We loved our stay here. Its a wonderful location to the water front, even the deers come and greet you.

Great place to stay and play!!

We stayed at Picket Fence on on September 7th and September 17th, 2025. Our host was gracious and the check-in went smoothly. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we enjoyed seeing some of the local deer grazing in the yard. We hope to see you again on return trips to the maritimes.

It looks so have been recently remodeled. Very clean and spotless bathroom. It was a quick ride to the historic downtown area where you found plenty of shops and places to eat. Tim Hortons was only a five minute walk around the corner.

Great place to stay in St. Andrews

We booked the Picket Fence Motel last minute by necessity since everyone in town seemed to have no vacancy. We ended up thrilled with our choice. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was absolutely spotless. Not even a speck of dust to be found! Our check in was quicj and easy and the staff was super friendly and knowledgable about everything going on in the community. Being a motel, there wasnt a lot of extra services but it was everything we needed and within a short walk of anywhere in Saint Andrews. Our only complaint might be the road noise but we were in a unit closest to the road. One of the units at the back of the property woukd likely avoid this minor nuisance. We would definitely stay again.

The absolute nicest motel ever. Looks typical from the outside, but the rooms are super clean and tidy (if somewhat outdated). They were very helpful and friendly at check-in. And there are some tables set up in the shady yard where you can sit, enjoy a snack and beverage, play cards, and chill. We'd definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

The welcome was great, the room looked nice, the property is modest but comfortable, the air conditioner was on low so the room would be cool when I arrived. All was well until I turned down the bed and found three long black hairs and one short one on my side of the bed. It was obvious the sheets had not been changed. That is a cleaning issue...the woman at the desk was very nice. I will not go back.

It was nice watching the turkey with babies running around, also watching the beautiful deer coming to eat out of the birdfeeders

Amazing stay! Great location, super clean quiet rooms (no noise at all between rooms). Hot shower water with removable shower head (always a bonus) Very comfortable beds. Air conditioner in room was quieter than most too! As an added bonus there were deer roaming the property.

The room was less like a motel room and more a super comfortable guest room in the home of a good friend. Many homey touches and obliging and welcoming staff. This will definitely be our stop if we come back to St. Andrews!

It's a little picturesque motel right in the middle of the town. Very convenient, clean, affordable, and the room was very spacious. Would come back again.

Picket Fence Motel has the friendliest and most helpful staff. Check in was a breeze and they were able to answer our questions. The room was quaint and VERY clean. Super quiet as well. The location was central and easy to get to everything by foot or by car. We loved sitting under the shade of the trees and watching Theresa the turkey and her babies having breakfast.

Nice little property, helpful staff, very comfortable beds. Nothing particularly unclean, although things showed signs of wear. Exquisite for the price point. Only thing I would ask to be improved is the quality of the locks.

Enjoyed my stay here for 6 nights and woukd reccomend this place. Walkable distance from all amenities barely used my car the entire week!

When we drove in, an eight point buck “Bucky” was just waking up next to the driveway. It was a beautiful place to stay. Table and chairs do we could play Scrabble. Had all the amenities that we needed and very friendly folks. Highly recommended!

We loved staying here, so comfortable and sue the owner was very nice and helpful directing us to restaurants and other things to do. This guy greeted us when we pulled in, the town is full of dear, so drive safe.

Very clean bathroom. The room was very clean but very tiny. Pillows smelled bad. It was good that I had brought my own travel pillow. It was an ok place just to stay overnight in between a long driving trip from PEI to Maine.

Clean, very affordable. They even gave us some towels to wipe our motorcycles down.

This is a 5 star budget hotel. The grounds and building are well kept. The owners are friendly and helpful. Our one queen bed room was compact but had everything we needed for a comfortable night. It is a short walk to the main street with many options for meals.

The room was a bit dated, but absolutely spotless (to my standard - and that is saying something. Not a speck of dust anywhere!), no strong or synthetic smells (great for sensitivities or allergies!) the beds and pillows are VERY comfortable, the location is convenient (there are no taxis, but it is only an approx. 15 minute walk into town - take a flashlight at night and watch out for the deer!) and in a quiet area. We had everything we needed (good blackout curtains too) and it was conveniently laid out. Plenty of parking right in front of our room and they have a really nice central outdoor seating area. The owners are very welcoming and have a wealth of brochures and information for visitors. We can definitely highly recommend and look forward to our next visit!

We could tell it was newly renovated. The bathroom had a corner shower and we were really impressed because it had 2 safety handles where there often isn't even one. A very friendly welcome and a great recommendation for a restaurant!

I recently stayed at the Picket Fence Motel in beautiful Saint Andrews and couldn't have been happier with my stay. The property was beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable and the location was a short walk to downtown Saint Andrews. My friend and I absolutely loved our stay. Making our visit even better was the helpful information from owner Sue. She spent time showing us the map of Saint Andrews and highlighting some restaurants and sights for us to visit. Thank you Sue! I will be back at the Picket Fence Motel.

This was a well maintained small town motel with a very pleasant innkeeper. The prior reviews were on the mark. The one thing I would add was it felt like the rooms had been gone over from the perspective of practicality for travelers. They made good use of limited space.

Quiet

Situated at the entrance of St-Andrew’s, the motel offers a practical place to stay at a very reasonable price. The tourist office is practically next to it and from there, one can walk to most of the attractions including the Algonquin Hotel, Kingsbrae Gardens, the Blockhaus and the wharf (all within 2.5 km). The room itself was typical of its category with a large bed, desk, and chair, nothing fancy but all in good condition. Additionally, there was a coffee pot and a fridge. Everything was clean. T.v. and wi-fi worked fine. The bathroom had the usual toiletries, enough towels, and a blow dryer. Outside on the front lawn, a few tables and chairs, perfect for a picnic. We made good use of it. The Picket Fence was exactly as expected and quite adequate for our stay. The owner was polite and helpful.

Classic vintage motel in a lovely resort town. Very comfortable beds, super clean & cozy room. Location was quiet, nice seating area for guests on the lawn. Owner was warm, friendly & went out of her way to make up for a glitch in our Expedia reservation. Definitely recommend & hope to return for a longer stay on future trip!

Great place to stay

We stayed at the Picket Fence for 4 nights. Sue and her husband were great host and showed a lot of pride in their property. We felt very safe and relaxed at the Picket Fence. Although it is an older building it is well maintained and very clean. We would definitely stay there again.
