Nice Area.
Hotel is dated
Warm comfortable and fresh could not be better
Good location and nice room
Staff a bit clinical and seems very revenue focused
Area is good
There is no lift to other rooms. We had to drag lots of bags to third floor and no one to help. No phones in rooms so we have to walk to the reception if we needed help.
Nice bar area, good location and very friendly staff. Dinner was very nice in the bar, breakfast was pretty standard but good.
Room felt pretty tired ie mouldy silicone in the bathroom, extractor fan in bathroom didn’t really work so got very steamy. Bed was okay not the most comfortable.
Room wasn't finished cleaning, But was given key, dirty cups and rubbish obviously the side, faeces down the toilet but overall stay was quiet and very comfortable, lovely lively place to eat and drink in Alderley Edge
Radiator needs painting, alot of scrapes and bumps on walls and doors, cleaning needs to be brought up to standard, plugs are too close to desk so cant actually plug anything in there but there are various orher points
Quiet location, very good breakfast
Bedroom a bit small
Very poor if you don’t like bacon and sausages
The room stank of bleach and I had to be moved to another room
Excellent location. Breakfast was not great. Small quantities of fresh fruit, pastries yoghurts which ran out quickly in a very small enclosed area. Caused queuing! Main course was cold! Chaffing dishes were not on! Poor coffee! Special coffees were extra!
Friendly staff Nice location
Wifi didn't work Black mold on the net curtains No room service.
Nice hotel in a good location with easy access to Alderley Edge’s Main Street. Comfortable , if small, room. Good range of menu items.
Service in the restaurant was a bit slow… appeared to be understaffed. Some of our food was lovely but my main course was inedible ( dry, overcooked chicken and undercooked flatbread). The waiter was apologetic and did not charge for the dish.
Great location and hood car park.
Bit run of the mill, chaotic rooms lay out. Bring a ball of string. Breakfast mediocre. All a bit tired.
Close to village
It was all great
Location great, lots of parking, decor was really nice and staff were friendly
Our room was really dirty, dust everywhere and when I went to make a coffee there’s was water in the coffee machine that must have been there fireworks as it was yellow and had all mouldy bits stuck to it
Not a lot
Fire alarm went off at 6:10 in morning we got up dressed and out and there was nobody about to say everything was fine so we just got in car and left very poor
staff very helpful
rooms tiny and very dated fire alarms went off four times in the early hours of sunday morning, no apology, no mention of it all next morning. all four times obviously false alarms. stressful with elderly parents and children staying with us, and really annoying after a very late night after a wedding and long drive ahead that day
a few mistakes with dinner service
Staff wer amazing
The location
Its tired,, needs upgrading
Staff, super friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and very clean with efficient shower and really lovely pillows! Would 100% return if back in the area.
There was nothing I didn’t like!
Location is great, great staff
Small room, price is high compared to room size
Location
Gorgeous property
The house next door doing very loud building work at 7:30am on a Sunday - ruined my precious lie in and spoilt it for us :(
Lovely hotel and surroundings. Close to the town centre. Beautiful ser menu which was high quality and good value. Excellent location for Manchester airport which was a short drive.
The staff were absolutely wonderful and made me feel genuinely cared for. The bed was extremely comfortable, and although the room was quite small, it was cosy and had everything I needed. I especially appreciated this because my suitcase had not arrived. I also arrived very late, and after calling ahead to check if I could still get food, the staff member at the restaurant was incredibly kind and took excellent care of me. The whole hotel felt peaceful, warm and welcoming.
Breakfast was okay, but I would have appreciated some healthier bread options and a better selection of fresh vegetables.
The team is fantastic
The room was lovely
The woman on reception was unfriendly. I was asked to pay additionally for cappuccino at breakfast which is unreasonable given the price of the room
Great location within walking distance of the village Aimee the lady who originally spoke to us when we phoned was absolutely lovely
It didn’t have air con The view from Room 5 was awful but as we were only there for one night it wasn’t important to us. The windows were open in the bedroom as it was warm but the sills and surroundings around the window were rather dirty.
Location was easy to find. Nice property. The staff was really good and helpful. Room was clean and available earlier than expected. There was a fan provided in the room as the weather was warm and there is no air conditioning
The power sockets in the room were oddly placed. The ones at the work table were so low that you could not plug in any device without acutely kinking the cable. For the breakfast I wanted vegetarian breakfast without vegan sausages. I wanted the omelette instead of sausages. It eventually arrived but with vegan sausages minus hash brown. I think the lady could be more attentive as there was only one more couple who had already been served
The receptionist was exceptionally helpful and polite. She carries herself with grace and respect towards all,she served the last customer as the first. She was professional and yet caring and compassionate, I couldn't have asked for a better service.
At the bar the young men too, were great by practicing gentility towards customers, being cautious, respectful and yet professional. One of them rectified his mistake promptly and swiftly and yet apologetically that exceeded my perception hard to come by now a days. He was excellent.
Position perfect, great room massive bed wonderful staff, good breakfast.
Dinner in restaurant was average at best , bathroom had overpowering smell of bleach and tv did not work.
None of the Windows in our bedroom could open on arrival. One window had a broken pane of glass crack inside it. Shower hose was split Water waste blocked & slowly over spilt from Shower tray. Spent almost an hour trying to open one of the windows. Fans were all dusty Not helpful when we had an infant staying with us. I reported to the reception Saturday afternoon, evening and on check out. Nothing was done correct situation. Nor was there any suggestion from the hotel staff in providing a partial refund for the inconvenience.
Lovely breakfast

Unsere Zimmer mit der Verbindungstür fanden wir sehr praktisch und schön. Das Essen war auch sehr gut.
Die Tische im Restaurant waren nicht sauber geputzt, es klebten die Gläser am Tisch.
Oh how times change. Firstly it is a nice hotel and the food was nice. However it’s not what it used to be. 35 yrs ago yesterday we had our wedding at this hotel so we always go back on every big anniversary to celebrate. I was so disappointed this year. I phoned to book and explained the circumstances and I didn’t get a single ‘ oh congratulations or even a ‘ oh that’s nice ‘ . Then when we arrived I was really disappointed to find there is no fine dining anymore which I was really looking forward to. Again my sister ordered Champagne to be put on ice when they arrived and explained why and again no enthusiasm for the occasion by the waitresses. The menu was limited and I really wasn’t feeling a burger or fish and chips but managed a steak which was good, I admit. It’s just such a shame that all the staff nowadays are young kids who have no idea about making people or events feel special. We might aswell have been at any other restaurant anywhere in the village. We used to be made to feel special but def not now. Will we be back for our 40 th wedding anniversary ? Definitely not. Times have changed but not always for the good. Will prob go to San Carlo next time, whilst Italian, at least they have staff that know what the service industry is about. Sad times.
Good location - clean well presented. Nice staff
It was one of hottest days/nights and our room was at very top of hotel. It only had small windows that didn’t open fully and there was only a small fan that didn’t work properly to help cool room. It was a little uncomfortable but room was clean and comfortable bed.
The breakfast was exceptional and the staff were very attentive.
Bien placé, chambres bien, bon petit dej
Bedrooms are small, clean and comfortable with when arranged bathrooms and good shower
Wifi constantly dropped in and out, so was unable to work in bedroom
Lovely hotel with nice grounds and within walking distance of Alderly Edge shops and cafes. The breakfast was fantastic, with lots of choice and the staff very attentive. We dined in the restaurant for dinner and they had some great deals on the meals and, bearing in mind where the hotel is located, reasonable prices, and the food itself was delicious. Great staff and a very relaxed atmosphere.
It’s just a small thing but there were no draws for small items in the bedroom.
Staff very welcoming, warm and polite, lovely place, would recommend. Nice village in very close proximity
We enjoyed a delicious lunch. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed. Excellent service and our dog was made very welcome too. Highly recommend!
excellent service, nothing too trouble, lunch perfect . We hired small meeting room which was laid out with refreshments and white boards/projector. Would definitely recommend and will be using this again in the future
Beautiful attention to detail, very clean all around the hotels and the garden is so peaceful and quiet
The property itself is beautiful inside and out.. hot breakfast was a little disappointing undercooked sausages and the beans had a funny taste
Great location, lovely staff
The only negative was the temperature of the room. Very hot and only two small windows to open. Fans were provided
Quality hotel well refurbished
Room was hot but fans were provided
Lovely area close to the village and cricket club. Staff were lovely . The hotel is very dated and would benefit from some investment to bring it up to date . The outside space is very overgrown and needs landscaping. The room was cleanish bed comfy . The weather was super hot as was the room temperature. Two fans supplied with little relief. Not worth the £200 paid ( excluding breakfast). Would not return. My evening meal was not as stated on the menu . The whole hotel is need of refurbishment .
Excellent management of our function from start to finish. Beautifully laid out dinning facility, & attentive service. Delicious food prepared & served immaculately.
Breakfast
Rooms are over priced, expecting luxury rooms when they are quite basic
Food was good. Service a bit strange, I expected to be able to self serve.
Staff all excellent
Cooked items on breakfast menu poor. Overnight noise from kitchen ventilation system beneath room window . Disturbed sleep.
Not much really .
I try to look for positives but we stayed in this hotel a few times over the years and it just doesn't meet expectations, never mind 4 star expectations. I find the staff generally complacent or surly despite trying to be polite and respectful. Perhaps this time it was the abnormally hot weather, or wedding fatigue but sometimes you wonder who is giving who the service A desk chair in the room might have been best found in a skip than kept in the room. Surely it was obvious it should be tracked with a torn cover in several places. I hate to give a bad review because I celebrate good service and ambience. And there are of course some good staff working tirelessly to make the difference. But I now just won't stay there again. The food was also not anything to write home about. This is not a four star hotel. Three stars out there blast it out the water.
Location great
Room was far too hot and no aircon Room was a decent size but had a small bed it could easily have fitted a bigger bed.
Location
Far too hot
Receptionist was very friendly. Very good breakfast and good waiting on staff
Room location, top floor. Despite paying full price for this hotel, the room was extremely warm and looked untidy in parts. The biscuits had been eaten (present by staff) as wrappers were in the bin (didn’t want them but it’s the principle) bed was small and bathroom smelt slightly mouldy so overall disappointing given the price I paid
The receptionist went above and beyond and made me feel like I was at home . Great asset to your Hotel
Nothing
Being a heat wave day, before booking I enquired on whether the restaurant was cooled by air conditioning. I was assured that it was and so completed the booking. On arrival I discovered that I had been misled and there was no air conditioning in the restaurant! We were offered the opportunity to celebrate our "occasion" in the, rather less smart, bar area which was air conditioned but quite inappropriate. We declined. The first course was named as "Prawn Cocktail" yet whilst the "prawns" were generous in quantity, individually they were quite small so that they could easily have been mistaken for shrimps. They were also watery and lacking in taste which was not compensated by the accompanying pink sauce served, I assume, as a cheaper substitute for a rich "Marie Rose" sauce. I had earlier ordered a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet and in its absence I had to leave the table and my starter in a search for it. The main course of Sea Bass could not be faulted in its preparation, presentation and taste. Yet questions still arose regarding the size of the portions of sea bass and the need to order, and pay extra for, supplementary common vegetables to complete the plate. On having earlier being asked if we required water on the table, we requested simple "tap" water. It never arrived. I ordered an ice cream desert for safety and we declined coffee.
Like going to stay with your family - cozy friendly
Nothing
So convenient Very nice dining options Very close to lots of lovely walks including to the Edge, and near Wizard’s tearoom. Also lots of other lovely cafes and restaurants close by. Good for trips to Derbyshire and all over Cheshire. Very convenient for mainline station to London/ Manchester Piccadilly
The heat, but there’s not much that can be done about that in this weather. Although, if shutters were fixed on the outside of the windows, like in France, it would be so much better and no need for electric fans or to install air conditioning. The paintwork outside our room really needs attention as it is rotten and needs replaced then painted. The difficulty is getting access to the windows over the glass room of the dining room but it will have to be done sooner than later. Hire a man with a cherry picker!
Unfortunately filthy. Can understand a little wear snd tear but not filth! see photos. Also safe not working or repaired after asking. No air conditioning so ridik hot. No need for blaring piped music into the back garden - which was empty- on a Sunday evening. Could be s really charming place but needs love. Had a family lunch on a Saturday whilst a Wedding was going on and it was chaotic. All can be forgiven but not filth !
How lovely the staff were, the location and cleanliness of the hotel
Nothing
room and location
the waether!!
Breakfast, location and staff all good.
Room quite small and very hot. Fan made little difference.
Location
The building was pretty/ well thought out space/ lovely breakfast area and room. Staff were attentive, friendly, helpful and really kind. I would go back if I was in Cheshire again. Lovely few days in a beautiful surrounding. Great location..

Nice enough hotel
Room 10 - some sort of sink or drain issue - every 10 minutes throughout the night, a loud rush of water came down and made it hard to sleep
Great location and friendly staff
Room was dark, blind was broken, leather on the chair torn and walls so thin could hear the conversation going on next door
Nice vibe
All good
Hotel and area surrounding is nice. High street around the corner is beautiful. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Housekeeping very accommodating.
Desk fan but No air conditioning. Stains on bedsheet and a random finger (or toe) nail on the bedside table
Very comfortable and obliging staff
Nil
The restaurant and evening meal was excellent, breakfast too was very good. Relaxed and comfortable restaurant room.
The bathroom was a bit tight and a little tired. The bedroom was however comfortable and had good facilities.
Excellent breakfast Very helpful and friendly staff Good location to go out and about
Room was smaller than expected and the lay out was tight
The hotel itself is beautiful and very charming. It has a lovely bar, restaurant and outdoor garden. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful and were really lovely.
The bathroom in the room we stayed in could do with a some desperate changes. The bath, tiles and shower head had lots of marks and rust stains on them. There were body hairs in the bath which put me off having a bath or a shower. The water in the sink had draining problems. The towels smelt musty. The bedroom was ok but has no air conditioning. It had a cheap desk fan which really was abysmal. We stayed on a very hot day/night, we struggled to sleep and ended up having a long and uncomfortable night. It’s a shame as the hotel is in a great location and looks very charming from the outside, in the bars and had a lovely garden. I think if they made some much needed improvements in the room/bathrooms it would be perfect.
Great location and excellent service. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only downsides were that during hot days it’s hard to properly ventilate the room due to the small windows, and access with luggage can be challenging because of the stairs and no elevator.
A really nice one night stay
Location was perfect, hotel has good facilities and staff were very attentive and polite. Will definitely be back.
Very little to be honest.
A quaint, old hotel in the heart of this tiny Cheshire village. The interior has been modernised to a high standard and all comforts are provided. There’s Wi-Fi, TV and tea making facilities in the room. It was a little on the small side and, as it was a warm night, felt a little stuffy with no air con I could find. The bathroom was luxurious and a hearty breakfast was provided. A lovely stay.
The food thr bed was comfortable and slept lovelt in it, ensuite shower was really big and condiments in the room was good
The room wasnt very spacious and very pushed together so not enough room to walk round the views outside werent that great onlooked rubbish wires old table and stairs and looked like a dumping ground
Lovely place. Great room. Comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent shower. The breakfast was great and the breakfast manager was really helpful and friendly. Great way to finish off the stay
Best hotel we have stopped at in a while, the rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. The hotel itself was in a beautiful setting, and the staff very accommodating to your every need. The hotel was peaceful and no noise at night time. Short walk from all of the bars and restaurants. We will be returning
Really disappointed with a hotel that has oozed style and sophistication for so many years to now be mismanaged. Beautiful building, lovely bar. Adequate restaurant. Room vary greatly. Some staff are fabulous - Emily on Reception, Mille in the restaurant, Andy at breakfast and Justin [Night manager/Bar/ Restaurant]. The other staff need to match up. Generally all very polite. Some have great experience however they need to understand that what makes one person happy does not necessarily please the rest! They are after all in the hospitality business. Attitudes by some need refreshing to come across as less aggressive and less negative. All house keeping staff need to be retrained to the same level. Those that we experienced - Not making beds, not clearing away dirty glasses, not vacuuming - leaving dead wasps on the floor, other peoples hair all over the bathroom, not replacing used towels, not replacing toilet rolls, not checking rooms when guests have left - leaving other peoples dirty knickers in cupboards for new guests to find and deal with!! Disgusting. And at £600 for a suite - not an appropriate level of service. Dinner - food needs to be as stated on the menu. Ingredients need to be present! Do not try to defrost prawns and serve them in 10 minutes! Steaks - please stop coating them in black pepper and salt. These are on the tables for a reason. Seasoning is one thing. This is not the same. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Trout should be trimmed. Salad is not a handful of leaves. Menu was adequate. Starters were generally very good. Better selection of mains needed. Wine list was good. Pricing was good. Breakfast. £12 - shouldn’t be more than this regardless of where you book. A simple selection but varied. Good continental options along with yogurts, cereals, granola, fruit juices, varied breads. Cooked Breakfast is abysmal. Staff were wonderful but cold cooked breakfast is never something anyone should endure. Get rid of the buffet. Cook

BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE.
NO HALAL OPTION .
I’ve stayed in more than 35 hotels over the last 12 months, but the Alderley Edge Hotel comfortably takes the crown for the untidiest of the lot. On arrival in our room, we were greeted to skid marks in the loo; the next day the room was tidied so badly we could only laugh, particularly with the way the bed had been made (it was re-done later that day); the second night a pile of wet towels was left on the half landing outside our room and was still there the next morning. On the final day, I popped into the downstairs gents just before breakfast, and it looked as if a bomb had gone off in it. I politely raised all of this with the receptionist on our departure. She agreed it wasn’t right and said that she would speak to the manager. She also encouraged me to fill out the feedback questionnaire which I did later that day. A week on, I’ve yet to receive any formal acknowledgement from the hotel bar an automated thank you and not one, not two but four further feedback questionnaires. For close to £1,000 for two rooms for three nights B&B, the Alderley Edge Hotel isn’t cheap and, simply, must do better.
Location was good
Check-in was quick and simple, with directions to room given. The room itself, was very clean and lived up to the executive room type, with lovely decor and furnishings. The amenities were spot on, coffee machine, tea tray with lovely biscuits. Bed was big and very comfy, pillows were great. Breakfast was very tasty with a good selection and tge service was fantastic. Overall a great stay, thanks.
Great place for business meetings , lovely room . Great facilities and fabulous food throughout the day . Very hospitable

Good continental options along with yogurts, cereals, granola, fruit juices, varied breads. Cooked Breakfast is abysmal. Staff were wonderful but cold cooked breakfast is never something anyone should endure. Get rid of the buffet. Cook to order. I'd rather wait 30 minutes and have everything hot than the chewy, bouncy dish we were provided with. I was so ill as a result, that I did not return to have any again throughout the rest of my stay. The Krupps coffee pods machines provided in the rooms may well be the latest fad but as far as producing hot coffee! They simply do not. Those of us who drink coffee, and do so properly, do not want these cold excuses for brown liquid. You have fridges in the rooms so why do you have UHT in pods, provide milk in the fridges. This small level of effort would allow you to provide a far higher level of service, along with cafetières. No room service offered, no phones in rooms for emergency’s however, staff were exceptionally accommodating when asked. Some rooms are lacking in drawers for clothes. More hangers than 5 are needed. Get a decent carpenter in and have him put in bespoke shelving/drawers into the wardrobes and units that are already in the rooms, so that the guests needs are met in a more proactive and presentable fashion. Good provision of hair dryer, ironing board and iron - however again, all just dumped in the wardrobe - all things should have their own place. The suite we had was beautiful - kindly improve the lighting. Buy a silent fan for this room [Duux whisper] as you cannot not have the fan on when the weather outside is above 18 degrees. The current one is so loud you cannot sleep with it on or hear the television! Bathroom is beautiful. Superb shower, bath. Towel rail should not be behind the toilet. Get someone to re-silicon the bath in place and get them to do so when it is full of water - this will solve the moving problem and the unsightly old silicon on the floor. If you buy plants for the hotel windows then kindly remove them from the plastic bags! Before placing them in the pot. There was a horrendous odour of smoked kippers on the second floor on the Saturday followed by ‘sewage’ on the Sunday! Quite interesting seeing as how the hotel doesn’t serve kippers or smoked Mackerel. Hotel has a garden at the back but no one told us about it! So much more could be done with this hotel in order to raise its reputation back to where it was 20 years ago. You need to care more about the ‘little things’.
Staff and location
Rooms were way to small and beds tiny
Location people things to do
The hotel seems to have a special feel to me.
The walk up the drive
Great location
Bedrooms very small and a double bed
Location
A bit tired. Shower ceiling damaged
I'm sorry to say I can't recommend the Alderley Edge Hotel. I stayed here for a business trip to the local business park, booked for two nights. The first night was fine — I slept well. My room (55, second floor) ran warm, but opening the window solved it. In the morning I noticed the shower pole had come away from the wall and was just hanging there. I flagged it at reception. It was still usable, so no real issue. The second night was a different story. The hotel was hosting an awards evening in the function hall, and guests were using the garden directly below my window to smoke and drink. They were extremely loud, and cigarette smoke was drifting straight up into my room. I closed the window despite the heat, but the noise was still bad enough that my partner, who I was on the phone to, thought there were people in the room with me. By 10:30pm it had got worse, so I called reception. I was told they'd ask people to keep it down. Nothing changed. At 11pm I went down in person and met another guest who'd come down for the same reason. The assistant manager assured us the garden would be closed. Things quietened for about ten minutes. Then the awards guests came straight back out and carried on. At that point I'd had enough. I requested a refund and drove five hours home rather than spend another hour in the room. After a long day at work, all I'd wanted was an early night. The hotel knew it was hosting a large evening event, and rooms directly above the garden should either not have been sold or guests should have been warned. When the noise was raised — twice — it wasn't meaningfully addressed.
High quality breakfast including veggie options and poached eggs cooked to orders. Good location in Alderley Edge
Excellent stay in a gorgeous, well-presented, spotlessly clean room with fantastic service from arrival to departure. Dinner and breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was great; quality produce cooked well. Looking forward to our return.
The location is fabulous. Hotel is very stylish, modern and clean. The staff were so kind and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend and would return anytime i need to stay in this location. Very happy
Well located and good bar food.
