We felt like royalty staying at the Ramnee.

No dislikes during my stay

Thai is a lovely building. The welcome was warm, the room large and a bath was a bonus. The breakfast was tasty with great service. Nice free parking outside.

Food & staff in restaurant excellent. Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds.

Very cramped room. Small single beds for 6 foot males. Food prices in Restaurant surprisingly expensive for a small hotel.

The room was a little small but adequate. The bedding was crisp white and spotless. The towels were white and fluffy. Very comfortable bed. Nice view of lawn with picnic tables. My wife and I had an evening meal which was excellent quite large portions. Very friendly and helpful staff.

After the excellent evening meal we expected the breakfast to be of the same standard but we were a bit disappointed with the cooked food. One man at the table beside us found 2 hairs in his breakfast which really put me off.

La struttura mantiene il gusto della sua storia. La mia stanza (209) con vista sul giardino principale aveva un letto comodissimo e un bagno spazioso, con anche il bidet! Colazione efficiente (niente sprechi) e gustosa. Abbiamo anche cenato lì e il ristorante è buono con prezzi nella media.

An old-fashioned hotel providing old-fashioned service; nothing better! The hospitality was exceptional with the owner highly visible throughout our stay and the manager and staff all excellent. As a team they could not have been more helpful; nothing was too much trouble. The room was very comfortable, as was the bar and restaurant. The food was exceptional.

Altehrwürdig, aber heruntergekommen. Nichts! funktioniert auf Angieh!! Über Öffnen der Türen, der Klospülung— was soll ich sagen! Es lebt vobn der Abschreibung.

Weder der Service noch das Frühstüch. Keine Hotelleistungen erkennbar. Unprofessinales Personal.

Breakfast was nice, but could have been served a bit later on a Saturday. Room was lovely, shower pressure was a bit poor. Dinner was very good.

The character of the building, beautiful,stunning and big gardens, the staff were lovely especially Bill the new manager.

There is nothing to not like here, but if I’m to be picky I’d say, the cleanliness needs to be improved, dusty room and leaving near empty toilet rolls out as well as new ones is not what you would expect.

Building was beautiful and our room was very comfortable. The room had an oscillating fan which was fantastic. Bathroom amenities included shampoo/ body wash, conditioner, hand soap, and hand lotion. I was really happy to see this, as most places I've come across in the UK are only offering a shampoo/ body wash. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating, we so appreciated them. Breakfast was delicious and the attendant was very sweet and efficient. The grounds were lovely, we really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the quiet. Would stay there again.

A bar area, we sat in bar/dining area after dinner hours. Was ok but if just wanted a drink during service, a seating area?

Echt Schotse aankleding, goede bedden. Heerlijk gegeten.

Kamer was aan de kleine kant, badkamer oud, matige douche. Ondanks dat er Kamera vrij waren die net waren opgeknapt, gaven ze ons een kamer die nog niet was opgeknapt. We hadden aangegeven dat we hier onze trouwdag wilden vieren, maar daar werd geen enkele aandacht aan besteed. Jammer.

Food was mediocre. I had fish and chips and am pretty sure fish was cooked from frozen. After filling in sheet the previous evening the bacon was ready tough like it had been in the oven for an hour. The breakfast ingredients were not top class although my fried egg was perfect

Our stay was much as expected - a pleasant stay in a country hotel, great location for our plans and facilities matching what we thought value for money.

The hotel has recently changed hands which caused slight problems regarding the payment but the manager seemed satisfied with the explanation and I am sure that this wouldn't happen in the future.

Beautiful location in the centre of Forres

The hotel is in need of modernisation. I stayed in Room 207 and the facilities were outdated and tired. The shower was very noisy and intermittent, the tea/coffee tray was poorly stocked and not refreshed, the room didn't get made up each day and the TV was mounted too high on the wall. I paid £250+ for two nights and felt it was too expensive. This hotel has long had a virtual monopoly in Forres and seems to exploit this.

When I called to say we would not make 2100 hrs check in they were extremely helpful. We were at the back of hotel and the view was stunning when we were having our first cup of tea sat in bed When we asked for assistance with getting our case down they reacted with speed and a smile.

Rooms are extremely dated. Look like they have not been refurbished since the 1980s. Hotel needs some investment to bring it back to its former glory.

Full Scottish Breakfast was magnificent! I had the "Catch of the Day" for dinner, which was both extremely fresh tasting and cooked to perfection. My room had a very comfortable bed and an amazing view.

It was quiet but relaxing but there was 24 hour notice for Festive food and the main restaurant was closed.

Before arriving I inform the hotel about my wife's food intolerances. All the staff were excellent and accommodating of our needs.

It’s a beautiful old building on the edge of town. Rooms spacious, grounds lovely, good spread for breakfast. The staff are all fantastic, really welcoming and accommodating. Great communication. Lovely food in the restaurant for dinner.

Our room needed a bit of painting which they’re planning to do over winter but it didn’t detract from a lovely stay or the character of the hotel.

The bar was very pleasant and the food was lovely.

The very limited menu also the drinks were very expensive. It also came as a shock when 20% vat was added to the whole bill. At no time when booking were we told the cost of the room was excluding vat nor was the food menu. This needs to be addressed as an additional £80 charge was totally unexpected. We use booking.com for most of our travels and haven't come across this before.

Returned and again had a fantastic stay. Friendly efficient staff, comfortable and welcoming surroundings, good food and good value overall.

Bed was two singles pushed together. A Kingsize would have been the icing on the cake.
