The hostel is very dirty. The furniture and interior are heavily worn out and in need of renovation. The photos on the website do not reflect the actual condition of the rooms; in reality, everything looks much older than advertised. There were cockroaches in the room. I was also surprised by the very high rating and the large number of recent 10/10 reviews. Based on my experience, the actual condition of the hostel was very different from what I expected after seeing the rating and reviews. Due to the discrepancy between the photos and the actual condition of the property, as well as the cleanliness issues, I cannot recommend this hostel.

Reviewed Nov 9, 2025The hostel is located right in the center of Tiberias, with plenty of parking spaces in front. The hostel itself feels quite peaceful; on the second floor, there’s a shared kitchen and some common areas, and the rooftop terrace with a view of the Sea of Galilee is particularly beautiful. The rooms are simple but equipped with air conditioning and a refrigerator.
Despite the very friendly staff, the biggest issue with the hostel is probably cleanliness — at least by Western European standards.

החדרים לא נקיים מספיק לצערי , מחלקים מצעים ואתה צריך לגשת ולעשות זאת - זו טרחה מיותרת . מה שיותר מסוכן , השמיכות חורף שבחדרים,בצבע כחול ככה ,לא כובסו המון זמן ,והמון אורחים כבר התכסו בהם ,ולכן יש בהם ריחות לא נעימים ,של זיעה , כתמים ,לא היגייני ואף מלא חיידקים,פשוט מסוכן לציבור השמיכות הללו שלא מכבסים ( אולי פעם בשנה ) המטבח ,כלי המטבח שמצפים שהאורחים ישאפו אחריהם ,בהתאם ובאופן לא מפתיע ,מלוכלכים ולא נקיים ,עם מלא חיידקים, כי טבע האדם הממוצע הוא לשטוף כלים בצורה הכי פחות נקייה ,כי הוא יודע שלא הוא ישוב להשתמש בהם ,אלא מישהו אחר " שיאכל אותה "

Немного испортило настроение то,что из холодильника на кухне у меня пропали 3 бутылки воды и некоторые продукты. Но это не вина хостела

המקום לא נקי ולא מתוחזק, בחדר הייתה מראה על הרצפה (לא תלויה, היה צריך להתכופף לרצפה כדי להשתמש בה) הקירות מלוכלכים ודורשים צבע דחוף, כשהגעתי לחדר המיטות לא מכוסות והכל נראה מלוכלך (כל הכריות והשמיכות מוכתמות), קיבלתי סדין ביד והייתי צריכה לשים בעצמי את המצעים, חדר האוכל היה מטונף והקפה בסיסי, הצינור במקלחת היה קרוע והזרם עף לכל הכיוונים. בקיצור למקום יש פוטנציאל טוב אבל חייבים דחוף לטפל בתחזוקה שלו.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2025I was very impressed with Tiberias Hostel. I had a problem with Booking.com adding an exorbitant bill when I added an extra night through their website. The hostel was very patient and trusting by giving me time to sort out the problem rather than making me pay the raised price up front. Beware of "changing dates" on Booking.com because they don't tell you how much it will cost and bill you after they get the OK from the property BEFORE asking you to confirm. In any case I am very grateful to Tiberias Hostel for not making my life miserable because of the technical issue.
There was no soap in my bathroom, working batteries in the TV remote control, or bath towel in my room when I arrived. However, the staff took care of all of these issues within 24 hours of my notifying them.

The kitchen facilities were almost non-existent. Needs at least a microwave, more coffee and tea supplies, milk/creamer, and more mugs. A proper kitchen, even a small one, would be good. Hostels are expected to provide some self-catering facilities.

Every time we visit the north, we choose this place because of the incredible hospitality—and most of all, because of Kobi (קובי). While the entire staff is kind and professional, Kobi truly goes above and beyond. From the spotlessly clean rooms to his thoughtful attention to detail, he makes sure every part of our stay is perfect. He helped us with everything for Shabbat and gave fantastic recommendations for places to visit and eat. He’s the reason we keep coming back—and why we’ll continue to! Highly recommended!

Reviewed Apr 27, 2025Very convenient location of the hostel. Two minutes from the bus station. Kinneret is a 2-minute walk away. There are a lot of interesting hiking locations in the vicinity of the city. Mount Arbel, Mount Berenice, Hamat Tiberias hot springs and much more. Public transport is inexpensive and at a very good level. Everything is clear and accessible. All shops are within a radius of 300 meters. Great friendly atmosphere in the hostel. I stayed in a separate room. The room has a very nice separate bathroom. A large wardrobe for suitcases and clothes. A very comfortable bed. I slept very well. Small fridge, TV, air conditioning. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is also a separate room with washing machines and a place to dry clothes. There is a great terrace on the roof of the hostel where it is very pleasant to spend evenings with friends. Excellent hostel for a comfortable stay! I will definitely come back again.

Reviewed Apr 2, 2025I stayed at Tiberius Hostel for three nights. The staff at the hostel were very welcoming and hospitable. They offered me food and welcomed me to sit with them for dinner. The location is perfect for seeing the sites around the Sea of Galilee and is very affordable. The hostel has a roof that looks out across the Sea of Galilee, which is perfect to relax. The place was clean, and everything was in its right order. There isn't a bad word I could say about it. I would recommend booking this hostel if you are planning on staying in Tiberius or in the surrounding areas

Reviewed Jan 18, 2025The hostel is easily reached down the same street as the bus station heading towards the Sea of Galilee. A pin is needed for the front door. Check in was quick and easy I had managed to ring them about my eta from the bus but apparently got the wrong number. The kitchen/dining room is large and well-stocked with cooking equipment. The rooftop is a lovely place to sit, socialize and enjoy the view. There's a clothes line and electrical sockets. The location is central and a short walk from Kinneret. Everybody including staff and other guests were friendly and helpful.
Luggage must be dragged up stairs. The dorms are quite small and cleaning was sporadic due to minimal staff because of the war, when I was there.
