Provider-sourced guest reviews.
I travel frequently and rarely feel compelled to write reviews, but in this case, the experience warrants it. I recently (July 2026) stayed at Château Arnaud for four nights and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The receptionist was consistently rude and unhelpful, which set a negative tone from the moment we arrived. The room was in poor condition. The carpet was heavily worn and looked like it should have been replaced years ago, the furniture was beaten up, and the room had a persistent unpleasant smell. The TV was outdated, and the channel lineup did not match the listing on the card provided in the room, making it frustrating to use. The Wi‑Fi was extremely slow and unreliable, making even basic browsing difficult. Most concerning, the room was never cleaned during our entire stay. No fresh towels, no replenished supplies, and no housekeeping service whatsoever. Given these issues, I cannot recommend this property to future travellers.

Very nice and clean. Room is perfect!
The hotel is in serious need of upgrades. The tile carpeting is dingy and stained. The Balcony is dirty, rusty, complete with someone’s cigarette ashes, which would blow in with screen door open. One chair on balcony is a cheap folding chair. The sheets are too narrow to tuck in on either side of the king bed. The pillows are weird. They weigh a lot, as if they have been washed too many times and stuffing all clotted together. The fridge was not turned on upon arrival. The lighting in the room is inadequate. The front desk staff(Ali and Anis) are great but they cannot help with all the facilty problems. The owner needs to put some money into this place before we would stay here again.
Breakfast was all precooked an̈d reheated, sausage, bacon and eggs. Towells were never reple tished
Beautiful hotel on the water, in the charming little town of Sept-Isles. Explore the small shops on the wharf!
Perfectly trilingual staff !
First room offered, the patio doors on ground level room was missing ability to lock, therefore not safe. The second room only had 1 bed for 4 people. They gave us a 1 bedroom suite with king bed, my wife and daughters slept in bed. I tried to sleep on pull out couch, however, when it was time to sleep, I discovered that the mattress from the pull out was missing, and I was too tired to go back and complain for third time. The room is outdated, carpet has stains, 1 of 2 bathroom sink faucets was broken. Bedroom closet door was broken. Toilet seat should be changed. Overall I give this place a 2 star for the location and view. I will not be staying there again unless I hear about the hotel being renovated.
Comfortable room, good food options nearby
Everything is perfect.I recommand.
Way better from the outside than the inside. Over the market price compared to other hotels in the city.
We liked the decor, spacious
Room was clean. Good location. The place needs a lot of love and renovation. Night shades had holes in them. Carpet in hallways smelled old.
Bed was so confortable, we need to change ours now.... Perfect for a short week end. Staff was nice. And the view...
The floor of the room was dirty
Terrific location on the St.Lawrence river. The area is good, from the exterior, this hotel is terrific. Inside the rooms though, need some small repairs that are not done. I stay at this hotel 2-3 times per year, esch roim I have stayed in need some repairs. Nothing to put you in danger, but there are broken stuff.
We rented a comfort room with king bed and kitchenette. The room sports old grey carpets that make it sad looking. The kitchen is functional, but the wall would need a good paintcoat. the room has 2 small balconies, one with a working screen, but no chairs, and no real view to talk about. On the plus side, there is a large renovated bathroom with great shower. Great location on waterfront, easy parking, but expensive for what you get.
First of all Not a nice welcome but after discussion It was settle
Room was needing an update carpet quite warn. No outside chairs.
Really liked the location. Great people working there. And amazing room with seaview. I would had only liked for them to clean all days the rooms without waiting for us to ask them. Besides that it was really good. Breakfast is mid, but still good.
This hotel is expensive and it’s taking advantage of its old glory days. The hotel apparently recently went bankrupt and got bought back and it is bad. The best experience in the entire place was the cleaning lady who was amazing. The gentleman at the reception is rude at best, and said no to just about everything. Room is done every other day ( I was leaving in 2 days anyways, thank god the wonderful cleaning lady agrees to clean my room). Never anyone at the reception, gym is dirty and abandoned, no pool on site or restaurant. Breakfast is 23 dollars for packaged pastries and yoghurt, boiled eggs and bad coffee. I came downstairs at 1045 (closes at 11 on weekends) and the guys were already done with no ability to honour their own hours. Rude inflexible people. (Et oui, je suis bilingue) Hotel has this abandoned feel, rooms are decent and clean. But the hotel next door is way cheaper, all ocean views, has a wonderful restaurant. So for the price, not worth it. If you’re trying to revive it, be nice, accommodating and show effort to provide customer service. Don’t be the king of “pas capable”
Tres bien, vue magnifique sur la baie
Breakfast could be better but that’s a long shot in North America
The Chateau is a beautiful hotel, with beautiful decor, situated right on the water along the boardwalk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby with varying menus and prices. The room was huge and very clean, and very quiet. All staff - reception and housekeeping - were kind and helpful. We enjoyed our stay there very much. We did have one issue with the lack of safety features in the bathtub. My 84-year old husband needed a safety bar to hold onto while taking his shower, but there was no bar or non-slip mat. It would have been very useful to have an information sheet with instructions on how to use the phone. We couldn’t even figure out how to call down to reception. It might be helpful to know that this hotel has an opt-in room cleaning system, you have to let the front desk know how often you want your room cleaned, e.g. everyday, every other day, etc. Overall we did enjoy our stay here and would definitely come stay at the Chateau again when we return to Sept-Isles.
The place is excellent especiallly when you have tried the competition locally. The rooms are super clean, well equipped and quiet. The hotel is close to delicious food outlets, the harbour and a micro brasserie. Well recommended
Beau, grand, propre, personnel serviable!
Great place to visit
Enjoyed our stay. Hotel could use a full time restaurant for it’s clients.
Good
This is my favourite place in Sept-Iles.
Nice place by the water
Check-in was super and good location . Lovely view from balcony
Super!
Everything was great except that I had the sign on my door to get cleaned for two days and it didn’t. Not a big deal but that’s why 4 stars.
Centris
Beautiful property and great location. Reception personnel were nice. Service was highly lacking for the cleaning of the rooms and the replenishing of coffee and toiletries as one might expect in a hotel that represents itself as a Chateau (one room visit during 9 day stay). Depositing of room garbage each day outside of room door in the hallway was not up to par for this type of hotel.
Very large room with kitchenette, two sink bathroom with separate shower and separate bathtub. Breakfast was basic but decent.
The room was clean, quiet, bed comfortable, close to variety of restaurants, church, waterfront seafood markets.
Location is great, close to restaurants and the spa. However one of the latches for the patio doors in my ground floor room was broken/missing, but luckily it was a double door. Other than that, my stay was wonderful. Decent variety for breakfast
Overall excellent stay. Best hotel in Sept iles. Breakfast ok. No restaurant.
Staff is super respectful. Breakfast options are ok-ish. The restaurants around serve really good food tho.
Comfortable and clean, smelt clean, breakfast was…what you’d expect:/ but hey it’s free
Very high standard hotel. One of the bestvin Sept iles. Only draw back is no restaurant.
I tried to call the desk for hours before my arrival. Never been able to get the line. That's the only negative point, but it's a big one.
Everything was good
Clean
Nice
Belle emplacement, propre et bon service. Le déjeuner est vraiment copieux.
The room and property were great. The breakfast was awful. Eggs tasted terrible both mornings. The pancakes were moldy
large room.
Very nice place they could improve their breakfast. Needs to be hotter. Otherwise very nice place to stay
Hotel itself is nice and (mostly) clean. Beds are very comfortable and rooms have air conditioning. However, parking is a little cramped and the service received at reception was less than stellar - the gentleman that checked us in gave us the wrong class of room, and when I asked for what I'd booked, was told there were no balcony rooms remaining. When pressed to get what was booked 3 weeks prior (balcony room) , I was made wait an hour and then told we were getting a free upgrade to the actual room we booked (-ie. What I booked and paid for, not an upgrade at all). We stayed 2 nights, and no housekeeping was offered- we had to ask for toiletries, towels and coffee for the room (and wash the cups to reuse - again, no housekeeping attempted to visit the room). The ocean view balcony rooms are very nice, the breakfast is ok, but the human element needs definite improvement! Hotel itself deserves a 3 star, maybe 4, but the absolutely terrible reception and overlooked housekeeping drops it to a 2 at best. Good luck!
Nice view on the marina !!
charming facility with stylish décor, close to marina and good restaurant
Loved the location on the waterfront and walking distance to downtown. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms could use a bit of upgrading. Over all very good quality for the price.
The room was huge and the staff was friendly and their English was decent. Something that needs to be said is that many people travel from other provinces that do not speak French because it is not our first language so it is very important to have staff that are bilingual. I appreciate that they could speak English and they were polite. The bed was super comfy, however the pillows were very firm so not the most comfortable.
Nice view from balcony. Great place to stay , right by the marina

It does have many rooms so good for large groups. Breakfast options were great.
Most staff were very pleasant, but the breakfast and room cleaning services were the nicest. 5 stars to both of them. On both trips to stay there our room was not ready, one time we had to wait 2 hours. An explanation would have been nice - there was a mess, people late in leaving, etc - but we were just left being told to come back after the listed check-in time.
Nice location Elevator was down and out of order 3 days out of four.
It was very good
Perfect
Comfortable and clean.
Everything was very good!
Service peu accueillant.
I liked mostly everything except different parking.
Friendly people and clean hotel
Very nice property.
♥️
Très belle hôtel
Best hotel in Sept Iles
Tres belle vue cote mer
Parking is tough
Newly renovated and excellent location.
Expensive for the region, but nice room. Bed not that comfortable and pillow hard as a rock.
Château Arnaud is the most beautiful and well located hotel in Sept-Iles; on the St.Laurence River, close to restaurants
Nice area on the waterfront
The hotel was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable, staff were polite and the breakfast was free and really good as well. The hotel is situated right by the water. Parking was free but had limited spaces. The price was good and a little less expensive than the other hotels in Sept-iles. I would definitely stay here again. Iles. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
Waterfront
Good overall room with great service. Price was very good compare to other hotels
Relative to other properties in the area, it's newer and fine. Their "included" breakfast is simply awful, set in the dark basement, the selection is very limited and products very poor quality. Most restaurants or Hotels in Quebec are proud of their fresh pastries and quality.....they would be better off NOT offering.
