Didnt expect that we will be climbing stairs to the unit.

Nous étions au cinquième étage, sans ascenseur, sans avoir été prévenus En autre, le prix est quand même un peu cher

Veldig sentralt beliggenhet. Ok leilighet men VELDIG BRATT trapp opp til leiligheten. Det var to oppredde senger, vi var tre, men det var sengetøy til å slå ut en sovesofa, den var ikke spesielt behagelig å ligge på.

Sovesofa av litt dårlig kvalitet, veldig lang og bratt trapp.

Wir konnten das Gepäck schon vor dem Check-In deponieren. Die Gastgeber waren sofort erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist perfekt an der Royal Mile. Gleich um die Ecke ist das Café Edinburgh, welches leckeres Frühstück serviert.

Durch die zentrale Lage ist es nicht absolut ruhig, aber wir haben trotzdem alle sehr gut geschlafen.

I will start by saying we were only there for one night. The host was very helpful and accommodating. Our room was very clean and had what we needed. The location was phenomenal, walking distance to the train station and the Royal Mile. There is a pub downstairs that we enjoyed. It was a little noisy, but we ran white noise and did not have trouble sleeping.

It was not a problem for us as we are in good physical shape, but the stairs could be challenging for anyone with health issues.

there are lots of small spiralling stairs which are very difficult to get up and down with luggage and are not advertised in the listing, this could cause an issue with people who’ve have accessibility issues / disabilities so should be disclosed. Also note that there are x2 number 5’s on Niddry street one is a black door this one is a green door. The owner wasn’t very friendly when I phoned to say I was having issues accessing the flat, had an attitude and said he would send someone to help and they never showed we waited 15 mins and then went round to the restaurant who also gave us attitude because we couldn’t find the apartment entrance which was not appreciated. If they had simply asked if we were at a green door we would have said no and then The issue would have been resolved, an attitude towards the situation/ speaking to me like I was an idiot was not required. My queries before the stay through messages also required several chasers so improvement is needed in customer service. The tap in the bathroom only provided hot water the cold water tap was not working and the light switch in the room was also broken and difficult to turn on. The sofa beds are also quite uncomfortable so would bear this in mind if you are a bigger group staying here planning to use these.

The narrow spiral stairs up to the flat were precarious. It was hot so we opened windows, but this meant the street noise of the bars kept us up until 4am every night night.

The tv didn’t work/ signal was awful from the aerial and WiFi wasn’t great. Didn’t affect the stay just would have been nice to watch a bit of tv while at the apartment.

Location is great, we came to Edinburgh to watch the military tattoo- and its only 10mins walk from castle.

Niddry street is full of bars and night gets busy and loud. Also outside the apartment there’s a strong smell of smoke & cooking oil.

The location is amazing. Right in the heart of everything. Comfy beds. There was clean bedding and towels, plenty of loo rolls, soap, and tea and coffee supplies. The view and vibe in the area is fun and lively. We had enough crockery and glasses. The shower was hot and lovely.

Four people could not eat at the table, two people would struggle. A pole for opening and closing the ceiling windows is a vital addition for the future. The shower leaks and there is no mop or similar to mop it up. The toilet needs fastening to the wall as it's wobbly as is the seat. There was no way of turning off the bathroom fan which ran constantly. The shower plug hole is loose. The floor in the bathroom is uneven. Whoever cleans needs to spend a little longer, as it is almost clean everywhere but not quite.

The location is amazing.

The lack of elevators make it difficult to carry big suitcases up the stairs.

No elevator, quite noisy at night due to the central location and all the pubs around. Personally I didn't mind any of that but could be an issue for more sensitive people

The location; the hospitality of the management and staff

One of the rooms faces the small square. It was very loud throughout the night.

Right on Royal Mile. Good communication at first. This was our second stay there (split nights around a Highlands tour during the same vacation week), and it was much better the second time.

No dryer. Makes it hard to turn laundry around quickly. Need a good scrubbing ceiling to floors. The bedding and bathroom seem pretty clean. But Light switches and baseboards, door edges, etc need a good scrub.

Guests should be notified of 74 spiral stairs to access accommodation. Extremely dangerous for people in late 70s trying to carry luggage up. No fan in 2nd room and no working shower.

We would have been more comfortable sleeping on street.

So much to list, the WiFi didn’t work so no tv, many plug sockets didn’t work, the place was dirty and items were broken or hanging off the wall. The sofa beds in the living room could not hold sheets due to their design. Light switch in the living room broken and unsafe. No hot water. No lid on the bin in the kitchen. Window pane broken in the bedroom. I have photos of all this. No mention of the access stairs in the listing so was not suitable for limited mobility & a pram/baby. Toilet cistern flush button broken, and the towel rail was broken and hanging loose on the wall. Bathroom tap in the sink was loose and moved when used, plus no drain in the plug hole of the sink. Shelf under the tv was coming off the wall and unsafe, right above one of the sofa beds.

Just off Royal Mile. Clean. Good response from host when I had questions.

It’s above a live music bar that had open mic night until 2am. The sound carried out of the bar doors and echoed off all the sones of the street. Impossible to sleep through, and couldn’t open windows for night air - the noise was so bad.

Right at centre, easy to visit most places, staff were really good.

Not much just had a trouble with WiFi at beginning.

Location was excellent Clean and had a full kitchen and wash machine.

A fan for each room would have been good. Or maybe the one plug in fan for the bedroom and some type of ceiling fan for the main family room.

Het geluid én de geuren van de drukke straat worden niet buiten gehouden. Bussen, auto's, stoplichten, dronken mensen, sirenes en wietlucht. Je ervaart het allemaal tijdens de nacht.

It was not worth the over 1k for the 3 nights. Wasn't very clean floors dirty shower dirty with hair in it. Door had mould Internet was very poor. Only left towels for 3 people and it was a booking for 5

It was 3 flights of stairs up and there was no lift. Be aware if you’re carrying large luggages

Odlična lokacija, v centru, največ 15 min peš do ključnih zanimivosti v mestu. Del apartmaja (okno v kuhinji in kopalnici) gleda na Niddry street, spodaj so pubi, na ulici je pozno v noč zelo živahno in glasno. Nas ni motilo, okna dobro utišajo hrup, vendar bi bilo komu to lahko moteče. Stanovanje je majhno, ampak udobno. Zelo je svetlo in zračno. Ni pa ne žaluzij ne zaves, poleti je zato svetlo do poznega večera in zgodaj zjutraj. Ima dobro opremljeno kuhinjo in pralni stroj. V stavbo se vstopi med dvema deloma puba, kar je zanimivo predvsem zvečer, ko je spodaj veliko žurerjev. Apartma je v 4. nadstropju z ozkim zavitim stopniščem. Nam je bilo to všeč, lahko pa komu predstavlja težavo. V dnevni sobi sta 2 raztegljiva kavča, vsak na cca 120 cm širine, kar lahko služi kot 2 enojni postelji ali, če ju zložite skupaj, kot zakonska postelja.

Vsekakor smo pogrešali boljšo čistočo. Vse kozarce, krožnike in pribor je bilo treba pred uporabo pomiti, saj so bili zamazani. Omarice in kljuke na vratih so bile prav tako umazane, lepljive, podobnontla v kuhinji. Imeli smo občutek, kot bi bila posteljnina za spanje na kavču že uporabljena. Pogrešali smo kljukice za obešanje vetrovk in jaken ter police za čevlje. Med našim obiskom je veliko pršel dež, jakne in čevlji so bili vlažni, pa jih ni kam obesiti. Prav tako manjka obešalnikov za brisače v kopalnici, sta samo 2, ni obešalnika za brisačo za roke ob umivalniku. Dobrodošle bi bile žaluzije ali zavese.

Lots of stairs- winding skinny steps up to the apartment. The apartment was clean and beautiful.

There is a club open all night connected to the pizza place, the apartments are on top. It was nice and quiet when going to bed around 10, until the band cranked up- then it was LOUD.

Not clean - broken things. No set of safety ladder/ stairs on 5th floor. Only one chair and tiny makeshift table for 4 guests. Very difficult to find.

the condition of the accommodation was significantly below the standard advertised. Upon arrival, the apartment was dirty, had unpleasant odors, and showed an overall level of cleanliness and maintenance that was unacceptable. In particular, we found dirty bed sheets and pillows, which I consider a serious issue and completely inconsistent with the minimum standards of hospitality. The common areas of the building, including the stairways, were also dirty and in a poor state of repair, creating a general impression of neglect and lack of proper maintenance. Furthermore, the sofa bed advertised in the listing was not a real sofa bed but rather two makeshift sleeping arrangements that were extremely uncomfortable and significantly affected the quality of our stay and our ability to rest properly. The conditions we encountered were very different from what could reasonably be expected based on the listing and the information provided at the time of booking.

Excellent location, right in the city center and close to main tourist attractions. The apartment is spacious and nicely decorated, with a kitchen equipped with utensils. Pros: - Central location - Spacious and decorated apartment - Equipped kitchen

We had some issues during our stay. Bed bug infestation behind the double bed was a big hassle. We informed the owner, but didn't get a satisfactory response, just an offer of refund. We expected a more adequate solution, like relocation to a better hotel. Cleaning also left something to be desired, with kitchen cupboards and areas behind beds dirty. Cons: - Bed bug infestation - Inadequate cleaning Overall, wouldn't recommend due to the issues faced. Hope the owner takes steps to improve service quality.

Location and facilities

Only problems was id booked the accommodation for 7 people but there was only 2x 3 seater sofas which meant one person sat on floor or stool. Also there was just 1 key as lock recently changed. We need 2 keys as the group separated for run. We were lucky to know the person in another flat who took the key to let us back in

Very poor internet signal, hallway has a funky smell, intercom does not work so if you're a group someone has to go downstairs to let you in.

It's actually a very nice apartment, in a nice location, with a beautiful view of a small square in the historic center. It has two small bedrooms with comfortable beds. The kitchen equipment was sufficient. The apartment was warm enough.

Incredible noise at night, couldn't sleep until 4am. We didn't believe the previous reviews where this was mentioned. We were hoping it would be quieter in winter and on weekdays. Hot water only in the shower. Washbasin and sink with cold water only. The couch was unsuitable for sleeping. Slatted, uneven, hard. The noise at night was the biggest problem.

If you want to stay in a room full of bed bugs and deal with an impolite and irresponsible host, go ahead and book this place. Otherwise, stay FAR AWAY. We found multiple bed bugs crawling on the beds in multiple rooms. When we reported it, the host saw the bugs with his own eyes, but instead of taking responsibility, he crushed one and said, “Nothing but an ash!” He completely denied the issue. To make it worse, he told us to leave immediately and refused to give any refund, leaving us stranded without proper accommodation. Not only is this place infested, but the host is also shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful and insane enough to crush bedbugs between his fingers. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Avoid this listing at all costs. DO NOT BOOK THIS APARTMENT!!

The pizza place to collect key was right around the corner. Had to wait a bit after I called them.

Would be better if the amount of twisty stairs was shared rather than no lift. Light bulbs need to be installed. A fan needs to be included for the hot days. No circulation of air!

Located in the heart of the old town, it was easy to walk around and explore the beautiful city and many surrounding dining options. It felt authentic climbing the stairs and staying in an old building. It was a tidy enough apartment that would have been comfortable for two single travellers with access to a small kitchen, fridge and living area.

The advertisement failed to acknowledge the steep and exhausting flights of stairs up to the apartments on the very top floor. I’d booked for 4 adults and arrived in a room with only two made up single beds. Upon messaging the contact, I was directed to find bedding in the wardrobe for a DIY bed - unprofessional and slack considering the price paid for FOUR ADULTS. When folding down the futon, the crease was lined with crumbs and other dirt. Yuck! One of the twin beds in the room had questionable stains on the lower frame and the mattresses sagged in the middle. The toilet felt unstable to sit on and the shower drain cap wasn’t locked in either. There were a number of small service / cleanliness changes that could have been made to improve this accommodation.

Great location, did have two bars underneath though noise from these wasn’t an issue. Was more the noise from bus stops on window outside. We had a family of 7 staying with 4 adults and had more room than I was expecting. Any issues were responded to and dealt with quickly. More things for cooking in kitchen would be helpful.
