We really enjoyed the common room ! And we stayed in the Lime room and really enjoyed it :):) we enjoyed meeting people, and felt very at home and relaxed !! Definitely would do it again !!!!

Well, we didn’t always love all the stairs lol but it was good exercise, and the staff were so helpful with our large suitcases, so it wasn’t too bad :)

Wij boekten eerst een nacht in de dorms, waar we helaas slecht sliepen door het lawaai en de nabijheid van de keuken. De tweede nacht hadden we een privékamer op de bovenste verdieping en daar was het heerlijk stil! Het personeel is supervriendelijk en helpt je met alles. De hostel heeft een goed uitgeruste keuken en een gezellige woonkamer. Zeker een aanrader als je centraal in de stad wilt verblijven, vlak bij een leuke buurt! 😊

Niets specifieks. We vonden de privékamers wel beter onderhouden dan de dorms. In de dorm was het erg warm en konden de gordijnen niet volledig dicht.

Très bon séjour dans ce logement ! Nous avons été très bien accueillies. Le logement était propre, confortable et conforme à la description. L’emplacement était pratique pour visiter les environs et l’accueil très agréable. Nous recommandons cet hébergement sans hésitation et y séjournerions à nouveau avec plaisir.

L'emplacement idéal. La cuisine très bien équipé. Des règles pour les frigos et zone commune sans chaussures. Bon wifi. Douches propre. Une lampe et prise USB par lit. Un rideau autour des lits.

Les lits doubles sont métalliques créant du bruit à chaque mouvement et secouant l'ensemble. De même les caissons sous les lits sont en métal et crée beaucoup de bruit surtout qu'il y a 20 lits dans la chambre.

The location is in downtown, but the rooms were very quiet, and noiseless. The isolation works well. The staff was very friendly; most of them can speak two languages, plus Québécois. The communication in general was straightforward. In general, the staff deserve 5 stars. The kitchen was very well equipped. Bedrooms as well, very quiet and confortably.

One more bathroom for each floor would be great.

Fantastic location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean throughout, especially in the common areas. Bed was surprisingly comfortable and room was quiet. We arrived very late and were still greeted on arrival.

La climatisation dans la chambre, impossible à couper ou régler car centralisée. Il a souflé un froid glacial toute la nuit alors que la température extérieure était douce. Quand j'ai demandé à la charmante jeune fille de l'accueil, elle m'a dit que la seule solution était d'ouvrir la fenêtre pour réchauffer, et qu'elle pouvait me donner plus de couvertures!!! Merci pour la planète, et pour la nuit de m... qu'on a passé ;-)

having a no shoe policy only works if your floors are clean!! the stairs were sticky and dirty and absolutely blackened our socks. very uncomfortable.

Très agréable auberge. Tout est très bien pensé pour le confort de chacun. Belles couleurs, belles lumières dans l'espace de vie commune. plein d'astuces pour la propreté, le rangement, la tranquillité ou le bavardage si on le souhaite.

Les escaliers pour 2 grosses valises ! Peut être demander si on est chargé pour privilégier le 1er étage.

Ambiance conviviale et voyageurs de tout horizon... échanges sociaux très sympathiques et de partage. Un espace cuisine spacieux de quoi cuisiner. Au coeur du vieux Montréal et station métro square Victoria permet de découvrir cette mégapole.

Bémol...les douches mériteraient une remise en peinture...

I really liked the hostel itself, which had a good atmosphere, was cozy, the staff was welcoming, the common area was functional and usable, and it was centrally located.

Although the staff were nice, they were not always so informative, for instance about towels and blankets, things I had to use right away. I was freezing the first night, the room's air con was quite intense, and I ended up buying a towel, since the towels were always being washed every time I asked. The room was not properly clean when I was moving in, and had to ask the cleaning staff to take care of it. The women's dorm was not as good as the mixed room, which had better beds, more space, more functionality and more privacy. Will definitely book that room next time.

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war sehr gut, tolle Lage, mitten im Geschehen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und ausreichend groß. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und als Gemeinschaftsraum schön gemütlich gestaltet. Die Badezimmer modern und sauber.

Es war sehr heiß, wo die Klimaanlage kaputt war. Wir haben Ventilatoren bekommen.

Wobbly, noisy old style bunk beds. The whole bed shakes every time someone moves or rolls over or climbs in to bed. They really need to modernize their dorms.

Location was excellent wuth the most iconic streets just outside the front door . Also.close to the port area.

Rooms are on a shared a/c system so you cannot control the temperature of your rooms. The room I was allocated was very cold but the very helpful receptionist gave me extra blankets There are alot of steep steps to all rooms.

The kitchen facility saved me. The location worked very well. Overall very convenient.

Poloha hostelu je bezkonkurencni, kuchynka a personal taky. To bylo super. Mila a ochotna recepcni, za coz ji moc dekuji.

Malo nebo spise zadne odkladaci misto, kdyz si chci jen z batohu vytahnout par veci a jit do sprchy. Navic jak se vecer/rano nesviti, tak jsem musela jit na chodbu, ale ta byla super uzka. Malo zachodu a sprch. Beru, ze kdybych nemela vrchni postel, taky by to bylo asi lepsi. Chybi zaves na jedne strane postele, nebylo tam mini svetlo u postele a nefungovaly zastrcky.

En connection avec l’auberge Alt, Ils m’ont bloqué à l’auberge l’Alternative (même propriétaire) . On m’a menacé aux deux places de faire venir la police si je ne présentais à l’une ou l’autre des auberges. J’ai beaucoup de peine de m’être faire accusé de raciste quand je ne le suis pas 🤥 et en plus des menaces de police…ils m’ont bloqués dans les auberges de jeunesse à Montréal….pour raciste!!!😳🤥Je ne le suis pas. J’ai eu un chum Ougandais(noir), un colocataire Français et j’ai épousé un Québécois et un Marocain par la suite…..Et je suis raciste!!!😳😤😭

L ambiance est top, le personnel est très sympathique. L emplacement est idéalement bien situé dans le vieux Montréal.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli. La cuisine est bien équipée. Il y a des jeux de sociétés en libre service et des soirées sont organisées pour plus de convivialité.

The place is generally clean.

Our room ( Lime Room) is like a freezer. The thermostat doesn't s work. Everybody was freezing. The place smells nice, except of course the areas where shoes are to be taken off ( like reception ) where the shoe area kind of stinks. But overall, the place is clean.

Great hostel, great location, great people!

Wonderful place! Common space is bright with big arched windows, great colors, fun decor, tables for eating, kitchen facilities, and an area with couches, games, and guitars on the wall. People choose to hang out there. The location is incredible, right in the old town near lots of good restaurants, museums and sites, and in the neighborhood with a lot of night clubs and night life. It was summer so I was worried it would be too noisy to sleep but the rooms had AC and closed windows, no problem. Very Clean! Staff visibly working hard on that. Great showers in individual compartments. Felt very safe. (I'm a 50s dad who was there on his own for the jazz fest.) Staff are very friendly and helpful. Both nights I came back very late (2AM) and found someone in my assigned bed in my 6-bed dorm. This was not the fault of the staff at all, and they were very calm and effective in dealing with the situation. One night there was an empty bed so I took that bed and next morning when I explained the situation to Perrine, a very friendly and helpful front desk staffer, she made the efficient choice and simply switched our assigned beds, no problem. The second night five beds were occupied including mine and the sixth had someone's stuff in it. Jean-Pierre, an overnight volunteer, was a calm problem solver. He got a professional staffer to come access the computer files to figure it out. Bravo was kind and gentle in waking up the person who had ended up in the wrong bed and moving them back to where their stuff was. While we waited Jean Pierre made me chamomile tea and we talked about cinema. Great guy. He also used a wonderful technique to quiet some people who were being just a little too loud after quiet hours in the common area. After asking them gently a couple of times to be quiet but not getting enough response he simply joined their conversation and used his own hushed voice as a cue to them to keep their voices down. Problem solved, everyone happy!

This is not a note of something I didn't like, just recommendations to guests: 1) If you go there, realize that in the dormitory rooms there are assigned bunks and lockers. Be sure you are in the right bunk and locker! It's listed in your confirmation email and when you check in they have you take a picture of a list of house rules that includes the door code, your room number, and your bed/locker number. I recommend piling some of your stuff on your bunk if you are going to be out late to make sure no one mistakes it for an empty, available bunk. 2) Bringing a bike is a great way to see the city! Mine folds so I could put it in the room like luggage but I _think_ the hostel also has a bike storage room for full sized bikes. Not sure though, ask ahead of time. 3) The restaurant Sham on Ave Mont Royal in Plateau neighborhood has _incredible_ vegan middle eastern food 4) My photos show: 2 photos of Sham restaurant, 2 of jazz fest, the rest show the hostel interior and exterior and views from the windows.

some of the bathroom doors don’t close fully/properly, so there is a bit of noise from people using them. there’s also no A/C in the common area so it’s not totally ideal to hang out there when it’s hot out. also noticed the dorm rooms can get a bit hot at night even with the A/C on but i think when i noticed this the room was full so that would contribute

La cama de abajo de la litera era bastante cómoda, el Wifi bastante rápido, el aire acondicionado se aprecia, los baños limpios y el área de comedor muy agradable. La ubicación también es muy buena y si vas a una de las habitaciones, en teoría solo compartes baño y ducha con las personas de las otras habitaciones lo que hace que no estén colapsados los baños.

Los edredones la verdad que no olían bien y no se puede dormir en las literas de arriba por el ruido al moverte. El servicio para guardar maletas deja mucho que desear, teníamos una segunda reserva debido a un viaje en el medio de nuestra estancia. En el check-in nos dijeron que seguramente nos podrían guardar las maletas, que preguntásemos el día del primer check-out. Menos mal la noche anterior al check-out volví a preguntar a otro recepcionista y nos dijeron que management no les dejaba guardar equipajes durante ese tiempo. Un inconveniente ya que al día siguiente tuvimos que hacer malabares para encontrar un sitio donde dejar la maleta antes de ir al aeropuerto. Si no se puede lo entiendo, pero dímelo desde un inicio para poder planificar correctamente.

The bed was comfortable with curtains. The member of staff I spoke to was friendly and the bathroom was pretty clean

I was delayed and so arrived late and there were no staff at the desk which normally would be fine as they gave me all the details to enter etc. however as it turned out the next morning, they had cancelled my booking or something for some unknown reason and so when I arrived at 1am I found someone sleeping in my bed. I woke them up to ask if they had the right bed but they said it was theirs. Luckily there was another spare one but if not it would have been a nightmare as I’d been travelling for 24 hours. I didn’t sleep well because I thought someone would arrive all night and say I’m in their bed.

Position is good.

Several times i was asked if they could enter the room to have a look to the A/c that I could not set. One night temperature was so low that I had a cold (and outside temp was 19° They should fix it.

There's no lift, and I had to carry my heavy bags up all the flights of stairs because my room was at the very top.

The location is good.

The room was a bit too warm at night and made it difficult to sleep and get some rest. The desk on the table was slanted and not good for its purpose because things would slide and fall.

Everything was great. Some people in my room were noisy after midnight but stopped after being addressed.

Extremely friendly staff and fantastic hostel environment. I especially appreciated how communicative they were. I received multiple messages leading up to and during my stay. I arrived in Montréal late at night and they made sure I had what I needed to get into the hostel and to make it to my room. I look forward to coming back!

Les chambres ne sont pas égales, lors de mon précédent séjour j’ai eu droit à un lit très confortable avec rideaux pour l’intimité, des prises murales et une lampe de lit. Ce séjour là était plus sommaire avec un lit ouvert sans prise ni lampe. Par ailleurs la climatisation était extrêmement bruyante.

Tout était parfait, le personnel, l’environnement, la propreté. Ce sont mes deux fils qui sont partis un ne se sentait pas très bien et tout le monde a réagi avec gentillesse, bienveillance et surtout par message interposé. Ils ont répondu à toutes mes attentes. Merci encore et je recommande sincèrement cette auberge.

Le seul point négatif était que la clim dans les chambres était un petit peu trop forte. Je ne peux rien dire d’autre, car tout était bien.

L’emplacement de l’auberge est idéale, elle est au cœur de la ville. La porte de l’auberge est facilement repérable par sa couleur rose. Les actualités de la ville et les événements sont affichés dans l’auberge ce qui permet de prévoir ses journées et ses soirées.

Le manque de respect des autres résidents vis-à-vis de l’hygiène et de la propreté dans la salle de bain et les wc. Nous étions dans un dortoir de 20 lits où certains dorment dans la journée et où il y a de nombreux allers et venues au cours de la nuit. Nous pensions être dans un dortoir de 6 lits lors de notre réservation.

Comme indiqué il n'y a pas d'ascenseur, l'accès au chambre est donc compliqué au dernière étage. Aucune valise ne rentrait dans les casiers (cabine et soute), ni sous les lits.

A localização é excelente. Perto de bons restaurantes, mercado, pontos turísticos, metrô. O hostel é organizado e limpo.

Tem uma escada bem íngreme de acesso. Não nos criou problemas, mas é bom enfatizar.

L’auberge est très bien située. Les parties communes sont très agréables à vivre. Les sanitaires sont propres et bien entretenus. La cuisine est fonctionnelle et bien équipée. Le personnel est très accueillant.

Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de rideaux pour s’isoler des autres dans le dortoir mixte.

Personnel accueillant et extrêmement tolérant et ne sont pas dans le jugement d'autrui. Ils instaurent des règles pertinentes contre la discrimination et et pour le respect de l'autre. Bon Équipement de cuisine. Établissement propre. À 7 minutes à pied du métro le plus proche. Un supermarché pas cher à 600 metres de l'auberge. Bon rapport qualité prix. On peut y faire de chouette rencontres. C'est pourquoi je vous recommande cet établissement.

Very nice common rooms and nice staff, very friendly and positive vibe. Perfect location in the old town, plenty of restaurants and bars on the same street.

The big dorm did not meet my expectations, smelled bad, the provided blankets were too cold, and there were not enough bathrooms available. Metal beds and boxes for belongings meant lots of noise from other guests.

I unfortunately lost my key to my lock used for the locker in the evening, so I asked the receptionist whether there was a locksmith nearby that I could ask the next day. Surprisingly, after confirming nobody was sleeping in my dorm, he helped me crack the lock with the tool. Then I bought a new lock from the reception desk. I really appreciated the help and I got to save over $100 for locksmith services. I'll be more careful to keep lock key the next time.

I loved the warm atmosphere of the hostel. Nice staff, good tea.. Ideally located, free earplugs... Everything!

Locatie is top. Dichtbij oude stad en dichtbij metro. Mooie ingericht hostel. Bedden waren Okay.

Door formule 1 weekend extra veel geluid buiten. Ook omdat st piere een soort uitgaans straat is. De bedden kraakt wel net als de vloer. Jammer dat er geen badkamer is op de eerste verdieping. Niet zo goed geslapen maar dat ligt niet aan het hostel maar omdat je alles van buiten hoort.
