-in to local tips. Breakfast is hearty, and more than filling-perfect start to the day. Great value, welcoming vibe, and everything exceeded expectations. I'd happily stay again!

In einer sehr ruhigen Wohngegend gelegen, findet man das kleine Gästehaus mit wunderbarem Blick über Pretoria. Parkplätze sind sowohl in einer Garage als auch direkt vor dem Haus vorhanden. Unser Zimmer war sehr schön und komfortabel, mit guten Betten, Minibar, AC. Bad und Zimmer waren sauber und gepflegt. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker.

Der Innenhof mit Pool könnte ein kleines refreshing vertragen. Die Auflagen/Liegen zeigen schon einige Abnutzungsspuren. Ebenso die auf den Außentischen stehenden Aschenbecher, wo sich Zigarettenstummel befinden.

Amazing place, well cared for. Bed was comfortable. Shower worked well. Felt safe as it is in a secure gated neighborhood. Breakfast was delicious. Real orange juice, not the mix kind you get at some places.

The aircon in our room did not work for our entire stay. That was the only thing that was annoying. Some of the doors and floor skirting need some maintenance but that did not take away from the experience. The left window lock in our suite (02) is broken so the window does not lock. That just needs to be looked at.

The place is actually more beautiful in person, the pictures don't do it justice. The treatment is top tier. The place is very clean. I especially loved the breakfast timings because no one wants to wake up at 6am while on holiday!

Not a dislike really more of a recommendation, it would really be nice if there was a microwave inside the suite instead of only one at the dining hall.

The location and breakfast were good

The Presidential Suit was not satisfactory. The drainage system was not functioning properly. There was a polluted humid environment inside the room which required us to open windows at night for ease of breathing. it was just horrible.

All the staff were outstanding. Savemore was so helpful and really helped us out of a difficult situation with our car hire when it didn’t arrive. The hotel is in a lovely area and we felt safe walking to the local shopping mall. It was a really great place to start our holiday in South Africa.

The entrance and an extremely steep, narrow, curving driveway. Steep steps up to reception. Disorganized parking up top. Place seems to be in a state of flux with exterior renovations evident and 2 large furniture removal vans outside in the morning.

This property in hit Hey Day was amazing!!!! Now that it is run like a B and B, it’s still cool!!!! It’s a tragic tale of post 2020 things that did not go well for the travel industry! If they refurbish and market it, it can be 2011 all over again!!!!

Spacious Rooms, Friendly Staff, Privacy to do our work they also kept on checking if we are fed and if we need anything else to make our stay more comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, it felt like someone was ALWAYS ready to help with ANYTHING. We never had to look or call for anyone the presence was always there. The music playlist was also really amazing.

We used to live in Groenkloof, so the first thing we liked was the location - on Herbert Baker Street in beautiful Groenkloof with beautiful views of Pretoria. We liked the smallish nature of the hotel as it felt almost like staying in our own home. The rooms are great, including the beds and linen. The staff was great, breakfast, etc. Planning on going back next time!
