Really great location and services and welcoming staff .would definitely recommend this place
Pictures don’t do it justice
Good food with a great choice in the evening and breakfast, the options for smaller appetites were excellent. Pleasant room. Good, large car park , and great if you're visiting Osbourne House. Responsive staff.
Room could do with a bit of love soon.
The staff were welcoming & friendly. The food we had was good quality & tasty & good value. Plenty of choice of drinks at the bar
The shower cubicle was tiny & cramped
Comfortable Bed
Traffic Noise from outside and couldn't connect to the internet
Very accommodating from the moment we arrived.
Nothing.
The location and staff

Excellent food. We enjoyed both lunch and breakfast and the food was delivered to the table hot, fresh, delicious ingredients.
Unfortunately, our room overlooked the garden area, and, owing to the hot weather, there were several patrons outside late at night and rather noisy! However, they did move indoors at the appropriate time, so no problem then.
We stayed for our wedding reception with family and friends. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The food is amazing especially the breakfast. Great value for money too. Special thank you to Ronnie and Sam for making our day so wonderful and to Lee who went above and beyond to look after us and our guests. Amazing time. Roly and Lorna.
That we couldn't stay longer!
The twin room was very comfortable and very clean. Dual aspect windows created a through breeze and a table top fan was very welcomed. Breakfast was simple but very tasty and well presented.
There was a music act playing in the garden so obviously the noise carried up to our room. However they finished at 11 pm so this was perfectly acceptable to us.
Handy location.
There’s a step halfway along the corridor which my friend tripped over as she wasn’t really looking!
Good location directly opposite Osborne House
Rooms in a pub so noise from outdoor drinkers in the evening. Lots of noise from cars on the road ALL night. Rooms basic and looked a bit shabby, bed very creaky.
Comfortable and homely

I had to leave a review as I was so impressed with the accommodation. The owners were lovely, answered all my questions and made me feel welcome. There was plenty of parking, tasty hot breakfast, clean and comfortable accommodation and it is over the road from Osborne House so it was perfect for the event I was attending. I thoroughly recommend considering staying here :)
Honestly can't fault it, excellent value for money.
Lovely room and great service, the staff were so helpful and friendly.
A very welcoming environment
Nothing!
The staff were lovely and made us feel super welcome. Breakfast was superb! Fantastic location Barton Manor wedding venue just 10 minutes walk away.
The only thing to comment was that one of the beds in the twin room was incredibly squeaky which was pretty irritating for my friend that i was sharing the room with when I moved in the night.
Comfortable well decorated room. Breakfast well cooked & presented with care. Staff very helpful
Excellent staff "the chief" and young man serving breakfast as well as at the bar
Lovely room. Helpful staff.
On edge of town.
Great location, lovely staff
Not much. Location is good for Osborne house and East Cowes seaside.
It is not quite a hotel. It is a pub with a few rooms.
freindly staff, food in the evening was nice and good value. , a freindly and nice breakfast
a bit noise in the night,
It was perfect for what we needed, location was good, clean, good value for money

Staff, friendly, helpful. Food great, and bar selection, location excellent.
Please mention they are many stairs to room.
Really like the staff, hotel and food, always stay here for business/work.

Good location, room good size and good condition.
My room (room 7) was situated next to a water tank. When water used, pump activated. Both pump and water flow disrupted sleep on Saturday night. Poor considering cost of room. Also shower threatened to overflow due to slow drain, and shower had some mould on tile grout.
The staff were lovely - Chief was so friendly, informative & cooked a brilliant breakfast, but all the staff were wonderful The room was cozy & very comfortable. Such great value.
We stayed here because we went to a wedding at Barton Manor so the location was excellent. The pub was very friendly and the beer garden was spacious and great to sit in. The bedroom was clean and light and comfy. Breakfast on Sunday was absolutely delicious and the guy serving was very attentive.

The location was perfect for my visit to Osborne House. The staff were brilliant, super helpful and efficient. Great choice of menu for evening meals, and the room was comfortable, clean and well decorated.
The breakfast choices were limited - no healthy options only cooked breakfasts in various forms. Shower tray didn't drain very well in room 7. Small issues really as the rest of the stay was brilliant.
Staff very friendly, very clean, the breakfast was amazing best we have ever had on the island.bonus has a lovely beer garden
The bed was very uncomfortable hard and small as hubbys feet were touching the end
The staff and customers were so friendly. The food was excellent. Rooms were very comfortable. Brilliant pub quiz!! And I was told to say that Dean makes the best breakfast 😋

Good location opposite Osborne House
To all the staff who helped us settle in, and to ensure we had some documents printed off, that was urgently needed during the our stay. The team showed kindness , friendliness and all round nice people who made our stay that extra special. Thanks to Jack & Max. Good Location , staff and breakfast was very well presented and value for money. Had a little bite to eat on the Thursday afternoon after check out , and was very tasty and again well or presented. All went above and beyond and appreciate very much the late check out.
The building is amazing and has so much potential. However the room was lacking in some much needed TLC, duvet was wafer thin, and simple things like the bathroom light bulb wasn’t working simple fix, and shower doors where broke. A little dirty in general floors walls skirting , no handle on wardrobe, and kettle only filled 1 cup, full of scale and only 1 toilet roll. A little over priced for the room itself.
Love the rooms and the food… super casual and really nice staff
Rooms a bit cold but otherwise faultless
Breakfast was very good but maybe the offer of fruit juice & cereal be good. Location perfect for Osborne House and bus stops outside pub to get around island.
TV in room, screen to small.
breakfast
A desk in the room would of been really helpful
Friendly welcome on arrival, everything was explained. Room very clean, breakfast was excellent. Good location with access to nearby facilities if you needed them.
Room was cold and no extra blankets in room, however when mentioned to the manager the heating was turned up.
Great night and great brwakfast
Good breakfast - clean room with a clean onsuite bathroom- very nice helpfull staff - good selection of pub meals

Had a really lovely stay at the Prince of Wales Pub and Rooms in East Cowes. Great breakfast, a cosy, quiet and very clean room, and a fantastic evening meal. The manager/owner went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, which made a real difference. Wi-Fi was excellent too. Would happily stay again and highly recommend.
The heating in our room and en suite wasn’t working, but it was a busy night and we didn’t want to bother the manager. We had plenty of blankets so it wasn’t an issue for us.
Willing, helpful and welcoming staff. Good food and comfortable friendly ambience. Victorian features and historical cameos in rooms. Comfortable bed and quiet room.
Shower was a bit small, limited by shape of old building. One of us might have been kept awake by streetlight outside window, but luckily had a sleep mask to cope with this. Thicker curtains would have been preferable.
everything was clean and well looked after. Food in the evening was simple pub grub, but well done. the breakfast was excellent. staff friendly and helpful.
room was small, bathroom especially. breakfast was not until 8am, 7 would be better
We loved how close it was to Osborne House, we were able to just walk over.
The room was extremely cold both nights we stayed, we were put right up the top of the hotel even though we were the only guests. Bed was very uncomfortable, both had sore backs.
The staff
Heating and shower door
The room was perfect.Very clean and very cosy. Breakfast was excellent and the meal we had in the restaurant was superb too. We loved our stay and the staff were very warm and friendly. Look forward to staying again soon!
We could have stayed longer but sadly had to go back to work!
I'm a solo traveller, so I loved the single bedroom. It is cosy and I enjoyed the cooked breakfast. When the chefs are out taking the orders, it's nice to be able to chat with them but it's usually because it's a quiet time. Jezz the weekend chef, always helps me down the stairs with my case at the end of the stay, which is usually heavier due to all the things I've found to buy in the Isle of Wight! It's very convenient for Osbourne House, and I stay there for personal reasons as I have a friend who lives close by. The Prince of Wales is close to the bus routes to Ryde, Newport and the ferry back to the mainland. Plus it takes you to Waitrose and the ferry or boat over to Cowes.
I don't think it would be suitable for anyone who can't climb the stairs because there is no lift and I don't think there is a room on the ground floor. When I let myself in to the pub at night, sometimes all the lights have been turned off, so it's a little tricky even if you know where the light switch is!
My fiance and I, along with his mum and sister stayed at the Prince of Wales to attend a wedding nearby. The rooms were great, clean, comfortable and plenty of space. My mother and sister in law shared a twin room and they were equally impressed with their room. We had dinner the first night and the meal was really tasty and great value. Breakfast was included and was also delicious. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. All in all it was a lovely stay!
Everything was great!
The bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice and hot and powerful. The location, opposite the entrance to Osborne House, was very convenient, and it was very useful that there was a bus stop right beside the B&B entrance.
In our room two light bulbs weren't working when we arrived. The shower cubicle panels had never been fitted properly and the shower runaway needed unblocking. A used towel from a previous guest had been left in the wardrobe. Only a cooked breakfast was available - unlike most B&Bs, there were no cereals, different breads, fruit, yogurts etc.
All the food they serve is amazing!
The mattresses could use an upgrade, we have stayed in 3 separate rooms over the past 3 years and the mattresses are fairly worn down
Welcoming host. Spotless room. Yorkshire teabags and quality biscuits. Comfortable bed. The room was warm and cozy. The breakfast was exceptional. We had a delicious evening meal. Steak and steak and mushroom pie. All the staff were friendly and heloful. This hotel is well located opposite Osbourne House. There is a busstop.outside this hotel so it was very easy to travel around. Ronnie and Sam are personable and run a good business. We enjoyed our two day stay. We were very comfortable.
I liked everything
Breakfast good and choices from evening menu very good. Convenient for visits to Osborne House
The staff were really friendly, and the Prince of Wales has a good mixture of locals, and guests. The breakfasts were really good and set us up for the day well. The location is excellent - particularly for visiting Osborn House!!
The rooms were quite small - they were perfectly OK and comfortable for a short stay
Very polite and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant.
Right opposite the entrance to Osbourne House where we visited .
Room very small with a small double bed and the smallest shower we have ever used. Sadly for me the bed did not suit me as it was too soft for my back condition.
A long walk uphill, need to state bus route with bus number.
Friendly staff, checked in at the bar and even though it was busy the bartender was so friendly and showed us straight to the room with no wait. Comfy and well decorated room. Breakfast was great (they can do vegan if you ask and had 0 fuss).
Good hot breakfast.
Could have some cereal / fruit option for breakfast.
Spent nine days here while visiting family on the island. The staff are amazing, all super friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. Bus stop is right out the front door to get you to Newport or Ryde. Would stay here again in a heartbeat
It was great ! Have already booked for next year
The room was comfortable with a good en-suite shower. Breakfast was also good and huge. The man-behind-the-bar sorted out a payment error with Booking .com
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent. I would describe the Prince of Wales as a traditional British pub with ensuite accomodation. It was nice to receive a decent traditional English breakfast included in the cost with decent portions, fine ingredients and cooked to order. No Richmond sausages here ! It was also nice to have our little dog welcomed, none of this 'dog friendly room' business like some of the competition. If you are visiting Osborne House the pub is directly opposite the entrance. Parking good too.
The room was a little on the cramped side. Bed very comfortable but shower a bit on the small side for a large lump of a human like myself. But exceptionally clean. We were unfortunate in the fire alarm going off at 2.15am and because no staff were onsite it was almost an hour before it was turned off. Staff were extremely apologetic and promised drinks/meals as a gesture but as it was our last night there wasnt any chance to enjoy those. However I wouldnt hesitate in going back.
Lovely room, very clean and tidy. Felt very comfortable and well kept. Had everything you would expect in the room didn't need to ask for anything. Staff were all very friendly. Without hesitation I will stay again.
I am a tall man and the bed had a footboard meaning I couldn't stretch out quite as much as I would have liked. This is a bit harsh as many hotel beds are similar so no big issue.
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, room was clean, cooked breakfast tasty. It is right outside Osbourne House and has bus stop outside and opposite, but personally if you are walking the Coastal Path then I would suggest you finish at East Cowes ferry, cross and stay in Cowes.
The location - the room we had was right on a main road and was incredibly noisy - ear plugs didn't help!
It was a great location and a nice relaxing stay. Staff were friendly and helpful
It would be nice to have more choice at breakfast. Cereal and yoghurt maybe? Although I did get toast when I asked for it from the great chef 😄
We loved the breakfast and the rooms were very clean. Drinking water was always given at the bar when we needed it. Location was good too.
The hotel side of the establishment was a bit of an after thought. I asked for my room to be made up and put a sign on at the start of the day. Came back and nothing had been done. I asked one of the girls that worked there if I could have this done. Even if it was just toilet rolls and new towels. When I got back later they were just on the floor outside my room. I wasn't happy that the towels I was using on my face had been on the floor. Breakfast was great especially the first day. The second day was okay but the hospitality was a bit scarce.
Gute Lage zum Osbourne house und den Fähren
Zimmer hat nach Rauch gerochen
Comfortable room, great helpful staff, excellent food, brilliant location for Osborne House. Right on 2 frequent bus routes from ferry. Ideal stay.
Easily accessible by bus.
Nothing
Rooms good size but disappointed about light bulbs being out, bin not emptied and general room wasn't cleaned. Food is really good and staff very friendly.
Staff were fantastic 👏
The room was small. The traffic noise was constant. The cleanliness was poor. I tripped using the stairs as there are a number of dark. unlit areas on the staircase.
Lovely clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
Staff very friendly. Breakfast really good and good location for buses.
If someone else has a shower the same time as you the water coming out of the shower gets weak
Excellent stay as always, lovely room in the king size bedroom, really clean and well presented. Our doggies were made to feel so welcome too! Very friendly staff and we enjoyed both our breakfasts and evening meal. We’ll definitely stay again on our next visit to the IOW, thank you!
Very clen and very friendly staff. Room was large and well furnished. Breakfast was excellent.

We were welcomed so warmly by the breakfast chef. We arrived early as we had a wedding to attend and the staff went above and beyond to enable us to have our room available to us early so we could get ready. The bedroom was very clean and had everything you needed, the bed was comfortable and the room was well presented. The bar staff in the evening were friendly and efficient and in the morning the staff were again very friendly and nothing was too much bother. Overall the experience was great and we decided before we had even spent the night that we would be back.
Good location to my work location. All staff really friendly and helpful, especially Lee. Pool table was a bonus.
Pillows could be better in the room and decoration is a bit tired.
