The Pines Motel and Cottages

The room and staff made it feel so “homey” and welcoming. The room itself too had absolutely everything you needed which made our stay even better. Free wifi, full kitchen with glassware and plates, cooking pots and pan with lots of pantry space. It was an amazing experience and the location was perfect - close to North Rustico and Cavendish which were our favourites.

There was nothing we didn’t like or had any issues with. The room was so clean and decorated beautifully too

Les enfants ont adoré la piscine chauffée. Les adultes avons apprécié l’accès à une laveuse/sécheuse et à un BBQ. J’ai personnellement apprécié d’être servit en français et bravo pour le drapeau LGBTQ+. On a senti que c’était un endroit accueillant et sécuritaire pour tous.

La chambre était petite pour 5 personnes (2 adultes et 3 enfants)

L’emplacement. La piscine chauffée. LE coin feu collectif qui nous a permis de belles rencontres. Le lit, le drap et les oreillers sont confortables.

Les petits gîtes sont vraiment très de base et plutôt vieillot. Plusieurs perce-oreille dans le logement. Une cigarette dans le divan lit. On entend +++ le chauffe eau au propane lorsque nous sommes couchés.

We loved how clean and fresh everything was. Also they had a washer and dryer available in the evening for a small fee.

Enjoyed the swimming pool.

Not too far of a drive if you plan on doing things in cavendish. We booked a regular room but upon arrival they let us know we would have a cabin for the night instead. Very happy with this. We stayed in the cabin for 1 night, it was clean and cozy inside. Our children enjoyed the heated pool very much and they even supply towels for the pool. Would visit this place again.

Das Motel ist sehr schön gelegen. Das Zimmer war sauber und zweckmässig. Es hat Sessel draussen und am Abend kann da gemütlich sitzen. Das Preis- / Leistungverhältnis ist sehr gut.

The location, the pool, the staff, everything was better than I could have expected when booking this place blindly. Would 100% come back and will be suggesting to other friends. We stayed in the motel style unit

The location was what we were looking for regarding our plans in PEI. The owner was very friendly and addressed our request for a drip coffee maker right away. The grounds were spotless as was the cottage and the heat and air conditioner worked well. The view from the deck was lovely. It was minutes away from a variety of restaurants as well as the grocery and liquor store.

The reason I booked this cottage was I was under the impression (from the photos) that we would be staying in our own self-contained cottage but unfortunately each set of cottages are a large building divided into two and attached by a wall (we found this out when we asked to move cottages within minutes of our arrival). The cottage attached to us had 4 guests and the noise/banging startled us out of our sleep at 6:30 am our first morning. It went on for a prolonged period of time as they were packing to leave. The second set of guests banged their entrance door every time they used it and this was where the head of the bed was in one of the two bedrooms. Our kitchen and bathroom were outdated and in need of renovations, I could not tell this from the photos on line.

The property was clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Peaceful, lovely surroundings. Easy to get to nearby small grocery store and restaurants.

We did not have the breakfast.

I could not find any plugs for charging phone etc.

Our cottage was a little worn down and was a big trouble with hot water.

I loved everything. The view was amazing. The room was sweet, clean, everything we needed. Arranged nicely. The bed was comfortable. Checking in was very pleasant and welcoming. Check out easy and fast, yet took the time to make sure we had a good stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Loved the grounds with the outdoor pool and fire pit. The available BBQ was great to quickly make some burgers for dinner since everything else around was already closed. Staff were fantastic! Room was comfortable.

The bathroom was a bit small with no counter space but for one night we managed as a family 4. We found it a bit damp in the beds, even with cool temps and the AC running.

We loved the location and the property itself. It was perfect for what we required.

We were able to bring the dogs with us, but 2 people had to stay behind every time we went out in case they barked. This meant that for these guests, they missed much of what the island had to offer. Also the pool--no jumping into the pool, no splashing--i kept waiting for the notice that the kids couldn't sound like they were having any fun. The "neighbors" have too much influence on this resort.

There was no breakfast. The room was cozy and loved the decor.

Clean towels and face cloths daily. Could have more coffeemate. We were late getting back and wanted tea but we used it that morning and couldn’t find a store open so no drink.

Older motel, but nicely updated. Clean and an excellent price point. Larry was a gem. Needed a restaurant suggestion and we followed his advice. Fabulous meal at a great location at North Rustico harbourfront. Would stay again.

We were welcomed by Larry, the room was clean and basic. The bed was comfortable and the area quiet.

It was a lovely Motel, affordable and clean, the staff were very kind. Our dog was welcomed. The motel is very centrally located in PEI, making it a great base to explore the province.

A nice convenient place to stay, in good condition and well kept. Only issues I had were over powering scent in our room from cleaner and a lot of sand flies from the water location which is not a direct issue with the motel but should be noted.

Room were a bit cramped for 4 person.

The staff were super sweet and we had a great view of the water too.

The beds were comfortable, and the muskoka chairs on the boardwalk outside the room looking towards the sea was a nice touch. The employees were helpful and welcoming. Great location between Cavendish and Stanhope.

Friendly staff, clean, well maintained, great air-conditioning, walking distance to a restaurant on the water, the pool area is great and the pool was very clean.

Our cottage looked out onto a beautiful lake with loons swimming and osprey and bald eagles to be seen overhead. It was tranquil, comfortable and quiet, all that a visitor could ask for.

The cabin are really nice you got a pool and park right there but the best is the staff they were great i have 2 disability children and one was sick and he helped anyway he could we weill return

L'air climatisé pousse l'air froid directement sur le lit. C'est dommage.

Our family stayed here for one night in July. Just outside of some of the busiest spots, we found this absolutely charming example of what an independent motel should be. The room was clean and very well maintained. The amenities had us wishing we were there for more than just a nights sleep. There are BBQ's available for use which we would absolutely plan to use next time since finding dinner on the island can be a trick in peak-season. The campfire pit, playground, and pool are all waiting for our return to the island, which may not be for some time so let's keep this place packed and open for when we come back! The prices were comparable to the other accommodations, but the amenities made it a better value. The owner was a fantastic human who has turned the office into a lovely little gift shop and very welcoming place. We were also welcomed by a red fox on the road turning in. We stayed in many places during our 10-day excursion and this was one of the few places that we really wish we had been able to stay at longer. Please stay here, you won't regret it.

The ONLY thing that might improve this place is lines in the parking lot. We arrived late and found that fellow travelers spaced themselves out in a way that made parking a small challenge. If there were lines, then they were hidden under cars ;)

Malheureusement les matelas étaient très très mous ce qui a rendu moins agréable la nuit.

The property was beautiful. Gentlemen at the front desk was great and had a sense of humour. We will be back.

A hidden gem.

Arrived during a heat wave and they had the air-conditioning on and the room was wonderfully cold. Very much appreciated. Quiet area, nice views, friendly staff and a very busy little restaurant at the end of the road. Definitely recommend this motel.
