There was no fridge to keep things cold and the property provided no drinking bottled water.

A little tired around the edges and low water pressure in the shower. Also I was not informed that my room was above the kitchen an I had to call reception to ask why the fan was going on u til 9:30pm making it very noisy.

Like most hotels, a bit expensive when you're a single traveller. Don't let this put you off if you can afford it because it's a lovely hotel.

I was travelling for business and I especially like the fact the car park is locked out of hours with secure gates which puts your mind at rest if you have valuables in the van or car which you cant easily remove. The hotel is within walking distance of the town center. Food is good with specials.

Hotel a bit run down. Gardens overgrown. Cobwebs everywhere. Needs a lick of paint needed.. Tidy up of grounds etc., Over priced for one night with breakfast in Room 28. Walk down to river, all overgrown, so couldn't reach it. Walk into Melton just under a mile.

My room was lovely, clean and very spacious including the bathroom, making my stay extremely comfortable. I would happily stay her again and highly recommend this hotel to others.

The breakfast was superb Beautifully presented and served with a smile. The room we had was stunning and exactly as shown in the pictures. Carparking was secure. The walk into town was around 20mins and very easy.

Reviewed Jan 22, 2026Good location - not far from Sainsbury’s & Starbucks which helps when you’re travelling for work. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful - couldn’t fault them and would return for this reason alone. Breakfast is good - great choice of cooked & continental options. Dinner is also pretty good, too but you do hear a microwave dinging a lot which makes me wonder if stuff is re heated and not cooked fresh but I could be wrong.
It is very old decor and feels a bit like it’s stuck in the 70s. The furniture could do with an upgrade, lot of cobwebs in rooms and corners. Bar has limited wine options but it’s quite small - personal preference so may not bother anyone else. Stayed twice and on the last stay, could hear the person on one side snoring whilst the other side had heavy feet stomping around. Sound proofing definitely needs improving and would request to not stay in that room again.

Staff were v aware of difficulties of travelling with dog in v hot weather n kindly set up dining table for us in separate room so he did not have to go to hot car while we were dining. Whole place was lovely. Plenty of outdoor places there n nearby to exercise dog. Lovely food for humans! All staff were delightful.
