Isango Gate

Beautiful, clean, bed was amazingly comfortable, the staff are kind & friendly & didn’t hesitate if I asked for something. It’s my 4th time staying there, it is bliss!

Nothing - it’s perfect

Great environment peaceful stylish....

I stayed at Isangogate for 3 nights. The place is beautiful; the services were poor. I will not go back. The staff are unfriendly. The shower is such that you waste a lot of water before the hot water starts running. The water pressure is low. The dining experience was sub-par from the quality of food, and service.

New modern room

No wifi both days

It was lovely staying at Isango, i enjoyed my stay there...the breakfast was so tasty and definitely a highlight. The dinner option is not so good, very oily and the meat is really bad but for lunch the urger was great. The rooms are 10 out of 10. very clean, spacious and very trendy.

We checked in to Isango Gate expecting a luxurious experience as it’s advertised as a boutique Hotel. We very soon realised that it looked nice on the outside but was not so nice on the inside. The accomodation is across from student accommodation, and they are so loud throughout the night that you don’t get much rest. We were told they will look for another room for us but no action, the lights and wiring in the room is not right, lights flicker when switched are off, also disturb your sleep. The water pressure is bad and water trickles out the shower. This should not be charged at premium rates, but rather a quarter of the price they are charging. Location is close to the beach, that’s the only pro. But service, quality of the building, service and food ( food is covered in oil and coffee is really bad) this is not 4 star quality. It doesn’t come close. And the cherry on top is the students who are relentless and inconsiderate with the noise levels.

I had the pleasure of spending Christmas day here on the day of my son's christening. What the staff pulled off was amazing, professional and worthy of gloating about. From reception to rooms and meals. They were just brilliant. Pick this one anytime 😍😍😍

When we got the TV was not working. Also the air-conditioning was not working. On our last day the phone to call reception did not have any network, so I had walk downstairs. I am very disappointed 😞

The staff were friendly and professional, and the check-in process was quick and smooth. The location is excellent — close to the beach and quiet enough for a restful night. The room was spacious, and I appreciated the elegant atmosphere throughout the property.

The Wi-Fi connection was not always stable. I had to use my phone to attend meetings. The breakfast options were limited for the price. It would have been better if they had a gym too....

The waiters we had for dinner on both evenings and the breakfast on the one morning were pleasant and polite. The food was good but what i wanted to order from the menu was not available and had to settle for something else.

On arrival my wife was made to wait at the reception counter for a few minutes while the lady behind the desk was on her cell phone as we waited to check in. There was one bottle of water for two people for a two night stay One rusk for two people One bath towel that had to be shared for two people For a 5 star hotel the DSTV / Entertainment offering was very poor. Not even Netflix to use our own account. Two menu options steak and ribs where not available and i had to order something I was not happy with. The waiter had to leave the hotel and fetch ice outside as the bar did not have ice.

Location is In front of a student apartment

The hotel is very nice, quiet and clean. The bathrooms and rooms are very aesthetic. The only problem was the slow WiFi , old T.V with limited dstv channels. The breakfast was fresh and nice 👌. The menu is very limited though

The location of the place is great, it is at a quiet suburb and is at the same time close by to amenities. The staff was pleasant and professional. The food was great, a big thank you to the chefs. The reception service could be improved as I left without the TV connectivity having been solved. The bathrooms are great. However, the carpets are dirty, both in the room and on the common areas, including the staircase.

The breakfast range of offer was good. Dinner was also good - so the kitchen offering was good.

The dirty carpets all round, especially in the rooms and on the staircase. The fact that the room TV was not connected to the DSTV and despite numerous requests for assistance, I left without the problem being solved.

Food offering.

Poor service from the reception to attend to requests with challenges experienced in the room. Dirty carpets all round.

The room had many issues. The Air conditioner and TV were not working. When I checked in there was no fridge in the cupboard where it was supposed to be. The next day they brought a fridge, but it was not working properly. It was more of a chiller than a fridge. The Thursday night, it was virtually impossible to sleep because of the insane noise coming from the student accommodation across the road.

The place is very nice and clean, but its next to student accommodations when they have parties you can not sleep as they play music so loud. The bathroom is beautiful with a big shower but the water pressure is terrible.

Good location and the staff were very helpful and friendly

There is no sign outside with the name of the hotel. The establishment is definitely not a 5 star. Maybe it was at first but not anymore. It’s next to a student accommodation. The noise was unbearable on Saturday. Friday was loud but not as bad as Friday. The first room they got me in there was a fridge on the floor and the bathroom window was broken. They moved me to a bigger room and one of glass drawers were cracked. One of the towels in the bathroom was badly frayed. The seats at the restaurant were so hollow that you sinked in. The chairs were covered but the covers also had stains. The pressure in the shower is so low it’s frustrating! It takes forever to finish showering

Poor location, view of building. Breakfast was good

Slightly congested

The room is big & spacious with all necessary utensils.

The reception area was unattended when we arrived.

The place was beautiful with beautiful sea view. I love the treatment I received from the staff, I asked to check in early as I was coming from far and I was allowed to check in early, thank you to the beating ant friendly staff. Thank you to the chef who prepared very nice meal for me.

Beautiful breath taking view and an amazing staff that catered us very well. the chef also prepare a very nice meal for me.

If you could change the presidential TV to have netflix and others

Nothing

Newly found accommodation worth to be called a Boutique in Gqeberha. Need to improve outside signal, for it is difficult to see it from the street.

Breakfast

Noisy students across the road before Ironman race Linen run down Not able to book massage Toilet seat broken

Exceptional Experience at Isango! Every detail at Isango is top-notch, from the food to the service. The quality and taste of their dishes are outstanding—whether it’s the pork sausages, ham, or even the mushrooms, everything is delicious. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and the cherry on top is the breathtaking sea views and refreshing breeze. The service is excellent, making the entire stay an absolute pleasure. Highly recommended

Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Facilities are neat

Noisy across the road Linen old and torn Coffee pods and milk not replaced in room after day 1 Only 1 towel for 2 people

The accommodation was absolutely amazing, the venue was clean & presentable, staff was friendly & helpful

The boutique nature of the property works for me. Rooms are comfortable

Some investment in furniture is needed, dinning chairs are sagging, patio furniture is old. Especially that you are rated 5 stars We couldn’t feel 5 stars

The room was exceptional. The ambience of the hotel was exceptional and serene. The view from my room was uplifting. The chefs went extra miles everyday to accommodate my vegan diet. I loved that the beach is around the corner. The people there are very friendly at all levels (that is a competitive advantage compared to surrounding hotels in the area. Thank you to everyone involved in creating a superior service.

Nothing

Everything

Meals

Spacious, comfortable room with balcony. Walking distance to the beach and nearest shopping mall. Good breakfast options and made according to order. Friendly staff. The room and hotel are very clean.

Nothing

Fantastic find! Well maintained, quality boutique hotel. Spacious room, excellent breakfast, and warm welcome. I especially appreciated the coffee machine in the room. Great experience.

Absolutely nothing.

Everything was excellent. The staff were very good & friendly.

Just wish you can activate Netflix because it didn't play even when I tried to play using my account

Everything

it was perfect

I was thoroughly disappointed with the breakfast, which fell far below the expected standard for a hotel of this caliber. While the traditional breakfast was slightly better, though still not impressive, the "breakfast on the run" was particularly terrible. It was excessively oily, with lumps of undercooked minced meat, making it one of the worst breakfast experiences I’ve ever had.

Room 3, which was assigned to us, had dirty carpets and outdated, discoloured linen. The general cleanliness of the room was truly disappointing. After voicing our concerns and requesting a refund, we were moved to Room 9, the presidential suite, but even there, the cleanliness standards were still lacking. The lounge furniture was worn out and desperately in need of attention. While the bathroom, bedroom, and wardrobes were in good condition, a noisy machine outside the kitchen kept switching on and off, disturbing our rest throughout the night. Additionally, the cushions for the chairs in the dining room were severely worn out and require urgent attention.

Did not have

Water flow in nr2 is poor

The staff was the best they made my stay feel like home but more the beauty and the cleanliness and service will forever have best memories for my family

Nothing

Excellent all-around Meals were a bit pricey; food was great. The room floor was a bit dirty however the room was excellent.

The suite was very spacious. And it looked beautiful

No lift having to go up and down stairs

Breakfast was delicious and good coffee. Location was very convenient to travel for meeting and amenities closed by. Beautiful sea view and walking distance to the beach.

I didn't like the fact that the extractor fan don't have a off switch it makes a noise. But just my opinion i like it to be quite to fall asleep.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable beds

There were only a handful of DSTV channels available and they TV's were not smart TV's meaning I had to resort to my laptop.

Always a pleasure staying at Paperbark Manor, this is truly home away from home. I can highly recommend them for business or a quick family breakaway.

I liked how peaceful it was.

I loved everything about it.

Nice

Nothing i can think of

We stayed in the Presidential suite and it was fabulous. A large bedroom, lounge area and a balcony overlooking the pool, it was well furnished with a modern style. The bathroom had a huge shower plus bath and twin sinks. The staff were pleasant and efficient and friendly. There's a smallish pool, overlooked by the restaurant. The only thing that let it down slightly was the breakfast. Although the selection was good, most of it was cold. Aside from this it was a good stay and we would both return and recommend.

The overall experience of the room, is great. Spacious and comfortable bed and seating area. Balcony and entrance is well designed. Only negatives, is the bath tub drain plug need to be fixed asap.install modern smart TVs. The current ones are crap.

A place to spend a good quality time with your family so quiet and relaxing I mean it attracts that peaceful moment I always wanted to have with my sweetheart we loved it and enjoyed every moment and of course we are definitely planning to book the venue this summer for sure I love it!

sunday lunch was tasty , with fresh salads , nice dips and good roasts with vegetables . choice of 3 desserts . service was friendly and very willing . the price was good value for money at r225 for the full buffet . one negative point dont put supermarket apple sauce and salad dressing on the buffet ... it looks tacky

The breakfast was not good .The environment was peferct and the bedding was clean.Staff is very friendly.

The bath tub taps does not work .
