Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The location is very private and small-scale compared to other places nearby. The staff are incredibly kind and provide outstanding hospitality. Every day, the entire team works hard to keep the property beautiful and spotless. The swimming pool is excellent, and the breakfast is delicious, with great attention paid to dietary requirements. They really make the difference.
All good. During our stay, we were actually wondering about the number of local visitors who come here to stay and have photoshoots. It seems to be quite a popular spot for local photoshoots, which was interesting to see.
View swimming pool friendly staff clean spacious
Lots of photo shoots going on near the pool
Very friendly staff and a great location, food was excellent especially breakfast, 2 swimming pools, a very relaxing place
Excellent accommodation and staff - always helpful. Good food and the restaurant & Bar was situated facing the beach. Very relaxing ambience.
Vriendelijke staf, echt heel mooi resort. Erg rustig.
De ligging, het strand is minder mooi. Veel last van erosie.
Everything except the beach was gone
The beach was gone
Lage Sauber Service
Best place to stay if you need to get some rest and do nothing but enjoy the swimming pools Room was gorgeous, breakfast delicious and a high-quality staff always ready to help
The bedding is not the best
The location, the staff and the food and the pool.
The room should be ronovated and the madras was not good.
Breakfast was the best in vietnam! Restaurant food was great overall. Lovely villas You can rent the bike at the reception
The beach itself is not suitable for swimming. However the pool area is very nice with plenty of sunbeds

Great location - middle of 'the strip', close to nice restaurants; good restaurant with a nice breakfast choice (off menu); garden room next to back pool was ideal to relax while kiddies swam. Staff were very lovely too.
Stayed in 2 different rooms (pool view and sea view) - pool view was much nicer IMO - more spacious and access to pool, sea view didn't have much of a sea view!
contact vooraf was super.
Beautiful gardens and pool.
Spacious and clean.
It is a very nice place to stay, quiet, not crowded
Everything was great
The staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly, nothing was too much. The rooms were impeccable, cleaned daily. Anything we needed they were so accomodating. The beautiful staff at the restaurant made breakfast such a joy. The pools, the sea, the smiles. Such a fabulous place. We will definitely be back.
Nothing!!

Tolle Pools, tolle Sicht aufs Meer.

Super cozy hotel, with two pools near the sea. Big rooms with balcony and amazing staff
I enjoyed the time at the resort, the staff was friendly, property is very clean, dinning area was great and other options around the hotel to eat, rental of motor scooter is reasonable. Only problem I have is when I booked the room, description and picture said full beach view. The staff said it is not true, only partial beach view is available. Other than that it was a nice stay.
The infinity pool and staff at the restaurant were incredible! The bathroom was clean and the poolside lounge chairs were new and comfortable
The smaller pool was too warm. Not refreshing in the heat. Lots of bugs and the beds were really uncomfortable. The property looked a lot nicer in the photos
Loved the property
It was just perfect days of fool relaxation. 2 swimming pool areas, one on the close area, second one just in front of the sea. Very beautiful, cozy, boutique hotel with friendly service. If you want quite vacation it will be perfect stay. Out of the hotel you will find different restaurants, bars, mini golf club, life music. During days you can swim, enjoy sea and sun.
The location and staff were amazing!
We visited Sunsea resort for the New Year celebration period 2024, based on a recommendation from a friend. Normally we would never book a three start hotel, but this was amazing. Fantastic food, great staff and a very relaxing boutique hotel area. The new year menu and celebration was great and the staff were wonderful. Great memories!
The bedding was small for two single beds. The mosquitoes were a worry although we didn’t have a problem.
This is my fourth visit. i really like the hotel and its helpful friendly team. Lovely pool. Will definitely come back again and always recommend it to friends
Every time we come, there is always some kind of renovation going on at the hotel, a bit noisy. Also this time they only gave one shampoo and shower gel for two people, looked a bit cheap for such a great place
The inclusive breakfast was exceptionally good value, there was so much food. The staff were brilliant and really friendly. The pool area was beautiful and relaxing.
The beach was not very accessible and the beach in the surrounding area isn’t clean. The food at the hotel was ok and expensive; we had better and cheaper food in restaurants elsewhere.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Sunsea Hotel. It’s a charming, intimate resort featuring two stunning pools. The on-site restaurant offers a delicious à la carte breakfast included in the room rate, along with a diverse menu for lunch and dinner. The seafront pool provides beautiful views of the ocean. Our room, with a lovely outdoor seating area, overlooked the second pool near the entrance. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the hotel is impeccably maintained. The resort is located in a fantastic part of town, surrounded by a variety of restaurants, shops, and spas. We highly recommend Sunsea Resort!
Luxury rooms, delicious food, fantastic staff and top class swimming pool. 1 minute walk from King of Sandwich, an eatery well worth trying.
1. Beautiful and Quiet Environment: The resort feels very private, and guests don’t see or disturb each other. It’s almost as if you have the entire place to yourself. 2. Unique Accommodations: Each room or bungalow has its charm—whether it’s a sea view, proximity to one of the two swimming pools, or a hammock in the garden. 3. Helpful Staff: The staff is wonderful, always ready to assist with motorbike rentals, taxis, and transfers. Their service adds to the overall positive experience. 4. Beach Access: There’s a small, clean beach on the property, perfect for relaxing. While the resort's beach can disappear during high tide due to its narrowness, you can easily walk to larger beaches nearby. In Vietnam, beaches are communal and within walking distance, so you can explore different ones daily. 5. Comfortable Rooms: The rooms are thoughtfully designed with comfortable beds, a good shower with hot water, and a private terrace with sunbeds and outdoor furniture for chilling. 6. Peaceful Swimming Pools: The two pools are well-maintained, never crowded, and more than sufficient for the limited number of guests (there are likely fewer than 20 rooms in total). 7. Breakfast: Breakfast is generous, with plenty of variety to suit all tastes, even if it leans toward Vietnamese style. It’s never overcrowded, so mornings are always calm and pleasant.
The small recommendations above are just minor details to perfect an already great experience: 1) Full-Length Mirror: Adding a long mirror in the rooms would be a great touch, especially for female guests. 2) Upgrade Hair Dryer. This seems to be a common issue in Vietnamese hotels, but it would be nice to have a more powerful and functional option. 3) Sockets: The electrical sockets could be updated to better accommodate European plugs. It wasn’t a major issue, but an upgrade would enhance convenience.
Sunsea Resort was a spectacular hotel experience. At first we were a little concerned by the 3 stars but we got the hotel recommended through a friend who repeatedly stated how amazing this hotel was, and they were right! We first arrived on the 28th of December to welcoming staff and spacious rooms with many amenities, our room was right by the pool and had a small terrace, which created a fantastic setting every morning and night. The hotel has a regular pool and an infinity pool overlooking the most magical of views of Mui Ne and the turquoise water. The hotel staff is extremely welcoming with the staff being extremely attentive to your needs, we even got help with the tour of what Mui Ne has to offer through a waitress at the restaurant who I believe was called Truc. The breakfast was A La Cart style creating a much better experience than these crowded hotel buffets. The flavours at the restaurant Sukhothai were immense and delicious and we thought it was by far the best restaurant in the area. We visited other hotel resturants in the area but none had the same service and food standard. I definitely recommend Sunsea resort to anyone who wants a calming and nice experience when visiting Mui Ne.
Breakfast a la carte (ie no buffet) but excellent choice.
Bathroom floor slightly slippery. Additional hooks always useful. (Towels don't need to be put on floor). A desk and a chair would make the toom petfect😀
On my third visit, the beach was damaged a lot when I came last year, but this year, it was clean by building a shaft. It is a resort where I want to come and rest often because of the beautiful beach.
The breakfast was awesome, the best ommelette I've had in a long time, with hot crispy buns, fresh fruit juices, crepes for desert, etc. The staff are very polite and friendly and keep the grounds immaculate. Our rooms were modernly furnished and were functional, we enjoyed the pool access. The two pools are clean and very functional, one is great for swimming laps, and the other has a jacuzzi. The location is convenient, with kite surfing schools, restaurants, shopping and clubs nearby.
The beach in front of the hotel is public, and therefore not cleaned by the hotel. As such, there isn't much the hotel management can do about it, but the occasional plastic bags in the water and various trash on the beach made it less inviting so I opted for the swimming pool most of the time.
Quiet, super clean, beautiful, with attentive and friendly staff.
It’s not about the property but the beach has receded over the past few years which means it’s a short walk out of the property to actually be on the beach. My partner and I had a bottle of champagne and were told off by the staff for having it at the beach area deckchairs.
Delightful resort, beautifully kept and an oasis of calm. This hotel extends from the main road down to the beach, not very big, the whole complex around 35m wide and no more than 100m from the road to the beach. The entrance from the road takes you through reception to the first accommodation block of 6 apartments on the ground floor with 3 double apartments on the upper floor. The rooms, even the standard pool view are well appointed with everything you'd expect to find. WiFi works well in the room, not much storage space, we lived out of the suitcases while we were there. We stayed in the first apartment on the ground floor, stepping through the patio doors leads you to the pool with a jacuzzi, the on/off switch for which is decidedly dodgy being rather like consumer unit circuit breaker. You do not want to be reaching in there with a wet hand. The second apartment block has 3 ground floor apartments and a single treble apartment on the upper floor. There a 4 further luxury huts for a total of 17 units. In front of the huts in a 2nd infinity pool, bizarrely the only steps into the pool are at the deep end. The restaurant adjacent to the infinity pool has a great selection of reasonably priced meals. In front of the restaurant is a sandy area with a tables, chairs and loungers and steps down to what is left of the beach. Not sure what happened to the beach shown in some of the images but the sea now comes right up to the sea wall at the end of the hotel. Whether the original beach was artificial and has been washed away or it's been lost to rising sea levels who can say? Whatever the reason the beach ain't there now. At the time of our stay there as very low room occupancy, had a very eerie feel to the place, however we'd had a chaotic 2 weeks in Vietnam and it was nice to have 3 or 4 days relaxing to round off our holiday. Although called a resort there is nothing else on site other than that mentioned above, you won't find entertainment, spa, shops or any of the other things one might expect at a resort. Outside the main road is awash with bars and restaurants if you fancy an evening out of the resort. A charming hotel, Chup in the restaurant is the standout member of staff.
Amazing value for money Very nice staff, great food at the restaurant, pool is so nice, room was very clean
Excellent breakfast and until 10.30! Good location and facilities well maintained.
Beach was under construction but that they had to do. That was also clearly mentioned when doing booking.
Small and very warm feeling
The beach is gone, such a pity there is no space left between the restaurant and the beach, not the hotel problem but let’s blame on Global Warming
Such a beautiful boutique resort. Two stunning pools, the restaurant by the beach for meals, breakfast was included and it was amazing. Staff were great, so kind and helpful. The rooms were extremely comfortable and very clean. Highly recommend, will definitely be back, we loved our 4night stay immensely
Everything was just easy. Had nothing to be concerned about and everything just worked. There's nothing better than having no fuss when you need a break and have your 2 year old with you.
Not the most comfortable bed (for me personally) unfortunately. Also, one or 2 holes in the fitted sheets.
The Thai food is lovely, both pools are great and the staff are super nice.
The beach has washed away a fair bit so we spent more time by the pool than on the beach.
Wonderful small and charming resort. Very good breakfast and restaurant with very good service. The best of it, it is so quiet - no animation, no loud music, best for some relaxed days.
The sight from the hotel is perfect, but when you look back from the beach you can see that the see is washing away the beach over a long distance. We hope for saving this wonderful area and the cocotrees.
Good design and nice staff 😊👌👍
This accommodation should have an air conditioner zone at the restaurant because it's hot city.
We bring our son here for lunch and have been told that we not allowed to access the sea. So if you not book a room here, and want to dip into the sea while having a drink or lunch, dinner, .... you better go elsewhere with the owner who doesn’t think that they own the sea!
I rarely write bad reviews as I understand things can go wrong sometimes. But this poorly-managed property really pissed me off and I have to make an exception. I had a reservation for one night on August 5. Since last week, I’ve been emailing back and forth with the customer-service people of Sunsea resort about my booking cancellation due to the Covid 19 pandemic. However, they refused to issue the refund and I was told the only option is to postpone our stay with additional charges. The ridiculous reason given was that Phan Thiet is safer than Ho Chi Minh city! I called and asked to speak to the General Manager but they said he cannnot speak English??!!! While every other major hotel announced newly flexible cancellation terms, even for " non- refundable" , Sunsea try to charge me for additional fee that I dont want to pay. I can't think of any single reason to stay at this property until they offer me a satisfied arrangement.
We had a wonderful (yet too short) stay at Sunsea Resort. The bungalow was amazing! Very clean and nicely organized. The staff made our experience even better from the care, passion and service they provided us. Their attention to detail was pretty impressive and I would like to particularly thank Miss Trcu from Reception (I hope your leg feels better) and Miss Truc from the restaurant. We miss you both dearly and can’t wait to come back!
Neither of us are fans of the large chain hotels. So Sunsea seemed to fit the bill. How wrong we were. It didn’t fit the bill it was the real thing. Small, intimate quietly and understatedly luxurious and cosy at the same time. The staff were all lovely, patient and attentive. The grounds impeccable We had an ocean view cottage with a big jacuzzi in its own private courtyard. What a treat. Breakfast each day was spectacular. The restaurant and bar I have reviewed separately served some of the nicest food we have had in Vietnam. Would we return? We are more sorry to leave this place than can be described. So yes. In a heartbeat. We will return in numbers next time :).
I had a lovely stay at Sunsea resort in December 2019. We rented a villa with ocean view and it was super nice, clean and felt luxurious. The staff was great and helped us directly if there were any questions, and we appreciated that the pool area was private for the hotel guests. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who want a relaxing vacation :)
We had a bungalow with sea view. Great room, very clean. The staff was super helpful and very nice especially Choo. Breakfast is included and very good. The view is amazing and the location is great. Highly recommend it.
Myself and a group of friends stayed at the Sunsea Resort for four nights earlier this month. The location was perfect, short walk to lots of good bars, restaurants and spas and a very short taxi ride from others. The resort has one of the best spots on the beach, nice and quiet with not too much footfall. We could have spent weeks here! The size of the resort is perfect, nice and private and as it is set off the main road and very peaceful. The service we received from arriving to checking out was 1st class, everyone was very helpful from the reception staff to the housekeepers and everyone we encountered was very friendly and always happy to help. We had breakfast everyday of our stay and it was brilliant. There was a wide variety of options available and the view from the restaurant over the beach was amazing and a great start to the day. We had two pool view rooms, both rooms were very comfortable, spacious, clean and equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and fresh water and towels supplied. The resort is extremely clean and well maintained, although there was still building work going on it didn’t impact our stay at all. Both pool areas was lovely and clean and our favourite had to be the infinity pool which was a great wee spot to relax with brilliant views of the beach and great service from the bar. I couldn’t believe the resort is 3*, the facilities and the service we received during our stay were definitely 4* plus! We really enjoyed our stay at the Sunsea resort and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Mui Ne.
Probably the fifth time we stayed here. Beautiful and richly appointed bungalows and rooms. Warm and friendly staff. Great beachfront location. And excellent food and wine selection. The best part - affordable and reasonable .....
Terrific one week stay at Sunsea Resort, Mui Ne. The rooms, although not spacious, are quite comfortable and the gardens and surrounds are extremely well maintained. Sunsea probably enjoys one of the best beach locations in Mui Ne. The outstanding highlights though are the Sukhothai Resturant and the pools. Hard to imagine a better setting for a restaurant and a great menu selection and quality of food. The beachside infinity pool is ‘to dream for’ and the garden pool, right outside your door is welcoming and refreshing. Didn’t venture into other Mui Ne restaurants or resorts because we were so content at Sunsea. No hesitation in recommending Sunsea Resort to any prospective visitors to Mui Ne.
We were due to spend 12 days at a resort we’ve stayed at for our last two holidays in Mui Ne but due to a change of owners and management we found things not quite as friendly as we were used to, subsequently we checked out after only two nights. After some research via TripAdvisor we wandered into Sunsea and after an inspection of the property we were amazed at the layout of the resort and the room we were shown ( garden view executive room) so we checked in for the next ten nights, couldn’t be happier with the service at reception. Everything about the place was first class, as our good friends at Vietjourney said once “ five star property at four star price”. We met the owner one evening after a wonderful dinner at the Sukhothai restaurant and he explained his philosophy on how he achieved such a peaceful ambience throughout the resort and it’s all about “harmony” he said, well I can certainly tell you it shows through the staffs attitude and the way the property’s maintained. Couldn’t recommend this resort enough, small enough to have that personal touch but big enough not to be overcrowded. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Mui ne.
Had planned to spend 12 nights at Mui Ne at a resort we had stayed at twice before. However a change of ownership and management had altered the whole ambience and environment of the resort. After two nights we had had enough and ended up inspecting rooms at Sunsea. What a great find, fabulous value for money and very peaceful and quiet. Great attention to detail and everything immaculate. Food at the restaurant was delicious and fresh with the prices quite reasonable for a resort. However, there is easy access to nearby local vendors and small restaurants where the food is cheaper. During our 10 nights at Sunsea we felt as if we were the only guests there, as the resort is planned in such a way as to provide privacy for guests. We were lucky enough to meet the owner on our last night and he shared his philosophy of providing harmony and peacefulness in the resort, an aim that was certainly achieved. Would not hesitate to go back again next year.
We had a pool view suite overlooking the pool. The Rome was very large, beautifully laid out, comfortable with a huge soaker tub and rain shower. The resort was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. While it fronted main street it was extremely quiet, the beach was lovely and the sunrises were awesome. We have been travelling SE Asia for 22 years and this is the best we haver ever encountered. Breakfast is from a menu with excellent choices including some of the best pho ba. Staff were wonderful. This place is 5 star all the way in our opinion. We previously stayed at the Mia Mui Ne and the sunsea has it beat hands down and is considerably cheaper,
Nice quiet hotel with few guests. Has 2 outdoor pools and is located directly by the ocean. At the same time is in the middle of the village, so there are many restaurants and shops nearby. Pool view suite is very spacious room with big balcony and big bathroom. Has a good clean beach infront of the hotel, probably the best part of the beach. As the beach in one end is rocky and dirty infront of the big hotels and the other half has no sand at all, has only large plastic bags that protect the beach from waves. Negative is that the staff does not understand english. And prices in the restaurants are 3x higher, then in the restaurants on the street. If the difference had been a little smaller, we would have eaten in the hotel restaurant, the atmosphere was very cozy, but not for that money.
The Sunsea is a smaller but one of the more private and intimate resorts along the strip. Reception was very nice and our check-in was accompanied with complimentary welcome drinks. The room was the best part of the stay. We stayed in private pool-view cottage/villa/hut (there are only four of them) which overlooked the ocean. It was beautiful - you will feel as if you’re in some amazing tropical paradise. The room was very spacious! The TV came with Netflix which is a plus! The bathroom was huge! And it came with a free-standing outdoor bathtub which looked beautiful! The breakfast menu was also quite good. I cannot fault their pho - no joke it is some of the best pho i have ever tried!
