Very nice self service breakfast buffet. All clean and tidy
The hotel is located in the old town of Lille. First, the good thighs: excellent staff. Very friendly and helpful. I got an early breakfast with a full selection of delicious food, as I needed to leave early. My single-bed room was just opposite the elevator and loud from all sides. Also, all guests using the elevator or steps were to hear clearly. The ceiling creaked when guests walked above me, it was to hear all the flushing of the rooms around, and also from the outside, the street noises were loud till 1 a.m. The shower is suitable for thin guests only, as the entrance to it is very narrow. However, for a night to sleep over due to the general strike in France, it was just fine.
Personnel accueillant.
clean and convence,
Wonderful stylish boutique hotel. Close to the centre and 5 minutes walk to the train station.
Capitati ultimo piano, molto caldo senza aria condizionata né frigobar.
I normally love the Brughel, the staff and the feel of the hotel are generally excellent. This time I had a noisy room, lots of intrusive water noise from drains from showers and WC's in floors above. Ive stayed before but room 103 was a problem.
Great location, interesting decor. Very small dining area breakfast a bit chaotic
Very charming hotel with lovely front desk staff. Room was a twin room for my son and I and it was perfect. Not big (as expected) but it served our needs! Minutes from the train station which was perfect!
Perfect room and barhroom for price except lack of AC. Great surroundings.
The hotel room was comfortable and relaxing. Please note, that this hotel does not have a restaurant or a bar as advertised, infact the receptionist told us, it hasn't had a bar for many years. The hotel is very near to the town, so restaurants can be reached very quickly. This area is busy and can become noisy during the evenings and night times. Lille is a walkable city and because we walked everywhere managed to have good night sleeps.
Bonjour.
Centraal, rustig gelegen hotel. Receptie altijd bemand.
Overall the hotel is fine. The toilet is located in small closet. Bed was wonderful and is literally a couple minute walk from Flanders station. Lots of dinning options. Can be noisy outside and no air conditioning. It gets warm in hotel even on cool days. If you have the window open there is a lot of noise all hours. Great dinning and location.
Great location and a easy walk from the train station. Very charming place and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and plentiful
Impeccable à tous les niveaux
very central and clean place can only recommend
Reasonably priced, lovely shower and location was perfect for Euro Lille and local attractions. Bathroom was quite small, but adequate.
very comfy and clean room - and great location. Beds very comfy. Also it was nice and warm and you could also open the windows. Staff very friendly. Breakfast excellent - very pleased we booked for that too.
Very convenient location and an attractive hotel. Nice front desk team and reasonably priced breakfast.
The hotel was ‘quirky’ - lots of ephemera around - pictures, ornaments etc. But that is why we chose it.The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The lift was from an another era, but in a good way. The breakfast was ok. It was situated within walking distance of the main tourist destinations.
We loved this charming place. It was a great location, the staff was wonderful, and it has an elevator—tiny, but it was great not to have to walk our luggage up several flights of stairs. We would definitely stay there again.
Very nice hotel in perfect location. Close to main street. Really like our room 608 and friendly staff. Thanks for all advises. Hope see you again soon.
Lovely little hotel in the historic centre of Lille. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room itself comfortable and clean (superior double). If like me you don't like the anonymity of the big chains, this characterful three star is a perfect solution.
Great location
Close to both railway stations which while it is convenient there are a few beggars to contend with. I am a solo traveller and I did not feel overly concerned as there was a large security or police presence. Room clean bed comfortable.
Lovely old place with a classic cage elevator. Friendly desk crew happy to look after bags before and after stay. Great location and just minutes from Eurostar and even less from Lille Flanders, but beware the riff-raff in the neighborhood.
The property is very well licated in thebheartbof the historic centre. The property offers very clean, large and nice rooms. Perfect for longer stays. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Conveniently central. All facilities up to date and immaculate in a historic setting. Particularly impressed with the old lift and its caged doors. Straight from Maigret
It was ok. Very central location which was good.
Great location for stopover when using Lille Europe or Lille Flanders, very easy walk from both. Welcoming, comfortable and the room we had gave a great view of the St Maurice church tower from the bed and the bathroom!
A charming hotel in an excellent location in Lille. Lovely, friendly staff. Comfortable bed.
The hotel was convenient to walk to from the Eurostar station. It was easy to get to the main square for the Christmas market. Breakfast was good though there was a selection of cafes not too far away in which to get a café and croissant. The room was small. There wasn’t much room to get in and out of the bed. The bathroom was large and airy.
A lovely little hotel very convenient for Le Grand Place and Christmas market. Room was small with a small bed that had a too hard mattress on it. Good breakfast buffet
This is a fantastic hotel in the rich tradition of European hotels. The public spaces are comfortable and welcoming, there were several couples playing card or board games upon our arrival. The Staff are very good, very helpful and always ready to offer directions or suggestions. The location is ideal, close to the main square, shopping and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and very clean.
It’s a very competitively priced boutiques hotel, as they say in politically correct English. The location is good, and the staff is supper friendly, but if you are looking for more convenience and better amenities, I would choose something else.
A winner in location and friendly service! I would definitely stay with them again if I return to Lille! Clean and eased my worries about the recent bed bugs news. I had a good rest which was the goal of this trip! Thank you for having me!
Check in was a little uncomfortable as we were told that we owed for two nights even though we had already paid for one. We weren’t given any information ie Wi-Fi code etc no breakfast included even though it was a hyped price due to rugby World Cup time
Lovely old traditional hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful, especially Claire on reception who helped me to book in earlier than normal.
Fabulous stay with a beautiful view. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thank you for our stay
Very nice staff and very helpful. The only drawback is no air conditioning which can be really an issue on a hot day
Excellent location close to stations and the old part of town Friendly, helpful staff Large, airy room and newly renovated bathroom - couldn't fault the facilities Would definitely recommend
Beautiful old charm hotel, wooden floor in the room, view of the cafedral from the room on the 3rd floor, nice big windows. Comfy big bed. Very good simple french breakfast.
This is a wonderful old Art Neuveau place, well-maintained, updated as to plumbing, etc., and featuring a vintage elevator that gets you and your luggage where you're going. We had a view if St. Maurice (next door,) that couldn't be beat, and found that everything we needed was close by in the shopping streets and shady squares of Lille.
Wonderful friendly hotel in traditional building next to fabulous church, right in centre of Lille. Delicious breakfast. A vibrant area, with sounds of local life.
There were seven of us staying in Lille at The Bruegel hotel all having separate rooms. The check in was very good and efficient. The Bruegel hotel is well situated in the city only a 10 minute walk from the Eurostar station and easy access to the metro. There is plenty to do in Lille, shopping, sightseeing the Palais de beaux arts is well worth a visit. Lastly, there are many restaurants so there is no need to go hungry.
Average 3 star hotel, clean, very helpful friendly staff and good breakfast. The rooms are small we asked for a change of rooms because of late night noise at the church side of the hotel, this was dealt with by staff with very well by hotel staff. All said a comfortable city centre hotel.
First, the bad. This hotel is very basic in what a hotel is supposed to offer: a place to store your belongings, to sleep for the night, and to maintain oneself (bathing, toilet, etc.). This hotel provides these things, but only just enough to pass. For example, there's a bed, but no headboard. There's a shower, but barely enough room to turn around. There's a desk, but it's tiny. As I said, the basics are all there, but it's all just barely passing. Another negative are the thin walls. You can hear others in the rooms above and adjacent. For me, it wasn't so bad during the day when everyone is out and about, but you could hear everything. This can be problematic if you're a light sleeper. A final negative is the wifi. I could only connect one device at a time, so I had to choose between my phone and my laptop. But now let's get to the good stuff. The first thing is the location. This hotel is literally in the middle of it all. As soon as you step outside, you could go any direction and you'll be on your way to the sights and sounds of the city. This hotel is one block from where the "main" action is in Lille, and about a 10 minute walk to Vieux Lille. Next is the staff. The people who work at this hotel are absolutely wonderful. They're very welcoming and friendly. With 62 rooms, I was impressed that they remembered who I was and what room I was in. So, in all, if you're just using your room as a place to store your stuff, sleep, and shower, this hotel is a great choice.
We had a nice stay last weekend. The checkin was very efficient, all of the staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. Our only issue is that you can hear other guests very clearly in the hallway at all times of day and night. Otherwise, it is comfy and great location for getting around Lille.
Most expensive hotel of our 3 week trip and smallest room. Also tiniest lift I've ever seen.
Although the rooms are small they are clean and enough for a few nights stay. Would have liked a kettle but plenty of cafes around instead. The hotel is in a fantastic position with all the town easy to access by foot.
Staff was excellent Location is perfect Just needs to put a refrigerator and a safe in the room Install a curtain for the shower And shower holder for the water flow Otherwise all was good Otherwise all was perfectly
All we needed for the weekend was within easy walking distance of the hotel and the Eurostar station was a ten minute walk on pedestrian only streets. A very quaint old hotel with some modernisation. Standard rooms are small but OK if you’re not spending a lot of time there.
Quaint. Well located. We were able to walk to the Palais Beaux Arts. Small, working lift, but steep stairs. Small rooms. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Very pleasant place, and centrally located in the town. Quite small, a little quirky - tiny lift for instance. Staff on reception very welcoming. Rooms fine but not exactly huge. We had a "superior" room - our friends standard rooms were quite small. We did find on the last day that ours had a damp patch behind the bed where water was seeping though the outside wall, which was making the pillows damp - we did report this, but it wasn't good. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon. Pleasant breakfast, although the buffet area was crowded and the tables rather squeezed in. One of the staff on breakfast duty could do with a little training on developing a welcoming attitude! But it wasn't a big deal. Overall, it was quite good value. I'd be happy to recommend and to return.
We stayed at rue ghee hotel for 3 nights for a long weekend in Lille. It is very well located being very close to the Vieux Lille, the restaurants and the sightseeings. Our room was facing the square and it was warm, so with the window opened it an get noisy. Most staff were welcoming but not all! Hotel has a old charm but rooms could benefit from a refurbishment especially the bathrooms.
Lovely, old fashioned hotel with excellent, helpful staff. Very convenient location. Ongoing building works, directly outside of the hotel, were very loud and disruptive. The hotel could have informed us before our arrival. The hotel is in a pedestrian area, direct from the station and is very noisy through the day and night.
Not my usual sort of hotel to stay in but worked out pretty good. The only thing was the noise of bathroom plumbing from other rooms seemed very loud!
Very charming hotel. Very good (French) breakfast = delicious bread & croissants. It was a small inconvenience that there was only a bath, not a shower. My fault - should have checked it before. Environment (streets) are very noisy during evening/night : so, bring your ear plugs.
The hotel is charming. Staff is nice. However ... when we arrived, the hotel had no reservation for us... They could not find our booking.. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed but very very tiny. The bed was stuck between the walls. A bit tricky when you are claustrophobic ! Bathroom is lovely but very very small with no door : zero privacy and not pleasant to shower when the other person is watching tv or sleeps! Good point : separate toilets. There was no wardrobe, zero space to put luggage. We had to ask for another shower towel as there was only one. I think this bedroom is intended for only 1 people, not a couple. They sold it as a double but i wouldn’t say it's a double.
Everything one was very nice!! It was as uf "Yes, Oui" was the only word they knew!
Hotel was in a great location, well managed, helpful staff. Room was just very hot and noisy.
Great value and location, though not quite as nice as the pictures make it look. Also, they have some kind of mosquito infestation; I was severely bit up at night and saw a swarm in the hallway the next day.
Not worth it. Good location but small, dirty and very noisy. Avoid it.
Comfortable friendly Hotel with character and charm. Some of the rooms are a different layout to others so you may wish to look at a couple before agreeing to the room. Spotlessly clean and lovely staff
Lovely short break in a lovely historic building
comfortable, warm and convenient for a night or two but hardly in the wow category. Still, it is only a three star, so good value for money
Warm & comfortable. Excellent location. Shame the rain hits the zinc trim around the roof - we were on the top floor - & was thus very noisy outside the window during the night. The hotel was not to blame for the couple in the next door room who had a blazing argument until 6am one morning; true, they were French, but that is not an authentic holiday experience one would relish.
Very good location, clean and well organised, good value for money.
We arrived to find a film crew occupying the foyer so had to fight through a crowd of actors to check in. They were making a mini-series about Charles De Gaulle who was born in Lille. It was all good humoured and we got a key quickly and took the (ancient) lift to floor 6. The room was quite small and the shower cramped but they were clean and modern. It was OK for one night.hey
Good choice! Old Skool, central, laid back, friendly
My friend and I stayed here 2 nights. The twin room we had was horribly small so to provide enough room we had to purchase a second room. That small? Yes
It was centrally located and a nice chic hotel. Very nice !
The only issue was that when we woke up the ceiling was full of mosquitos and they had been snacking on us during the night. Lovely staff and great location.
Located within easy walking distance of both train stations. Three minute walk to Grand Place. The hotel was comfortably old fashioned. No air conditioning (despite Hotel.com claiming it had it) Our first night was very hot and they had run out of fans. The lovely lady at the reception was kind enough to give up the one she was using. All staff were genuinely friendly, helpful people. Not the phoney kind of “I say the right thing because I’m trained to” robots working front desks of many large hotels.
This property is in an excellent location for all the sight-seeing you're likely to do and very comfortable. It was however quite noisy during what was a hot weekend which needed windows open, so that should be borne in mind. Breakfast ingredients superior to other hotels I've stayed in but not the greatest value for money at 11 euros - 10 would 'sound' better!
Hotel Brueghel was in a great location, close to all shops, restaurants and bars. Everything is in easy walking distance so was nice just walking around taking in the culture. We had a twin room which was snug but cute and had everything we needed for a few days stay. We had a small bath with a shower attachment which was fine but maybe not ideal if you like your showers. Towels were changed every day. Lille was a great place to visit and this hotel was a good choice for ease, location and also the price.
Location Welcome Cleaness Warm and simple atmosphere in the rooms
The view is amazing and the staff is wonderful. Thank you!
It’s exactly what expected at this price point - and the location is very convenient for a first trip to Lille.
Perfect location in centre but a quiet street so not noisy at night. Hotel staff were really nice & very helpful. Room comfortable, clean & smart
Quaint hotel near historic district; lots of restaurants and shops.
Nice hotel close to train and the old city staff was kind and the room were clean and comptable
Enjoyed the hotel and appreciated the bath. The view of the church roof from our window added to our satisfaction.
