Tucked away at the very end of a quiet side street in Cenang, so zero traffic noise. The highlight was definitely the cute little monkeys hanging out in the garden.

It is pretty basic and felt a bit deserted during our stay (July seems to be very quiet across all of Langkawi, so maybe it has more atmosphere when full). The nearby beach was not very inviting for a relaxing day, and it was quite a walk in the morning just to grab a quick bite or sandwich for breakfast.

Ac was working well , room was cool all day.

They were so unwelcoming , worst check in experience at all. I didn't want to stay there because of their attitude but reservation was non-refundable. And there is one toilet for the dorm which is so high, because of sitting position my bowel movements got massed up, I had stomachache.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I stayed in 4 bedded dorm, was very comfortable..clean and they also offer excursion for activities with very good price. Scooter was there to rent. Except for first night there was lady ( I think from turkey) who was very annoying and shouting to the staff and made me uneasy. The owner was calm to handle and ask her to not to disturb other guest, finally owner asked her to leave the place cause she was shouting to another guest. Other than this incident everything else was very nice. I will come back again..recommended.

Auberge bien située a 10mn a pied de la plage et de la rue commercante. Chambre de 4 bien climatisée et lit bien isolé avec les rideaux.

Sanitaires dans le couloir avec 1 lavabo, 2 douches, et 1 WC, ca peu être un peu juste si il y a beaucoup de monde.

Väldigt prisvärt hotell, samma priskategori som hostel men utan att dela sovsal/badrum med andra. Framförallt väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam personal!

Chambre propre et basique en rapport avec le prix pour 4 ! Clim fonctionnelle et donc ultra agréable ! Environnement calme et ultra typique de Langkawi. Recommandé pour faire découvrir à ses adolescents un mode de voyage différent de l'hôtel . Je recommande !

Il manque 1 miroir correct dans la salle de bain à hauteur de 1,60m

Outside area looks really cute. The outside walls are painted beautifully. There’s cute chickens and kittens. You can get hot water from a machine at the reception to make your own coffee. The bed linens were comfortable. There was a table and chair in the room. Scooter rental was just 45RM per day. There is no breakfast option at the cottage, but many places nearby. Location is good - just a short walk to the beach.

We have travelled a lot in South-East Asia and know the average standard for the price. This room however was not up to the standard. The walls were dirty, with random holes and hooks. You can see a green patch on the wall where the AC previously was. The window had bars and no view. The bathroom had a creepy dirty big bucket (?) in the corner. The water drain is in the opposite corner of the shower so the whole bathroom gets flooded. The toilet flush button ia very hard to press. The doorframes in the room are so low that my partner hit his head multiple times. Our room didn’t have a fridge, but there is a tiny shared fridge in the corridor. The fridge needs maintenance (defrosting & cleaning). The room was not cleaned during our 1 week stay. We could get new toilet paper and towels from the reception when we asked. The scooter we rented didn’t have either of the back direction lights and the speedometer didn’t work. We are used to the quality of Asian rental scooters, but lights and speedometer are kind of essentials.

Le personnel est accueillant et le lieu très calme et bonne ambiance ! Il est également bien placé pour profiter de la plage et de la bonne ambiance locale !

Je pensais avoir un casier très grand d'après les photos mais je n'ai eu qu'un petit casier à peine assez grand pour un petit ordi portable. Je n'ai pas eu de serviette alors que c'était spécifié que oui (c'est en partie ma faute, je n'ai pas réalisé qu'il devait m'en donner une avant qu'il ne me demande de la rendre). Et pendant toute ma dernière nuit, il n'y avait pas de papier toilette dans les WC car ils ont oublié d'en remettre le soir..

One è il proprietario di questo ostello, è stato gentilissimo e disponibile vi aiuterà con qualunque cosa. L’ostello è immerso nel verde circondato da animali e gatti, io avevo una stanza privata, basic e pulita (mosquito ovunque a parte) Per un soggiorno a langkawi in mezzo alla natura è perfetto!!

Staff are awesome, super helpful, super nice! Booked activities through the accommodation and it was smooth sailing. Free coffee and nice cold water dispenser at the reception. Very cozy and welcoming environment!

Nice place and relaxing place, a bit far from the city center (but still ok by walking). Bed confortable. the AC is very week at it takes a while before it works but after is ok . At the reception you have a water dispender with coffee making facilities with hot and cold water, coffee, sugar, cups, which is a very nice plus

Great location and the manager. He couldn’t do enough for us, helped us with ferries between islands even when we were no longer staying at The Cottage! The number of trips, excursions and other extras they could provide were top notch! Can’t fault the place at all

Perhaps a lick of paint wouldn’t go amiss sometime in the near future? But that really is splitting hairs. Overall we’d happily come back!

Close to everything, beach, food, shopping. Mr. Wan is an awesome host.

Needed some TLC bathroom sink was broken and the light in the bedroom was sparking needed the lamp changed but never got done the door locked but if you jiggled the handle it unlocked

Cleaner name Ali (Pakistan)was very nice person and keep area very clean.

Convenient location, comfortable beds, spacious rooms with outdoor seating areas to eat/chill, easy check-in/out.

Нет гигиены, туалетных пренадлежностей. Нет электрочайника, кофе, чай, воды. Цена явно завышено для номера 7 и 2, где мы жили. Душевая примитивная, не было даже геля для умывания.

Hele relaxte backpackers-plek, op een perfecte locatie. Aan ‘t begin van de winkel/restaurant straat, loopafstand van het strand. Rustige en toch gezellige directe omgeving, soort leuk hostel-gebiedje.

Het is ietwat oubollig en in oude staat.

Prima plekje niet te ver van het strand langs een rustig weggetje met relaxte mensen alles op loopafstand, fijn plekje om te ontbijten heel dicht bij.snel op strand te komen en daar drankje bij zonsondergang daarna is er ergens altijd wel een vuursgow op het strand

Soms wel veel waterscooters bezig op de zee, maar op zich nlll niet heel erg. En een vreselijk lelijk hotel in aanbouw aan andere eind van strand (dus 2km ofzo verderop)

The property is in a lovely location right next to the beach and nice places to eat.

The bedding was a complete mess and disgusting.

The vibe of the place

We asked for a twin room, it was confirmed but we had to share a bed anyway on the first night and move to another room for the second night wich was quite annoying

Rustic, within easy reach of the beaches and eateries. Wan Peter and Ali were very helpful and we booked our excursions through them and rented our bike from them.

Part of the road leading to the cottage is dark at night and could do with more street lightings.

Estaba la habitación un poco sucia, aunque era muy grande y cómoda. Nos quedamos 3 días y no ofrecieron cambiar las toallas, con la humedad nunca llegan a secarse y terminaban oliendo mal.

Recommend taking a grab when the sun sets as it gets quite dark and not many street lights leading to the property.

Quiet location, bikes available for rent, pool table available to use for free and cheap thai resturant at the end of the road which is very convenient for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Also a short walk to the beach (5/10 minutes)

Some of the staff give off a negative vibe and would walk into the room unannounced. I had to ask one to stop walking in without knocking. There is a nice garden area but mainly occupied by them smoking and playing music, unfortunately. The pool table whilst great is immediately outside the dorm rooms and so could be loud. The worst part is that the location is down a long road which is very creepy/dark at night to walk with no lights. We got a grab back each time to avoid having to walk there. It's safe but not very nice to walk alone.

It was a great location. Free filtered water and comfortable beds.

I was put in a room I didn’t book (in a hostel next door) which was fine but not the same as advertised. Also quite expensive compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in (also charged more than originally advertised) but I was there during Eid, which likely made a difference.

Basic but well-located with a helpful team. Very relaxed and good to have scooter hire, laundry etc. on hand, but laundry is a lot cheaper if you walk five minutes into town. Room got very hot during the day despite aircon.

The room had everything you could need and was comfortable and spacious. The common areas were nice, and we're good for socializing with other guests. The location was also superb. Located incredibly close to the beach and various shops.

The location was great. It was clean. The small sitting area in front was nice. The hostel stored our bags for us while we went for lunch and a swim as we were leaving mid afternoon.

The room was very basic which I expected to an extent.

We were really happy with our stay at the cottage! The staff were amazing, so kind and very accommodating. They really went above to help us out. You can book many different activities through them and they even do a laundry service which was extremely helpful!

The owner was great so helpful in every way everyone is very friendly Wan arranged all our trips and booking for ferry and bus Very close to the beach and restaurant which he recommended I hope to come back soon

There could be a few thing done to improve but it is a backpack come guesthouse and it good valve so have not to many bad things to say Would be nice to have breakfast available also some normal bikes to rent

The room was very quiet so I could have a good sleep. The owner of the place is very friendly and helpful. The location is great only a short walk to the main road but far enough from the noise. The beach is a 7min walk.

The room was a bit dark as the only window of the room was facing a corridor that was in between the two houses. So there wasn't much of a natural light.

The location is a little far from city, but it just takes 10 minutes to go there. I like its location. It's very quiet, and provides good sleep.
