No Parking
Good location
No parking and didn’t have the breakfast as it seemed to dear
The hotel was very attractive and in a good location. There was no official parking attached to the hotel, but plenty nearby. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent.
When we opened our window we found it was directly above the kitchen extractor and the room immediately filled with the smell of frying! It was not pleasant and we requested a room change but the hotel was fully booked. However, there was air conditioning in the room so as it was a very warm evening, we closed the windows and turned the air conditioning on. Not ideal but better than the smell. The room was also much smaller than any of the pictures on the website.
Location and fabulous breakfast
Nothing
I loved the three lounge areas upstairs. I had the small single room but it was perfectly comfortable and convenient it had its own ensuite. Location was great in the town centre, comfy bed, quiet building
No private car park but chargeable places to park nearby

The staff were lovely and also called me back as I left my ring there and left it for me to collect which was greatly appreciated (especially as it was my wedding ring!)
Nice part of town, convenient travel wise to get to London. Decent modern bathroom and the staff were great.
The room itself (room 5) had a damp smell that didn’t go away at all
Excellent from the start great restaurant fantastic service shall be back!
loved it all..
Good location , near shops and amenities , welcoming staff , room clean and comfortable , modern , good facilities, inside and outside, optional breakfast available. Restaurant and bar .
Lots of stairs to climb , to get to single room located top of building. Out of hours back entrance. A bit strange, ( as not used to it)
The matress was so so comfy. The room was super quiet and spacious plus had aircon. The sheets & towels were super clean and the bathroom products smelt amazing.
The pillows were shocking sadly. The overhead shower didn't work just sprayed really finely everywhere other than on the person so was unusable. The end of the bed jutted out and I caught my leg on it and have a nasty bruise, it needs to be shifted nearer the window. The worst thing was the breakfast by a long way. There was no sourdough bread at all, every breakfast option inc it so pretty ridiculous to run out on a busy bank holiday. They offered cheap nasty bread instead. Only one round of tea was offered, the "continental" breakfast had a few stale cereals, a couple of yoghurts and some random jam! No butter was put in the toast it was stone cold & very dry. My avocado was rock hard. For £15 a person it was shocking.
A great place, modern but classic
Parking obviously challenging
Great little coaching inn set in the beautiful town of Devizes. Real character and very clean.
Beautiful room. Air conditioning!!! Big shower. Superb.
It was a little pricey but it was gorgeous.
Excellent location in the centre of devizes. The downstairs restaurant was handy and worth a visit too.
As a "boutique" hotel the bedroom furnishings were a little bland but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom spotless clean
Charming property very much in keeping with the style of the town centre. Perfect location.
Excellent location Wonderful rooms Great staff Good food
Location and quirky style.
Out of hours unmanned check-in and rear entrance at night.
La tranquilidad y el jardín interior
Algún ruido de las habitaciones de encima
Cooked breakfast was very good but Continental breakfast was very poor. It was just cereal, which is American!, cheap yoghurt and orange juice. A "continental breakfast" consists of lots of fresh fruit, lots of varieties of breads and cakes and pastries and lots of cooked meats and a variety of cheeses. Also some salad vegetables. Then there are the jams and honey. Where was the honey? Very very poor.
Room no. 3 which we had was a windowless store cupboard. You say you are a 5* hotel but room no. 3 is not even 2 *. How can you market it as 5 * without a window? At least we had aircon. Our friend in room 17 had no window and no aircon. This is like paying for a place in a prison. You should come clean and tell your clients what they are getting and what they are not. It is a complete rip-off to charge these prices and deliver such bad rooms. Next to TripAdvisor...
Best hotel in Devizes and I’ve stayed in them all. Lovely rooms. Beautifully clean. Lovely bed linen. Fab staff.

Great location and very good staff
Not much
Cute and the staff were amazing
Excellent breakfast, wonderful comfy room. Great shower. Really nice having access to fresh milk in the communal fridge, thanks!
Smart, clean, comfortable. Nice restaurant attached.
Beautiful room and supremely helpful staff. Very comfy bed. Nice and quiet
We booked breakfast but service starts at 8 and we had to miss it for the ferry
Lovely boutique hotel with friendly staff. Able to accommodate us at short notice. Rooms were a generous size and comfortable.
Good breakfast. Central location
A chair in our room would have been appreciated
A nice independent hotel
Booking says there is parking, in reality there is little parking in Devizes.
Good central location in a lovely building. Room was large, nice king bed with crisp white sheets and excellent aircon, much appreciated in this week's heatwave. Really nice breakfast.
Sadly I have to mention the sliding glass en suite door. Very noisy in the night when either of us went to use the bathroom. Also does not fit, with gaps around the outside so no privacy. The biggest no no for us is that the bed is positioned directly facing the en suite so if you're sat on the bed you can see the outline of whoever is using the toilet! This is worse when it steams up after the shower has been used. For this reason we would not stay again. A shame really as generally it's a lovely hotel.
Central convenient location. Polite, friendly customer oriented personnel. Room was spotless and provided lovely accommodation. Excellent food. Will happily visit again!!
Nothing
lovely friendly welcome, great room. Air con kept me cool. After dinner I came back and had a drink at the bar where the staff were fantastic. Parking isn't close by but you know this before you book and get there.
Friendly staff, quality finish and comfy bed!
Nothing.
Loved the style of the rooms and space within them. Central town location was good also.
No biscuits or snacks in room. No parking even though I know this was explained. Didn’t feel it was competitively priced.
Great beds and pillows. Really central location in Devizes and for exploring the area. The room was so well appointed and equipped, everything you could possibly need. Air conditioning was very welcome.
Nothing
Food was excellent, staff were amazing especially Sophie
Best in the area
Bar & restaurant closed on a Monday - would be nice if at least the bar was open for drinks / snacks.
What a find! Everything looked upgraded, recently decorated and tastefully added curios. Our room had a trio of elephants on the fireplace (yes!) mantle. And plenty of space in the bathroom for two toiletry bags (becoming less common these days). Great air conditioning. Double glazing so you didn't hear the street noise.
Devizes is such an interesting town. No need to go to Stonehenge, or Bristol or Bath while you are here. I wish we had had more time!!!
Excellent breakfast, spacious room newly done up. Great shower. Good air-conditioning fortunately
Много чист и комфортен хотел. Страхотна баня с вана.
Няма безплатен паркинг, а на този, който е платен има ограничение 2 часа през работно време
Eine sehr persönliche Atmosphäre
Convenient location and modern. Very clean and comfortable.
Nothing all great 😁
It looked freshly renovated beds were comfortable and clean
It’s a beautiful setting and our room was divine
We loved everything about it.
Central, comfortable, clean
No parking
Good location
No parking available, but we found parking in the street.
The whole hotel was in great order with very few of the knocks and scrapes that can occur. Room included robes, tissues and bottled water and splendid crisp sheets.
There was an outside area which meant a little noise below our bedroom window but as it rained this wasn’t an issue.
Centrally located in Devizes. Wonderful staff. Lovely cooked breakfast with good choices. Spotlessly clean.
Because this is a renovated old building, there are a lot of steps going up to the rooms. Not ideal with suitcases to carry.
Wow! What a fantastic stay we had! I cannot fault the hotel … the cleanliness, the staff , the food, the rooms - it’s all incredible! Cannot wait to book again in the future :) thank you for such an enjoyable stay :)
Nothing - it was all perfect :)
A great hotel in the lovely town of Devizes. The staff is really nice and the room was spot on.
The big showerhead was broken, so we couldn’t use it. The small showerhead was fine though.
Everything! Great experience and decor/soft furnishings to die for. Restaurant back in operation and offering excellent choices at mid range price point.
NA
Very comfortable bed in a quiet room on the top floor of the hotel. Very helpful staff carried my luggage up to the room. Excellent breakfast. Great location in the centre of the town.
The stairs are very steep. No lift to the top floor. My tiny single room (#17) had no window, although the excellent en-suite did have a small one that was usable for ventilation.
Clean and friendly
Lack of parking but understand why.
The building has been lovingly curated with exceptional bathrooms & sympathetic design features throughout.
Parking is off-site.
Central. Beautiful ancient building in Devizes. Restored sympathetically with modern comforts, such as recessed lighting and underfloor heating in the bathroom.
Restaurant clearly had a challenging night.
A lovely stay at this boutique hotel. The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing!
Location and welcoming staff
Light sleepers, like me, would have a problem with squeaky floors and doors and lack of insulation to curtail extraneous noise.
Great traditional English breakfast, all you could cope with! Tasted fantastic. Coffee and tea provided fresh and hot. The rooms were very comfortable clean and well decorated. Excellent shower and bath in our room. The snugs were really comfortable and, well, snug! Great for relaxing drinks and chat after dinner. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The restaurant was very good also, good place to book for the first night. Other good restaurants very close to hotel. We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended.
It was perfect. Very clean and tidy and amazing features and facilities. Great location too.
I can't think of anything.
Very friendly staff. Clean with comfortable beds & good facilities. Excellent breakfast.
Overal stay was good, the food iat breakfast and dinner was also good,
We had trouble booking the restaurant initially, only resolved when we arrived at the hotel.
Well converted old property, giving good modern accommodation in an older setting.
Very little.
Breakfast excellent

Great location, great room & great breakfast
Position. Unusual.
Nothing not to like.
The breakfast was excellent and the location was perfect. A very comfortable hotel with it's various snugs and lounges also easy to find your room with the signage.
We stayed in the 4 poster room, it was spacious, very clean and extremely comfortable. Philip and the rest of the staff made us feel very welcome upon arrival and breakfast was fantastic
Cleanliness, the individual lounges, peace and calm.
Didn’t like going in the back door after hours.

Service
9.4/10Repeatedly highlighted as friendly, polite and very helpful (staff called 'amazing', specific praise for Sophie, fantastic bar staff and warm welcomes).
Location
9/10Frequently noted as central and convenient (good for exploring Devizes); double glazing reduces street noise. Parking availability is limited which tempers the score slightly.
Room Quality
8.4/10Rooms praised for comfortable beds, generous size, good showers and effective air conditioning; offset by specific complaint about a sliding glass en‑suite that compromises privacy and can be noisy.
Amenities
8.2/10Good amenities noted (air conditioning, onsite restaurant/bar, well‑appointed rooms) but recurrent parking issues, limited free parking and occasional closure of bar/restaurant reduce the rating.
Value for Money
8.6/10Generally seen as good/excellent value by many guests, though at least one guest felt it was not competitively priced; overall slightly above average.
Food and Beverage
9/10Breakfast and food repeatedly described as great or excellent; bar and restaurant receive positive comments though occasional closures (e.g., Monday) are noted.
Overall Experience
8.6/10Overall very positive with many recommending and intending to return; attractive decor and comfortable rooms, with some negatives (parking, en‑suite privacy) for a minority.
