Hotel and dining was amazing. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our stay very much
Good
Good location
Our stay at Mercer was excellent - great and friendly staff, lovely room, superb affiliated restaurant, and perfect location for a weekend away in Stratford. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic location. Paid for on-site parking but never turned the car on in 5 days.
The staff were amazing - very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was tasty and had a varied menu. The room we had was clean room, comfortable King bed, recently renovated bathroom was new and shiny and clean. The room lacked charm and warmth but had all the required amenities. Weird fireplece design in our room. I would go back but try another room. There was a huge AC or similar machine for the bldg beside that rumbled most of the night.
Fab stay with our kiddos and pup! Thank you :)
Excellent location, friendly staff, clean, updated room! The only thing I didn’t love was having to walk downstairs for ice.
Really nice spot on top of the Mercer restaurant close to all Stratford has to offer. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. Great value, would definitely come back
Obviously, not having an elevator is a drawback. The rooms we had were lovely, but the street noises and lights can get distracting. The location is perfect for walking everywhere so I guess it’s the trade off. Awkward and small staircases for walking with suitcases. Not good for elderly but awesome for able-bodied people. The convenience of having the bar downstairs is nice for a drink, and the room sizes were really good. I would stay again just for the location.
Wonderful staff and cozy, comfy bed.
Many steps no elevator. Small hotel. Staff was great from hotel staff to breakfast server.
I find the hotel clean and the staff are okay.
Other than 2 flights+ of stairs (use carry on luggage) this was a dream hotel. Nearby amenities and attractions, quiet and modern.
The staff were incredible! From check-in to departure everyone had a smile and seemed to genuinely care. The room itself was lovely. The only suggestion would be that housekeeping need to spend a little more time snd attention when cleaning the room.
Beautiful property, great staff. We knew there wasn’t an elevator so worked around that. Recommend!
Really neat boutique hotel with beautiful rooms! Kind of awkward with the desk in the bar, but otherwise great!
Had a great stay, friendly staff. Great food. Great atmosphere. Convenient location. Will return.
.
We couldn't get the fireplace in room 305 to work and really wanted that ambience...maybe instructions would be helpful
I love the food here! Room is clean and new!
Great downtown location. Very good restaurant and obviously popular. The staff we met were great. Our room was just "meh". The decor is sort of industrial. A bit stark. My own preference for hotel decor is a bit warmer and much more luxurious. I want to feel I'm treating myself and this one didn't live up to that.
Cute little hotel! Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Only complaint was the size and location of the TV (small, in the corner of the room), but that’s a very minor issue. The Mercer restaurant is fantastic! The food and beer were amazing, I would definitely recommend it. The hotel and restaurant staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, we had a nice and relaxing time and would definitely return!
Was under construction during our stay. Very loud early in the morning.
Location central, very accommodating and receptive staff, comfortable and quiet
This is second time staying at Mercer Hall. It’s convenient and central to amenities.
Staff was terrific - friendly and helpful. Our dinner on Monday was excellent - menu was most interesting. The Miso brûlée desert was both unusual and very tasty. Will come back next year!
Friendly staff and love the rooms, industrial look but cozy atmosphere!
We had a great stay at The Mercer. The location as excellent, the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Best of all it’s pet friendly so we were able to have our pup with us! Would stay here again!
Friendly staff, great location, nice room.
Parking was not convenient especially with inclement weather. When we arrived we were told the room we booked got mixed up and were offered 2 King rooms instead of the Queen room we booked for our weekend away (we did not want to stay apart). Although we were offered complimentary breakfast it was an inconvenient situation. There are narrow stairs to climb to get to the rooms so the hotel should offer complimentary bell service. Although the rooms looked to be recently renovated the carpet on the stairs leading to the room floors had a funky smell and needs to be replaced. The location to the Main Street in Stratford is lovely but won’t rebook for the reasons listed above.
Unfortunately the only complaint is the snow, and they can’t control that
Great location right downtown. Easy to walk to everything you need. Just know that access is staircase only.
It was great! And the food is exquisite
a bit unusual for a hotel to have the front door closed at 9pm and you are required to enter through some alley way backdoor after 9pm especially if you are visiting without your car, also limited service due to the fact it is a restaurant front
.
Absolutely loved Mercer hall, both the stay and the food/drink. If you are planning a weekend getaway to see a show at the theatre make Mercer Hall your home base.
Location was perfect.
We were thrilled that they were able to change the room to a lower level, as my sister's knee is not 100% yet. Very considerate.
Very convenient location & extremely welcoming and friendly staff. Loved our stay!!
Great staff. Be prepared for lots of stairs. Comfortable bed and adequate facilities
This is a perfect location for a Stratford trip. Walk to Avon and Tom Patterson theatres easily. We were a bit underwhelmed for the price. Shower gel was empty in the shower. No Kleenex in room. Stairs going up to the room were dirty. For $400 a night this bugged me. Food at Mercer is awesome though and reasonably priced.
The environment and the service was good. We appreciate that the hotel allowed us to bring our cat with us (extra cleaning fee required)
Perfect place to stay in Stratford. Spacious and quiet rooms, quick walk to the theatres, and tons of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops on the doorstep.
Very friendly and helpful staff; very nice restaurant on the ground floor. Room was ok but needed maintenance as some of the baseboard tiles were coming off in the bathroom. Spacious room. Air conditioning makes the room humid, unfortunately. Main flaw is that we were on the third floor and there is no elevator. Staff was kind enough to help get our bags up there, but walking up and down a rather dirty staircase to get to the hotel is not optimal.
A hidden gem for those going to the theatre - very friendly staff
The hotel is located on the main street of Stratford. Even though it's a busy street the hotel room was very quiet. We stayed on the 3rd floor. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and is walking distance to theaters, shops, bars and restaurants. Parking is also located on the property.
Would look for other options in the future. Convenient location. Apathetic service. Cheap decor/furnishings, but also expensive in the area. The bar/restaurant was loud until late which would not make it a good choice for light sleepers.
…
Very comfortable and convenient hotel in the heart of Stratford.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the room spotless. Everyone was friendly and we will be going back.
We stay here every spring to attend a show at the Stratford Festival. Lovely rooms, good food. Friendly staff. Stratford itself is a charming place!
Wonderful staff, quick and easy check in. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Unfortunately no elevator so climb to 3rd floor can be a challenge.
Great property! Lovely staff! Will stay again.
I would have liked earlier weekend breakfast (even if it was just some baked goods/fruit) and maybe a discount in the restaurant for being a guest, Lovely and helpful staff, very clean rooms
Gg
Stiflingly hot! Bottom sheet was not fitted and kept coming loose. poor quality towels.
Love this place! Beautiful location, personable customer service, the design of the rooms is gorgeous and it is overall a wonderful experience. It’s my second time here and hoping to come back!
Greatl hotel and restaurant staff were absolutely amazingb
We really enjoyed our stay! Brooke took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Great dining options and Mercer Hall restaurant was fabulous! We’ll be back soon!
Boutique hotels often have some logistical issues for parking and movement! Hotel and restaurant were great
Beautiful hotel. Loved the style and decor of the room. Filled with nice touches. Josh at reception went above and beyond helping us when checking in. Can’t wait to go back!
We stay here regularly. Mercer Hall is perfectly located, with cool rooms and lots of dining options. The breakfast on site is excellent. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Very accommodating to ensure we were able to check in on Christmas Day. However, since there was no one physically there we were charged for parking although it wasn’t used. Check out times are very strict, someone knocked on our door right at the door 11 AM. Great location and extremely convenient.
We love Mercer Hall! The staff make the experience so wonderful and the rooms are beautiful!
This is lovely place right in the heart of downtown Stratford. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic. It is in the middle of the downtown shopping district and close to the Stratford Avon Theatre. One caveat is there are only stairs but we expected that.
PROS: Great, clean, airy room that is centrally located in downtown Stratford. It is near shopping, restaurants and The Avon Theatre. CONS: lots of stairs - if you need a room with 2 beds, it's on the 3rd floor. No regular TV in the room, had to stream from IPAD,/Phone, don't know if that's normal or if cable was not functional. Small front desk inside restaurant downstairs is unstaffed overnight.
Great little boutique style hotel - love having a bar/restaurant on the ground floor. Very convenient for taking in shows at Stratford. Not so fond of the stairs.
Great and the restaurant delicious
Great place in the centre of Stratford. Room was nice, staff great. No issues. Only thing I would warn about is that is all stairs to the rooms, no elevators. We were on the floor immediately above the restaurant, its 3 flights of stairs from the parking entrance. So if stairs are an issue for you this is not the place for you. We however thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great stay
Lovely historic property conveniently located in the centre of Stratford. The staff were amazing from the moment we checked in to the time we left. No elevators but we knew that we when booked. Rooms were spacious but need to be refurbished especially the outdated bathrooms. No usb ports for charging. Beds were really comfortable. One big downside was the room needed a good cleaning especially the floors. There were hair balls in corners and hair stuck on shower curtain and other items but really the staff, location and restaurant (which is amazing) made us overlook the negative.
Good location for walking to theaters. In the very center of town, with easy access to restaurants and stores. Not a hotel for people unable to walk stairs or not carry luggage up down, as no elevator. My only dislike was the coffee maker which was expresso, not regular brew. Staff was very friendly. When arriving at hotel park in rear and enter building from back service door. Wind around stairs to first floor where you will locate check in desk across from restaurant bar.
Mercer is situated right downtown in Stratford. It is a great location. The staff are all terrific, very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is great, good food, good service. Our room could use a bit of a refresh, it is getting a bit tired looking. Overall, it is a great place to stay.
Friendly staff. Nicely renovated and spacious room.
Friendly staff
The location was great. Staff were friendly. Easy to walk to the theatre and lots of shopping and restaurant options. My concern was that there are no elevators and if you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you.
Great location
Have never stayed at the Mercer prior to this adventure, but would do it again. Rooms light and bright with tall ceilings and large windows too. Staff was uber wonderful and the restaurant and bar on site was terrific. LOVED IT ALL!
It is an older building with character. Do not really have any negatives as we only stayed one night.
We enjoyed our stay at the Mercer. Lovely renovated rooms. Wish the bathroom was more contemporary. Street side a bit loud at night. Overall a good stay.
We like this hotel. The rooms are nice, the location walkable to all the theaters, good bar, great breakfast, lots of stairs to walk off food and beer, in the middle of everything. An elevator would just make it fabulous, but that is a small concession. Staff is wonderful. Enjoyed our stay once again
Love staying at The Mercer. It's our second year staying there. It's so convenient to the theatres, shopping and dining. The restaurant downstairs is fabulous too.
Women servers at the bar and the female manager were very friendly and helpful!
X
The hotel was great. Brooke took care of us at check in and was very helpful. The meal we had that evening was fresh and tasty. Breakfast for $10 was good value. Overall a great stay and would stay there again.
Great staff
M
The staff are so so nice but the hotel is really getting old. Mind you, the room was spacious and the bed comfortable. My fireplace did not work and my friends TV did not work. Rooms did not look like they did on the website. The whole hotel needs renovating.
It was a great night
Very helpful staff
Very nice hotel. Nicely appointed room. Comfy bed. Bright and spacious. Will definitely stay there again.
From the moment we entered to the moment we left - everyone was friendly and made sure we felt welcomed. When Brooke noticed my cane, she moved us to a lower floor so I wouldn't have to walk up so many stairs. Food was fantastic and we were always asked if we had time commitments, knowing that many people had theatre tickets. Well done all around.
Well located. Large room. Friendly staff
Great location, good room with Jacuzzi in room(if you like this kind of thing), also shower in bathroom. Good restaurant with great patio out front, only thing - now parking is an extra $15.00 per night, used to be included.
Very comfotable and convenient location. Great staff.
I really enjoyed the boutique nature if the property. Right from the little check-in counter inside the restaurant to coming down from my room at midnight to grab some more wine. Staff were amazing, dinner was fantastic and the rooms were clean and comfortable!
Nice clean room, great location
Great
Great boutique hotel, we stumbled upon gem!
