Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Colin’s hospitality, the setting, the fire in the sitting room, the views, the location close to Cardhu distillery and the thoughtfulness of the dinner arrangement and a good breakfast.
The room upstairs was a bit pokey and despite being fit and active 73 and 77 year olds, we would have preferred not to have to drag cases upstairs. We’re starting to feel a little nervous about unfamiliar stairs these days.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026We hadden een heel aangenaam verblijf bij Sarah & Colin, we vonden de gesprekjes zeer aangenaam!De kamer was netjes en verzorgd en van alles voorzien. Het ontbijt was erg lekker, alsook hun diner. Alles wordt met liefde en verse ingrediënten bereid! De locatie is ook erg mooi en rustig. Toch zit je dichtbij Cairngorms National Park en verschillende distillery’s.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Colin ist ein super Gastgeber und bietet nicht nur ein klasse Frühstück an, sondern unter der Woche auch selbst gekochtes Abendessen. Die Unterkunft ist großzügig, das Haus liegt in einem großen Garten. Die wenigen Zimmer sind groß genug, die Betten sehr gut und mit einem schönen Bad ausgestattet. Das Cardhu-House ist unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026Colin ist ein überaus freundlicher Gastgeber. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Wir hatten auch ein Mal Dinner, was auch sehr gut war. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und komfortabel. Das Bad war schön groß.
Die Beleuchtung im Zimmer war etwas zu dunkel für den großen Raum. Sonst war alles super.

Reviewed Jul 23, 2026The room was very spacious and it was a bright and sunny location. The breakfast was good with ample food. Parking was very convenient with many spaces available.
It was a bit further out from town than we would have liked, but it was extremely quiet because of that. But you can hear your neighbors fairly easily. We arrived too early, and got a bit of a starchy welcome because of it. But the host was pleasant when we arrived back three hours later.

Dass wir nur eine Nacht gebucht haben... Wir hätten gern noch länger hier verweilt.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026-We hebben nog nooit op zo een prachtige plaats geslapen! Zowel de omgeving als het huis was top. Idyllisch, rustig, wat je verwacht in de Highlands! -De gastheer was zeer vriendelijk en ontving ons alsof hij ons als jaren kende. -Het ontbijt (en avondeten) was zeer lekker. Dit was het beste verblijf van onze trip in Schotland, hier komen we zeker terug als we nog eens in de buurt zijn.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026Een persoonlijk ontvangst van eigenaar Colin, Alles werd goed uitgelegd. We kregen een ruime kamer met een heerlijk groot bed. Kamer heeft een zitje en je kijkt heerlijk de tuin in. Koffie en thee faciliteiten op de kamer en we kregen ook nog thee geserveerd in de lounge. Een grote badkamer met een regendouche ( ik miste persoonlijk wel een handdouche) Heerlijk ontbijt, yoghurt met homemade granola en toost. Daarbij nog de keuze uit verschillende warme gerechten. Onze zalm met roerei en de gevulde omelet waren heerlijk. Ze hebben 6 kamers en een lounge waar je gebruik van kan maken. Helaas in het weekend geen diner service maar we kregen verschillende tips voor andere restaurants. Parkeren kan gratis op eigen terrein. Zeker een aanrader om hier eens te verblijven.
Klein tipje; een haakje voor de handdoek naast de wastafel.

At night, it was peacefully quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Colin is a great host. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every minute.

Reviewed Oct 17, 2025Location was just lovely! Colin and Sarah could not have been more helpful. The rooms were very well appointed and the en-suite facilities were great too. Breakfast in the morning was a real highlight - especially the porridge made from whisky soaked oats!
Our lovely rooms were on the second floor at the top of the house, which wasn't ideal for my older parents as they struggled a bit with the stairs - on reflection I should have checked that their room would not require more than one flight of stairs to reach.

Our host was wonderful, so welcoming and full of great tips for places to eat, beautiful walks, and of course, whisky tastings. The country house itself is stunning, with beautifully appointed and spacious rooms that had everything we needed. The meals were a highlight, featuring fresh, local ingredients prepared to perfection. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Speyside!

My food allergies usually throw a wrench into things, but Colin and Sarah put a lot of effort into making sure I had as many wonderful dishes as everyone else. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing as was the stuffed pastry dinner and delicious coleslaw. I can’t recommend this place enough. 👏👏 well done ❤️

We needed an early start and they accommodated us with an early breakfast (also excellent food). If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This hotel is also within walking distance to the Cardhu distillery so that is a nice perc as well.
