Kelly's View Motel

The room was clean and comfortable.

Very clean and comfortable.

Dated building with some updates. Clean and convenient from ferry for quick overnight. Bed super comfortable. Can hear neighbours as walls thin. However seems all settled early for road trips.

Great place for an overnight spot. Conveniently on the Trans Canada highway. Great views

All good.

Good

Older motel but clean and comfortable

Very clean and affordable.

Nice property and location.

Very welcoming for our two dogs, even giving suggestions for safe walking with them. Comfortable touches to room and very comfortable bed. Staff made us feel at home.

This motel was very pet friendly and the owners are wonderful. This is an older motel that could do with some fixing up but nothing horrible

Clean room, checking in was a bit of a pain. I wish there were more blankets so I didnt have to turn up the heat and the water was not warm enough. Couldnt really have hot bath or hot shower, it was only warm. Otherwise very cute and clean. A family could easily stay in this room.

The motel

A lovely room very clean!!

The stay was great

Good place to stay

It was good

Small, well run family hotel very convenient to the North Sydney Ferry Terminal. Easy few minute drive to several restaurants nearby. Room was very clean and it was great to be able to drive right to the door

Great place. Clean.

Basic room that was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful

Great for stopover to and from ferry to Nfld. Not a lot of dining options. And if you find one, they close early. But really appreciated this motel.

The staff were super friendly. Room was very nice.

Comfortable, quiet and clean.

A little isolated but close to the attractions. The view around the motel is excellent.

It was ok, spent two nights there but was glad to leave due to the oldness and musty smell.

Small motel with comfortable, clean rooms. Beds were great and ample water pressure. First time staying at Kelly View probably wont be my last.

The property was well managed and clean with a nice view

The staff was wonderful, they let us check in early, helped us with the tv , the property is older , needs upgrades One thing for sure the fan in bathroom works with the light on but during the night getting up using bathroom disturbs others sleeping that should be on its own switch I think with extension cords being used differently the electrical be a priority. The view is beautiful the staff wonderful , we would stay again

La place est très bien. Le personnel est gentil. Téléviseur intelligent. Restaurant fermé, il faut reprendre l'auto.

Great place to stay for the price

The beds were very uncomfortable, the fan in the bathroom wasn't working, the hair dryer didn't work on hot air, convenient to the boat

Clean and cozy motel. The proprietor is very helpful and responsive.

The staff were extra friendly. This was our second time staying there. When we checked in the owner was not in the office. She came to our room the next day to welcome us back. Today as we were getting ready to leave she csme to our room to wish us a safe trip The room was large and had a great view of Kelly's Mountain. Evrn though you are beside a main busy highway, you didn't hear any traffic noise.

Room was very clean and staff was excellent!!

The room was clean and comfortable with good coffee, tea, new tub surround. We heard some sounds from adjacent guests. Pets are welcome. Owners are present asking if you need anything.

Kelly's View Motel was overall clean, conveniently located close to the highway, quiet, and had helpful, friendly staff. My only issue was that my family was placed at the end unit right beside the picnic bench where smoking (cigarettes and cannibis) was allowed. Usually the end unit is more favourable as it should be more quiet with one less set of neighbours. However, because the smoking area was right in front and slightly right of our unit, we were constantly bombarded with cigarette smoke and cannibis. We had to keep our windows closed to prevent the smells from entering our unit. We also couldn't enjoy watching the beautiful sunset that could be seen opposite Kelly's View Motel (hence the name) because of the polluted air (our issue as they can't prevent people from smoking unless they specificially set rigid rules of no smoking on their external property). If the picnic table/smoking area had been placed further away from the motel units (at least the end unit), I would have rated the property 4/5 instead of 3/5.

Beautiful view. Clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff ver accommodating!

I would stay here again. The breakfast included is a mini fridge with snacks so plan to eat elsewhere.

The stay was very pleasant. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The negative things were, there was no air conditioning. No place close to eat at.

Great for an overnight. No local places to eat after 7 pm or before 9 am ( we were warned about this by motel staff so thank you for that). Difficult to find electrical outlets for charging multiple devices. The bathroom fan is really loud.

Great service, clean, quiet.

Very clean property, the rooms were comfortable. The owner was nice and made sure we had everything we needed.

Lovely view. Great parking.

This place was very very clean! Wonderful view of the miuntain

The only negative thing about this location is there's no restaurants to have dinner

The staff were really great and helpful. I loved that they had ice cubes readyand available at no extra acharge. We could back out car right up to our door making it easy to load and unload and come and go during our stay. AC would have been nice, it was a lot day when we arrived and luckily the rain came and the temperatures cooled down in the evening making it an okay temperature for sleeping. We still had to keep the windows open making the noise from the highway more prodominet. It was clean and the mini fridge was cold. If you are there when it's really hot, make a note that a lot of the restaurants in the area close when it is too hot so call before you go to ensure they are open.

It's right on the trans Canads highway so convenient for a rest stop.

Beds were comfy and the owner and her daughter were absolutely lovely. The rooms were very clean and property was well maintained. When the fires caused the trails to be closed in the national park, the owner had a list of things posted on the fridge that guests could do as alternate options to hiking. She gave many great recommendations and suggestions for activities in the area as well. Very helpful. My only recommendation would be to add a few more channels or a streaming service for guests as the tv options were extremely limited which didn’t help us in the evening after we got back from dinner and we were trying to keep the kids busy. Also, an ice machine would be great so guests can get ice during the time when the office is closed like at night. One nice feature though, was the availability of a few breakfast items for purchase in the office. So other than the tv and ice machine, which are small details, it was a lovely stay and a nice property.

Older hotel that’s well taken care of. Clean.

Very clean room. Close to North Sydney Harbour for the ferry. Right off the highway so easy to find. It’s older, but was great for our night stop on our way through.

Beautiful old fashioned motel in a beautiful and convenient spot. A very comfortable and pleasant place to stay.

Was a nice room but my mattress was finished no air-conditioning but friendly staff great shower and really clean

Perfect except the lack of air conditioning

Staff member was friendly and caring....brought treats to our dog! A very comfortable stay, clean room and comfortable bed!!

Great stay

Really friendly staff and the room ,bed was very comfortable and just 15 minutes from NL ferry .

Well situated to drive the Cabot Trail. Friendly

Great place to stay if your looking to do Cabot trail and going to the Sydney area, the rooms were cleaned every day and staff were friendly and recommended a dinner place near by.

Super

Convenient for taking the ferry to Newfoundland. No dining options on the vicinity for late arrivals. I suggest a list of available TV channels be provided to save extensive channel surfing to find anything at all.

Kelly’s View Motel offers a beautiful spot to watch the sunset. The rooms were clean and cozy. The bathrooms are a little outdated, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. I had a great stay and would definitely come back again!

It was absolutely wonderful and the host and staff were amazing.

We enjoyed our stay! Room was clean and comfortable! Staff were very friendly and helpful! Will stay here again on our return trip to the ferry!

Very comfortable stay and staff are very kind, accommodating and polite! Thank you Kelly Motels Team!

The owner was rude and very desperate for customers. Expedia should do better investigating of these properties....we are not living in the dark ages, certain amenities are a necessity especially air conditioning in summer.

Cute little motel. Room was clean and it was in a great location for travelling around the area for a couple of days.

The staffs are very friendly. The room and the bathroom were clean. Unfortunately, it has no air-conditioned. However, the price of the room is very reasonable and the location is very close to ferry harbor.

Great, stay as always. But this time stayed in the middle of a heat wave, and there was no ac. It's the only thing that could be improved upon.

It was a perfect location off the Trans Canada highway and just about a 15km drive from the ferry terminal. Sadly no restaurant. If looking for a place to stay after getting off the ferry or just because your unroute, this place is excellent, just eat before getting off the ferry. The owner is very friendly and prepared to go out of her way for her traveling customers.

Always a relaxing stay

Great service

The property was close to an attraction that I was going to and so was very convenient. The owner was outgoing and friendly. The property was very clean and the owner (relatively recent purchase) explained her plan for improvements. Stayed 2 nights. Would return

The front staff member was super friendly and we had a fast check in experience. Room was clean. Bed wasn’t terribly comfortable and room was very warm at night. It would have been optimal to have sheers on the front window as it was on walkway and people were looking in before we closed curtains for night. We had the room next to the office so there were cars and people chatting until 10 pm.

Owners are wonderful, very nice place to stay. The only faults we could find are that the bed (mattress) is worn out and sags very noticeably and there is no air conditioning

We were greeted by the hotel staff with a big smile and she was very bubbly and friendly. We chatted about our home towns and she told us about great locations in the area for dinner. Checkin was really fast and easy. We got the key and made our was to our room. The rooms cleanliness was exceptional. There wasnt a spec of dust or piece of dirt to be found. The beds were very comfortable. I would 100% recommend this motel to anyone travelling through that area of the province and will stay there again myself if I find myself in the area.

Place was clean, only complaint if I had to pick one is no air condition. But stayed at hottest days great fan but it still was not as good as A/C

This place was the perfect spot for our family to spend the night. Sadly during a heat wave lack of AC meant we were sweating buckets. The staff helped point us to a nearby swimming spot and mechanic for our vehicle. Charming and clean.

Very cost-effective motel

A lovely one night stay while travelling through Nova Scotia. Convenient and close to NFLD ferry.

Owners were amazing. I was exhausted and had a boat behind and we hadn’t eaten. No one would deliver so the owners daughter offered to go get us food and deliver it. Simply amazing , even provided plates. Beautiful spot to rest and relax after a hard days drive.

Nice place showing its age a bit. Could use air conditioning. Not much around it.

Great location. 20 minutes from the ferry. Plug-ins were too high or otherwise not easily accessible. Wifi was spotty much of the time. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Great place...comfortable beds.

Excellent staff. Very nice and welcoming. Let me use the hose to spray off my truck appreciate that

The staff were extremely welcoming.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Easy to find and close to ferry terminal, which is convenient. Friendly owner. Outdoor BBQ and picnic area available for use too!

Great place to stay. Very cozy and staff is very friendly

Staff was very friendly and accompanied.

Good motel near Cabot Trail and Sydney

Very comfortable beds. Great location. Spotty internet.

Cute, clean and very comfortable. The owner, Gerti is an absolute gem and is constantly working to upgrade the property.

Motel is outdated but clean, beds were ok View is amazing!!

Retro motel that’s clean, located in a convenient location just minutes from North Sydney and the Cabot Trail, and with beautiful views of Kelly Mountain. Very friendly owner. For the room itself - there’s a coffee machine with ground coffee and the ceramic mugs were a nice touch. Beds were fine, not too soft and not too hard, but the walls can be thin, especially when someone flushes or runs a shower, which to us was no big deal. Still a bit of work being done, there’s no air conditioning either but late-June wasn’t too bad at all. Perfect place for a one night stay before heading to the ferry.

Host was very friendly and kind, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We were so cozy that we slept in.

Bathroom toilet needs upgraded, ither than thar great bed, room was clean

Petites series de motel (15) bien entretenues. Parfait avant le traversier pour Terre Neuve. Bon rapport qualite prix.

Very quiet area

The room fit our needs, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful. Friendly family. Felt safe
