The staff very very nice

Es war sehr ruhig und entspannend dort, was im Gegensatz zur lauten Medina wirklich erholsam war. Außerdem war unser zimmer mit privater Dachterasse ein echtes Highlight. Sehr süß waren die zwei Hauskatzen. Und hat der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen. Außerdem mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen.

Non ho soggiornato personalmente nella struttura. E’ stato il regalo di compleanno per il Mio Compagno e sua Figlia. Sono rimasti, entusiasti dello Staff. Mi hanno detto: che il personale è stato molto, molto gentile e disponibile. Non hanno fatto mancare nemmeno dolcetto e candelina all’arrivo in camera la sera del 10. Complimenti Complimenti

Riad Massiba gives a very authentic riad (Moroccan center-courtyard mansion) and Medina (old, walled city) experience, with extreme privacy, safety, and hospitality, yet it is close enough to the edge of the Medina that most taxis and some smaller vans will come directly to the door. The proprietor and staff are wonderful, kind, and very generous people. The home-made breakfasts are awesome, and we regret having to miss the last one to catch an early flight out of Marrakech (must check in at airport 3-4 hours early). Optional private dinners are excellent, more than any guests can eat, and rival the nearby restaurants, at a much better price. Rooms are clean and cool, with both good AC and natural (open-window) cooling if you prefer. Baths and showers were a pleasure. A great toilet and a lovely tiled sink. But most importantly for me, our stay was a very authentic riad experience - ancient wood/iron/brick/plaster/brass - animals in the courtyard (birds, bees, a friendly cat) - a single small, anonymous but heavy old door leading from a dusty street into a small private garden surrounded by actual rooms that movies try to recreate.

I liked everything, but I must caution those who *think* they want the authentic riad experience, but can't actually handle true, historical Moroccan charm. The riad is a bit like living in an Indiana Jones movie. For example, having Moroccan breakfast (Ahmed's mint tea was the best I had anywhere) in an open courtyard means you will shoo away a few flies, and if you hate cats, then you won't love the adorable Siamese. But a few honeybees come to lick the edge of the plate on some days, or make a dash for the croissant crumbs - a few birds always stop by and sing - and you may even get to have a semi-private dinner with remarkable people from another country on a similar trip. This is a different experience from the hotel roof-top fashion-show drinking scene - which is also great, but that's another world. If you're headed out for a desert camping trip, with a camel-ride and other desert activities, or you enjoy wandering the crowded souks and talking to merchants, then I suspect that you will love Riad Massiba. It's very clean, and extremely well-kept, but it's old, it's natural, and it's just real. I personally found it to be the experience of a lifetime. But I caution those who spray pesticides on everything, and who always prefer stainless steel over beautifully aged brassworks, that this is probably not the place for you. A hotel would be a better choice.

This is the only Riad we have ever stayed in, so we have nothing to compare to... but we were not disappointed in the slightest. Ahmed and his wife (I presume, and unfortunately we never learnt her name) were friendly, welcoming and helpful... even when we were well over an hour delayed arriving, our "welcome meal" was still presented at 9pm (and was delicious). The room was amazing, the bed was big and very comfortable... the courtyard was beautiful and cool, even when it was 33°C on the street. It's just a short walk to the start of the souks, and the moped madness of Marrakesh... you can get to Jemaa el-Fnaa (the main square) in 10 minutes. Oh, and you can't forget Gizmo... one of two house cats (the other is very timid, and we didn't learn her name) And finally, nothing to do with the Riad but a personal recommendation if this is your first time to Marrakech... do a "street food tour" early in your trip. We did one with a guide called Abdo (look on tripadviser or viator) and it was around £17pp inc food. It gives you places to go back to, and a feel for the area.

Nothing worth mentioning

Un véritable havre de paix au cœur de la médina de Marrakech. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été séduits par le calme et l’atmosphère apaisante du lieu, loin de l’agitation extérieure. Le riad est impeccablement propre, décoré avec goût et très bien entretenu. La literie est excellente, garantissant des nuits reposantes après une journée de découverte. Le petit déjeuner est un vrai moment de plaisir : copieux, varié et composé de produits frais, servis sur la terrasse dans un cadre magnifique. Le personnel est chaleureux, attentif et toujours disponible. Une adresse que je recommande vivement pour un séjour authentique et relaxant à Marrakech.

Un peu froid la nuit

Очень приятные и милые хозяева и обслуживание. Отличное месторасположение. Есть напротив рияда большой платный паркинг, так что отлично для туристов, путешествующих на машине. Нам хозяин без проблем организовал трансфер до аэропрта за 15 евро.

Завтраки. Но это потому что мы привыкли к другим завтракам. Здесь были одни булки, лепешки, сок, кофе, чай и джемы. Хотелось омлет и мясного чего-нибудь. Но так во всем Марокко.

Pas grand chose

On n’a vraiment pas aimé notre experience. Le Riad est très sommaire, les photos de booking le mettent bien plus en valeur qu’il ne l’est. la terrasse sur le toit est fermé, l’espace commun est minuscule, pas d’eau chaude après une seule douche, les chats du Riad miaulent comme des perdus et se bagarrent, pas de petit dej avant 8h30… Bref un gros flop… encore plus pour le prix.

We had a great stay in this riad, which was a located few minutes walk from the main tourist streets. There are two car parking lots just nearby. Manager Mr. Ahmed is a very polite and assistive gentleman. Our room was on ground level right next to the inner garden. Room was spacious clean and quiet. One can close the windows with lids on the inner side and block any light, which was nice.

Shower in the rooms may benefit some improvement - shower head was missing the holder so you can't mount it on the bathroom wall. Another thing - some brighter light-bulbs might be a good idea, because in the evening light in the rooms was pretty dim.

Nette kamer, zeer schoon, er werd elke dag gepoetst. Mohammed was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Goed ontbijt. Een goede uitvalbasis, dichtbij de Medina. Alles te voet gedaan.

One small suggestion: it would be great if there were an option for a to-go breakfast for guests who need to check out early. We had to leave very early and unfortunately couldn’t enjoy the breakfast the second day. Some other places we stayed offered a simple takeaway breakfast for early departures, and it would be a nice addition here as well.

Le riad est magnifique, la terrasse au dessus est vraiment très agréable. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux. Nos hôtes étaient très disponible tout en étant très discret. Le riad est très bien situé car proche a pied des souk et place Jamel efna mais dans une rue assez éloigné pour se détacher de toute l'agitation

La terraza de la habitación está muy bien y es muy bonito. Pero tiene mejor puntuación de lo que realmente es.

El desayuno bastante sencillo, no está tan bien ubicado, está retirado y la habitación muy fría.

Wir hatten das Zimmer mit privater Dachterasse, was absolut toll war. Man konnte super in der Sonne entspannen und der lauten Medina perfekt entkommen. Das Frühstück war super lecker und man konnte selbst entscheiden an welchem Tag man es zu welcher Uhrzeit haben möchte. Es war alles total sauber und es wurde jeden morgen während dem Frühstück geputzt sowie Handtücher gewechselt. Allgemein waren die Vermieter total nett und zuvorkommend. Alles super!

Nous avons séjourné cinq jours au Riad Massiba et tout était parfait. Le séjour a été super du début à la fin. L’accueil a été exceptionnel, chaleureux et attentionné. Le riad est très bien situé au cœur de la médina, ce qui permet de tout faire facilement à pied. Nous recommandons cet établissement sans hésitation.

Al Riad deberían darle una reforma, el olor a humedad es fuerte, la habitación no tiene ventilación es muy sombria, las camas individuales de la habitación triple no son cómodas, son muy pequeñas y con un colchón que diríamos es una colchoneta. El baño también necesita reformas, las tuberías hacen mala olor.

Desayuno muy completo en zona privada para la familia incluso con calefacción (hacía fresco en diciembre a las mañanas). Muy cómodo. En menos de 10 minutos estás dando un paseo en la plaza principal El Fna.

No hubo nada que no me gustara. Quizás lo único que la llave de la habitación iba un poco mal y costaba abrirla, pero nada grave.

El personal muy amable. Tuvimos una estancia perfecta, como si estuviéramos en casa. El desayuno muy bueno. Sales por la puerta y en 6 minutos estás en el centro de la medina.

Nous avons absolument tout aimé dans ce riad. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse incroyable, toujours attentionné et aux petits soins. Le petit déjeuner est préparé avec beaucoup de soin, servi dans une ambiance calme et sans aucune pression. Le riad est un véritable cocon, très paisible, où l’on se sent presque seuls tant le calme est appréciable. La localisation est idéale, à moins de 10 minutes du souk.

Honnêtement, rien à signaler. Tout était parfait pour un séjour en couple.

La disponibilità dello staff,la cortesia verso l’ospite e dalle foto sembra più grande ma é un riad curato con attenzione dallo staff,ci hanno permesso d restare oltre l’orario del check out. Per chi leggesse la questione delle camere che nn si chiudono,la nostra quella con il terrazzo privato aveva tutte le chiavi e lucchetti ma non che ce ne fosse bisogno,ma per una questione di tranquillità si può star sereni.

The suite we had booked was occupied when we arrived so we were given a much smaller room. The gentleman who welcomed us could not explain why there had been a mix up and told us to contact the owner. We tried to contact him by phone, email and via Booking.com message but got no response. After a couple of hours we left and found another riad and applied for a redund via Booking.com. This was issued later but with no explanation or apology. Not a great start to our holiday!

Check in and breakfasts were all excellent. Ahamed is delightful, very helpful, considerate and softly spoken. The Raid is very beautiful, clean and spacious and oozes authentic charm and history. Well located a short walk away from the Main Square. Would highly recommend.

Πολύ όμορφος χώρος, το δωμάτιο πολύ άνετο και πεντακάθαρο με όλες τις παροχές. Πολύ ευγενικός ο κύριος που μας υποδέχθηκε το βραδυ που φτάσαμε! Σε πολύ κοντινή απόσταση απο το κέντρο και τα souks.

Step in off the street into an oasis of calm, in a riad with only four rooms that really feels like a family home. Excellent location in the Medina just a few minutes walk from Jemaa el Fnaa, the souks and main sights. We happily came back from sightseeing to spend a couple of hours mid-afternoon, playing cards and relaxing in the central courtyard before going out again in the evening. Lovely family room overlooking the courtyard. Friendly staff and friendly cats.

L’hôte est sympathique, le Riad authentique sans dénué de charmes, bien placé par rapport à la place Jamaa-el-fna.

Un peu plus de lumière dans la chambre permettrait de mieux profiter de la décoration très plaisante.

Anreise mit dem Auto: Vorsicht mit dem Navi! Leider ist die Anfahrt mit dem Auto und Google Maps etwas problematisch. Obwohl das Gasthaus nur etwa 150 Meter von einer Hauptstraße entfernt liegt und es mehrere Parkmöglichkeiten gibt, wurde ich durch die Navigation sehr schlecht geleitet. Mein Verbesserungsvorschlag: Eine kleine Skizze oder eine einfache Wegbeschreibung auf der Webseite bzw. in der Buchungsbestätigung wäre sehr hilfreich! So könnte man stressfreier anreisen, indem man das Navi in der letzten Meile ignoriert und sich nach der einfachen Wegbeschreibung richtet.

Heerlijke Riad op een prima locatie aan de rand van de medina. Het dakterras was een oase van rust in de drukke stad. Het ontbijt was uitstekend verzorgd. Heel vriendelijke gastheer.

El personal era muy amable, nos recibieron con un rico te de menta y nos atendieron muy bien.

Un par de noches tuvimos un olor muy hediondo en la habitacion que nos nos permitia dormir. Le avisamos al encargado y lo solucionó y nos comentó que hacer si volvía a pasar.
