The location of this hotel is great, very close to shops & restaurants yet on a quiet street.

Great location. Mostly quiet building. Nice kitchen facilities. Lots of room to hang/store clothes. Check in/check out and keypad system worked well. Having the sign outside made it very easy to locate.

Sink in middle of room seemed odd. Wasn’t a fan of see through shower stall. Plenty of towels but not very soft. Only place to sit was stools at island. Not much natural light in room.

We stayed at David Hotel in Old Montreal, and I loved the contrast. From the outside, it feels completely historic and unmistakably Montreal. Inside, it’s modern, spacious and almost like having your own apartment in the middle of the city. The huge kitchen, minimalist design and all that space made it feel very different from a typical hotel room. And the location was perfect for exploring Old Montreal on foot. Definitely one of the most interesting places we’ve stayed.

Not really a full service hotel. No lobby/reception area, no breakfast, no housekeeping included, minimal hotel services.

Check in was great, staff member who helped us is very friendly. Apartment was very spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable but I would suggest a softer pillow option for those who don’t love a firm thick pillow. A trash receptacle in the room with the toilet would be convenient, for women especially. A laundry pod as a starter would be a nice touch for use in a pinch. We had to walk to three stores before we found laundry detergent and it was only sold in a full sized bottle. The last suggestion I have is to maybe warn people that the shower is open and clearly visible from everywhere in the apartment- so there is no privacy. This was a surprise haha!! Overall though we enjoyed our stay and the location is perfect!

The hotel lobby was really smelly like vape, it was entirely carpeted. I thought the room was less smelly but when I got home all my clothes absolutely stunk. And I had to get a tonne of dry cleaning done.

We had a wonderful stay and couldn't say enough good things about how helpful the staff were! Our original accommodation cancelled on us just two days before arrival, so we had to make last-minute arrangements. Since The David didn't have availability for our entire stay, the team organized accommodations for us at their sister hotel, Hotel Bresoles, located less than 10 minute walk away. Both properties were excellent, though they offer different experiences. The David has more of a vacation-hotel feel, while Bresoles is better suited for longer stays, especially if you'd like the convenience of cooking and feeling more at home. But once again, what really stood out was the staff. They were incredibly helpful, attentive, and always quick to respond to any questions or messages. Their customer service turned a potentially stressful situation into a smooth and enjoyable experience. We would absolutely recommend staying here and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The only minor issue was the bathroom layout. The shower tended to leak water onto the floor, but the hotel provided plenty of towels, so we survived fine. The sink is also located in the middle of the room and doesn't offer much counter space. With two people sharing the room, a bit more space around the sink for toiletries and personal items would have been appreciated, but thats just me being picky. Other than that, we had a great stay and no significant complaints.

Location was absolutely the best of all criteria.

Almost everything in the room is merchandise, to the point that I am afraid to touch anything apart from kitchen items. 3 complimentary coffee pods for 2 people; 3-night stays feel underwhelmed, and I need to pay for another 3 pods. I am not sure whether daily cleaning is provided; I thought a hotel would provide it.

Location was great.

Their “boarding pass” system is a complete failure. We requested the room be cleaned, at their “desk” and it did not happen. I texted them as their system requires and they never responded to my second request to clean the room and replace the coffee. There was no one available to help for at least 12 hours, no staff on premise.

It was a very unique room, with all the amenities: Washer/dryer, dishwasher, kitchen, utensils, plates and cups. microwave, cooktop fridges. Lovely lighting and a very comfortable bed. Friendly staff, and I laugh at the David statue in the lobby every time. Well located in Old Montreal to be close to great restaurants and entertainment.

Was a bit noisy from a he cars below and the elevator dinging. Clear glass shower made it awkward to gain some privacy. Two tv’s but neither of them really worked. We could watch for a bit and the. The show would stop or the sound would stop or we couldn’t get another show. Especially frustrating when the World Cup soccer matches were on.

The design was creative, modern, and off-beat. Some things were clever and some were just weird. Emilie was warm and helpful.

Air-conditioning was difficult to control. It was either much too cold or too hot. Putting the bathroom sink in the middle of a large bedroom was just weird and uncomfortable. The shower leaked rivers of water into the bedroom area and we had to use the dryer to make the towels usable. Access was way too complicated with all the codes that had to be entered. A key or key card would be much easier. I didn't see the point in paying for a kitchen and washer-dryer for a short stay, but the dryer came in handy when the shower leaked all over the room.

Loved the ease of use and the staff! Shoutout to Emilie! The studio had everyrhing you need for a comfortable stay, including washer, dryer, dishwasher, full kitchen, and a very comfy bed. The rainfall shower was strong! The lighting features were a bonus. Cant beat the old port location either. We loved Hotel David and would stay again. Highly recommend.

The Nespresso machine makes too small a cup of coffee/ espresso.

The room layout and atmosphere leave a great deal to be desired. It's supposed to be minimalist but it's just a grey depressing box that feels like your in your parents basement. The bathroom layout is also ridiculous. The sink area is small and poorly lit and open to the entire room . The shower is also completely exposed so there is no privacy. The water closet is tiny and the TP is on a pole on the floor but at least there is a door you can close. Meanwhile the kitchen island is 9 feet long and seems like a total waste of space.

The location is excellent in the old town. The lofts are spacious, well appointed with a well stocked kitchen area. The WiFi worked well and the check in arrangements - all done online - were efficient and well executed.

The bathroom arrangements - there a separate toilet, a freestanding glass shower and a wash basin in the main room. Very strange showering experience. Also our shower door didn’t open properly and we didn’t like having the shower on open display. Also no mirror near the sink. To us, the whole bathroom arrangement smacked of being a nice design idea on paper that wasn’t great in practise. Also although the room was well appointed with a huge bed and a large kitchen diner, there was no sofa or chairs other than bar stalls and a thin bench. A comfy chair by the lovely windows would have been really nice.

The room itself was very good. We loved the design and the mix of the old building with a modern style. Location was amazing, even though it is located in the busy area, it was quiet at night. We had some questions about the room, the team got back to us very quickly and resolved everything right away.

There wasn't too many surfaces for personal belongings, no shelfs or closets. I guess it isn't too much of a problem if you are only staying there for a short visit though. Be aware that all of the items provided at the room (like a hat, slippers, and other things) are not free. They are quite overpriced and it is easy to assume that they are there as complimentary items. You will be charged if you use them.

Location was great. Everything I needed to get in was explained to me. Great staff. 2 tvs but I never used them once. I will be back though for sure.

I was told the one drawer that wouldn't open they would eventually open but didn't. But that is OK. I dont know what it was but one evening it felt like the whole building was shaking. I did hear either car or motorcycles go by but not sure if that would have made the building shake? I am glad I had the slippers to use...I did find the floor unfortunately after showering and didn't put on my slippers, that the bottoms of my feet got dirty again.

Contemporary apartment that made a good base for a short stay. Great location just outside the busiest area of Old Montreal. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to main attractions. The studio is well equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable bed.

All information about the property is online in a ‘boarding pass’ and it was more difficult to find information about appliances and procedures (probably showing our age here!). Also we were not aware there was a security guard on site when we had an issue with a noisy party on our floor. Thought we had no option to contact staff.

The location is great. Walking distance to many places, and a metro station is not far away. The accommodation is great, except the showers, clean and functional with a comfortable bed and reliable temperature controls.

The shower. Where do I even start... All the worst interior design decisions culminated into this shower stall. See-through walls, no door, no curb. Had to use all spare towels to soak up the water sipping from the shower.

David Hotel doesn't feel like a hotel, more like a serviced apartment. There is a limited front desk service, check-in is encouraged to be done via an App, every door you walk through needs a different digital code (found in the App). The room itself was fine if you like an industrial warehouse vibe with limited natural light. It's trendy but wasn't to my taste. This could be a great place to stay for a trendy, well located apartment but it doesn't offer the service I was expecting from a Hotel. And the price was extortionate (admittedly we were there during the Grand Prix weekend).

A couple of chairs in the room would have been nice. A sheet with were to find things in the room without having to ask Like the detergent for the washing machine. A ramp on the side of the stairs for handicapped to bring luggage in and get up and down the stairs. Even a railing would have helped.

There was no mirror for the bathroom sink that was placed next to the bed...unusual and impractical. Unfortunately, there were no chairs or a desk. This meant that the room was uncomfortable for work and for eating.

Great location, especially for first time visitors. Right in the heart of Old Montreal, it is a very convenient location to check out a cool part of the city and have access to buses and trains which are just a few minute walk away from the hotel. Self check-in was easy enough through the hotel's app and the room was clean and spacious. Beds were also super comfy.

We stayed in Loft 35, where the trash collection was right outside so we heard it every morning which was quite loud. Not a dealbreaker but probably something to note. The layout of the room was very spacious including a whole kitchen, however, the bathroom layout was questionable. The shower and sink were kind of in the middle of the room, which I suppose is a creative choice but functionality was missing. The toilet thankfully was enclosed, however, there was no toilet paper holder?? None of these are dealbreakers but just a heads up.

It felt more like an overpriced and EXTREMELY DIRTY Airbnb rather than a real hotel. The name “David Hotel” was misleading. We expected it to be a regular hotel, but the situation was completely different. First of all, there is no front desk receptionist, and you HAVE TO check in online by uploading a selfie and your ID, and paying a $300 damage deposit in order to receive the access code to the building and the room. I do not feel comfortable or safe having my personal identification information and images collected in this way. Secondly, EVERY SERVICE COMES WITH AN EXTRA CHARGE. You have to pay for it, and even pay for requesting a clean towel. What disappointed me the most was the cleanliness. THE CLEANLINESS WAS A DISASTER. The bed sheets, comforter cover, and pillowcases were very dusty, with visible fabric pilling, stains, and human hair. I asked them to provide newly cleaned sheets, but the replacement set had the same issues. The shower towel they provide has lots of stains on it. The shower head was extremely dirty and covered in heavy limescale buildup. The handheld shower also felt grimy to the touch, with a thick layer of residue on the surface. Additionally, the towels and bed linens felt VERY LOW QUALITY, with a thin and rough texture. They did not feel like hotel-standard linens. They offered a canvas tote bag in exchange for a five-star review. I did not want to leave an unrealistic review just to receive a free item. Overall, I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a genuinely clean and properly managed hotel.

We stay here every time we visit Montreal. It's spotlessly clean, has all amenities we need, and is a perfect location to wander Old Montreal.

We bring our own coffee setup (carafe and grounds) because what's provided doesn't suit us. Also this last stay fell on a Tuesday morning which is trash collection day, and we were woken with the sound of crashing glass at 6am.
