Handy to town, easy to find. Mark was pleasant and welcoming. Bed was comfortable but pillows lumpy. Not too bad really. For its location it was quiet.

The bathroom and general area were clean but when I went to plug in my phone beside the bed I pulled the little dresser out and the plug and skirting boards were thick with dirty dust. The room was so small I’m glad my partner wasn’t with me as there was just one chair and a small desk, no where for two people to sit for a coffee. No couch or anything, just a double bed pushed tightly into the corner, head right under the window which was cold. OK for a single traveller I guess. It didn’t feel sanitary to be washing my dishes in the toilet sink which was the only sink.

Check in was easy. Friendly staff.

Very small, no ventilation in the bathroom, so ceiling up the skylights were mouldy, and lots of condensation on the floor in the morning from the showers in the afternoon. The mattress was very hard, I normally like a firm mattress, but woke up with aches from it. Carpark is also very tiny so not ideal if you have a van.

Clean and tidy

Great place to stay with our dog. It was very clean, warm and comfortable. Great shower! Close to town and they were able to provide parking for our car and trailer. Comfy beds! Excellent value for money, would stay again.

Easy to warm up on a cold night

tried to book us into the incorrect studio a lot smaller told us our studio had water issues and we couldn’t stay in it, n when I said I would look for alternative options , a short time later our booked studio all of a sudden was available and no water problems, scammers that you need to watch, other than that studio was tidy enough and was what to be expected for what we paid

My studio was spacious with all day sun. The separate bedroom also had sun streaming in all day and was of a good size with a double and a single. The beds were firm and supportive with good pillows and two electric blankets which were not needed due to the heat pump being able to keep the whole studio comfortable all night. Great size shower with ample hot water pressure thanks to the big cylinder. The kitchenette was also ample with a two burner stove ,lots of cupboards under it to hold an array of pots,pans,dishes etc.there was a decent size eating area off the end of it with three cool wooden chairs around it and a couch all of which sat in the aforementioned all day sun.

Slept right through the night comfortably..it was cozy and quiet.

Hosts are lovely and appreciated them allowing me a very late check-in.

Was a bit tricky parking my ute in a small space and would be nicer to have it right outside unit.

You get what you pay for. Yet still expensive for what you get. Has the basics for one night. I’d not spend more time there.

Lady at the front desk barely spoke English. Place is very outdated. Around 1am the people next to our room came back and made a lot of noise. Very annoying. Not sure why we were given a room next to someone else when the place was pretty much empty. We left as soon as we could in the morning.

A cute place that was a comfortable stop over with our two dogs. I appreciate they allow dogs with a fair extra cleaning fee. Had a nice retro feel kitchenette and everthing we needed. Close to main street and lots of restaurants.

We didn't have breakfast there. We were only vehicle in carpark and we didn't see any others staying there. But the motel was central and as we wanted to leave early to continue driving north that was good. When we checked in the manager at desk was quick and helpful.

The lodge was nice and cosy and was what I wanted. The lodge was away from the main road and was quiet. I loved the bag of coffee and the coffee plunger !!!!!!

It was a very, very affordable one night budget accommodation. Although the towels were bleached in places I lobed the trouble gone to make the presentation of them. We arrived after 8pm but we had easy access and contact less.

Very happy to work around our needs. Nice and quiet. Lovely helpful staff. Good value for money and while dated, beautifully clean. Only issue we had was with our key not working at one point, but very helpful in getting the issue sorted for us.

We had a very pleasant stay. The room had everything we needed, and we were especially pleased with the good water pressure in the shower. The parking was convenient, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived late, and they kindly left the keys and everything we needed for our arrival. The location was also very convenient for us — we arrived in Wellington by ferry in the evening, and the hotel was only about an hour’s drive away.

The motel was off the main road and so fairly quiet. There was plenty of space in the unit we stayed in and it was comfortable. The staff were friendly. It's close to the town centre and supermarkets - easy walking distance.

The motel is fairly dated so if you're after modern facilities then this is not the place for you. The TV was hard to work out but that could have been down to us being techno dinosaurs.

We did not stay at this motel. We had ordered a 2 bedroom stay for 4 nights. I rang the premises twice prior to leaving Australia to confirm that it was 2 actual bedrooms, not 1 bedroom and the other in the kitchen/lounge area, and I was told yes both times that it was 2 actual bedrooms - I was still doubtful so I had my friend in Levin NZ to also contact them, hoping she would speak to someone who spoke fluent English and understood what I needed. Alas she got a similar response to mine. On arrival my fears were confirmed. I had booked for 4 nights, but could not stay there, after a long discussion we left. I then had to find alternate accommodation, the only thing I could find was 2 nights not far away at another much nicer Motel and this 2 bedroom room was more suitable to our needs. The other 2 nights needed were spent at a batch in Hokio Beach and in Wellington as we were flying out the next day. I did lodge a detailed report with Booking.com, advising that our booking at Totara was not as we had requested and that we did not stay there. Booking.com were terrific and our refund was paid within 2 days.

The room booked did not suit our needs, and the proprietor assured by telephone that it was 2 separate bedrooms. However on inspection with the proprietor on day of arrival it was in fact 1 bedroom with 2 single beds in the dining/kitchen/lounge area.

The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. It was had a lovely friendly dog next door called Jelly and it was a highlight to have pats and to be greeted by it through the fence. It was a quiet location and close to town. I would like to stay here again when I come through. It was at a good price point too, which means next time we come we would stay longer.
