A well maintained Inn. Very picturesque room, lovely grounds and very friendly Innkeeper family. The only issue is it is pretty remote, so if you don't have a car challenging (and costly) to get around.
Charming, historic inn. Wonderful breakfast! Owner is very helpful and a wonderful charismatic host!
I liked the old house, the decor, smelled fresh when you come in. The owner and their daughter were very nice. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. The breakfast was delicious. Had a very nice stay. Thank you
Our only complaint about our stay here is that it was too short! The bed was incredibly comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and the host full of recommendations for the area. This was a convenient and beautiful place to explore PEI from.
Very nice large room. Fairly clean. Bedding could be updated along with mattress and pillows
Beautiful bed and breakfast with great hosts - upgraded to a suite and loved it. They have been running it for over 40 years and the experience shows in how they treat their guests. Only drawback is that you have to drive to everything - restaurants, attractions and the beaches. But you always came back to a nice quiet comfortable “home away from home”.
We were in Room 1 in the old house. These comments may not apply to other rooms, particularly in the other house built in 2001. Room 1 left us very ambivalent. On the one hand, every amenity was provided. on the other, it was very dysfunctional as an accommodation. For example, from the left side of the gigantic antique bed, the view of the TV was obstructed by a large bedpost. The good Keurig coffeemaker was in a cupboard in a piece of furniture, which made it difficult to fill safely without using a phone flashlight. The bathroom was the same size as the bedroom. The bedroom was a good size, but overfilled with antiques. The bed was so high it had stairs. The two comfortable easy chairs were against a wall, and had to be moved if you wanted to visit with a person in each chair. The bathroom was gigantic, including a large jacuzzi and a good shower. There was a double sink counter along one wall. Again, though, that was dysfunctional. The one mirror was hung like a picture (and therefore wobbly), and it was not possible to shave or brush one's hair without moving sideways from the sink and bending down. The payment arrangements and cancellation date requirements were inconsistent with other PEI accommodations we used. This did not affect us, but is worth checking closely before booking. The breakfast offered many choices, but hardly exceptional. We would not stay here again.
The Barachois Inn in North Rustico, PEI was charming and beautifully appointed. The landscaping and outside decor is welcoming too! The innkeeper is a gracious and wonderful hostess/cook, while also being efficient & vibrantly fun! Put this Inn on your PEI list to visit!
Beautifully restored Victorial house, decorated with great care and thought. Lovely gardens. Welcoming staff. Convivial and delicious breakfast. Perfect. Thank you.
This was the highlight of our five-night stay on PEI. Such fine attention to details from the amenities in the bathroom to the lovely furnishings with every modern touch for comfort. Andrea goes out of her way to be a concierge for guests at this excellent B&B. She recommended two restaurants and both were exceptional.
Barachoice Inn is a must-stay for anyone who wants to step into the world of Anne of Green Gables. The rooms are beautifully decorated to capture the charm and warmth of the novel, and the breakfast is simply delicious. The host, a lovely woman, went above and beyond to make my stay feel special. If you're looking for a cozy and authentic experience, look no further.
Superb customer service and hospitality
The grounds surrounding the house are beautiful. Right across from the Banker’s Museum, a great little activity. Restaurant options are nearby. Host was very friendly. We only stayed in the main house and had no opportunity to see the additional guesthouse. Would try to stay there on a return visit. Breakfast was more then adequate.
The rooms were large and tastefully decorated tastefully.
Host was really kind and supportive. The place was cozy and having a beautiful neighbors.
Lovely stay in an historic building. The Inn keeps the integrity of a beautifully restored historical home while also supporting energy initiatives with solar paneling and EV parking spaces. The hosts care deeply about the history of the building and location and are full of information about PEI. Loved our room with views over the church yard and the bay. Only concern was with the shower head which needed repair (not able to be done while we were there - it was adequate). Breakfast was very welcomed; access to Netflix to watch Anne with an E was a bonus! Very much enjoyed our stay!
Absolutely beautiful home. Very hospitable staff and owner. 11/10!
Amazing place, highly recommend!
I am so happy we chose Barachois Inn for our recent stay in PEI. My mother is in a wheelchair and there were so few options on the island for her to stay comfortably. Barachois Inn made it possible and Judy and Andrea were wonderful hosts. Their hospitality made this spot the best part of the whole trip. Highly recommend it as a place to stay.
A beautiful property with excellent accommodations. The owner was very friendly and informative. The area is beautiful and has many excellent restaurants.
We spent two wonderful nights here, adding to our visit to PEI. The hosts are very warm and knowledgeable about the area, the inn is beautiful and thoughtfully decorated and our room was very comfortable. Would definitely come back.
The house itself is gorgeous. You travel in time when you open the door and you see the details of the house. It is somehow away from the buzz but it is perfect.
Andrea was such a wonderful host, helping us with an early morning start breakfast and fixing a broken TV charger. Lots of fun too !!
Property was advertised as a luxury inn. I expected better amenities. The breakfast was the same everyday. The jellies and syrup were small packets. Not local. Coffee pods in the rooms were Kirkland brand. Linens were medium quality. The internet was down during our entire stay. So no tv either. This added to our frustration.
Great location and the Campbell house units were wonderful.
North shore “green gables coast” gem! Heritage property family owned and run! Everything great except pillows.
Lovely overall if character is what you’re into. But the AC did not cool that room down much and the bedding was cheap.
Such a great place to stay! Our room was fantastic with a great jacuzzi tub. The host was so friendly and the breakfast was delicious.
Lovely area and inn.
Great location, very comfortable, and very friendly staff and guests. Very quiet and need to drive to nearby sights.
The property is in a beautiful rural setting and is an excellent location to take day trips from. The units are large and very well equipped including microwave and mini fridge. The owners daughter,Andrea prepares and serves breakfasts which are awesome with plenty of selection. She has a wonderful personality and sense of humour. Judy, the owner is a wonderful and very helpful person. Having run the operation for some 38 years she really has it nailed. The website accurately reflects the property. We highly recommend this facility.
We enjoyed our stay. The property had a luxury bed (although one of the four posters did obscure the view of the TV). The bathroom, especially the bathtub was huge. The room was well stocked with all the amenities we needed. It was very clean. Staff were very east coast friendly. Location was great - away from the busyness of many other places and close to some great restaurants.
Great stay! Wonderful room, friendly and helpful people. Made-top-order breakfasts. We loved it.
I took my mother on her "dream" trip to PEI all the way from Australia. This was the prefect location for our getaway. Judy and her daughter made us feel right at home. George was the perfect host at breakfast and we enjoyed eating with the other guests. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We cannot wait to go back.
It is a very beautiful and lovely bed-and-breakfast! And a very lovely location. However, the Internet was not working at all while we stayed there. Also, it would be nice to have a buffet style breakfast. We were served a pretty small breakfast.
Fantastic accommodation in a great location. Breakfast was a treat every morning. Thank you Judy and george for taking such good care of us.
What a beautiful property and location! Judy and her daughters made us feel right at home and filled us with lots of local history. The beach just down the street was the best recommendation of all. We very much enjoyed our stay and found it to be very convenient for all that we wanted to see and do on the island.
Could not fault this beautiful inn. Everything we hoped for and more!
Room was very cluttered and dated. Bathroom was old with small shower and old tub. Family was lovely very helpful and served a good breakfast Outside of the inn was beautifully renovated and gardens were well kept. Great location near to Cavendish and everything Anne of Green Gables. Interesting bay of North Rustico is close for dinner at the Blue Muscle. Also close to the wonderful restaurant The Pearl.
Lovely and quiet Inn. Staff are amazing. Owner Judy is a pleasure to talk to. Plenty of wonderful local history to be shared. We will definitely return!
Peaceful family-owned inn and location, informative but not intrusive staff, full breakfast every day, central location to most of PEI, and all the little things were offered (beach towels and chairs, board games, tourist materials, etc.). Highly recommend.
We love it!!!
The most amazing place I’ve ever stayed. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, the rooms and common areas are immaculately clean, the decor extremely tasteful. Hosts were friendly, helpful, and made me feel right at home. It’s in a great area not too far from Charlottetown but very picturesque and quiet. I would go back to this charming place in a heartbeat.
Our room at the Barachois was very large, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The hosts were friendly and a joy to converse with. Judy knows PEI's history extremely well and can provide tips for touring the area. We enjoyed conversing with the other B&B guests at breakfast which was excellent and had a nice selection. The B&B is located central to PEI and a good base for day trips. In addition, there are historical sites just across the street. We highly recommend the Barachois Inn and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
We were greeted by Gary who offered us an upgrade to a suite in the second house, which we were delighted with. The rooms were tastefully decorated in keeping with the original house but also provided all amenities - including an ingenious wooden ironing board disguised as a cupboard! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious - all kept spotlessly clean. The breakfasts cooked to order by Andrea were absolutely delicious, she is a gem! Taken in the beautiful dining room in the old house, using traditional chinaware around a large dining table, we had the opportunity to meet and talk with other like-minded travellers - an excellent experience. Judy is a charming and warm host, she offered information about the Island and we enjoyed talking with her. This is a unique place to stay - combining the grandeur of a historic house with truly home hospitality.
This was our first visit to Prince Edward Island (PEI) for my husband Robert and I. I saw this on the expedia site and was impressed by how pretty the Inn looked. It was even more beautiful seeing it in person. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The view from the rooms is picturesque. The hosts, the MacDonald family are lovely people. Mr. MacDonald makes a fantastic french toast breakfast with fresh berries. My husband and I will definitely return to PEI and to this beautiful Inn. Thank you to the MacDonald family for making our stay so lovely!
We enjoyed our two nights at the Barachois Inn. The room was clean and quiet and provided more than enough space for myself, my fiancee and my daughter. The highlight of the stay had to be the amazing breakfasts, cooked and served by the family at the inn. Delicious!
This is truly a "family-run" business and each member of the family is absolutely enjoyable. The location was central to our exploration. Each day we were sent on our way with a wonderful breakfast and directions and suggestions. The genealogist in the nearby museum (Theresa) was an added treasure! The area and the Inn were so relaxing, that we were happy just "hanging"!
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there, enjoyed the quiet area, good restaurant near by,good inhousebreakfeast
The room and the owners were great! We didn't have breakfast there either morning so can't vouch for that. There are some excellent restaurants within a short 10-15 minute drive of the Inn. We hope to be back next year!
Well located, this B&B is very clean, spacious room and bathroom. The Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is amazing. Thank you for the amazing stay.
Great place off the beaten path across from the oldest Catholic Church on the island, a gym, a Lions Club, and the Farmer's Bank Museum. Excellent breakfasts and hosts. A very quiet location and is a great place as a base from which to explore the north shore. The whole experience gives one a nice feel for the island for those who are from away!
Comfortable, historic bed and breakfast. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you.
Had a great stay, very warm and welcoming, large rooms. Everything was well kept and clean. The hosts were very warm, knowledgable and welcoming. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, yet within a short distance from many attractions and eateries. The breakfast was great in the morning and had many things to offer many different diets. I would recommend to anyone travelling in the area that this is a place you don't want to miss out on!!
Had a wonderful stay. Excellent accommodations and in close proximity to all attractions. Would highly recommend.
Staying here was like going back in time and experiencing a very unique piece of PEI's history. The rooms were comfortable and Judy provided us with a lot of information. You will require a car but I think this is fairly standard for PEI in general but it is a short drive to a variety of restaurants, beaches, and other amenities. Great stay!
